Good rainy Friday morning to everyone.  It's still pouring here, and several intersections are flooded.  Several school districts, in southern Indiana are on two-hour delays.  And yes, people are getting cars stuck at underpasses, because they can't see the depth of the depth of the water.

To celebrate a couple of our friends being back this morning, the Friday morning doughnuts and danish are on the counter.  Along with muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls.

Coffee, hot tea and juices are also ready and waitin' for you this morning.  Mudchicken, do you need some hot cider this morning, or would you like to have it cold?

Today is the last day of school around here, as Spring Break begins.  Now, we have to put up with running around everywhere next week, seeing what they can get into!

You all have a good morning, and try to stay as dry as possible!!

It is dark, but dry.  Will be sunny and warmer today.

CW - you are just getting a longer shower.  Maybe you had a little more winter dirt to wash off than we did.

Joe should be here shortly.  I need to rest awhile.

....Rainy and cloudy, dark and 50 degrees.....Must go to Indy in 45 min. to deliver grand child back to parents.  Had nice visit with us this spring break week.  Then we'll head over to Lexus dealer to have car checked over.

Just noted interior light was on inside the {car, as one rear door not quite shut}, as Jean and Heather were shopping yesterday and.....my first thoughts were..."Oh no...battery will be dead", but good old lady luck was with me and I tried it and it started right up.....Surprised me...

Starting tomorrow it's to be much warmer and sunny and on into next week.

I'm thinking the tractor will have to come out to start the lawn mowing...Thought that would happen this week but didn't get that much sunshine and didn't quite happen.  Did sew a bunch of grass seed to work on spots the drought caused last season....

Guess our day has started.

CW, South Dakota could use some of the rain that you folks down in Lousville are getting, and I wish it were possible for you to send some of it in our direction. Anyway, I hope Kentucky gets some drier weather, and soon!

I have to work today, which I don't mind. I had the day off yesterday and spent a few hours doing some outdoor photography in the downtown area of Sioux Falls, including Falls Park. I watched a BNSF train roll across a plate-deck tressle which spans the falls, it had 4 engines on the point and for some reason it was moving in reverse, probably to pick up additional cars further down the line north of BNSF's main yard. Anyway, I got some nice pictures.

Coming home from my venture at Falls Park yesterday afternoon, I went past the Wild Wheat Bakery & Coffee Shop in downtown Sioux Falls, and noticed thay had a "HELP WANTED" sign in the window, so I am looking at applying for work there, maybe I can pick up an application on my way to work at Wendy's this morning.

I hope the rest of you out there have a good day!

It is a glorious day here in NW Illinois. I am digging out an old flower bed. The robins come around when I take a break. Lots of worms there. And I received a letter from Congress & the President that I will be getting a payment of $300 or $600 in May. I'm happy.

CW neglected to mention the Fireworks Show that "Ma Nature" put on overnight;

it was kind of awesome. Thundering enough to shake the house, and lightning enough

you almost didn't need any lights on to read by.

The last time I checked our rain gauge about 9:00pm last

night, we had about 3/4", this morning it was showing about 4"! (most came around

midnight) City and Suburban Fire Depts. were kept very busy effecting rescues of

peoples trapped in their vehicles in underpasses. (mostly R.R.) City at one time

had to resort to blocking the roadways with "Fire Scene" tape as they ran out of

the actual barricades they generally use. (heard from scanner)

Also heard on the scanner on one of the rail channels, engine crew repeating

a track warrant back to the dispatcher saying...."maintain track speed and watch

out for flash flooding at mp....."

Ray, would be very happy to send some of this "wet stuff" your way, I'll just set

another big fan next to the one I've got blowing towards Duff, (southeast) and aim

this one towards your direction. (northwest)

Joe, you can bring Matt any time!!  I can always use all the help I can get.

On today's FRIDAY FISH MENU:

1.  Catfish
2.  Cod
3.  Halibut
4.  Flounder
5.  Salmon Patties
6.  Jumbo Shrimp

Regular sides of corn on the cob, baked beans, fries, hushpuppies, and cole slaw.

At least for now, the rain is over here.  Think it is totally gone from our area, but you know, you just never know the tricks Mother Nature will decide to give us.

Angel [angel] Yes you are CW.

I love catfish, especially southern catfish, with hushpuppies, slaw and baked beans. Mutt, you must work your buns off to burn up all the great food calories. That is my solution also, HA!

Another nice day in AZ. Have a great weekend all.

Never had Fish at Texas Roahouse before, wasn't sure it was on their menu, but then again I don't look that far down the menu.  Steak or Porkchop for me.

But I will second mudchicken's Barleypop to go along with the meal though.

Mook, if you get enough feathers, maybe you can make yourself a pillow from them!?Wink [;)]

.....Walt....Catfish is down at the right corner of the menu....I used to order Mountain Trout, but Catfish replaced it....

I do order the steak there too.  And it's generally good.  We seem to have a pretty good Texas Steak House here in Muncie.

Like I said, I don't look that far down the menu.

Due to a problem in college, I had to eat a Lot of fish, now it doesn't get ordered very often.

CW ; ~~~ Have you ever had  Channel Catfish from the smoker?? It takes bout 4 1/2 hrs. to make ,but it's worth the effort. With that you make cornpone and a fresh green salad / coffee or genseng tea.  With the high water now you find them in the back waters . Either gig em' or use a seine net.  ~~~ Cannonball

Brian, you are definitely talking my languge now...when I fix anything on the grill, that

is a very big part of my ingredients.

Cannonball, when I really did eat fish, I do like the catfish. Have never done it "Smoker

Style" though. Enjoyed catching fish, but never enjoyed cleaning them, especially catfish.

One of the best cats I've ever caught, was from the Ohio River, during high water, just

after the Delta Queen went past.

Good Saturday morning, folks!!  Looks like we had a very nice crowd in here last night.  You all please the cook, when you come in!!  Likes to see and know that you all are coming in each and every day!!

Coffee and juice are ready.  On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  A big ol' feast:

turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, pancakes w plenty of syrup, country fried ham w/red eye gravy, home fried taters, muffins and cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit.

Planning to go to the big Stewart Flea Market that's in town this weekend; so, our Saturday Night Pizza Fest might be a little bit late tonight, but hopefully, it won't be too late!!

You all have a good day, and enjoy your big breakfast.

......Catfish aside....it's 36 degrees now and a bit foggy but will burn off fast as the sun is coming up and it's clear for lots of sunshine today and much warmer.

Now coming back from Indy yesterday, we stopped in Yorktown {which we're annexed into being part of now}, and I had {for lunch}, 2 eggs....fried potatoes, done just right.....bacon.....toast....and coffee....How's that Walt.  It's a Mom and Pop's place, and at meal time it gets pretty full of locals.

Good morning Americans, it's Saturday! 64 degrees and rain in Carolina this morning. All this talk about food is making me hungry, which is not good, since my wife put me on a diet..... Seriously, I like fish and seafood and can handle it seven days a week. We have a Golden Corral here that has shrimp the size of silver dollars at times and I am in hog heaven. Yall take care

That sounds pretty good, sometimes places like that, are the best places to eat.

Hmm, wonder if the Mookster will make an appearance in here today since she's got a

'puter at home now? Maybe not, it might cut into her train watching time. (or "asparagus

cam" watching time)
