Went out and frolicated in the 39 degree cloudiness and 29 mph wind.  It was so nice not to have to do it in knee deep snow!

As soon as this all blows east, we will start warming up and enjoying spring.  Tulips are up and crocus and daffodils are blooming.  Driver's favorite 4 syth e a - is starting to bloom  (he has a lisp and can't say it very well.)

Pizza will be good.  Nap better!

Had showers off and on all day, and am watching lighting from up around Baltimore out the window right now.

Still - it's nice and mild out.  Even if I didn't get the lawn glider put back together.  There's always tomorrow...

Still working at chopping up tree remains here- enlisted a local tree service to come and grind up the stumps sometime next week.  Had to endure spitting snow showers while working on them this afternoon.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  Very chilly morning here in the Metro Louisville area:  41 degrees w/sprinkles and drizzle.  The "people in the know" say we could even see some snow fluries/light snow showers today.  Yuck!!  This is Spring, for Pete's sake!!  Although, it is Derby Time in Louisville, and we have seen snow on the first Saturday in May before.

Coffee is ready to pour, and there's fresh orange juice, apple juice, orange/tangerine juice and pineapple juice this morning.

On the breakfast/warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage patties & links, and pancakes.

In the Crock Pot for Sunday Dinner:  top round sirloin steak w/mushrooms & onion in cream of chicken soup (didn't have any cream of mushroom soup handy this time).  And in another pot on the stove, I've also got beef stew cooking for  Sunday Dinner.

Hope everyone has a good morning, and enjoy your breakfast!

....37 degrees and heavy overcast.  Hope they haven't changed the former nice forecast for tomorrow.  One of the priorities this coming week for me is to have the winter tires removed from my S10....and  do a second mowing.  Now we don't want the weather to reverse that.

Clear but cool here on the Maryland Shore this morning.  Certainly nothing to complain about.  Evie just went back upstairs to see Mom about brunch.

Time to get up and around and work on that glider!

Not sure about snizzle, but we can replace the sn, with dr here; doesn't look like

Any yard work will get done today.

At least the weather cooperated enough for the Thunder Air Show and Fireworks yesterday.

(at least good enough to watch on TV and not be in that crowd!)

Q, we had the grass cut last Sat. and it looks like it's on the "borderline" of needing to

be cut again. (already)

Yes, Walt....it's growing very fast now.  Pretty and green....and with 30 plus years of fertlizing, it starts it's growing as soon as the temps start moderating......And I notice new growth coming on my many shrubs too.....That too means near furture work of trimming.   But I try to keep them looking nice and neat.

The steak w/mushrooms & onion are out of the Crock Pot, and on the warmer bar, along with the beef stew and cornbread; other hot veggies today:  baked potatoes w/your choice of butter and or sour cream, succotash (lima beans & corn mixed together), or peas & carrots.

Desserts today:  banana pudding w/meringue on top, strawberry and cherry cheesecakes, and chocolate cake w/white icing.

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice, quiet, peaceful afternoon.  We're ocassionally hearing the planes from yesterday's air show, flying over the house, leaving Louisville.  You can definitely distinguish them from the 'regular' planes flying overhead!!

Q, we haven't fertilized the yard very much in the last 20 years we've been here; and I

don't know if you want to call it "Green" or not; but the "Crab Grass" looks Great!

The Shrubs did get trimmed ealier this year, if they need it again, it's going to have to

wait 'til next year.

Joe, if we, (or the people that cut the grass) have to put pontoons on the lawn mower,

It ain't gonna get cut!!

We serve Ice Tea  all year long, it's Always on the menu!

Now if you lived in this part of the country, right now it would be about 38 degrees,

with a bit of a wind chill...I'm opting for something warm.

(so long as it doesn't keep me up any later than it already is here in the EST)

I've had several things keeping me from doing the Zzz [zzz] Zzz [zzz] until now.

BTW, the Steak and Mushrooms were great!!Smile [:)]

Lessee - If I leave here around 10, I'll miss the noon rush at Balitimore.  That'll work.

On the road again today after a delightful visit with Granddaughter and her folks.  She's getting cuter all the time!  More alert and almost ready to play with.

A little research shows me that I'm only a few miles from Tunkahanock Viaduct on my way home (how many times have i driven by it?), so that's my bonus stop on this trip.  Looks like a sunny day all the way home, so there ought to be a picture or two coming from it...

Sounds like Evie's coming down stairs, so time to pack up the rest of my stuff and spend some time with her.

Totally forgot - have a train update:  Joe - saw CSX 383 heading south behind a couple of old pokes from BNSF.

And....saw a KCS new circus wagon - all by itself, using our wye.  Came from the east, used the wye and headed back east.  Boy are those gaudy colors in real life.  In pictures they were a little more subtle, but in the bright sunshine - wow - need extra strong sunglasses.

I have no clue why it was out all by itself or where it was headed, but it looked very determined!

....Our projected nice week has started....But cool.  33 earlier this morning.  Bright sunshine and most likely to be that way until about Friday.  Mowing this week for sure....!  Don't mind at all, in fact....kinda like to do it.  Me and the John Deere....

Best to all for a good week.

Good afternoon, everyone.  As Mutt said, I could not get in the door this morning; so, I just got ready, and went grocery shopping!  Man, is it cold outside!  Then, I came back, and started cooking.  For your perusal on the warmer bar:  a fresh pot of beef stew w/fresh-from-the-oven cornbread.  Got some extra tomatoes, and added to the beef stew.    Also on the warmer bar:  open-face turkey sandwiches w/mashed taters and turkey gravy, and there's plenty of garden salad and Caesar salad in the cooler.

Ah, home.  Rather be back in MD...

I know Evie would be glad to see me -

And I'm pretty sure her mom and dad would be, too.

I did get over to Nicholson, PA - stop over at the Lounge for that account.

Gotta get things ready for work tomorrow - Yecch!

I will take some of that sweet tea - something Northerners haven't embraced wholeheartedly just yet, but I have.

Good morning, everyone.  Well, the temp didn't drop too badly last night:  we're at 41 degrees F. at 5:57 a.m.  I'll take 41 degrees over 32 any day; supposed to reach a high of 60 or 61.  That will be nice.

Larry, have to agree with Tom:  Evie is a doll!  I do wonder:  how many times did you try to sneak her into your car, to take home with you?!?!?!  Wink [;)]

Coffee and other morning beverages are ready, and there's plenty on the warmer bar for your breakfast.

What's with all the "global warming" stuff we keep hearing about...here it is April 15 and we had 30F at 6:15 this morning...and this winter was one of the coldest and snowiest in many years....Al Gore, are you listening? Well, at least the coffee was good and hot...have a wonderful day everybody.

Thought I'd pop in and say hey.  It's been a while.  Guess I've been spending too much time (is that possible? LOL) on the HO layout...and work!

Another day of work is calling, but there's a plus: I get to see/hear machine gun fire and explosions most of the day.  No, we haven't move overseas.  Public Enemies (a movie about John Dillinger) is being filmed in Oshkosh.  I get to see the set from where I work so that's kinda neat.  Got to see Johnny Depp and I think Christian Bale the other day.  Makes work less dull!

Back later y'all!
