Bob, how about:  bbq wings, chips, dips, fried chicken, veggie trays, popcorn, and maybe some chili dogs?  Does that sound like a winner, guys and gals?

....Cannonball:

It is a bit too early to have any info on what is next for the 8th st. area location.  The plant has been turned into rubble, and it will be all hauled away procucing a large open space for whatever is next.

It's way too early also on the BWA site to know just what that will produce.  The plant will shut down no later than April '09, but beyond that we don't know just what will be the outcome of the plant building itself.  Rumors are it will be razed but no official word yet on that to the public.

That one will be personal as I was associated with that business for 37 years.  Just can't imagine that plant {and business}, not being there.  107 years up to now and counting.  As you no doubt remember, it's on Muncie's west side along Kilgore Av. and at one time employed over 6,000 workers...!

As these programs proceed forward I'll keep you up on just what is happening here.

And thanks for the kind wishes of good health....

By the way, you may be able to pull up some photos of the smoke stack falling the other day as recorded in the MuncieStarPress.com.

Okay guys and gals, I'm setting out the snacks on the warmer bar for the Super Bowl.  Hope you all enjoy them, and enjoy the game!  Also got plenty of soft drinks for tonight.

Good evening everyone.

Haven't I seen this game before? Oh that's right--Super Bowl XXV, when the Giants more or less did the same thing in shutting down an opposing offense and won the game in a crazy squeaker. Shock [:O]

Despite being in Phoenix today, I watched the end of the game in my mother's room at the rehab facility she's in (not that kind of rehab - she's 81 and recovering from a significant fall).

The better activity today was a visit to the Maricopa Live Steamers facility on the north side of Phoenix (http://www.maricopalivesteamers.com/).  What a magnificent place!  They have nine miles of track and a signal and control system that has to be seen.  They even have some powered turnouts (would you believe power screwdrivers?).  If you're in Phoenix on a Sunday during the cooler season, plan a visit.  They give rides!

Time for bed.

Good (rainy) Monday morning, everyone.  At least, we're getting rain this morning.  Coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider, hot tea are all ready and waitin' for you all.  And on the warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, along with bagels and bear claws.

Only watched the last few minutes of the game, just to see who did come out victorious.

Looks like we've got plenty of leftovers from Sunday Dinner, and the snacks from last night to clean up today.  (Glad I popped back in before going to sleep last night, to clean everything up, and put all the leftover food up!!)

Yesterday we had a couple of inches of snow during the game- this morning we're getting rain with lightning and thunder, falling on frozen streets.  Ah, Iowa winters...

Well, looks like the rain is out of here, for a little  while, at least.  Just cloudy and overcast out.  Got some magic pork chops w/potatoes and onion on the warmer bar, along with fried chicken, mashed taters, gravy, peas & carrots.  (Don't worry Joe:  I have a couple of containers all ready for you for work tonight, in the fridge, with your name on them!)

Doing research for another railroad trivia question.  Will post it when I'm through with my research.

This railroad trivia question is for those who don't read Ray's Today in Railroad History thread:

When did Chesapeake and Ohio acquire control of Baltimore & Ohio?

Heh...yup! And they used to win all their high school games with Newman in Uptown New Orleans too! Archie's been grooming them for some time now, and they still put on a mighty fine football clinic down in Louisiana and Mississippi every year in the spring and summer.

Joe, I think just about everybody feels the way Matt does about doing laundry.  Unfortunately, we still have to do it, if we want clean clothes to wear!

Pork chop abracadabra and sides are on the warmer bar, ready to be eaten.

Is just about everyone 'hung over' from the game last night?  Sure seems that way, since not very many have been in today.

Guess I'll go warm up supper for us now; so everyone have a good evening, and take care.

Good evening!

Just thought I would drop by and say hello. School is keeping me busy. I'm working on my second semester term paper right now. This one has to be in MLA style. The first semester paper was in APA style. The term paper really isn't as hard as a lot of people make it sound. It just requires a lot of time and work and there are a lot of rules to follow.

We have snow on the way for tomorrow. It didn't look like we would get much earlier today, but now the computer models have shifted to heavier accumulations. Not sure if its enough for a snowday, but several inches could fall.

CW - I think I have the answer to your trivia question. The Baltimore and Ohio was acquired by the Chesapeake and Ohio in 1963, and merged with it in 1965.

  ~~~ Quentin; Thanx for the update . Lots of memories there and about town . Too many to mention , the most is trying to get out of the traffic to go to Chi. stockyard to geta load of hogs for Meyerhoffer Packing, and the R.R. tower ( N.K.P. & N.Y.C.)  Memory is one gift of God that time can endure.  Cannonball
....Yes, Cannonball....the Marhoefer plant is all dormant and most of it gone, and in fact some new buildings on that property.  Just recently.  not sure what it even is yet.
Believe all those RR towers are no longer here either.  Yes, memory is a great thing.
We'll keep you in mind and when something interesting happens, changes, etc....we'll try to put it up on here for you.
Switch - I'm sure I'll be back out here to AZ a few more times this year.
Rain today in Phoenix, and a store clerk said something about freezing tonight.  In fact, I was reading that the FBR Open in Scottsdale started late a couple of days due to frost on the course.
Working on packing - I take to the air again Wednesday.  I figure we'll pass well south of Mookieland, but if I'm on the north side of the airplane, I'll wave anyhow.
The funny part is that I may arrive in NY to almost the same temperatures I've been putting up with here in AZ.  Plus it's dry, and my body has been trying to compensate for it all week.  Buy stock in Kleenex!
Back to packing.
Good Tuesday morning, all!  Good job Willy!  You get a A++! Good to see everyone who came in last night.  Larry, have a safe trip back to NY.
Coffee, juice, tea, hot chocolate are ready and waitin', and on the warmer bar this morning, you'll find all the usual breakfast items.
It's very warm here this morning:  66 degrees, with rain on the way.  Possibly some storms tonight, like we had last Tuesday night.  I sincerely hope it doesn't include any more tornadoes, but they say it's a possibility.
Have a great day, and take care.  See you all after I'm through with  Tuesday Produce.
Well, I want to apologize to everyone for not making it back in until now.  After Produce this morning, I went grocery shopping, and have been busy.  So, you're getting a 'light' supper tonight, of pizzas.  On tonight's menu:
1.  cheese
2.  anchovie
3.  Hawaiian
5.  pepperoni/mushroom
6.  pepperoni/sausage/mushroom
7.  supreme
We had a stormy morning, for a bit, then it's just been cloudy all afternoon.  They are saying that we'll have some moderately severe storms come into the area, around 10, 11 tonight, and then another round around 3, 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.
