We're supposed to see that wind on Wednesday, too.  Right about the time I fly out, of course.  Should be interesting.

Found out my mother knows someone who runs at the Maricopa Live Steamers in Phoenix, so I know what I'm doing on Sunday!  I don't know if her friends will actually be there that day, but the club has a monster "layout" with several miles of track.

Time to make some dog treats and get started on packing.

If you are going to seal that crawlspace, remember to check and see what Mr. Radon Detector says. In Denver (and in CopCar's backyard too), your house is built on expansive clay/ brick in the raw (unfired)...famous for radon gas troubles and creating the need for radon fans and vents. It's more of a sure thing than what Inconvenient Al rambles on about.

ps - carefull with the use of wire induction pipe heaters (not really a good idea - insulation and a little common sense do wonders)

At dark-thirty in Denver, we have light snow flurries.

....Late in the day here we find ourselves caping off a moderate day....42.6 right now.  Another "warm" day tomorrow, and then some cold again....and a low system will pass {projected now to}, right south of us and that means snow if there will be any with it.  Perhaps 2 or so inches of it.  Have none now.  Always the north side of the "Low" gets the worst of the "weather" traveling with it.  But we're just about rid of Winter month, January....Surprising how much sunshine days this month we've had....Not really known for that.

His TV wife was Emily... What got my attention was how suddenly these got so old!!!! Add to the list such standbys as The Brady bunch,Carole Burnett, Donnie and Marie, Lavern and Shirley and of course M*A*S*H. These all fit into these same time frames. 35 to 40 years. Man alive, it makes me feel ancient!

Tom - the first line startled me, since I was around for the first one!  Has it really been that long?

Well, went to Millie in a light jacket yesterday and in all my winter gear this morning.

Little rain drops early evening last nite and no snow so far.  Just horrible bitey winds!  Hard enough to blow the morning paper off the porch.

Don't know what was wrong with the 52 degrees - I was enjoying it so why couldn't we keep it.

Tree - have a safe trip.  Who will watch de dog?

I really must have a short nap before I do anything strenuous - like breathe.....

Good Tuesday morning, folks.  Well, second day in a row, that I can't get in the front door!  Beginning to think no one wants me around Tongue [:P]

Coffee, juice and other beverages are ready and waiting for you.  On the warmer bar:  bacon, eggs, hash browns, oatmeal, rice, grits, bagels and bear claws.

We're getting light rain right now, but come afternoon, we are to be getting thunderstorms, high winds (gusting to 45-50 mph), turning to snow sometime around midnight.  Crazy weather:  you never know how to dress for going outdoors.  Shirt sleeves one day, dress like an eskimo the next.

Tom, I can remember everything on your list.   I'm only 55, and it makes me feel old!!

Question for you all:  what would you like on today's menu?

A neighbor (and fellow firefighter).

They're threatening us with freezing rain this morning.  Nothing yet, but it could be interesting.  Then there's that wind thing tomorrow.

Hopefully it'll be a good trip.

Hope the trip goes well!

We're supposed to get 4-6" of snow on top of ice on top of freezing rain and then you can add wind and bitter cold.  Tonight and tomorrow will be like...yech.  I can't use the word I'd like to for descriptive purposes.  Got the Iso-Heet in the truck in a full tank of gas, serviced the 4x4, got extra salt and gas for the snowblower.  Also got some extra food and beverages in case of inability to travel.  I'm ready for whatever Ma Nature can dish out!

Are we doing the Fiesta for lunch today?  I could go for something spicy...ha cha cha

Just want to thank all the folks who answered my weather proofing questions, I think I'm ont he right track now! Thumbs Up [tup]

Mr. Chicken, we had a Radon test done prior to purchasing the dwelling back in 2005, and we got the all clear back then.

Fiesta menu sounds like a plan for me!

Have a great trip!

Cheers,

Ryan

Ryan,

That site of yours is sure interesting.  I like the scrolling train, but it levitated off of the 'tracks' when I was looking at it!  Looks like you've got a cool layout in progress there.  If you want to see some of mine (my website is under construction) you can look here

Okey dokey, looks like it's  TUESDAY MEXICAN FIESTA DAY!  On today's menu:

beef & bean burritos, beef burrito enchilada style, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, cheesy beef nachos, fajitas, Spanish rice, black bean & rice tostadas, and south of the border snapper and there are tortilla chips and salsa & con queso dips at every table/booth, and also on the counter (if anyone sits at the counter, that is).  Everything will be on the warmer bar in 20 minutes.

Dan, good to see you in today!!  And Larry, have a safe trip out to Arizona & back.  Hope your mom is feeling better soon!!

Produce Tuesday went pretty well this morning.  Had twice as many people show up today (even in the pouring rain) than we had last Tuesday:  total of 68 people today.  The goodies today:  apples, cabbage, slaw mix, salad mix, potatoes, bananas, lemons & limes.  The slaw mix and salad mix were in 5# bags.

Mexican Fiesta looking good! Ole....caliente'! Thanks CW!

Dan, I like your site, nice start.  And your You Tube videos are good too!

When viewing my PD site through Mozilla Firefox the scrolling train gif images does funny stuff like that, no idea why, but in IE it behaves.

Cheers,

Ryan

Dan, now I see what you mean!

That's the new mag-lev train devices I'm using now, makes em lift up off the rails.... Laugh [(-D]

Actually, I think that used to look right in the past, not sure why the scrolling images are off the rail image now. Banged Head [banghead]

Seven miles off the end of Lake Ontario, and seven miles from the St Lawrence River, just north of Watertown.

Yes, time is moving fast.  I remember seeing Donnie and Marie on Johnny Carson one night and he asked her her age....She replied 13..!

The night time TUESDAY MEXICAN FIESTA is now under way.  Wind is picking up, but rain has stopped for the time being.  By morning, our temps are to be down to 22, with wind chill of zero, and snow showers on the way out.  Not supposed to have much accumulation, though.

Guess I'd better go feed the four legged mutt her supper, then fix our supper.  Getting kind of hungry, here!!  You all stay dry, warm and take care!

Brian, the weather conditions here in Sioux Falls are not much different. Right now we have -2 below 0, and our wind chill is at -22 degrees below 0. I've had the day off today and I was going to make the trek to one of our local McDonalds for a bite to eat and to obtain an employment application, but I got as far as the curb outside my house and quickly decided that "This is INSANE!!" The wind chill at that point was about -30 below 0.

I'll kick heat on and grab a bite.  Currently it's -13 ambient with wind ~35/40 mph it feels like -40/50.  A bit chilly, as we say here.  No fanning for me today.  I'm not that crazy about CN anyway!

Good Wednesday morning, everyone!  Dan, got sausage , bacon and pancakes and scrambled eggs ready for breakfast this morning.  Coffee, and other morning beverages are ready and waitin', including several different juices.

What a wild and crazy night around the Louisville Metro area!  Day care centers w/damages, power poles down, signs blown down, some of them on building roofs, semi blown over on it's side, etc.   Probably around 22,000 to 25,000 places still without power this morning.  Even one private school is closed, due to no power.  Guess I'll check outside after it gets daylight here, to see what we have, or don't have in the way of damage.

Current temp is in the middle to high teens, with wind chill at zero or below (can't remember exactly).  High today supposed to be in the low 30s.  Wonder if we make it.

Think I'll start working on some big ole pots of beef stew, minestrone soup, and some chili for today.

This isn't going to be good today.  43 and raining now, high wind warning and cold coming in.  And I gotta fly, after a 70 mile drive to the airport.  At least if I get there it's on them...

I'll check in from time to time if the airports have wireless.

Good morning! We have -9 degrees below 0 here this morning in Sioux Falls, and the wind chill is at -20 below 0. It's a good day to stay home and drink hot chocolate.

My oldest sister Ginger is going to pick me up around noon today and I am going over to her place and try to teach her my methods of baking bread. Chef [C=:-)] It should be an interesting experience. I will then have dinner with her and her husband.

I hope the rest of you out there have a good day.......and stay warm!
