Hey, I'll have you know I do a pretty good job of keeping the house in order!Tongue [:P]  Besides, can't let things get in the way of her walker... and she's doing better every day, last night was the most restful night of sleep she's gotten since the surgery.

We've got -2 degrees here yet, still waiting for the warm air to get here.

Good morning! I am a late riser this morning, didn't get out of bed until about a half an hour ago. I think I'll grab a bear claw and pour myself a cup of hot cider while I am here.

Right now we have 13 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and the wind chill leaves us at 0. It is supposed to warm up to about 22 degrees here later this afternoon, and we are supposed to see the temp climb into the upper 20's over the weekend. It is kind of cloudy here, but I don't think we will be getting any snow today. I have noted that right now the weather conditions in Louisville, Kentucky are almost the same. Louisville has a temp of 11 degrees right now, but at least there is no wind.

.....2.5 degrees this morning....{5.0 now}, but no wind.  Beautiful sunshine warming us as it is clear.  No wind.  Now, the warmup starts.

Brian, you really do have to maintain a good pathway for the walker, don't you?!

She hasn't put one of the legs of it on your foot yet has she?! Mischief [:-,]

We're up to about 14 right now, maybe it will make it to the mid 30s by afternoon.

Most women and almost all mothers, come with a built in "guilt" mechanism.  You can only sit or lay so long and then you have that overwhelming urge that you really need to attend to something - like clean the bathroom or refold the clothes or pick up clutter that no one else can see (that's mine)....or whatever your personal guilt is....

Clutter?  I'm working on getting rid of it, but I've got so much built up that putting "this" away means having to clean "that" first, so there's a place to put it.  It gets circular after a while and I get dizzy, so I just sit down and watch a movie on TV...

Bearclaw and some tea for me.  Hope we've got plenty of bearclaws - they  seem to be getting popular.Dinner [dinner]

The only truck I own is old ford 1/2 ton , no chains or binders or ratchet straps, just a crowbar shovel & hammer in the tool box. Truckin' aint' easy any more. Cannonball, sounds good!  Your party for tonight sounds pretty good, also!!

Our FRIDAY FISH FRY is just about ready to be put out on the warmer bar.  In the way of kinds of fish, you've got your choice of anything from catfish to whitefish, with every kind of side dish you can imagine, from corn on the cob to greens, with all the regular desserts we always have on hand.

Those of you who won't be in over the weekend, take care and have a good, relaxful, restful weekend, and the same goes for those who will be around over the weekend.

I'm sure Driver takes good care of Millie.  Probably keeps him from becoming a scratching post!

Since it's been a while I thought I'd pop in.  Here's a 'Dan Update' for anyone who wants to read it:

Work's been a zoo lately...wild tigers and rhinos everywhere!  DUCK AND COVER!!!  I suppose it helps that I can still dodge, duck, dip, dive, & dodge pretty well (Name that movie!).

Got 'promoted' at the Model Railroad club last night.  Now I'm the official secretary and webmaster.  Things are moving along with my module and the club layout.  If anyone wants to see pics let me know and I'll send them to you or redirect you to where they're sitting now.

Wedding plans are finalizing.  We're now down to less than 8 months as of last Sunday.  Thankfully, due mostly to lots of pre-planning, we've avoided most drama.  My photographer suggested that I see about getting pics taken on a locomotive...somehow that idea didn't sit well with the fiancee...lol.

I'm still going through some old pictures from when I was a kid 20ish years ago.  Found some neat ones (posted now in Trackside Lounge) of CNW's 1385 and other steam engines.  I'm still looking for the ones of me at the helm of 3 SD40-2s.

So that's about it.  Everyone behave and stay warm!

Dan, very glad to see you back in here!  You were definitely missed around here.  Hope you'll continue to make your presence know in here!   Congratulations on the promotion at the Model Railroad Club last night.

Everything has been replaced on the warmer bar for our FRIDAY NIGHT FISH FRY, including all the side dishes, and cole slaw and salads are in the cooler, above the desserts.

Thankfully, our temps will be warming up tomorrow.  I've been trying each day to get outside and take a very short walk, in the afternoons.  Come back with very, very cold feet and toes that feel like ice cubes.

Thanks for fixing breakfast, Joe. I'm hungry this morning! While it is a bit cold here in Sioux Falls, it is not nearly as cold as it has been earlier this past week. Right now we have a temp of 10 degrees above 0, and there is no wind right now, so that helps a lot. It is supposed to get up to 30 here this afternoon.

I will be headed for work in about an hour, got to work a six hour shift today at Wendy's. I will not complain though, if the flakey manager there would give me more hours to work I'd be happy. I am looking at submitting applications for employment with a few other places just to survive. I am living from pay check to pay check and the money is slipping through my fingers almost unknowingly, but then that's the way life is for a lot of us.

I hope everyone has a good day. Stay warm!

Good Saturday morning to one and all.  Joe, thanks so much for getting the morning going in here, and fixing breakfast!  The bacon, eggs and pancakes are smelling very good this morning.  Think I'll take a couple of pancakes, with bacon and eggs, and sit over in the back booth.  May curl up and go back to sleep, though.

Ray, glad to hear you're beginning to slightly thaw out up there!!Approve [^]  This time of year, I love it when there's no wind.

Everyone have a great, safe day and take care, so you're back in here tonight!

Hmmm, looks like no one has been in here since this morning.  Oh well, I've made pizzas anyway, for tonight.  Here's the SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST menu:

1.  Anchovie
2.  Cheese
3.  Goetta
4.  Hawaiian
5.  Pepperoni/mushroom
6.  Pepperoni/sausage
7.  Supreme
8.  Veggie

I hope everyone has had a very good day, and didn't get too cold, if you had to be outside very long.   Also hope you all have a good, warm evening, and take care!!

Looks like we'll be getting more rain tomorrow--I see a storm coming according to Weather Underground's website (which is on my browser's RSS feed).

Ray, I'm feelin' for ya.

I need the overtime at my job. Some recent reversals in the business will have me eating bread and wine at mass tomorrow and SCRAPPLE and eggs for breakfast. Beans, sardines and cool weather possible for the next three months, to remind me of when we were paying my son's tuition. He and I have found a path in AA.

I am here for a purpose, which I hope (and fitfully pray for) will reveal itself.

The internet does collapse miles doesn't it? Take care and be warm but avoid too much SCRAPPLE.

Good morning everyone. I hope you managed to stay warm and cozy overnight. Currently, 32 deg in Carolina this morning with a clear sky. Phase two of the primaries is now thankfully over and the campaign phone calls are gone with it... The wife and I went out last night and had a nice plate of barbecued ribs that really hit the spot. It was the sweet barbecue as opposed to the vinegar based kind. Hey CW, could we give this a try in the diner sometime? Rixflix, God has a reason for each of us being here, but it is sometimes difficult to discern, as you know. For some reason, I survived a traffic accident 4 years ago, and by rights, I should have crossed Jordan. I still wonder why I am still here. Yall stay warm and safe.
