Sacto, that's what I usually do on the weekends (even when I post the menu early in the morning).  I'm usually in and out, so hardly anyone sees me, and I keep warmer bar replenished, whether it's during the week or on the weekend.  And sometimes, even the cook forgets to mention everything that's on the menu and warmer bar.

I have our TUESDAY MEXICAN FIESTA on the warmer bar:  lots of tacos, quasadillas, burritos, enchaladas, tamales, etc., along with con quaso, salsa and tortilla chips.

Hope you all enjoy the Mexican Fiesta, and containers are available for anyone who wants to take some home for supper tonight.  (Containers are under the front counter).

Today was my first day (what a cold one, too) back doing Tuesday Produce.  At least now, we do it inside the gym, and no one is standing outside in the cold.  All they had for us today was:  cabbage, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and green bell peppers.  We had 62 people show up today.  Everyone was glad to see me back.

Probably think they can stay on the road better when there is snow & ice also and drive

about 100 miles an hour!!!!

Wouldn't surprise me.  I have a rule for people like that.  Someone passes me in inclement weather and goes in the ditch: I don't tow them out.  I'll help them otherwise (medical/phone call) regardless.

We have a couple of those "stupid Quiet Zones" here in the city also; one is supposed

to be up for reconsideration, and another one to be considered. Hope some people

have more sense than complaining about horns.Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Hope the FRA does revoke all of them.

On a day like today...that's not a bad idea!

Better reheat that coffee for Mook.  Thought she'd be in by now.

Hot breakfast sounds great CW.  Had flurries this morning and a very cold north wind.  Currently it's 28 degrees.

I'll get Mook's coffee cup filled and ready with a beagle near it for her dancing and listening enjoyment.

Good Tuesday morning to one and all.  It's a bit blustery here in Metro Louisville this morning, and will be blustery all day.  Temp isn't supposed to get over about 45 degrees today, with winds gusting quite a bit.  Time for heavier jackets today.

There's plenty of hot coffee on, and hot water for tea, and we have hot chocolate available this morning.  On the warmer bar is:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, apple-cinnamon oatmeal, bagels and bear claws.

Sure hope we get a chance to see Mookie come in today!!  It was too quiet, without her here yesterday!!  (Hope she was too busy with work, and not sick yesterday!)

PSA FOR TODAY:  DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!  Remember, if you don't vote, don't gripe about who comes into or returns to office!!

Got a question for you folks: are there "quiet zones" for trains in your city? Here in Sacramento, CA, they instituted "quiet zones" for no train horn operation after the City of Sacramento did a number of upgrades on their railroad crossing signals through downtown (the electronic bells are really quite loud now).

Thing is Joe, I like all the Widenose GEs...and some newer Widenose EMDs.  Spartan cab, older engines are not high on my "That's Neat" scale.

Leftover meat loaf, mashed taters & gravy, shelly beans, etc.  It's all on the warmer bar, so everyone, help yourselves.

I'm so tired today I may actually have some coffee for the caffeine!  I went to watch the CN in Neenah yesterday and all I saw were SD40-2s!  BORING!  Maybe today I'll find some neat run-through power or higher HP stuff...

Good Monday morning to one and all!  Pleasant here this morning, with a temp of about 45 degrees.  We have a 40% chance of rain coming in by about 6 p.m. tonight, then turning much cooler for tomorrow.  Our high for tomorrow is supposed to be around 45 degrees.

Coffee is ready, and fresh juices are made.  Hot milk and hot water on for hot chocolate and hot tea.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage patties and links, biscuits & milk gravy, oatmeal (regular, maple/brown sugar, cinnamon & spice, and oatmeal & raisin), beagels and bear claws, and some fresh pineapple chunks.

Sure hope that everyone had a great weekend, and hope that you all have a good/great day today.  Heading to the CS, to turn on the train layouts, and watch out the window for the morning trains rolling by.  Anyone want to join me?!?!  You're more than welcome!!

Last night I was "in town," where one of the main streets is undergoing some major reconstruction.  Absolutely tickled me to see a nice, big, fancy Chevy Suburban gingerly drive over a spot where they had paved the main road, but not the entrance to the parking lot, leaving about an inch and a half drop...  I charged right on through.

Good evening everyone.

(Grabs meatloaf with mashed potatoes and shelly beans Dinner [dinner] )

One good thing about the speed tables just installed is no more cars zooming by my house at 50-60 mph! Thumbs Up [tup] That also means no more loud cars, either.

Wow, what a great game between the Patriots and Colts today! Smile [:)] I expect them to meet again in the AFC Championship Game because I really don't see any other team coming close to matching the Colts or Patriots for AFC supremacy.

I can think of one or two downtown streets that need speed bumps:  people from the suburbs come downtown, and hold "drag races" up and down a couple of streets.  Haven't heard anything about them lately, so maybe the police did manage to put a STOP to them.  And yeah, you really feel those bumps in the a Jeep with a body and suspension lift:  big time!!

Joe, got containers ready for you and Lance for work tonight.

By the way, they finally put in speed tables (essentially elongated speed bumps) on my street to slow down traffic. We've had way too many accidents in my neighorhood because there is a really sharp curve east of where I live, and I've had cars plow up into my front lawn twice in the last 15 years and a couple of cars crash into houses in the past two years! Shock [:O]

We have a couple of them here in the city for about the same reason. And they are

seemingly working!! (we've not had anbody in the yard yet, but a couple of utility poles

across the street have taken a beating!)

(of course everybody complains about going over the "extra, hard bumps!)

Will take an extra cup of coffee so I can go back out to the patio and do some

more train watching. It is a bit chilly this morning.

I've been up for a little better than an hour and I forgot to set my clock and my watch back an hour before hitting the sack last night. My Clock reads 9:00 AM here when it is actually 8:00.

We have 37 degrees here in Sioux Falls, but it is supposed to warm up to about 65 by mid-afternoon. I kind of doubt that will happen. Tomorrow and Tuesday our maximum temp here will top out at 38 degrees. I guess I'll end up wearing a heavier jacket when I head for work tomorrow morning.

I baked bread yesterday afternoon, and I am about to pop a couple of slices of it into my toaster. Should be good with some strawberry jam. Any coffee left in the Diner??

Good Sunday morning!  Think I've recuperated from my outings yesterday.  Know I was dog-tired last night, when we finally got home, around 8 p.m.  Mutt, thank you very much for fixing the pizzas last night!  (Mutt did not get to see all purchases, because some are for his birthday coming up Thursday!)

We didn't many trains moving yesterday, but did see some trains during the week, while going to PT (but didn't see the engines, just the last of the trains).

Mutt, thanks for putting the coffee on!  I've put milk on burner for hot chocolate, and there's hot water ready for our tea drinkers.  On the warmer bar, you'll find sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, home fries, and bear claws.

For Sunday Dinner, there is going to be:

Meat loaf, w/mashed taters and gravy, shelly beans w/onion cooked with the beans, cream style corn, country fried pork chops, and homemade buttermilk biscuits and dinner rolls.

Hope everyone has a great morning, and you all take care and be safe out there today!!
