Sorry it was a mistake! So, this is my roster (all in Z scale 1:220):
-11 GE Dash 9-44 CW's
-5 EMD F7 A's (I don't speak here of my 5 dummy B's)
-5 EMD SD 45's
-3 EMD GP 38-2's
-1 EMD F45
-1 EMD E8
-1 Alco PA1

So a total of 27 units (+ 4 soon arriving EMD SD 40-2's)

the Cape Northern owns mostly rebuilt locomotives but here it goes;

2 - GP38-4s
2 - GP9M-2s
2 - SW1500s
2 - FP10MACs (hard to explain this rebuild)
1 - SD40-2
1 - SD23-1 (2,300 hp CAT engine rebuild of a SD9)
1 - B-27-8R

and that is the CPN fleet.
Plus the Missouri Valley RR (a short line) owns a single SW7 with a 567BC for power.

This is more than enough for a small layout like mine. An armchair modeller friend asked me when I'm getting the traffic report helicopter!

I like steam but diesels predominate because of cost vs performance. Even the plastic steam locos coming out now are out of my budget but I can always seem to get a diesel on special for < $100 Canadian.

Mostly Santa Fe but some Rio Grande with a couple of Mopac and CB&Q.
The problem comes from trying to afford to put decoders in them.

IMHO ,17 units is still too many for a 16 x 11 ft. H0 layout, so I rotate them via hidden holding tracks.

A pair of SD-45s,one SD-50,a GP-38 and an FP-40 are the bulk of my "active" fleet.I also have a DD40AX and a 4-8-4 intended for my layout museum and occasional operation.If I add them up it makes...not enough.I still want one SD-70,one SD-90 and a pair of big GE's for my running fleet and I would like to find another big steamer for my museum if possible in "N" scale.

Ther should be an 'I don't know catagory'. I honestly don't know and I don't feel like counting. Somewhere around 50 would be a guess....

I have been finding it difficult to find many L&N cars or steam locomotives in N scale. I realize you are HO, but do you know of anyone who carries N scale for L&N. Have found a couple, but not many.

I am just beginning. There are a few that both my husband and I are interested in getting eventually. My interests are mostly with Southern Pacific, my husband is interested in N&W, B&O, C&O in that order.

I own about 20, mostly GN or going to be painted GN. Most of my older locos are Athearn and the newer ones are mostly Life-Like. I just can't resist those green and orange diesels and the paint jobs are so incredible. I'd like to acquire some Genesis units, also some Stuart F-units to see how they run. However; with Broadway Limited coming out with a GN unit with sound, etc. that will be my next purchase.

Another note... Those Bachmann motors are the toughest little things I've seen. Put a small drop of lubricant on the bearings, and give them to the 3 year old. Unless you provide a screwdriver, they won't easily break.

i own one small BNSF locomotoive. i think it's the kind of engine they use just for moving stuff around the yard? the funny thing is, i own one engine but don't have enough room to build a layout yet!
