Evening All!

Hobby Front: I think I over did it on my "day off." Of course, that would have a lot to do with moving and reinstalling this:

This is the one section of my old layout that I decided to reuse. I did have to shorten it to fit the area. The edge closest to you in the picture was rebuilt in order for me to reuse it. A mutual friend and former co-worker of Mom and mine let us borrow an SUV she had (she drove) so that I could get it into town. I forgot how heavy and cumbersome this piece is. Of course, being 48 x 64" would have something to do with it. I will have to repair a few things that were damaged in the move. There should be a pair of hills in the back but they were snapped off when I was removing the legs. (They were just glued on with some construction adhesive so not a big deal to fix.) I will also have to mix up some Sculptammold to fill in and repair some damaged landscaping. However, it will not be tonight. I feel like the surfer who crashed on his board: Wiped out.

Edit: It looks like I have the top of the page. Whatever potent or nonpotent potables are wanted are on me.

I was going to use starter spray in the same manner to find it

.

DO NOT even think about this sort of shade-tree nonsense.

.

The possibility of severe injury or property damage is way too high.

You really need to find a better place to get troubleshooting advice before you get hurt.

I might just leave it alone, it only happens over 60 or when I stomp the gas when pulling out onto a highway. I'm planning to do the 351w swap soon as money permits.

Ohh and I've been through some Ford Truck Forums and found no definitive answers on anything, I'm going to call Ford Performance Tech line tomorrow to ask for some advice on my 351w build.

I've got the Chilton Books for my truck AND my Mustang.

I got the spare tire to stop dropping, some PB blaster and a pipe wrench broke the pin loose so I could tighten it, I still have a quick link ring on the end if the pin just in case as a backup.

My son Cole got married to a wonderful woman, Kaitlin, yesterday. The ceremony was beautiful and everyone had a great time. It's hard to describe the feeling when one of your own is saying their wedding vows. I'm sure that those of you with married children know what I'm speaking of.

Congratulations to you and the happy couple, Dave! We had several wonderful experiences like that. Our oldest son was married right here on the property he grew up on. To me, that was an especially memorable event.

Glad to hear some good news here in the Diner!

Thanks Steven, Garry and Ed.

The whole ceremony went off without a hitch. The food was great, the DJ was great....nothing went wrong.

The only slight negative was that we were in a greenhouse and it was a hot, sunny day. We used a couple of large industrial fans to move the air. I also lucked out at the local Dollar Store. They had a bunch of really nice looking Chinese style folding fans so I bought 120 of them. They were well received. Nobody was shy about using them.

I also arranged for tubs of ice cold bottled water to be placed at the entrance. Those were pretty popular too.

I found one other thing at the dollar store that we needed. We wanted to tie some helium balloons to the venue sign on the highway. We were quoted $15.00 each at the local party store!!! We politely declined. The dollar store had exactly the same thing for $1.25 each!!! I'll have to check out the dollar stores more often. I hadn't been in one in years.

Chicken fettuccini for everyone.  My wife tried a new recipe and she was disappointed.  It was suprisingly bland. I have no idea why it wasn't more tasty.

Users online: I never see more than 4, mostly 1 or 2.  The other day there were two women.  I can't recall ever responding to one of their posts or even seeing one of their posts.  Looking at their profiles, one is on Garden Railways and one mostly posts on Trains.

There was a post from a newbie Amanda today.

I would say this is a mostly "guys hobby" but I do see women in train stores and shows.  Kathy Millett has a youtube channel.  Why do we have no women in the diner and rarely see their posts in the forum?  If they go on TV and punch and choke each other, surely they could put up with the guys in the diner.

Amanda is brave enough to tackle a poor running brass loco.  I'm not sure I am.  I invited her to join us.

Late at night the Users On Line are funeral homes, car rental agencies and payday lenders. At this moment I see a blue box that says "There are no community membesr online"

Me thinks the system is flawed.

Cheers, everybody.

Henery Because men fart and women claim they don't!

Steven Nothing backyard or shade tree about finding a vacuum leak with carb cleaner! I seen it done at dealerships. Just use your head, look for sparks from your wires and coil packs first and don't spray on the exhust manafolds and you will be fine!

Dave Congrats on the new daughter in law!

Seems I am either walking the dog or walking the wife! I am beat so later Ken

I know that song.

Me thinks the lyrics are "where can I find a woman that loves railroads like that?"

I know Ken, I've heard it suggested elsewhere, I better figure it out because it seems to be worsening.

Well this week Paul Simon will be retiring with the last concert of his farewell tour.

Although he's not a Tennessean let's give one (or two) of his songs a run on the box.

Closer to Shakespeare, wouldn't you say—

"I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it" - (Act II, Scene IV) As You Like It

Although any comparison between myself and the Bard  wouldn't make a very long list.

Hey there Steven,

A while ago you were talking about livery colors and schemes. I wanted to reply to you at that time but I was unable to.  So I'll do it now.

On the LM&E  I didn't want to get into painting my locos but I was looking for something I liked and could use and this is what I came up with and I am very satisfied how it turned out.    I bought a few locos of what I wanted in the Reading yellow & green and just touched up the odd area that needed it and put on the decals.  They are Circus City Decals from Baraboo, Wisconsin, who did an excellent job on them. I will use him again.

As you probably know the paint scheme is of the Reading RR. and I liked the font of the Illinois Central....and there they are combined.

Worked good for me.

Johnboy out......................Sorry, pix never came through.

Good morning ..

Suggested trackside restaurant for today's lunch or dinner.

This is a cafe on Main Street in LaGrange KY..... CSX operates in the street with trains running between Louisville and Cincinnati . ... It is about 15 to 20 miles from Louisvillle.

It would be a very bad idea to double park your car there. LOL

Good morning from the Eastern edge of the Pacific ocean currently bathed in warm sunshine.

My Daughter has gone on a Universities tour in Ontario and Quebec this week and boy does the house feel big and empty with both kids gone. I guess it will really hit when they are both away attending University.

We are emptying the trailer out and are going to sell it. I don't know what we are going to do with all the junk coming out of it, I am surprised we made it over those mountain passes with all that crap. It has a lot of big-ticket maintenance work coming down the line and is leaking a bit and the stairs are busted. It sure doesn't owe us anything as we have had nothing but good times with friends and family over the years. We may get another one in a couple of years but the boss and I want to see a little more of the world once the kids are both away at school so will be sitting in airplanes instead of the truck.

Ken, it sounds like your wife is making progress. I have witnessed a few go through it and hard work pays off. My Sister needs a new knee and I don't think she can put it off any longer. The fact that she weighs more than she should have made her joints wear out that much faster than they should have.

Congrats to Dave on the DIL, soon you will be teaching some new little engineers how to run the layout.Laugh

That was a whopper of a Typhoon that hit Asia. I thought I heard on the news the name of the Province where the Rapido factory is, I could be wrong. Regardless I hope everyone is okay.

We have a friend of my wife coming from France to attend some dog shows over here. She is bringing six dogs with her and she is staying with us.Indifferent Maybe I can find a train show across the country I need to attend.Laugh

Went out to a really great Greek restaurant last night and had roast lamb and a bottle of really nice red. We were overlooking the ocean and the BNSF route to Vancouver. One Amtrak heading South and a long empty coal train also heading South from Roberts Bank.

I feel like crap today so no killer bike ride, but best get at the rest of it.

All the best to all.Beer
