Good afternoon. My back felt much better this morning so I told David not to bother with anything. But I thought it best to get more rest. So I stayed in bed until 2pm. It still hurts but is only a dull ache now. I'll be back around later.

Hmmm this is ominous...3pm. My time an no word from Jeffrey, or David Parks, either on Jeffery's condition! David probably had ot work, but wish we knew what was going on with Jefffrey!
I have decided to put up TWO prayer candles for him, as I know what bad back pain is!
And mine was just made WORSE by being rear-ended, and all these "so called accident lawyers" fancy enough for TV don't seem to care..they apparnetly only nat big cases where something is broken, amputated or brain damaged for life...they LIE on TV, they don't want "small cases" liek they say they do {"no case to big or small"}.
Pish posh on that, meawhile I am DEFINITELY worse off than even the old "before- when I was close to getting my injections" to now...SO the "bad situation has been made worse' and I will have to suffer more than I was , apparently. SO much for "pain and suffering" His insuance company is getting off easy!
If I rearended someone and casued such injusry I'd never be able to afford the premiums again and would be socked with a lawsuit to take what little i own! Being it was a {just turned} 18 yr old kid, who was driving daddy's car, I won't get a penny there either . Not looking for a killing, but now ANY back issues HAVE to include the accident as casue of ADDITIONAL PAIN too! ANd I I WLL have FUTURE medical bills from it's cause too!
Right now, I cannot do anything for more than 5 minutes wihtout sitting, and it is getting worse. Even just stiing here is causeing me a pain level of 6 just to sit here chatting. and I have to kleep changing positions to keep it form going to a higher number.
Oh well, Nothing much has gone rihgt for us this year, but we haven't had anything aputated {yet} liek Heffrey has.
I am trying to make the best of the bas situation, but it keeps getting hard.
Now I have to get after the 50% of how i react to what happened to me!!!!! And make it turn a frown upside down!
No bad news in the mail today, so THAT IS GOOD! No bills either!
WIsh we'd hear about Jeffrey..he gets the shorter end of the stick an doesnt complain much.....maybe I comnpalin too mcuh about the accident?

YGW,
Yeah, you do need to bend the pipe that goes into the wall flange. One flange on the stair, vertical pipe in the flange, at the top put on a 45 degree elbow, run your next piece horizontal screwed into the elbow in to the other flange and mount to trailer wall. Simple. They sell threaded galvanized water pipe in different lengths at most big box stores, I would recommend 1 1/4 inch pipe, that's about the size of a top rail on a chain link fence. I built two swinging gates for my neighbors driveway 6x4, one vertical piece on each end of the gate had a union connecting two pieces. Bought everything from Menard's did not have to cut, bend, thread anything....that was 25 yrs ago and still working. You put two 2 or three lag bolts on the side of the trailer door opening for the flange, the studs are doubled up there and yes, I worked on house trailer's too!
Heck, if I wasn't so darn far from Him, I would do it.
Take Care!
Frank
Hello all
Hot and humid here in NOVA. Looking forward to fall ! Poured buckets last night of rain. the site is a swamp. Loader is pushing the mud trying to dry it out. Stopping by teh girl friends house tonight to move a few boxes to my house. I guess I am commited now !
Jeff - hope you are doing well and have lifeted you up in prayer.
Frank - this type of fitting will work well for vertical post but they are difficult to transition to the horzintal with out pipe cutters and benders. An easier solution would be to dig two holes next to teh steps sink a couple of 4x4s in and attach a rail to the side of the post. Cost $20. Only requires post hole diggers, few nails, skil saw or even just a hand saw.
train master - glad you can look in on Jeff. Thanks for keeping us posted.
Jeremy - it really stinks when you dont get a good night of sleep.
Galaxy - you have a good heart and I believe this world is made a bit better by you. Wish more cared and gave.
Garry - Hey how are you doing ? Will keep Shellys sister in prayer.
Ulrich - tht is a pretty impressive home made door. Glad you are doing fairly well.
Cuda - you mean there is a charger site ! ? I had a "68" loved that car. Wished I still had it.
Prayer request - MIL has lost her sister and niece in recent months and she is traveling south to help arrange the nieces funeral. The real heartbreaking part is the niece leaves two teeangae daughters who have no parents at all.
Good Afternoon!
No word from Jeff? I hope is OK and is just resting. Continuing for him!
I tried my hand at building a window today. I have to admit, that this was testing my patience quite a lot. 22 parts is not a big number, but these parts were really tiny, in fact too tiny for my big hands. The window is a sliding sash window, consisting of two parts, each consisting of a frame of 12 by 10 mm (5 parts) and glazing. The two "windows" were than glued together and a frame added (6 parts). After another fierce action with a file, I was able to insert the window in the window opening and add the frame around it. All of it took 5 hours. Now there are 7 more of these windows to make ...
Viewed from a distance, the window looks quite OK, but any close-up shot reveals the cruel truth - the window is rather crude. I will make these 7 windows, one at a time, but for the buildings to come I will most likely bite the bullett and try to get my hand on Grandline window and door castings. Unfortunately, I can buy them only direct from Grandtline - without a CC a difficult undertaking, aside from the cash I don´t have.
Here are some pics of today´s job:
Hope to hear from Jeff soon!
No word on Jeffrey yet?
I came from the pulmonologist, he waived his fee part that my st"OO"pid new insurance won't cover because it is a "pre-existing condiiton. FOr the more than $1k I pay them during the period tehy won't cover, and the $2,200 a year i pay them anyway, they had beter strart coveirng stuff fast. Well as of Oct 1st, i can only push so much off until after thtat. GRR.
DOn't get me started on THAT subject. It has no rhyme or reason.
Well, I am off to a the bed to sleep off the rest of the med I took YESTERDAY.
I mailed off one insurnca form and wil lfill out and mail off the other one I got yestarerday today.
SO tired, it was exhausting to go to the pulmoniligists! Especially on a humid day like today that started off at 100% hum-did-it-ee. I have to walk uphill to gett ehre, so i am short of breath real bad when I get to his office.
Hi Guys
About to head out to work soon, its a 11:00 to 7:30 today. The only thing with that shift is that its hard to get anything done around the house. I did the housework early this morning and changed the water and cleaned the filters in the fish tank. So after work tonight I should be pooped.
Slept bad last night too. I fell asleep at 9:00 or so and was awake at 1:00am and never fell asleep again until sometime after 4.
I hope that when I get home that we have some good news from David about Jeff.
See you guys tonight

David Parks,
Simple idea for Jeff's railing.
Two floor flanges, two lengths of threaded pipe, one elbow. One flange on first step, second flange mounted to trailer at entrance door. Put all pieces together before mounting. Home big box stores, like Lowes, Home depot, Menards sell threaded pipe in different lengths and diameters:
Train Master galaxy sorry to hear that. I have often wondered jsut how stable those "steps" of cinderblocks with no railing are! Maybe if you have moeny left over form fixing the roof , you cna get a new set with railing put in! Heres hoping! Galaxy. The block steps are long gone. Hid dad built him a small wood porch with 3 steps. The 4th step into the doorway is higher and je needs to hold the rail to balance himself. This time he missed and lost his balance. He is in bed now. I have looked over there. onle the kitchen light is on. It is always on 24/7. I will check on him in the morning. If he is not better I will take him to the doctor and stay with him while whatever taests are done. Please keep the good hopes and prayers coming. I am hoping he did not fracture his back.

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.
You are the sum total of everything you've ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot - it's all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive.

Good Morning!
Going to be a hot day, so I am not sure, whether I´ll be able to do some w*rk on the buildings. My plans were to build my first window. - only 22 little parts to fabricate and assemble for each window. The point is that they are really small and my fingers are kind of big - yes, I have heard of tweezers ...
I am deeply worried about Jeff! Good to see that David will be taking care of him. My and Petra´s prayers for him as well as for all others in need.
Btw, any news from Johnboy and Flip? Barry hasn´t shown up for some time...
Have a good one!

Galaxy actually I was thinking about how much you are able to do FOR people even thouigh you don't have a whole lot yourself. What you have now organized for Jeffery (twice actually) is a good example of that saying "BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THIS WORLD". If more people gave just a bit more care, understanding, and help to others, what a better world this would be.
Had a great time out at camp today. The troop is off to a great start. I told them if they need a hand just give me a call and I can come out to help. (The Scoutmaster is out of camp during the day until Thursday, I think. So it is an asst. Scoutmaster, the Committee Chairman, and a few ladies who are the Troop Committee working with the Handicapped Scouts. The Scouts are so far doing great! When we left my house this morning (Myself and the other Commissioner), I didn't think we would be staying for the evening meal but we would be just there for lunch so I wore a Scouting T-shirt (Class B uniform). The Scoutmaster arrived just before we were going to leave and informed us that was room at the tables for us and the Troop had already paid for several meals that he and others would not be eating. Informed us we were staying for dinner! I didn't bring my "Field Uniform" with me. That is the uniform most people associate with Scouts and is the required dress for evening colors and the meal. During dinner the camp director (who I get along with great!) was walking around the dining hall and came over and told me that Dave (the other commissioner) had complained to him that I was out of uniform and he was to inform me of the proper dress for dinner (grinning the whole time...)! He was having great fun "picking on me". I told him to go tell Dave, "I love him too!" After the meal Dave comes over to me laughing...
New speakers should be out there on Wednesday. I got the reciept from the Sound place I bought them at.... Will likely get the one needing to be changed down and the new one installed on Thursday weather permitting.
Possible tornado outside of Canandaigua this afternoon: http://rochester.twcnews.com/content/news/752936/powerful-storm-causes-damage-in-hopewell--ontario-county/ I would not really think iot was a tornado except as Dave and I were leaving Scoutcraft this afternoon, I looked at the sky across the lake and saw a very strange cloud fomation. Long, very dark cloud with a Black edge coming down it. Right behind the edge the cloud arced back up to the higher dark cloud. In that arch were two pointed vortexes coming down that I watched double in size in about one minute. They both then grew smaller again, and the cycle repeated. I pointed it out to the the Scouts that were with us and said... That looks like a Tornado forming guys! We no sooner got back to camp when one of the ladies showed me the weather forecast on her iPhone telling Canadaigua that a possible tornado had been spotted and to take shelter! Lucky there wasn't any major damage as the storm came through the area. Some reports had Geneva and Waterloo in the path. No damage here!
Garry, I will be keeping your SIL in my prayers!

Have to back out early tonight. I was coming in from outside a while ago, lost my balance on the steps and fell backward down the steps. Now my back is aching badly. I'm gonna take a couple of oxycodone tablets and go to bed. Will not play with the computer, will not watch TV, will not pass go and collect $200. To bed and nowhere else. See y'all later.
Home and had dinner.
Might just kick back and watch the home run derby. Looks like it might be pushed back a bit because of rain
howmus Galaxy great quotes this morning! What truly matters in this life isn't who you know, how rich you are, or how famous you become, but rather how much you help those around you, and how the world is a better place because you existed! Yes, may I have the courage to change, for the better, those things which I can change!

Ray: As I have had to often rely often on "services", I have tried to give back in other ways if I can.
Even while I WAS eligible for and recieving services of the food pantry, I volunteered at the pantry I used often in the town I lived in {for its residents only} to help unload/organize the donation, and pass out the "bags of goodies" to the recipients.
I volunteered at the hospital in records dept for a few hours a week {about all I could handle} to cover the "work requirement" while I was on social services awaiting my disability approval from the ADMIN. Judge who evaluated the 4 inch thick medical file on me. That was the main reason he approved me was the medical records.
I used to walk {I could back then, and without a cane} 2 miles to volunteer at the pantry. I took "only what I needed". WHen I had extra food stamps that were from two months before, I would purchase items I knew were needed at teh pantry at Aldi's and with the help of a person with a car, would buy up and fill up the trunk of the leader's station wagon with needed food. {I did that often as i was a shrewd shopper and used coupons wisely. Hence< I often didn't even need any items from the food pantry, but volunteered anyway. AND teh food stamps didn't go to waste, were used for the intended purpose.}
Now when the P.O. has their drive I leave a bag of food out. Wnhen the truck is parked in front of Wally WOrld for turkey donations at TG, I buy a small turkey, and donate it, the box of stuffing, a can of gravy, can of cranberries, a can of green beans. and a pie {usually not pumpkin they dont travel well}: basically a complete dinner. I even did this on the one hand while we could easily have been the recipient of the TG baskets on the other hand. I felt blessed that we had more than they did!
I have no connection to children whatasoever, but sometimes if there is a Xmas tree with tags for kids presents, and i think we can do it, I buy a present, a medium priced one, but one I hope the receiver enjoys as a "desperate kid" should enjoy any old cheapy toy, but really "deserves" to have a better one than a cheapy one, I feel.
One year I did the "adopt a family" one year, there were 5 members, a Gmother, mother and 3 kids like 13, 8, 4. I had fun with that one. spent a few dollars over the "limit" they impose but with tags torn off, who would know? I wrapped up 100-yes 100 various gifts for them all, that was my "goal". I bought one of those sillly giant stockings and filled it with the individually wrapped/labeled presents...they had had a house fire and starting all over The Dollar store saw to it I could complete a new kitchen outfitting for mother, new towels/bath accesories and such for G-ma and presents for the kids,, boy it was fun for me to do!!!
I Usually buy an extra can of something to donate to the CHOW county-wide collection bins though they have been disappearing.
I DO someties have my moments and problems with change though, and as you know form here, I am quite capable of manic-induced rants! We are hoping the new med will calm that down a ntoch or two.
Well, Dinner was nothing special, and was apain to cook! My back is now REALLY messed up! and the lawyers have contacted who claim "you cna get pain and suffering inyour accident case" apparenlty lie...as they aren;t interested in my pain uynless osmehting is broken apparently. GRR {see a Manic style rant starting!} beter cut it off at teh quick!
well, I go rest my back off my feet now
Well, got the wound vac dressing changed and it's behaving itself for now. Van engine started up fine this morning and with only minimal priming. It didn't try stalling out either as it sometimes does for seemingly no reason. Maybe it's gotten wind that it's about to be cast adrift and replaced. Thanks to a member of another forum the IIc has it's sound back. The speaker was just a hair to big for the opening it needed to fit. So I brought out the Dremel and made a few little changes in the speaker bay and it slipped right in. There was some danger of the back of the speaker touching the keyboard circuit board so I put a piece of electrical tape over that part of the speaker. Closed up the unit and tested it and it works fine.
Ulrich ... Nice work on your buildings.
I have no model railroad progress at this time. .... We've been concerned about Shelley's sister in Nashville who had a heart attack this weekend. Doctors have corrected blockages in arteries, and she is recovering in ICU currently.

MisterBeasleyI think you should consider writing up some of your scratchbuilding efforts for publication. Things like that door really stand out as an example of the model builder's art.
Well, thanks for the kudos, but I don´t think I am good enough for that.
The results are OK - for a rookie in scratchbuilding. They buildings are a little crude, but I think I will improve along the way. The term scratchbuilding has a special meaning for me. I cannot afford any expensive imports of detail parts and accessories - like those windows and doors from Grandtline. I have to make everything myself, out of cheap and locally available materials. I am amazed how little you need - the buildinbgs I have made so far mainly consist of .8mm plywood or veneer, 2mm plywood, 4mm by 4mm basswood strips, Toilet paper forr roofing, if not shingles - that´s model railroading like back in the 1930´s, when all those kits and R-T-R things were not available.
It´s a train load full of fun (aside from my use of four letter words, when my fingers are glued together).
Ulrich, congratulations to Germany, not for what you think, but rather for Sunday's stage win by Tony Martin in the Tour de France. A magnificent performance by a strong and determined athlete.

... right here, busy w*rking on those buildings for my layout!
Bon soir, cher amis!
Aujourd'*** est le 14 Juillet, il jour de gloire Francais!
It has been a quite day - as if most of Germany is still in a state of agony following yesterday´s celebrations. I have to confess I did not even watch the final match - I went to bed around 10pm, hoping to get a good night´s rest.
I did not get much done today. After a rather sluggish morning, I dragged myself to the workbench and started out making a door.
There are some 30 tiny parts in that door...
I test-fitted it to the building, which required some wil filing action.
Still needs some cleaning and painting, but I quite like it!
I am not feeling up to par lately, must be the weather, which is playing roller coaster. Today´s high was a mere 16°C, with lots of ra*n, but tomorrow, temps will jump up to over 30°C. I think I´ll move to Alaska...
Jeff

Galaxy/All - I still need help with Photo up loads. I can easily enough down load to my computer. But after that I am clue less. I do not have "phot bucket" or any sort of thing like that set up and do not know how to set it up.
Thanks

Ps - How is Ulrich ?
Called the scrap yard and spoke with the head man whom I had a lot of questions for. One thing I found out is that the bolt pattern for the bell housing is the same from the first 318 to the last one made. My questions included what are the gaskets and seals like? All new. Also has new main bearing seals. Any bad or weak parts have been replaced with good ones. Not new but good. It has a new water pump, fuel pump and thermostat. Good carb is included. Total cost with purchase/installation is less than $1,200, less than a rebuild kit and significantly less than what a good used van or truck goes for in this area.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe just another cup of dark roast coffee, please.
I'm almost out the door to head to Boy Scout Camp for the day. Just waiting for one of my best friends (both in Scouting and outside ) to show up. He was a Scoutmaster back when I first came to teach here and got back into Scouting after My wife died. He is a gentleman who was a second grade teacher and one of the first around to be a "Blended Classroom" teacher. Meaning he taught a class with many students having various handicaps. He is an avid backpacker, taught the full meaning of the Scout Oath and Law to his Scouts, and has been in many leadership positions in the District over many, many years. He also was a Foster parent and he and his wife have raised 20 or so troubled kids as well as 4 of his own over the years. He had a mild heart attack a few years back and a year ago had a stroke. Hasn't slowed him down a bit. He is the other Commissioner for Pack and Troop 1, the local handicaped units. He will be 76 years young in a couple weeks!
Thanks for the comments about my experiences at the Musuem and my little layout project. Best wishes to all of you for a better day, each and every day!

~That Quote is from Maya Aangelou, who has so many good quotes and such a way wtih words, that I could quote her all year long and dot repeat any nad still have more to come!
My OWN favorite quote is the anonymous{?} {If not I don't who to atribute it to} "Everything is 50% what happens to you and 50% how you deal with it", about the same idea as Maya's quote today.
I never used to be that/this way. As a bi-polar individual, Good psychotropic meds and a conscious willfullness on my part to CHANGE MY attitudes has helped. I wasn't always the "upbeat "stable" guy" you see here. Depression, except in winter when SAD {Seasonal Affective DIsorder sets in}, is largely under control and I no longer spend 7-10 in bed straight! Now we are trying to control the manic part of my illness as it is getting out of hand, right now, really.
The "{God} Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference" Never worked for me, really, but for many it DOES.
When i do the morning quotes, I try to pick good inspirational ones that may motivate one all day long.
Oh, and I once saw Celiene Dion on Oprah talking about her {then} 4 year old boy. SHe said when he spends the day with his dad doing things, he comes home and once inside for the ngiht says {something to the effect of}: "wasn't today just a GREAT day, dad?"
~Now I am NOT a Picture poster, but if you have it on your phone, email it to your computer email, upload to the computer, then to photobucket or other photo service you use, and then to here the "usual way" and they say "biff, Bam, boom" you pich is here!
