 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer Please. Beer

Work Front I was on my feet most of the day, not with customers but retaging stuff for the Big Up Coming Sale! Zzz Personally I think it going  to be another bust like the one at the Fairview Height's store. His tag line is.

Emergency Warhouse Liquidation Sale 65% too 87% Off!

I am soory, but the tag line just sounds like so much Caboose to me. If I was a customer I would either think.

 1 BS

 2 They are selling Junk!

While we have some good deals, it is manily BS. Everyday all our Tags Read Sale Prices with a HIGH EVERYDAY price that we never sale at. Then a Sale Price that we can take 20% off of and even as high as 30% if we call Paul.

Did have a $20.00 down Layaway pay off today! Seldom they are paid off, but this one did! Big Smile Had a $180.00 Spiff if I did the math right! Yes  While I will not get paid all of it this month I have made around $1250.00 extra in spiff and just might beat draw and make normal commission this month all so.

Playing Phone Tag With My Lawyer Some More. Still do not know if ILL Hardest Hit made a $1047.00 payment for me or not? Whistling

See you all Friday, I am off.

Good evening. Temp:77°, humid:86%. Rain chance 70% with a good chance of locally heavy rainfall possible. Looks like rain all weekend.

Not much happened today. I changed the dressing on the new amputation site. I played a game of Star Fleet 1 on Zelda (Apple IIc). Diana (Apple //e) had a speaker going bad so I changed it out. I cleaned up some old microchips that had tarnished pins. Can't be having bad connections. Other than that I've been watching a bunch of A-Team episodes. Checked tracking this evening. My telescope started from Hubbard Ohio yesterday. Tonight it's in Memphis Tennessee.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Be nice to have some more warm sunny days before summer is done. As I have said before I like to gte alot of office supplies around this time as they are cheaper for kids going back to school so I will keep my eyes peeled for anything I need.

Talk to you guys tomorrow in the new shop. Is there anycahnce we can come to Southern Ontario Canada this month?

Afternoon folks!

Jeremy and YGW, my magazine showed up in todays mail.  It may have something to do with the shipping problems they have been having.  I remember a sticky back a month or so ago.  Maybe some change in the mailing protocal slowed things down???

Well, a deep subject!  I spent almost all day cleaning the dump I live in...  Lord knows it needs it!.  Just got a call from the Mom of the Scout I was to see tonight to do the Music MB.  He can't make it tonight.  I'm off the hook and can spend the evening doing some other pressing items I am very late getting done.  Like some Model Railroading.....

Old Man Sun showed for much of the day so far.  That means I will end the month ahead of last year with the solar panels.  I needed 16 kWh today to match last years total for July.  I was down cellar a while ago and the metter showed 17.5 kWh with 4 more hours of usable sunlight left in the day.  That means I am still ahead of the total so far from last year.

I am sitting here watching a pair of Morning Doves flying through the yard.  One pair has nested in my Flowering Quince.  They are on their (at least) 2nd. brood of chicks for this year.  There is another pair nesting in a tree in a neighbors yard acrosss the street from me.  I have also found out that the local squirrels have been enjoying the strawberries I planted last spring!  Nice of me to give them such a nice treat wasn't it....

I have a couple of packages I am waiting on.  Bought some items from Micro Mark and a much louder horn for the PiP.  I'm hoping it sounds more like an old ALCO, but probably won't.  It is rated at 135 dB.  That should wake up some of the idjuts out there on the road!

My oldest sister (The Reverend) turns 75 today.  She is the one with stage 4 cancer.  At the moment she is doing well on the new treatments and feels quite good for the moment.  Even has gotten back a lot of her strength.  I sent her a funney photo as an email and will get her card and present out in tomorrows mail.  Have to go to the Credit Union and get some "Pictures of Dead Presidents" to put in a card for her.  My family makes Birthdays and holidays into a more season type of thing anyway, so she won't mind something arriving a few days late...

Later!

Afternoon guys

Mail was delivered today and still no MR, I usually get it between the 25th and 28th, I cant recall anytime it has been later then that. Im sure it will arrive soon though.

Spent the morning cutting the lawn and cleaning up the gardens. It took a bit longer today because it has been a week since I was out there. I have to cut another lawn after dinner tonight. I cut it off and on and found out that it hasnt been cut since early July, I can only imagine what Im in for tonight. I sure hope the push mower gets through it. Its about as long as a football field and have visons right now of it being 2 feet deep Indifferent

I will be back later on tonight to let you guys know how it was.

Jeffrey, may that black cloud dissipate so you can use your telescope! Around here, we have so much light pollution that I'm afraid a telescope wouldn't let me see much of the sky.

That's the nice thing about being out in the sticks. The only 'light pollution' out here is from yard lights and it's not enough to be of any concern. On a clear night the sky looks fantastic.

It is amazing what you can see when you are out in the sticks, we just cant look at anything to the east as there is light polution{where the city is}, but 1/2 the east, and straight up and west is clearly visible. WHen there are no clouds that is!

I went grocery shopping and brought in only the cold/frozen sutff, then later made a trip for mroe stuff, took a nap, then brought in the rest now. Had to sore as all get out.

We go to Lowes to pay for the water heater, yippee.

Mornin'...

Zoe, can I get a quick refill for my dark roast coffee please?  Thank you Ma'am!

Currently 68°F outside on the last day of July here in the Finger Lakes.  High will be in the low 70's about the same time the daily thunderbommers arrive (Aroun 2 PM).  I need to make a quick run to the grocery store for a few items I need to finish cleaning house.  i will be spending the rest of the day trying to clean up this dump I live in.  One of the cats left me another "present" on the dining room rug this morning...  Has been hairball city here all year.  Manét has a thick undercoat and I get a handfull of hiar off him every time I comb him.  Probably need to spend more time keeping his hair brushed off so they don't end up eating so much of it then.........

Jeffrey, I'm enjoying the 12" to the foot scale shots you have been posting!

Catch you later!

Good morning. It's 72° with 83% humidity. We're expecting a fair chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. This activity should decrease by early afternoon. The high will be 85° and cloudy.

No plans for today other than to stay dry. I think I'll hook up the IIc today and play a game of Star Fleet 1. It'll give me a chance to hear the sound quality of the new speaker I put in it before my last hospital stay.

Good morning again.  Nice weather here in New England.  We are supposed to get some clouds and rain, but it's cool enough that we won't need the AC or even the fan the next few nights.

Galaxy, when I tore my rotator cuff, I had months of physical therapy.  I used ice cubes afterwards to calm down my complaining body.  Certainly not the best of times, but in the end I'm glad I did it, as I have full range of motion and strength.

Jeffrey, may that black cloud dissipate so you can use your telescope!  Around here, we have so much light pollution that I'm afraid a telescope wouldn't let me see much of the sky.

Tonight I've got a retirement party to go to.  I'm jealous.  This guy was eligible for the last Voluntary Layoff, and I wasn't.  Just getting together at Bertuccis for pizza and drinks afterwards, but it should be a nice evening.

For those who get BBC America, I'd recommend the "Musketeers" show.  It's just good, swashbuckling fun.  Yeah, good guys and bad guys get killed, but they don't ratchet up the gore like on some programs.  The characters are likeable, and if historical accuracy is stretched a bit, well, call it "artistic license" and enjoy the show.

Morning all

Jeff - Things will turn around. Did you read teh verse I recommended ? During some of my darkest days I had a friend tell me that "this to shall pass" from below the bottom of the souls of my shoes where I dwelt at that time I didnt believe him. BUT it is true. That light at teh end of teh tunnel is not a big boy headed your way to steam you over , it is the light of day with fresh cool air, greenery, blue skies and a reason to live. You have many things to be thankful for. Start "dwelling on those" think of the good things, positive things, beautiful things etc...

John Boy - what has you in a funk ?

Galaxy - I second your others comments. I do read your post every day. Keep them coming. You add value to this post and all of us.

Quick funny story. GALAXIES comments about the therapist reminded me of this episode in my life. After a severe knee injury, several operations I ended up at a therapist office. After signing in and waiting my turn I was finally called up. I hobbled over with my bad leg and sat on a bench end as instructed. The Therapist introduced herself - true strory here - as Miss Payne ! Guys I am here to tell you she LIVED UP TO HER NAME ! I still ache from her punishment ! She believed in aggresive physical therapy. Lord thise sessions were difficult and I was sure glad to get out of there !!!

Prayers to those in need. Hope all of you have a blessed and wonderful day.

OH PS - Forgot - train show coming here on August 9th - Yippy !!! Counting the hours !

Good evening. temp is 78 with 67% humidity. Partly cloudy. Looks like a nice night. I should have my telescope Friday, as in day after tomorrow. Naturally the forecast is for clouds and rain all weekend and the next week.

Nothing really special went on today. My doc reevaluated me for the wound vac yesterday and told Home Health to continue with it. So a nurse showed up today to reattach me to my ball and chain. Hopefully not for too much longer. The wound at the big toe amputation site is smaller than a quarter now, so maybe another week or two? Season Two of Star Trek Voyager should be here Tuesday. I picked it up for less than $30 so that's coming off my SS money. Just means I'll have to do without pork or chicken for August. No biggie.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Afternoon/evenin' folks!

Didn't get in here this morning as I had to head out to the museum for a Sr. Citizen Tour of the museum.  I am friends with a couple of the people who showed up.  One was a lady who taught next door to my classroom at the Middle School for many years.  Her "boyfriend", who was a Signal maintainer on the NYC Subway most of his career, was with her.  They both have about a dozen years on me.  They all got a good long tour putting me at odds with the folks at the other end of the line (other museum) because It was about twice as long as they are supposed to be....  been expecting a nasty email telling me not to do that again... Whistling

One other Docent came out to help.  We split the tour.  Then we sat around and talked model railroading for about an hour...  I got home about 1:30 in the afternoon, just ahead of the array of thunderboomers we have had all afternoon.  hence I am just getting on here now.

Galaxy,  I read your posts every day I can!  I enjoy the quotes, and lymerics, and other stuff you put there and it does brighten my day.  Hang in there!  I hope the PT will eventually help your pain and allow you to be more mobile.  I dated a lady for about 6 months who was an "Occupational Therapist" way back when.

Jeffrey, Glad you are OK.  I was worried about you last night!  Very glad the Doc changed your med!

I did manage to put another coat of stain on the bridge piers this afternoon.  Starting to look good.  Also found several other small spots that didn't get painted on the bridge itself, so I touched up those spots.  I will check it a couple more times as each time I seem to find spots I missed before.  I did count scratch built parts and added everything up.  The project will qualify as scratch buit for the NMRA Structures certificate if it earns enough points to be used.  I think it will be close....  doesn't need to earn a Merit Award, but does need to close to one to be used as a structure for the certificate.

I have been trying to clean house ion between everything else as I have company coming for a bit tomorrow night....

Catch you all later!

Hi all

At 53F when I went out this morning in long pants and a light jacket, not sure it is July? It is still only at about 72F out there as the sun went away.

Went to the Therapist at Mental Health, who is worried about my depression setting in. ANd rightly so. I forgot to mention how cerfull I try to b here in the morning so we have something more fun than just morngin groaning before coffee to start our days! I try to be as positive as I can to strat everyoen who reads my postss to start off on a cherry note, though, laterly I haven't been buying it myhself {depression}

I doubt anybody much reads the posts I do, but it marks a news day's postings. To thoughs of you who enjoy the "happy inspirational quotes" I am happy for you but I am thinking of takign them out, doubt they get read.

Went to PT, and got electrocuted and excesized to death by the PT Therapist from hell, who thinks everyone should be able to run 3 miles like she can, and spend 40 minutes of intense straining excersizes. No matter how you are strained [remember I am there to rehabilitate my back, not make it worse}, "do 4 more" she says. She has us doing things like the arm-cycle, which may have somehting to do with the back muscles, but pretty sure not much.I can barely move when I am done with her.

Jeffrey: Better than you , as I said I am deathly allergic to sulfa drugs. Glad you have a new hobby on starry starry nights! Come 6 month of the year we are lucky to see the sun in the day tiem, let alone stars at night here.

WILL SOMEONE DO SOMETHING about the screaming cat outside, she wails night and day! We figure she must be in season so she lets everyone know it!

dinner will be stuffed peppers.

Called my med complaint in to the doc and he's going to start me on Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). I've used it before with no ill effects.

Morning all.  Already went railfanning this morning, and got the most recent double heritage- the Reading and CNJ on the same N22 train heading south from Shire Oaks south of Pittsburgh.  Not sure what else to do today, but possibly will continue to work on my modular section of West Elizabeth I am doing for the club.  Later all.

(My Model Railroad, My Rules)

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway.  As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

Jeff: You will have to post some pics of your new telescope when it arrives.

Talk to you guys tonight, depending if I go straight home or just pop in to change before going out lawn cutting. Either which way I should be on tonight at some point

Has anybody heard from Jerry lately? I havent seen him on in awhile

well off to get ready to go.

Have a good day guys

Yawn.  Tuesday Night Hockey always makes Wednesday mornings drag.  We won, 20-19, which shows what brand of hockey we play.

Nice weather here this week, but we may be getting rain for the weekend.  Oh, well, I need the time for my layout.  I've still got my truss bridge to work on.  I want that done before I continue with trackwork on the far side.

Morning. Not much good about it here.
Temperature:70°F
Humidity:86%
Dew Point:66°F
High:92°

Only took the new antibiotic once yesterday and I was sick most of the night. Sweats, chills, vomiting, cramps. At one point I was pretty sure I was going to pass out and I think I did. I haven't taken any more of it since and I feel very sore this morning. I do feel better though. My doc will be hearing about this.

No plans.

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING!

July 30, 2014!

Healing energies go out

to those in need!

Positve energy fields

sent out to all!

Today's quotable quotes:

To keep your marriage brimming, With love in the loving cup, Whenever you're wrong, admit it; Whenever you're right, shut up. -Ogden Nash, poet (1902-1971)

Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.

Howdy ...

Not a lot of progress to report lately. Still working on track. Also, I have some engines awaiting decoder installations. I've been enjoying running trains.

JR ... Good t osee you back.

Todd. .. Been wondering about you too.

Ulrich ... You are doing a great job with your layout.

Ray .... I like the bridge you are making.

YGW ... Glad to hear your personal life has positive direction.

JohnBoy ... Good to see you

hmmmm Can't list everybody, but I hope everyone has good news in the days ahead. It's been a bit negative in here lately.
