Hi Guys
Have yo head out to work soon. last day today before off for a few to go to the race in toronto.
See ya tonight ( if I can find time )
well,
It is MORNING.
I don't feel much better.
I think having to rehash the accident and its complications to the therapist Once again, did more harm than good, but it had to be done. I am alreay feeling way down due to the fact that there is little pain relief.
I see the Doctor today and will push for PT. It may help, it may not, a good massage may work, it may not. I good stiff drink may help, it may not. Any of those, I think will only provide temporary relief.
I am so tired too.
Just atke me out behind the barn and shoot me to put me out of my misery.

Good morning. It's 68° with 80% humidity. The high will be 90° with a fair chance of rain. with Not much going on today. I'll be doing a little work on the //e this morning. This afternoon I have a doc appointment in town. I'm sure something will present itself in between.

Galaxy, I was feeling pretty down myself over this stupid new medication. I was physically beat every day, and wondered if it would ever get better. What I found, though, was that part of the problem was the heat. The outside temperatures moderated a bit, and I started noticing how much better I felt at work in the full-time AC. See how you feel over the next few days, with cooler weather at night. If nothing else, that should give all of us a better night's sleep. I'm half Scot and half Swede, so I'm not built for the heat. Pining for the fjords, too.
I also had another cheer-me-up event earlier. I used to be active on Sports Illustrated's NFL forum, but they revamped the site and took that part away. Suddenly, I lost a bunch of friends that I used to chat with every day. Well, earlier this week I got an e-mail pointing out where a bunch of the refugees had settled, and that gave my morale a tremendous boost.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Good evening. It's a nice 76° outside and the humidity is only 75%. A shame it's not clear. Looks like we may be getting some rain tomorrow. I have a doctor appointment at 3pm tomorrow so I'll be out for a while. Nothing went on today other than getting my wound vac dressing changed and watching some movies.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Good evening.
Thanks again for thoughts and prayers for my SIL. Prayers have proven to work again. She is doing much better, and they let her go home today. ... Those who mentioned their heart conditions have my understanding and prayers. I have been dealing with my own heart disease for several years. ...
Ulrich .... Your dock scene looks fantastic. You do good work and you do it quickly.
Not much model railroad news from me. I just ordered more track I need as I slowly build my extension. Currently, I have locomotives on the worktable with decoders I need to install.
Happy Model Railroading

That was two statements, shoulda had a comma or something there. "with only a bed, and myself in Hospital PJs", for "observation"."
Don't laugh,

New York state law dictates that a patient can be admitted "based on the claim that the person has a mental illness which is likely to result in serious harm to self or others and for which immediate observation, care and treatment in a psychiatric center is appropriate." If involuntary emergency admission is warranted, a psychiatrist will examine the patient within 48 hours to determine her status, and, if necessary, the facility can keep the patient for up to 15 days. If the psychiatrist recommends involuntary admission beyond that time, the patient "must meet the requirements for, and be converted to, an involuntary admission based on medical certification."Read more : http://www.ehow.com/list_6759290_new-health-involuntary-commitment-laws.html

A mouthy "watch" patient {screamer} gets sent to the sound-proof locked padded room for "safe keeping" while an aide stays watch at the bullet proof observation window in the door. Nothing is in one room, only a platform. SOme get strapped down for extra measure. anyone strapped in the chair or the bed usually gets worse as a screamer,so a sedative is administerd.
If. after 3-4 days, or 7-10 days, depending on your co-operation and observation, you can get "priviledges' and have the "basic rights of a "cooperative" "voluntaty in patient". NOTE: Remember They can automatically keep you for 15 days in involuntarly commited, and can renew that if waranted!
Note that what you may read in the first link is NOT neessarily what exactly happens. And it can take days even before you get to see your "abuse rights" counselor, thouhgh usually one is on hand the next 24 hours.

Janie, a cup of decaf would be nice.... Thank you Ma'am.

Sun is setting here in the Finger Lakes. It has been a very comfortable day in the low 70's today. Some sun off and on today so I decided to tackle the watersealing of the deck today. I have a 3/4 of it done. I also have some sore muscles... The horizontal (upright) railings still had enough protection from the last time that they didn't absorb much waterseal. The Horisontal (Railings and deck) just soaked it in quickly... Only reason I didn't finish it today is that I will have to move the grill, picnic table, and large chairs over onto the part that is done before getting the job finished. If the weather is good that will happen of Friday, hopefully.
Got a call from the Business Manager at Boy Scout Camp letting me know the new speakers were delivered today. he will set up a time for me to come down and with a couple people helping remove the bad speaker and install the new one. I will then take the speaker to Rochester. I'm hopeing we can get the changeout done in the next feew days as I would like to drop off the speaker when I am in Rochester on Monday for a meeting at the new Boy Scout Council Office.
Have done as much as I can get done with the bridge until a couple packages of Bridge Shoes are delivered. I was hoping they would arrive today, but maybe they will tomorrow.
Guess I'll head down cellar for a few minutes and see what trouble I can get myself into...

YGW,
Well I don't know about the rest of the World....But here in the Chicago area, you can pick up that flange and all the other parts I mentioned, from any Home Depot, Lowes, Menard's, ace hardware store in the plumbing dept and we even have some Ma&Pa lumber yards around here that cater to the plumbers. The going price for that flange 1 1/4 is 4.49.
Take Care !

Have been looking at Submittals all day at w**k , talk about eye strain ! Right now they feel liek sand paper has been rubbed across them. They feel blood shot ! No site w**k today, rained heavy and teh excavators have been w**king 6-10s. I think they saw this as a good excuse to get some time off ! Cant blame them, one can only go so much. Had a scare this morning my GF calls me and is in tears. Her daughter fainted. I made her take her to the saw bones. Of course they do not know why she fainted. More test to come.
Frank - I am not sure the fittings would be so easily attainable and cost effective these days. Lot has changed in the industry over the past few years. They just dont have the skilled trades people they used to. So much these days is prebuilt.
Garry - Howdy ! How are you ?
Jeff - Phew , glad to hear you are not in worse shape from the fall. Keep us posted. I was expecting to hear you had been hauled out in an ambulance !
Ulrich - looking good on the models.
Gallaxy - Keep your chin up this is onloy temporrary and life will improve. I have a tag on my email "life is not about surviving the storm it is about learning to dance in the rain. Enjoy the trip" beleive me I have had to remind myself many times with this having been through the death of my mother when I was 16, divorce , death of second wife, severe auto accident, .... keep your chin up. Ask not why me Lord, but ask what Lord are you trying to teach me through this ?
Prayers to all in need

Galaxy - I am really sorry to hear that you are slipping into the "Great Depression". Honestly, after what you have been through lately, it is no wonder that you do. If there is anything I can do from here to cheer you up a little, please let me know. Petra and care for you, ya knows!
In a state of frenzy, I ripped of the fascia boards from the other building and replaced them with a little smaller ones. 1mm can make a lot of difference!
I have a doctor´s appointment tomorrow early in the afternoon, so there will be only little time to do some more w*rk on the buildings. I will get a full physical, a vampite will draw a lot of blood, my heart will be looked at and another CAT scan will be done. That will take to the evening, so don´t put me on the MIA list, should I not report in during the day.
Calling it a day, but not yet heading for beddy bye . I will watch some old (1960´s) movie, starring Doris Ann Kappelhoff, which some of you may know under the name of Doris Day. "It happened to Jane" has some nice railroading scenes in it.
Good Night and CU tomorrow!
galaxywith only a bed and mysef in Hispital pjs "for observation".
I saw the thearpist at mental Health.
Actually a warning to All: My usual bubbly happy go lucky inspiring-quoting, limerick listing vibrant self is waning fast. I am sinking into a deep depression as likely due to the accident adn all the troubles it has entailed. I had to "go over my feelings about it" with her and it wasn't coming up roses, daisies or rhododendrons, i'll tell you that!
I am in more painf for not doing much of anything than i was before the accident at my worst of times!
That nad the fact taht everybody is shoving it off or should I say shrugging it off. The agents. the insurance copanies the lawyers, etc. WE will see what my DR.. days tomorrow, I am hoping for ophysical therapy maybe that wil help, as knocking me out doesn't!
Dunno, but I am slipping into a depression and for me that is no small matter it can wind me up in the psych ward a the hospital real fast again! Even if I go willingly, they can check me in "against my will" under "suicide watch" in a plain room with only a bed and mysef in Hispital pjs "for observation".
Well I have sat here long enough typing this crap htat my back now says "ENOUGH!" I mUST change positions, I wil hobble down to get the mail and see what other bad news it brings!
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a short stack of blueberry pancakes with real NYS Maple Syrup and a cup of Seneca Lake Blend Dark Roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug please. (Keep the pot handy too...)
Currently 69°F here in the Finger lakes Region with a high of 71°F soon. Nice day out there. I may do a bit of sealing the deck today. needs to be done. i never got to it last year so it has been 4 years since the lat coat.
Ulrich, the verdict is...... WONDERFUL!!! Absolutely great scene!
V8 Dennis, so, you never learned to play kickball? That explaines a lot.... I learned that on the farm when I was about 3. My father played semi-pro baseball for a couple of summers back when he was a Music Teacher and before I was born.
Hopefully I will get a bit more done with the overpass on the layout today.
Have a great day out there!
Good Afternoon, Folks!
Janie, coffee and a donut, please!
Jeff - glad to hear you are feeling better today. Take care, please!
Garry - I am also glad to hear that your SIL is on the mend. The hard part is yet to come - to find out what finally caused it and then change life so it won´t happen again. I myself am still in the process of trying to find that out. Eating habits and stress are the parts I have identified, but there are still some unknown factors.
I had plans to make more windows today, but decided against it, when I looked at the blue building this morning. I don´t know exactly what it was, but it looked wrong to me. I was just about to scrap the whole building and start anew with it (would not have been a big loss - about $ 5, aside from the many hours of w*rk I have put into it), but decided to give it another chance. So I spent a few hours on changes to it. The result is astonishingly pleasing - I will keep it.
Before:
... and after:
With the help of my magic weathering powders, the blue now looks more in line with what I wanted to have.
Has the jury come to a verdict?
Have a great day!

No matter what you're going through, there's a light at the end of the tunnel and it may seem hard to get to it but you can do it and just keep working towards it and you'll find the positive side of things.
Positive feelings come from being honest about yourself and accepting your personality, and physical characteristics, warts and all; and, from belonging to a family that accepts you without question.

Work Front Well I am getting real sick of theses substanderd paychecks! Yes, I have a good month going but with the way they changed when they pay the commission I have yet to see a Dime Of It! So far this month I have earned around $850.00 in spiffs which is real good for only 15 days! On the old system I would have all ready recived theses funds. Living on just $9.00 a hour is hard! (I know, there are folks here that have less than I) What really bites my Caboose is when the check with the Spiffs do get here taxes are just going to eat it up!
Health Front, Looks like my changing life style is starting to pay off! My Dr called me today at work ( I was stunned ) and went over my blood test wit me. Little back ground, when I had my hand surgery on Feb 22 my A1C was at horrable 8.5! (My Old VA PA had not order a test in a year) Around March I had another one done, it was down to a 8.1 so there was prgress I guess. Last Friday I had another one done. While still high, it is now 7.1 so I am happy for now.
My Dr wants to wait till the next test before he changes any of my meds. I have not quit been lifting for a month yet. So with working out maybe I will get it down to my low of 2 years ago of 5.9.
Other Benafit is I do not feel like a weaklin now. Far from where I want to be but much better than before!
Jeffery Glad you are feeling better!

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
jeffrey-wimberly Sir Madog For cryin´ out loud, Jeff - you got me worried! Sorry about that. Mr Murphy is getting on my nerves. Thank you everyone for the concern and special thanks to those who are helping me with my transportation problem.

Heartland Division CB&Q Howdy Diners. Jeff ... I hope you you feel okay now. YGW .... Good to see you! Everybody .... Thanks for your prayers and for your concern about Shelley's sister in Nashville. She had 95% blockage in one artery which was corrected with a stint. Another artery has 60% blockage, but did not need a stint. I'm not sure how much damage was caused by the heart attack, but hopefully not too much. Remarkably, an EKG she had only a week or two before the attack showed no problems. Prayers definately are answered. Thanks again.

Garry you are, of course more than welcome for the healing energies I sent here way, and the extra candle I lit for her.
SOmetimes things don't show up when they should and others show up when less expected.
Point is, I had it showed for me up when "not necessary" and you sister's didn't show up "when necessary"! Heres what I mean:
I have "light" cardiology issues, that showed up in the ER while I was there for another reason! {The DOc came in the Er room and said "you dind't have a heart attack, but there is an anomoly on your EKG"} One issue, later, any way, the other reared its ugly head later as I would almost pass out when My heart acts up and won't beat correctly. I did, about 10 years ago, have a 35% and a 10% blockage, I guess just ticking timebombs till they get to the magical 75% to fdo something about! WIth 2 medications, Mine is "controlled" about all we can do for now.
wel, I am up later than usual as I finally broke down and took another "accident pill". It knocks me out for awhile, so now my schedule is messed up. I see the Mental Health Therapist tomrrow early AM so i'd best get some rest tonight.
Janie, as cup of decaf would hit the spot right now....
I have been using today as a day to get a lot of odds and ends done that I have been putting off for the last couple weeks. My CPAP supplies arrived in the mail so I just changed out all the old parts that get replaced with some new ones. Got a bit more done on the bridge I am building. I am changing the plans to be half way between a bridge over near Phelps, NY and the one I have in the drawing by Harold Russell. I also put in several more blocks in the grade fill leading up to where the overpass bridge will be on the layout. These now have to be cut to fit the space and so require some carefull use of my power saws.... Don't want to loose any fingers! Photos soon.
The official National Weather Service report on yesterday's Storm that hit Canandaigua is that the tornado didn't completely form and they say the storm was a small but powerful Microburst. My sister called this morning and told me she didn't have any damage but she did have some torential rain and strong winds at her house. She said it was still scary and her cats were in hiding during it.
Jeffrey, glad you are feeling better! You had us worried last night.
Garry, glad to hear your SIL is improving. Will keep her in my prayers for a complete recovery.
The Operations Superintendent out at the R&GV RR Museum has recently sent some emails to our membership refering to some unsafe behaviors that have happened at the museum in the last couple weeks that involve members (ones not working train crew I might add) out there when we are open. Some have not been following rules we have to ensure safety of our members and guests when we are running trains. A few have openly said they know what they are doing and since they are members they don't have to follow rules set for the public...... RIGHT! I told one of the crew when the subject came up last week that most of the problems I have dealt with on safety issues have been from our own membership. The Superintendent reinforced his thoughts on the subject today by sending this to all our membership! The first time I took Rules Class the instructor (who is now the President of the Museum and is an engineer for CSX) started out by telling us that every rule in the book is written in someone's blood! Someone was seriously injured or died before the rule was added to the book. Take each rule seriously as if your life depends on it! It does!!!
BTW.... Know what? You have to be playing your iTunes awful darn loud not to hear a 5 chime!!!
Getting pretty close to bed time for me I think. Still trying to catch up from last weekend...
Prayers for all in need!
Sir MadogFor cryin´ out loud, Jeff - you got me worried!
Jeff - good to hear your back is starting to ease up, pain-wise. You had me (and a few others) concerned for a time there. Good to hear you're feeling a bit better now. Sent you a PM.
Garry, hope Shelley's sister continues to improve!
Two words about 'the office'...
Later.
Blessings & prayers for those in need of same,

jeffrey-wimberly Good afternoon. My back felt much better this morning so I told David not to bother with anything. But I thought it best to get more rest. So I stayed in bed until 2pm. It still hurts but is only a dull ache now. I'll be back around later.

Strong healing energies sending your way!
Good to hear you are "O.K". {I guess you are}.
I knwo back pain all too well.
For cryin´ out loud, Jeff - you got me worried!
A healing prayer is being sent out to you!
While Petra and I were watching a rather stupid (German) movie in the idiot box, my mid kept wandering to those 7 windows I have to make to complete the wharf buildings. I know now how to simplifay and therefore speed up the construction. I will organize a sub-miniature assembly line for that purpose. I will also lift those side boards from the blue building. They are just too big. I think the look of the building will improve if I make them about half as wide. The ones on the roof as well.
Well, it´s past 10pm and I am tired. I join the ranks of Jeff and Galaxy, sharing their back pain. It´s the bloody chair at my desk which gives me a nagging pain when sitting on it for more than 5 minutes. I should get a new one, but I don´t have the necessary $$$ for it.
CU tomorrow and have a good night!
