Good Morning All:

Well another lost work day due to vehicle problems.  Got in the truck last night to go to the kennel turned the key and nothing happened.  Tow truck just hauled it away to the shop.

Sakel, I can draw with my keyboard also, the trick is taping the pen to the keyboard so you can see the paper as you draw.

Jeffery thanks for posting the information yesterday. Makes me feel a little better to know this is normal.Sad thing now that I have stopped drinking Beer I am eating more. That sure does not help.

VA Hospital Trip Today Got to go and have my blood flow checked out today. Wounder if there any chances of getting fitted with Diabetic Shoes today? This stupid boot is making my hip hurt and  I swear I am going to break my neck wearing it.

You're welcome on the information but it's only as good as you make proper use of it. You gotta control your desire to eat. Channel that desire elsewhere. I control it by working on the layout. You need to be very careful with that boot or you may very well break your neck. I have a compacted disk in mine because of it. On the diabetic shoes, you're still at the stage where getting them is relatively easy but they'll likely be hesitant as long as you have a wound that's draining.

Good morning. It's 81° and it already feels like 87°. The high will be 95° but will feel like 110°. There's a chance for rain.

The drive in my number three Frankenstein F unit was damaged in a wreck yesterday so I'll be rebuilding it today. I don't know yet the extent of the damage but it sounds serious. The shafts are turning but the gears in the bottom of the trucks are not. This is a rebuilt Proto/Kato drive with associated Proto trucks. I may replace it with a refurbished Athearn drive. The Proto motor will work fine on that and the Athearn drive will carry the weight of the Varney body well. Updates will be provided as they become available.

I feel much better today than I did at the beginning of the week. My blood sugar this morning was an easy to live with 107. What other plans life has for me today I don't know. I'm planning on mowing my parents yard this weekend but will probably do it before then as the weather is looking dicey again.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a couple eggs over easy and an English muffin to go with a pot of dark roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug to start the day.

Supposed to be a pleasant day here in the Finger Lakes today.  Currently 76°F with a high around 81°F later this afternoon. Cloudy but no rain forecast.

While I was sitting finishing my morning coffee and doing a crossword puzzle, the mail truck stopped the mailboxes along the street....  THAT usually happens late afternoon.  Guess they may have changed the routes again?

Darren, another great clip!  The engineer needs to watch the throttle or use a bit more sand coming out of the station and up the grade.  Supervisors never liked to see what he did..... WhistlingLaugh  Nice to see a pair of old Overland coaches too!

I have a day and a half's stuff to do this morning....  This afternoon I will stop and pick up the hard drives on my way to the Musuem.  I will be working crew tonight for the Membership meeting.  During the Summer we mett at the museum so all of us get to, ah,  "Insect the ROW and equipment".....  Yep, that's it we are doing our civic duty to make sure everything is in proper order while we ride behind a 1940's vintage diesel up and down the line.......

Prayers going out for Ulrich and all the others in need this morning.

Good morning!  It's only in the 70s today, after almost a week over 90.  We had a monster storm system come through yesterday.  Watching from my office window, it was a pretty spectacular light show, and it looked like a tropical downpour with the wind whipping the trees.  I headed home after it cleared at the end of the workday, expecting to see downed trees, but the storm was so localized that the streets didn't even get wet beneath the trees, only 15 miles away.  Thousands without power in some towns, but our lights didn't even flicker.

No static grass machine yet.  Nothing makes me check the mailbox every day like waiting for train stuff to arrive.

Jeffrey, is that weathered car photo a model or a prototype?  Either way, it's a great image.

 Late Morning Folks?

 Flo Diet Dew Please

Getting ready to head to the VA Hospital, hope they don't want to keep me again!

Looks like we have some Lightning heading our way. Can't believe I am saying this but I hope we get some rain.

Jeffery How far apart do you have your meals? I am guessing that will help keep the blood sugar down some. When you are hungry and have to have a snack, what do you eat?

Blood sugar was 204 when I did my drip. Took my med's just before, around 9:00 AM. Ate two waffles and blood sugar was down to 184. Checked it because I was feeling sleepy. I felt better when I was drinking.

 See you all later.

I usually have two to three meals a day. A couple of sandwiches, Chimichangas with chili, a couple of small Banquet dinners or maybe a sandwich with a bowl of Ramen noodles. A snack may be a small bowl of rice or a piece of sausage on bread or a small can of Vienna sausage if I have any on hand.

Fellow diners, I have a message from ULRICH-

He is home resting, and wishes to express his Thank-yous for the care and concern the Diner patrons have shown him. He is NOT up to posting at this time as he is weak and exhausted. It appears he will avoid a major surgery for now.

We will continue PRAYERS for him and I will have an extra candle lit for him!!!Angel

WHAT have I done today? What HAVE I done today? What have I done today? What have I DONE today? MORE like what HAven't I done today!!!

Gone running around and shopping and vehicle repairs and banking and this and that and all...I am EXHAUSTED NOW. Time for nap now!

Afternoon guys

Got my car back from the tint shop. I had my mom's car, so I picker her up on her lunch break. We ate at popeyes which was packed. Then she dropped me off to get my car. I'm taking it to the shop to install subframes when my father gets back from work around 3. Shouldn't take them too long to weld it all up.

The only issue is there is some big rain storms coming, so IDK if I'll be bolting in the seat brackets (Front seats originally bolts to the unibody floor, but will now bolt through the floor and subframes to a locking nut) or painting the subframes (I bought unpainted as opposed to paying $60 more for powdercoating, which has to be ground off in several spots for welds) today. My welder at home isn't strong enough for this task, otherwise I'd have done it myself.

I haven't tried Jeff's suggestion with my SD7, yet. I have looked at the board and there is nothing between the motor wires and the 9-pin plug. I'll try it either tonight or tomorrow though, and if it doesn't work I'll just wait to get a TCS A6X back from TCS. I could hardwire it, but I don't know what the mA rating of the bulb is, or what resistors to use.

Sakel, what brand is that car? Intermountain or Exactrail? I have an athearn RTR I weathered, but it doesn't have cut levers like yours.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

How old is your camera? I'm using an Olympus D550Zoom that uses a SSFDC Smart Media card to store photos. I estimate it was made around 1998-2000. As digital cameras go it's almost prehistoric.

I estimate yours is a bit newer. Your photo data ID's it as a Canon Powershot A400. That came out in 2004.

Yes, with all the camera talk there it kinda got lost...

But...Ulrich is resting fine and is tired and exhausted. Apparently he had quite a bit of a scare, but it appears, for now at least, not to be as nasty as it could have been. I DO hope that continues to be true for him!!!

Please Keep the prayers up for Ulrich and OThers who have heart issues or what-not!!!

 Evening Dinners!

Flo, Beer please, but just one.

Just got back from the VA Hospital and got some pretty good news. Surgeon said the wound looks Beautiful? I would have used a different term, but I will take it! She cut away some dead callas (hope that is the right word or Todd will be LOL) and and at one point cut just a little to deep! My toe bleed like a stuck pig! She said that was great, means I have very good blood flow to my toes! Hum, my blood on the floor is good? Again, I will take it!

Thursday I am getting a Artificial Skin Graft on my toe! She told me it will cut the healing time by 3/4's. Now if I cam just get the darn pick line of my arm I will be a happy man!

Job Front, yep I still have a job. Hum, I wonder if that is a good thing? I have a written letter from the VA that states I can go back to work on the 27th. He was tickled to hear I would be back. He wants me to see if I can come back sooner. Finally I am appreciated, might be time to ask for a raise or a shop. Oh, he fired Craig and has 2 people for me to train.

Jeffery Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all my questions.

 See you all later!
