Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a cup of dark roast coffee and a couple of those sour cream glazed donuts over there on the counter this morning.

Garry, you will be in my prayers as well tomorrow.  yes, do stop by as soon as you can after the surgery to let us know you are OK.

Jeffrey, how's your mom doing?

Currently 80F here in the Finger Lakes under gray skies with a chance of thunderboomers and lots of humidity....,.,..

I will over at my son's house most of the afternoon babysitting #2 Granddaughter.  I could have had her come here, but the place is a mess and she would run out of things to do before her Mom gets back from Rochester.  I should have fun.....

Hope you all have a safe and wonderful day!

Later!

  Good morning ALL,

Expected high today of 98, but low humidity as usual.

I have a closing shift today so go in to work from 1:00 to 9:00

I know I have only been in the diner a day or two, but I have read some of the posts here, and on other topics, so I feel like I know some of you already.

Garry I am sorry but I do not know what type of heart surgery you are having. I had a double by-pass in Jan 2004, and can do everything I did before the surgery, and some things better. Good Luck,

Jeffery, I hope you mom is doinig well.

My prayers go out to all of you that need them. We can use some prayer here also. Two weeks ago rushed my wife to hospital with severe stomach pains. Had a perforated bowel, Took 2 surgeries to fix, but found a Lymphoma. Waiting for results, hope to know by Friday.

Late Afternoon in the diner...
Posted by galaxy on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 2:18 PM

well, well,

went to my fathers for a visit.  That was nice. Hot, but nice. Humid out there. supposed to get worse.

That is about it.

MOH got called into work good as we can use the money it wil bring in.

Got a headache started,,,don't know if from heat, sugar dropping, weather change or what..but it is starting to get bad. May have to resort to migraine medications as Excedrin ain't working. I'm pre diabetic and my sugar goes wild every once in awhile, but I am not yet diabetic. Causes just as much problems as a diabetic's when it acts up!

Don't think I get much else done then!

Dizzy and leght headed too...already ate somehting, may have to resort to somehting else to raise it...

Evenin' folks!

Janie, I'll have a dozen Mahogany Clams, some sweet corn on the cob, and a glass of lemonade please....

Well (getting replentished today), we done had about 3/4" of precipitation over the last couple hours, we did.....  Most of it in one 15 minute massive downpour!  Now it's just a light rain outside.  I was just starting supper when I saw some flashes of light and heard "rummmmbbbble, rrrrummmble, KA-BOOM!  Rummmmmbbble, rummmbbbbbbllllleeee, rumble....."  So, I figured it was time to shut everything off for a while.......  I have figured out how to be able to play my iTunes library that is on the iMac on the other two computers without having to connect the hard drive with all the tunes to them...  I can now play tunes down in the train room without using the CD player...... Smile, Wink & Grin  I also connected the Mac Mini to the 12 channel mixer I have down there so I can play stuff through the old near field monitors....

Jeffrey, did you paint the ceiling?  Nice video.

Been considering getting a cell phone.  Now I didn't say camera, texting box, email reader, voice messaging system,  Internet service, or tunes player with ear buds....!  Just a cell phone.  I may have to be able to be contacted when I am not home after I have the Solar Panels installed.  NYSEG needs to be able to contact me for access if they have an emergency and have to shut down the system for any reason.  I also plan on doing some traveling this fall and it would be good to have an emergency phone to use.  Is there a way to block all but about half a dozen people from calling me???  I really don't want to be opening up the durn thing every 20 seconds to see who is sending me an advertisement........  I can only think of 5 people who will ever get the number from me.

You know, that would be great on regular phones also.....  It would keep me from having to turn around while sit at the computer and look to see what %&$^%* is calling me!  I hate telephones!

Catch you later!

Jeffrey, did you paint the ceiling?  Nice video.

That wasn't the ceiling you were seeing. It's a patch of wall between fourteen and twenty-two inches above the layout. You gotta go up about another foot and a half to get to the ceiling.

Good evening Diners: Thought I'd check in before the month ends and the Diner moves again. Sorry so many are unwell, or having surgery. Prayers for all, especially those I'm aware of by a quick browse of the last few pages. Angel  Zoe, could you fix a broiled pork chop on a soft dinner roll with mushrooms and blue cheese dressing? A side of zucchini cooked just so it squeaks on the teeth would be good too.  Sweetened stewed Blackcurrants over butterscotch ripple ice cream for dessert, and black coffee, thanks.

Ryan: good to see you back again.Thumbs Up

Heard from Dick (Greyfox)  He had 3.34 inches of rain in an HOUR in a TS the other day!  Still, he didn't get washed off his hill top. LOL

Not much mrr lately, but have been running trains a bit, and sorting places on the layout that need attention. One Cds cell in a in-tunnel sensor is balky - a soldering situation that I haven't been able to nail down. Not much room to work in there!

I'll sit and chow through my dinner. - Oh, delray1967 Welcome, hope you enjoy the company.

See you in August - which has two full moons, making the second IIRC a Blue Moon.

 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer Pleases.

I am typing this post first on a Micro Soft Document. Ulrich likes to move the dinner right as I am making a post.

Work Front, Sort of glad to be back. Feet hurt, but they all wise did after 9 hours. This time maybe a little worse than normal but nothing bad. Seems my employee number has been deactivated, what that means is I did not make any commission today. I had to use’s Dave’s number and password.

Got off at 6:00 PM and drove about 600 feet, tried to stop? No Brakes to speak of. Was able to limp the car back to the shop. Seems one of my brake lines rusted thought. Sue picked me up and I just called Ricky at work. Seems all the brake lines need to be replaced, great just what I need. But luckily I get a big discount on labor, hope to get it done for under $100.00.

Paul, good to see you in the dinner!

Well I am beat I drop by Wednesday before I go in.

Time for me to call it a day. Almost felt hot enough to melt rocks together today. High 99 with a heat index over 111. Tomorrow is bill paying day so I probably won't have much chance to get anything done. Today I stripped an E7 drive so it's just the frame, motor/flywheels, shafts and trucks. I may be sending it to someone to use as a parts source. See y'all tomorrow.

Evening folks.......  What?  Oh nothing.....

Janie, how about a glass of iced tea for me at the moment.  Thank you Ma'am.

Don't think I told you earlier that my son and DIL got mixed up on the MIL's work schedule.  They didn't need me to babysit the little one after all....  Hmmmm, maybe they are trying to fix me up with his MIL???   This has happened more than once in the last year.  LOL  Son has gotten a good start on the woodpile already.  He has cut and split a good chunk of the maple tree they had taken down.

I came home and got some things done for the rebuild.  Tested and smoothed out about 100 of the precut PCV board ties from Fast Tracks, got the iTunes running beautifully down there (great having my entire collection available (well over 8,000 tunes in full AAIF resolution) to play.  Had some Kieko Matsui, David Benoit, and Spira Gyra going for a bit!  Finished putting down the most of the ties on the lower route in the room.  Now I am just waiting on Fast Tracks turnout ties to be delivered so I can get the rest of the turnouts out in place.

Ended up getting .8 inches of rain today, meaning we actually will end up the month with about our normal July rainfall even though most of the month was drought conditions!  The Farmers and gardeners have to be delighted!  Corn is now looking good around here.

Ken, I bet it did feel good to be back at work, even if they did start out gyping you out of pay the first day back....  Hope they get your # reactivated soon....  From everything you have said about these type of things going on, I don't think I'll be trusting the place with my vehicles anytime soon.....  Back when I was having the roof put on the house, I mentioned to the Code Officer about how good a job, polite, and hard working every person in the crew was.  He shrugged his shoulders and said, "He treats them well and pays them well......"  Might be something to be learned by corporations there!

Jeff, hoping you get some good news about your Mom tomorrow!

Garry, my prayers for your surgery tomorrow!

And....  Prayers for everyone else as well!  have a good and afe night!
