Well,well
According to Time Warner Cable's YNN news channel, apparently there were 4 tornadoes in the area of the Twin Tiers {New York's SOuthern Tire adn PA's Northern Tier} confirmed form Thrursday's strom. Some are still without power until Sunday?. Damage estimates NOt in yet. They were all EF-1 tornadoes, wind speeds 90-110 MPH. The Office of state emergency was around, and Gov Cuomo wants immediate reports and offers help. State of Emergency is still in effect for all of Chemung County. I believe the Feds disaster team has been here too.
Enough of that..Looks like RAY's way has some hnasty storms but he only reports rain! Good for him! Solar panels don't work so hot when rainy, huh RAY?
Well, I shoudl get on with chores went to the grocery store and got 2 money orders for something that only accepts money orders and picked up " a few things" spent alomst $50 for "a few things". and came out with only 2 bags!

We did have a bunch of thunderboomers overnight, but nothing like you folks had Thursday!
Oh, and not to worry as the Solar Panels haven't been installed yet. When THAT is done I expect lots of rain, dark and cloudy days, and heavy snow this Winter..........

Hey fellas, had a stacked week with Vacation Bible School at the church and also working on the layout; I have all the track laid! Pics are over on the first page of WPF, or click here
Also, click here for an update video
The plan for today is to absorb NASCAR racing at the Brickyard with qualifying and the Nationwide race. I didn't watch much of the Grand Am race yesterday, but what I did watch seemed pretty good. Aaron has been out of town this past week and this week ahead, so I have some time to relax and work on both some art ideas and the layout.
Anyways, hope everyone has a good day! and Chad, I'm speechless at that loco, great job!

Went to town earlier to get some gas to last for what little is left of the month. $25 got me a little over seven and a half gallons. That gives me what I need plus a little extra. Maybe I'll be able to afford a new windshield wiper motor next month. It only costs about $50 I don't have.
Afternoon folks!
Chloe, a nice tall glass of lemonade would hit the spot right now.
I have been feeling yucky all day... Achy, sore, sleepy....., just not up to par. My sugar was fine this morning, but I have been having a touch of indigestion. Had mostly fruit for lunch and think I will do the same for supper. Past hour or so I have been feeling better. May have something to do with some BBQ I did last night for supper... Might not have gotten completely cooked. I will throw out what was left from it just in case...
I have been doing wash most of the day so THAT is an excuse to do stuff in the train room.... I got the rest of the ballast glued in place on the lower staging tracks. Just have to do some cleaning up of particles where they don't belong and I can move onto a bit of weeds and grass and rusty track along there.
Hope you are having a great Saturday!
Garry, Katje doesn’t mind lightning and thunder so far, last night we were in the back yard as the storm approached and she didn’t mind. The night I brought her home someone was shooting off fireworks and she ignored those so I might be lucky with this one. My last chocolate Labrador would crawl into bed or hide under the table during storms. Have you tried that thunder jacket for dogs? I hear they really work.

.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage......the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter......the cows are giving evaporated milk......farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
Well, dinner will be oven roasted beef, potato, and sweet corn on hte cob.
Better get to it!
Duplicate post
I BUY so eat up..or rather have some of my roasted beef, potatoes {or potatos?} and sweet corn on the cob!
Evenin' and supper time I think.
Guess I have a couple ears of sweet corn that Galaxy brought in and probably just have an apple to go along with it. Still not terribly hungry, and meat just doesn't sound appealing tonight. I am feeling much better than I was this morning. I think the problem was very likely last nights chicken. I started to feel better after I took a couple capsules of Pro-Biotic.....
Finished up the ballasting earlier on the lower staging. Still needs a lot of stuff done to get it where I want it, but the hard stuff is done for this level.
Also did a couple more feet of hand cut, creosoted (stained), and laid ties in place.... The track I am doing now is on the left. The photo was taken about half way down the line. What you see is over 6' in length.
Waiting for some Fast Tracks Turnout ties to get the turnouts done and in place for it.

Train Front I am feeling pretty good right now. I have got F's pulling freight all over the places!
Fixed the X Ray shells on the MRC Santa Fe F7A's today, they finally got on my nerves. Cab still light's up, but I like it. They pull great, dragging 28 car's like there is nothing behind them.
Finally switched the Proto 1000's F3 Monon Shells to UP shells that Vines did not want. Glad I did, like having new engines on the layout. Theses are the newer ones I bought last month. For $70.00 for a power pair they are a steal. There are 12 left if anyone wants them.
2-10-2 I was this close! Finally got the wire's ran around the weight in the boiler for the headlight. Got all the solder joints done. (did not heat the shrink wrap yet) tested on the MR3 and all was good. Shell was still not mounted, but I wanted to check the headlight so off to the layout I went. Hit the address and gave it a little power, jumped like a frog. Need to play with the CV's. Tried the headlight and it worked, for awhile.
Looks like I will be installing a LED and it is going to be a pain! Jeffery I am guessing you took it apart to paint it. Taking off and installing the front of the boiler is a pain in the Caboose!
On a different subject Jeffery. Can you post a picture of your windshield wiper motor? There is a chances I may have one.
See you all later.

Today I got what should be my final Abraham Lincoln commemorative coin and a certificate of ownership of an entire collection from the American Mint. It's taken it's place in the coin case with other Abraham Lincoln coins, the 1854 gold double eagle and the 1933 'Liberty' twenty dollar gold piece.

sakel Is that staging removeable?
Hey Sam!
It could be. I would have to cut the rails right as it enters the tunnel at the end of the photo. But unless I am moving the layout, I prefer that the track is continuous through all of staging.
BTW, track in the lower photo leads to the lower staging tracks. It will switch to Atlas flex track just as it enters the tunnel going to the left of the photo.
Evening All,
Back from the club. Training was a bust. Couldn't hear a thing through the crowd, but there was free pizza. Always a good thing. Not looking forward to w**k as it will be Africa hot without rain.
Ray- Nice looking work on the layout.
Ken- I feel your pain with the loco.

We went and saw Dark Knight Rising...megh...good special effects but it seemed that the acting was not up to par...

Mr. G , thats a very good idea. Thankyou. Since I've already breakfasted and am on my third cup of coffee, I'll go into the oven, I mean the garage, and run a train around both loops.
Prayers for all. Have a pleasent day.

Good Morning
Sunny and cool outside right now..going to a high of 82F feeling like 88 today...going to be pretty much the same temperature range with heat index around 88F to 95F all week by the looks of things...
Going to find some things in various closets around here that went missing on me..may end up throwing a pile of junk out in the bargain.....
My basement empire seems kind of cooler now....
Lunchtime in Germany!
Just had a bowl of Petra´s spaghetti - delicious!
Our heatwave is finally over! From 90+F down to 60+ F - quite a drop. Our apartment has not yet cooled down much, but at least it feels a lot more comfortable now.
Have not had much train time lately - I just don´t feel like running my trains or doing anything on the layout. Will go to see my doc tomorrow, as I am still weak and weary.
CUL & have a good day!
Good Morning All:
Had the guys at the garage look over my truck yesterday; I’m burning up alternators about every 4 months. Something is keeping the alternator running at 100% all of the time. So I guess I have to take it to Ford to have the big computer hooked up to the truck and see what is going on. Something tells me it will be big $$. I did look at new trucks online but I really don’t want a car payment to add to my budget.
Good morning. It's 75° and the humidity is at 90%. The high will be 98° but will feel like 110°. It will be partly cloudy. The clock has just changed to 6:32am as I type this and the a/c has already turned itself on. A harbinger of the hot day to come. I already have a train running this morning. The three GP9m's are pulling. Somewhere in the rear of the string of cars is one with a squeaky wheel or two. I'll have to locate that one and see what can be done about it. No plans for today except to stay out of the heat as much as possible. One or more of the meds I take cause me to sunburn easily and I want nothing to do with that. I've located the squeaky culprit. It's an old Conrail flatcar carrying a 53' container. It has plastic wheels on metal axles.
LSWrr Good Morning All: I did look at new trucks online but I really don’t want a car payment to add to my budget.
I hear ya there. We have a '98 Caravan that is $1000.00-ing us to death. I'd rather put into a new payment for a {used} vehicle as the costs to keep it running are probably exceeding a {new to us} vehicle payment., BUT we still have 2 years left on the "06 and we have other debts that are not going away very fast, so I don't want to add another payment to our lot. We really can't do with only one vehicle, or else we would. any used vehicle is likely to need repairs and the costs are getting prohibitive. I only drive the '06 less than the 7500 miles pre year to get cheaper insurance, but it is in need of its 60,000 mile" tune up".I was shocked when the dealer told me it would be aobut $1500 for the deal. It can wiat a bit as it won't get that far over 60k easily and I don;'t think it iomperative that I get it done now. It can wait til we have money.
We are interested in a Mazda 5 hatchback kinda like a mini van, but more than a station wagon. THere is a used one that a local dealer has at 14,999.00, so I punched in some numbers to the payment calculator and was shocked to see how high it would go! Guess we will be waiting on THAT for awhile! Plus with a new-to-us newer vehicle, there is no guarantee IT won't start $1000.00-ing us to death with issues the former owner just ignored! we'd have to come up wiht about $6k- $7k to ease the payment. taht we don;t have.
Oh well, cars can't live with them, and can't live without them!
Chore day all day and rest my back is tweeking on me. Aobut 4 loads fo laundryplus bedding to do.
Rest of day do nothing...
Hopefully MOH will get called into work today to add to a short already paycheck...only got 10 hours this week as changing dept.s left without some hours this week...
Special prayers and thoughts for those in need.

Main thing today is getting the last of the paper work done for Bank Of Stupid and then getting some tennis shoes to work in. I am getting fitted for my Diabetic shoes on the 16th. Need something before that.
Jeffery, keep reminding me.

cudaken Jeffery, keep reminding me.
Coffee sounds really good this morning. I have sore ankles from running yesterday. It has been at least 10 years since I ran regularly. I don't remember all these aches and pains afterwards.
Ray, I am impressed with all those hand laid tracks. We used flex tracks because we weren't that patient. It is great to have staging.
Garry, The fair starts next week, so we will probably go on Sunday to see how he did. We have to pick them up after 8:00 Sunday, so that will save a trip. Thanks for the web site. I will check it out.
Later, Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Good Morning!!!
Coffee and the Sunday Breakfast Buffet please. Thanks.
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89.
Ryan- Glad to hear from you again! Sorry about the economy hit, but I’m glad you’re still clawing away.
Started pulling the vinyl up on the bathroom floor, but didn’t get much done yesterday. Wife was home. As soon as I’d get started, she’d want something. Then she wanted to go in town, then Walmart then it was watch movie. When we went to bed, she said, “didn’t get much done on the floor”. I…..I just said nope.
Ya’ll have a good day!!!!
Started this at about 6:30. Got sidetracked and as I was scraping on the floor I said to myself,"say, I never posted my post."
