Evening Folks
Flo, Ices water please.
"The ones I got from you are already soaking in alcohol." I wish I was, well that is!
Vince's This last time I did junk the light board on the PK2 SD 7. At this point I don't have a clue to what took out this motor.
Far as the Rio Grand Stewart's, I have all ready sent Jeffery more than I have planned on! I hope you have better luck with Stewart than I did. If you want anymore, K-10 still has bunches of them.
MRC F7A Well on the bright side I got the decoder installed today and running it now. While it will need a little tweaking for me to love it, it a good solid engine. Good puller, pulling 20 fifty foot cars and a train line cleaning car to boot. I went a head and bought the matching F7 A that Ken was holding for me. Will get the new decoder installed tonight or Saturday morning.
Blood Sugar Front I tested it this morning before I ate or took my med's, came in at 188. After my med's I ate breakfast and tested it a hour later, 204. Did not eat again till around 5:30, tested it right before I ate, 99! That is the lowest blood sugar count I ever had! Well, as far as I know.
Well, soldering iron is hot, time to get after the new F7A.

We have had some moderate temperatures here in Pittsburgh for the past couple of days. Also some severe thunderstorms. We need the rain, but with these heavy downpours, most of it just runs off. This morning the lights flickered just as we were getting up. But that little glitch in the power caused some problems. Two circuit breakers tripped, one for the living room and one for the back bedroom. Reset those and discovered the radio which sits on top of the refridgerator was playing and can not be shut off. Pulled the plug, but forgot it has a battery. So we had to wait until the battery went dead. Then found out the cable box we have for a TV in the kitchen was zapped. So we had to take a ride across the river and exchange it for a new one later in the morning. Strange that the circuit breaker for the kitchen didn't trip.
We are planning on getting up early tomorrow and going out for breakfast. Then to a train show on the other side of town. The wife will sit in the refreshment area and listen to an audio book while I walk around. She can't do that much walking these days. Don't plan on buying anything, but then again, one never knows what little gem will jump up yelling "buy me, buy me." After all, I'm the one who watched Darren's videos of the Goose Fest, and decided it was absolutely required that I find a Galloping Goose No. 7 in the tourist version. It sure doesn't fit into my Western Pennsylvania collection, but that's okay. Everybody have a nice weekend. Tom

Evenin' folks!
Janie, just a refill on the decaf please...
Just back a while ago from diner with my sister..... Got to meet her new kitten, Claude. He is not quite 3 months old and absolutely full of it. He will be a curtain climber... He already is a curtain climber and a real character. She says this one will stay a house cat.... I hope she keeps to that. She has lost several to being hit by cars, and the last poor old girl was killed by a neighbors dog that got loose. I think she is seeing how happy my two boys are that never go outside and might actually learning finally. Anyway we went to her favorite restaurant (Mexican) where she has a large tab for payment for the owners daughter coming to Art classes at my sisters house last week. Got back to her house and I found out why she wanted to take me out to dinner. She needed a favor! Seems she put her MacBook Pro laptop away while she was doing the lessons, but left it on "Sleep" mode.... Got it back out a couple days ago and found she had an almost dead battery in it! She charged it back up and it works, but several settings had gone bye, bye including her wireless internet connection.
Only took me two hours to figure out how to reconnect it........ Had to enter all the codes and passwords back in that she didn't know anything about because the Roadrunner installer did all that for her! She finally found her original paperwork and I tried this and that until I finally came up with the proper screens to get signed in, tell the computer to remember the password in the keychain, and give a lecture about shutting down the computer before putting it on a shelf without power for a week or two! She was quite happy when I got it running for her again..... I also repaired permissions while I was at it and there was a long list of permissions errors it corrected. I earned the dinner!
Hope you are all having a great night and know my prayers go out for all in need!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Flo, please, need to take the edge off all the Diet Dew I drank today.
I must say I am very taken by the MRC F7A. Guess it is broken in now, I have been running it for a couple of hours. It runs and pulls like a Proto F3 and it is quite to boot. Now if it hold up as well I will be a happy camper.
While I am not into details, I really like the see though grill work on the side. Got the MRC decoder out of the one I just got, here's a shock, it did not work! Really looking forward to getting the other one up and consisted with the other one!
Well, it is time to head to the round house and get some
Hope to hear from you Ulrich.
Happy Saturday!
Good Morning!!
Sunny and a high near 80F today..feeling like 85F...heeheehee.

Good morning. It's 72°. The humidity is 92% and there's a chance of rain. The high will be 98° with an expected heat index of 110°.This morning I intend to mow my parents yard provided that Mr Murphy doesn't get in the way. The rest of the day will be getting some rest and I may get some layout work done.

Good morning, Diners. Coffee! Coffee! Coffee! Chloe, I plan to sit in this back booth to see who comes drifting in on a lazy Saturday.
Curt, Nice weathering. You are so much better about posting your progress than most of us. How are you liking your TT? It is so much fun when a new section comes to life.
Welllllllllllll, turns out that my new sewing machine had some serious problems. It wasn't me after all. When the lady giving me the lesson couldn't navigate the screen, she got the tech. He couldn't even adjust the screen sensor. While I used one of their machines, everyone tried to get mine to work. 3 hours later, the owner comes to me and says, "You have a new machine." They took a new one out of the box, and even did the software updates for me. Their customer service has been great.
Looks like my Walthers order is close. It could show today, but is scheduled for Monday. Besides my box of sticks, we ordered several vehicles. They actually had 3 axle trucks.
Later, Sue

Morning All,
Not much planned for the day except to go to the club later. I go back to w**k tomorrow and this will be the last week for paying back people for my abscence. I am ready to go back to my regular schedule.
Sue- I love my TT. I can spend several hours just moving locos around and not even make it to the main part of the layout.
Ulrich- Hope you are doing well.
Hope everyone has a great day and prayers for those in need.

Good Morning!!!
Coffee and the seafood omelet please with a side order of hashbrowns. Thank you.
Sunny and hot, with a high near 96. Their words, not mine. Turns out 96 isn’t as hot as it once was.
Today I don’t know what I’ll get involved in. One thing I do know is we are going to dinner with our friends tonight at Joe’s Crab Shack in Peoria. Never been there but I’ve seen the commercials and they have a few times and after listening to them, I’m kinda looking forward to one of them steam pot thing. Crab probably.
Still have the outside ends of the back porch to stain so may do that. Didn’t hang the shelf or do any laundry like I’d planned or anything else I need to do for that matter…..ok. I’ll admit, yesterday I did NOTHING for the good. I just sat around and watched TV. There. Happy? I admit I did nothing all day. Or at least until I had to go to w**k at 5. Hey, a guy needs a day of nothing once in a while. Even Brenda didn’t say anything when I told her. She actually said “good for you’.
Wonder what she wants.....
Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Zoe, I'll have a breakfast bagel w/ cheese and a cup of your finest dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug. Thank you Ma'am!
Currently 73°F outside the door here in the Finger Lakes with a high in the low 80's. Lots of sunshine and a light breeze. Nice day for our Trollies by Twilight program today out at the Museums. I will be spending most of the evening riding in one of the cabooses we will have in service. Probably use the US Army 80 Tonner or the LV #211 for power. Great program as you get to ride on an antique trolley to Midway and then ride the diesel train South to the R&GV RR Museum for a tour. Tonight is an "All hands on Deck" sort of event. The weather should be perfect so we hope to get a crowd.

Crew call is 3PM for train crew so I will be leaving here right after lunch to get out there. Museums should be open from 4PM to 10PM for visitors.
I ordered more turnout tie assemblies yesterday from Fast Tracks. Should have enough to keep me occupied for a while..... I also think I know what happened to me ancient jig saw. I kind of remember it disappeared right about the time I had the roof put on. Bet it got packed up with their tools when they finished as I think it was setting on the back porch where they were cutting some pieces of metal roofing. Not a big loss as it was probably 25 to 30 years old and I got it from my father's estate. Went and bought a Black and Decker jig saw at the Value Center here ion town yesterday. Will try it out tomorrow some time.
Best get moving as I have several odds and ends to get done before going out to the museum.
Later!
It's currently 82 here. That only feels like 105. It's clouding up pretty good so we may get some rain. I got the parents yard mowed and Mr Murphy was all over my case! First the tractor got jammed up on a low ornamental concrete wall then I almost got clothes-lined by a mimosa branch that was supposed to have been removed. One of the tractors blade clutch pulleys broke and it sounds like it has a bad gear in the rear end. I got half the yard finished with it. I used the little MTD Yardman to do the back yard. Mr Murphy was trying to foul that up too.
Hello ..
Ray said: "Just back a while ago from diner with my sister..... Got to meet her new kitten, Claude. He is not quite 3 months old and absolutely full of it." ..... Ray, if she takes him to the vet to remove nails, she can call him "De-Claude". ... .... Also, Ray, glad you keep us posted about the museum!
Jeff ... Nice park scene and good job with the F7 work.
Curt ... I like your weathering. Very nice. .... Since you love your TT, do you hug it sometimes?
Ken .... The MRC F7 looks great to me. Unfortunately, the rivet counters nit pick the details, but I ignore those people.
Tom in PA .... Glad you are doing railfanning.
Tom in CA ... The 4-10-2 looks terrific.
On the layout, I'm trying to complete a wiring project I won't be able to do following my operation. It involves sitting under the layout and reaching upward which I won't be able to do in August. I'm replacing some light duty wires with heavier wires. After that, I will install an 8 amp booster for DCC. Presently, the system shuts down with all my DCC locos and lighted passenger cars on the layout. I plan to expand the DCC fleet, too.

Well the new Frankenstein F unit is almost done. It now has Kadee #242 coupler boxes and #5 couplers. All it needs now is some weight and a decoder.Earlier this afternoon my ISP dropped out on me. I'm guessing they had a power outage or some such emergency. I tried calling them but none of the phone numbers worked. It was done about forty-five minutes.Where were you when the internet went blank?
I was mowing the back yard.

ULRICH UPDATE: He spends most of his time sleeping as the medications do that to him. He is currently experiencing a..well..umm...a..difficulty that may turn into a wee bit of a possible set-back, but as of yet is only a serious problem-it is a "side effect" fo his past proceedure. If it doesn't clear up, Monday will mean a trip to the Dr. at the hospital again... SO KEEP YOUR PRAYERS FOR HIM!!!
Im dead tired..so tired I have yet to wash off the "return to the faire" "X" and the "over 21" stamp for getting a glass of meade...

This morning the internet was down so I worked on the new F7. Spent most of the day playing, hum, running the trains.
Gary Personally I think they where a little hard on the MRC F7's. I did a review on the main page (like anyone would care) but I am still happy with them. I might even pick up BN unit Vince's does not want.
See you all later.
Evening All,
Back from the club. Tonight I ran my FP-7 pulling a reefer train. Right now I am just killing time until bed time.
Garry- I kiss the TT good night every night. I have to make up for the cussing I did when installing it
Ulrich-I am saying prayers for you buddy.
Ken- Nice looking set of F-7's. It's always nice to receive new equipment.
Everybody have a good night and prayers for those in need.
Good Evening...
Everything that needed done today is now done...now for tomorrow and all the visits from relatives....
Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Good Morning All:
I made it to the kennel yesterday morning. I walked through a pen with about 20 puppies and only one tried to kill me, LOL. Katje grabbed my pant leg and tried to drag me around the pen, then when I picked her up she tried to chew my thumb off, so I guess this was the one for me.
I uploaded an album of puppy pictures here: http://community.webshots.com/album/583147524Unnszc?vhost=community&start=12

Todd, I was spoiled on Joe’s Crab Shack. The first one I went to was in NOLA, then when I moved back to Ohio I went to the one here in Willoughby, OH. Wow what a disappointment after going to the one in NOLA!
Sue, Dorothy bought a Husqvarna a few years ago and loves it, but I don’t think she’s used all the features. Dorothy is a big quilt maker. I was excited when I saw her Husqvarna Credit card, but I was told it was only for sewing machines not power tools L
Curt, very nice weathering job!
Good morning Lee and all others. Good for you, Lee. Good looking puppy. May you enjoy her for many years. Aint nuthin better than a new baby. Hope she gets house broke REAL quick. Don't need puddles in the house.
Wish all a GREAT DAY. Cooling breezes. Prayers and Blessings

GOOD MORNING!!!
Today is Sunday, July 22nd, 2012!!!
Enjoy your coffee with your Sunday paper!!!
Smile!!!
Coffee and the Sunday breakfast buffet please. Oh and a bib. I'll need a bib. Thanks.
Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 99. AC just kicked on this morn, don't look for it to shut offf for the next 3 er 4 days.
Lee- Congrats on the new baby! Those pics reminded me so much of Missy when she was little. Like twins with different collars. Course, I guess seein's how their both Chocolate Labs they would look the same. Anyway, Glad you got her. Labs are so easy to potty train and so easy to spoil into fatness. Great, great dogs.
I was quite impressed with Joe’s Crab Shack. It was the best crab I have had in a loooooong time. Made a mess doin it too. Hence the need for a bib which I did not use last night.......but should have. Lesson learned. I laughed and said I don't remember the last time I was that thorough in cleaning out a crab. Usually it just ain't worth the effort to dig. Crab legs at the Chinese buffet are about the best around here I kid you not and that includes Red Lobster. Of which I’m no big fan. But to be fair I must say, one thing about Springfield Illinoyz, NEVER judge a chain restaurant by any one there. They have if not the worst of all, at least not a good representative. They have the worst IHOP I’ve ever been, the worst Hooters, Outback, like I said Red Lobster. I'm not saying these are bad restaurants, just not...., oh...., not on par with the rest is fair to say. Some are good like the Lonestar and Longhorn’s ok. Olive Garden is pretty good too. One Applebee’s is good. The other well, I don’t know how it stays open, but people still go there. And they have a good Dairy Queen, a clean one! One. And Sonic, of course the fast food chains are kinda all the same all over, You can not judge a restaurant and say you don’t like it by any one in Springfield. If it’s good….the others must be better. Must be the Leptospirosis in the water. Anyway, I will definitely return to Joe’s sometime. It was delicious. Peoria’s not that bad of a drive, less than an hour and interstate the whole way. Wouldn’t go every week, but once every couple months for something different is not bad.
Master bath project is looming and looks like this week or next I’ll start on that. Hang on for some “Only Happens To Todd” stories. But I hope not. Shoulda started yesterday as I see Mr Murphy is busy down Jeff's way.
Don’t know what I’ll do today except that we’ll do some grocery shopping and probably grab something to eat. Son and his kids are coming out tonight to watch some kinda special thing with the stars . He claims you can see them better in Williamsville than Springfield. Doubt it, but Brenda wants me to fire up the grill so ther’ll be a few burgers and dogs. I think that’s the driving reason. Oh well I’m always up for a burger.
Good Morning
Going to a high of 84F today with heat index of 103F....going to be even hotter tonmorrow..
Going to be something of a busy day today..all kinds of relatives going to be here, going to see a skinny me....
Have a good day!!
