Lunch Time. ..... An RBF and a Chicago style hot dog would be fine; thanks. (WHere is Jerry? He likes those Chicago dogs)

It's still hectic for me. Lots to do.

Der John! ... Great to see you! WOW! your ship model looks fabulous. You certainly can work with the tiny scales very well!

Rob .... .Sorry to learn about your brother. Prayers for him. Please let us know how he is doing.

Galaxy .... Your  remarks were okay with me. I think the government is good at screwing things up, and they should stay out of the health care business altogether.  ... Thanks for being the "Prayer Candle Guy". It is good for people that you do that. ... The Chapel Car is available as needed, too. ... Best wishes to you regarding health matters.

Jeremy .... I might be late, but the focus of a resume should be your accomplishments. Tell about how you solve problems, and tell about interesting assignments you handled. SOunds like you are a loyal employee instead of a "stump jumper", and that is good.

Joe ... Belated Happy B'day.

Tom in PA .... Congrats on the new arrival - Southern E6's.

Barry .... Blessings to you as you have your tretments.

Harry .... Sorry to learn about you health issues. Prayers for you.

Sue ..... When I get a chance I'll take more pictures and include the NP F9's. The decoders I installed do not have sound.

Vincent ... Good to hear about your progress with your locomotives.

Ulrich ... Looks like you have a challenge if you are to convert the steam locomotive. Take care of the BP.

Speaking of Northern Pacific. ... I purchased a Walthers NP Slumbercoach on sale a couple of years ago. I just opened the package. This Budd sleeper was the only stainless steel car in the consist of the North Coast Limited.  My Northern Pacific Slubercoach is unique because one side is lettered for NP as it should be, but the other side is lettered for Missouri Pacific. ..... Hmmmmm .

I am currently installing decoders with sound in a Genesis F3A and F3B set in CB&Q colors.

re pain drugs: my wife is on hydromorphone, which is not TOO pricey, and also Exalgo, which is.  I'm extremely fortunate that my retirement insurance covers the Exalgo with a $100 monthly copay, which is reduced to $40 because of an online coupon from the mfr.  The Exalgo requires pre-authorization, I'm sure because of the cost, and generally covers for several months in advance.  The cost to insurance for a 30-day supply?  In excess of $4,000.  Again, I'm VERY fortunate to have the coverage we do, for about $60 per month.

Grass is cut!! I had to fix the tractor before I could use it. If you remember last time I broke a control end. I had the part, just hadn't gotten around to putting it on. It took me ten minutes to change it out using a pair of pliers and vise grips. Now I'm back home and it's starting to rain. While I was down there I took twenty minutes to put a new weed trimmer together. It's a model I haven't seen before so it took a bit longer than usual.

WEll, the funeral "urn" came today. It is metal of a cat lying curled up liek Munchie used to do.

MOH went and met a guy form the crematorium so they could puit her ashes in the "urn" so we don't have to.

We will then pick her up at the vets office.

Have A mild Migraine. I take Depakote to help prevent them. I don't get nearly as many as I used to and when I do, they are more mild, but still a pain.

WEll, I am back off to bed as the migraine meds make me drowsy.

Evenin' folks,

Chloe, I'll have the stuffed pork chops with a baked potato and a trip to the salad bar, please.  Oh I'll need a tall glass of lemonade to go along with all that as well.  Yes, Sour Cream for the tater.....

Barry, Good luck on tomorrow's treatment.  Just praying they get it all!

Got back from camp a couple hours ago.  Spent the afternoon out there trimming grass and weeds around tents on the largest campsite.  I ran out of steam just about the same time my trimmer ran out of batteries.....  Have 4 tents left there to clean up. I like the battery electric Black and Decker string trimmer as it is much lighter and can get into places that can't be easily done with the gas/oil mix ones.  I can also use it for a bit longer before my arms give out.  I have 4 batteries for it (and the small rototiller I have).  In several sites I can do over half the site with one battery, but in this one there is a lot of very tall grass meaning a lot of trimming next to the tents.  I'll get back out there for a couple hours on Thursday and possibly on Friday.

Found a couple sites that now have some cork roadbed in stock.  Ordered ten 3' sections and a few other needed supplies.  I should now get the Homabed delivered about the same time I would think.  It has only been 3 months and the owner doesn't seem to want to answer my emails........

I have to start getting all the needed equipment together to provide a mike at the Strawberry Festival tomorrow.  Catch you all later!

We'll get there sooner or later!

 Evening Folks

Flo, a Beer Pleases in a Frosted Monon Mug.

Work Front I was on the schedule to go in at 9:00 AM today but called last night and the Services Manager Eric told me it would be OK to come in at Noon, worked for me with it being a 12 hour day/  Got a call at 9:30 and it was Dave and he was NOT HAPPY! Told him what I was told by Eric and he simmered down. What Eric had not planed on was his Grand Mother time was up Angel and he had to go.

Dave is treating me a lot better, guess in part now that we are stuck with Craig he see's the quality's I have better. Do I think I will get a shop? No than likely NO. What can you say but "Would You Like Cheeses and Super Sizes your drink sir"?

Push has came to shove. I think that is the correct saying. With the messed up paycheck, medical bills and the antibiotics I am having to buy I may have to go Off Line. Grumpy I sure hate to, but I don't think I can get going at the rate at this rate. I more than likely will be on line another day or so. But if I drop off the faces of the internet that will be the reason. Just did not want anyone to worry that the Snake, Duck or Infected Toe killed me! Laugh

 Later, I hope. Whistling

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood evening (for a few more minutes, then we'll have GALAXY or BILL wishing us all a "good morning."

ULRICH: I live in a town where the two city "maintenance guys" have to find things to do...so they screw around with the water system. Having had showers and other...water using functions...interrupted by a sudden lack of water, I've built-up a stash of emergency water. I've got drinkable water in food-grade containers (like well-rinsed juice jugs) and "general purpose" water in old kitty litter jugs. It's come in handy more than once. It's also a partial insurance policy in the event of a disaster. We had a little ice storm hit a few years back THAT knocked the town's electricity out for 30 hours (we were lucky, some places were out for a week or more). THAT killed the power to the well, pumping station, etc. Soooooooooooooo when the tower went dry, so did the town. Now they have a generator for THAT. But still, good to have at least a few day's worth in case the "stuff" hits the fan.

Do you suppose PETRA could teach me those words??

VINCENT: I think we'd all have to see THAT GP-5 nose before we could "pass judgement" on it. I know I usually think I've got a seam completely filled. Then I go and paint the durn thing and....Bang HeadOopsSoapBoxAngryDunce

JIM: No sir, THAT waterball fight wasn't as much like a wet T-shirt contest as you might think. The ladies all wore turnout coats fully closed while competing. Any "wet T-shirts" were from being soaked in sweat from the heat and the coats.GrumpyIck! And no, KIT didn't have me on any leash...she doesn't go out on assignments with me. The gold band on my finger is leash enough....and something of a repellent too!Smile, Wink & Grin

Have a good day everybody, best wishes, good thoughts and even some prayers continue for all in need.

Chris

IF I go with the latest "great idea" and model part of the North Yard, I'd have to finger out how to replicate this crazy trackwork... kinks, dips, rises, whattamess.

****EDIT**** Good morning lady and gents. Rerun and I have "top." So, late night snacks, early breakfast, Nighthawks in the Diner.... order up and we'll cover it. Rerun still has some allowance left after Father's Day burgers, I think.

Tall glass of cool water, please. To early to start my day.

Enjoying the pics being posted, even if I am not keeping up with all the posts.

My brother had angioplasty and another stent, so happy to report he is still among the living.

Going to see the eye Doc myself later today if I can get enough sleep first. So back to bed I go.

Have a great day all.

Good morning to all!

Many of us are going through some tough times. I have been there and done that and I am lucky to be alive and walking, having suffered through a major infection in my spine and subsequent spinal fusion because of the damage done.

I only want to say one thing. My wife (the same person who absolutely supports my involvement in the hobby) helped me get through a near death experience. I am blessed with a truly wonderful spouse! This is just a gentle reminder to all of you to make sure you appreciate YOH and all that she/he does for you!

Somebody said earlier that MBH should not be used. I strongly disagree!!! Wrong! If I was as capable as MOH is I would be a wealthy man by now!

Like I said - I am a lucky man!

We wish all of you in need the best possible outcome. Thank you for allowing me to share!

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

What I said was "

"Notice: NEVER is "MBH" ever used. {My Better Half}. I am not sure who the "better Half" is. If both of us use "My Better Half, something in that mathematical equation doesn't compute correctly. We cannot agreee who is "Better". "

You are free to call YOH your BH if you wish...but WE cannot agree who is the "better half" so I never use the term. It seems to us if one is "better" then one is also "lesser". And that is just not true!!! Two numbers Cannot be the BASE and the Raised Power, one must be each...so is one better than the other??? NOT so.  And, yes, we are boht very appreciative of each other, come what may.

Just the way WE look at it.

Lunchtime in Germany!

Just had a bowl of Petra´s award winning spaghetti with a hot & spicy tomato/vegetable sauce and a mountain of Parmesan cheese on top of it - yummy!

It´s a gray day again - no sign of summer. Tried to order some MTL couplers from a German on-line shop, but could not process the order, as they require a credit card Crying I really don´t want to order them in Japan and have to pay $ 20 shipping and handling on a  $ 5 item.

Big sigh!

Dave - I won´t argue with you on that one. Without Petra´s love and care, I wouldn´t be around anymore. We are married for 28 years (well, nearly) now, and she has had a lot of patience to put up with me, as I am not an easy character to get along with.

Yes, I am also a lucky man!

Blessings to those in need!

Good morning, Diners.  I am feeling generous today.  Coffee or hot chocolate for all.  I was surprised with an extra day off so I am feeling generous.  No work until Monday for me.

Curt, My mom used to make rhubarb that way in  huge batch and freeze it.  We always thought that it was a treat.  I have a fondness for whipped cream or ice cream on the cake.

Heartland Division CB&Q

Speaking of Northern Pacific. ... I purchased a Walthers NP Slumbercoach on sale a couple of years ago. I just opened the package. This Budd sleeper was the only stainless steel car in the consist of the North Coast Limited.  My Northern Pacific Slubercoach is unique because one side is lettered for NP as it should be, but the other side is lettered for Missouri Pacific. ..... Hmmmmm .

Garry,  How can you buy something and not open the package?  We always open the kits to see how difficult they might be.  They may sit on the shelf for a while though.  Larry finished a steam donkey that I didn't have the patience for.  We are a team with different strengths.  That makes our hobby  more fun.

Today is the beginning of the Western Washington Quilt Shop Hop. Sixty plus stores have blocks for a quilt.  A friend from work and her mom are meeting me at 7:30.  We plan to start at Vancouver, WA, and work our way north.  My friend is planning to get all the blocks.  I am not that dedicated.  I have to get back to town by 6:00 so I can climb tonight.

Rob,  I am impressed that you can get back to sleep.  If I am up at 3:00, I am done for the night.

Sue

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Sue.

My wife grows rhubarb in the garden, so we usually have a strawberry-rhubard crunch at some point when it ripens.  Delicious with some vanilla ice cream on a hot summer evening.  That's precisely what we're expecting for a couple of days, record temperatures on the first day of summer.  Boston could break 100.

A rare bit of praise for municipal government.  Because our home is set lower than the street, we need a "grinder pump" for our sewer connection.  The town, in its effort to get everyone off their septic systems when they put the sewer line in, offered to buy, install and maintain these pumps for the handful of homes that needed them.  Sunday afternoon, after 20+ years of service, ours gave out.  The DPW sent out a team within an hour of the call, and a full replacement was done yesterday afternoon at no cost to us.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and a short stack of flapjacks please with boysenberry syrup thank you.

High today of 91,2 or 3 depending on who tells you. Don’t think I could tell the difference though. All three however do add “and humid”. Imagine that. Humid in central Illinoyz. Odd.

Harry- Sorry about the Dr’s report. I took it to be Emphysema? Prayers for you.

I’ve seen it before and I’ll stick with it. The government couldn’t run a thriving house of ill repute and bar, how are they gonna run health care.

(getting up off the floor) $4,000 a month? WOW!

Ken- Too bad about the off line situation, but you have to do what you have to do. I hope things turn around soon so you can get back with us again. Telling you in advance I for one will miss you and will be looking forward to your return. But, I hope it doesn't come to that.

Welp, best get crackin. Sorta. Got tons of things to do as Brenda has informed me she wants some sssshhhhhrubbery’s um……fullness adjusted I guess you could say. AND it’s time to remove the lion’s share of the Black Raspberries. PLUS……I never finished the staining of the back porch. Again.Whistling

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Good Morning Modelers!

It's 56F and Cloudy; YES!  A cool front is pushing in and we are getting a break from the abnormally high temperatures we have been deal with.  So, as long as this front does not bring too much Wind / Lightning it could make for a nice day today.

Looks like 3-Green lights for me...

FIRE NEWS:

The main fire (High Park - Neat Ft. Collins) broke containment yesterday near some homes but the Fire Fighters were able to respond quickly so no additional homes were lost.  It is still growing (mainly to the West) and we are now at 59,845 acres burned and the Fire Fighters are at 55% containment.

The other major fire (Springer - Near Colorado Springs) is at 1,145 acres burned.  150 homes there have been evacuated but so far so good for them.  They are reporting 23% containment

Well, the grocery shopping is done before the real heat of the day set in.

We have been lucky..a mild wintger and a mild spring. though that caused the strawberry and the apple crops {at least} to be snuffed out for this year as they got frost bit form early blooming.

.Now we have had a mild early summer too. TOday and tomorrw in the 90's and then in what 3 days {?} we will be down to 66* for a high!!!

Can't complain.

The only real laundry to do is the towels and toss in a few light colors that didn't get washed the other day adn call that chore done.

DIshes are remaining, but are few so they won't matter just yet.

I will stay inside now {it was 85* by our thermometer at 10AM.} and enjoy the A/C and be thankful we have it!

WEll, now to weed out some junk mail.

One said "Sell now, Stock Market will crash!" ...>Well yah, maybe<, I said that already I DON'T think we are done with this "recession" YET, regardless who gets in office next as USA president. There is the imminent collapse in Europe that may happen yet, and I guess while china seems to hold a lot of cards, I guess they are suffering in the game too. No one countyr world wide is going to be a rock and an island in hte global works, If one fails, so will many.

Well now that that depressing thought is over I think I wil treat myelf. I splurged and bought Snickers Icecream for myself..so I will go have one..no wait. I will wait til later when it is hotter and I want a "cool off".

So STAY COOL ALL YOU GUYS>>>

HAve a nice afternoon.
