 cudaken:
I will have the Roast Beef, medium rare, Twice Baked Potato, Tender of Onion Rings Green Beans, Side Salad with Blue Cheese and a Mug of Beer in a frosted Monon Mug.

Sounds good. I'll have the same. Took out the instrument panel of the van today to replace some lights in it. I couldn't see any speed past 45 at night and it will be nice to be able to see the fuel and ammeter gauges and the high beam indicator.

Mind if I join you for the Roast Beef? I have brought some German Beer to go with it.

Hi Zoe - it is way past  midnight and no sleep in sight - yipes! How about an insomnia special, with crushed ice? Thank you, dear.

Sam - now that´s good news!

Will try to catch some sleep. I am doggone tired, the meds I have to take to stay happy make me drowsy and tired, but I just can´t sleep.

Cotton-picking rain, can hold off all day, then at work, skies decide to open up. Cotton picking, sassafrassin. Great, now I'm dripping on Flo's clean floor. Sorry Flo, I'll mop it up later.

Welp, I got rained out of work today guys. Got most of my jobs finished, and got paid, but still. There were a few things that needed to be done but then the rain decided to come down. Oh, and Robby Nice weathering talent you got there.

Meatloaf, and mashed taters and gravy for me. Thanks.

Hi Flo, where is ever body?  Been this slow all day you say?

Well I am here and I am ready to Dinner. I will have the Roast Beef, medium rare, Twice Baked Potato, Tender of Onion Rings Green Beans, Side Salad with Blue Cheese and a Mug of Beer in a frosted Monon Mug.

(hum, wife is making Hamburger Helper tonight Grumpy )

Well did get some more done on the hallway (like anyone cares) and it starting to look pretty good. If I get a chances Tuesday I will pick up some more Luna, looks like I going to need 1 and a half more sheets.

Train Front Got the other side of walkway supports installed and the roof walkway on the Inter Mountain Hopper. Next will be the ladders, then it about time for it to hit the rails! Watch it not track right and hit the floor.

Sure hope they don't have to close the dinner due to lack of business.

Here's a PRR 40' boxcar that I am taking to the show.   I think it turned out real good!!  It looks better in person, plus me taking shots when the sun is going behind the trees isn't helping either.  I even added a black and white shot.

Oh.......The customers cars came today, so I'm now up to 19 cars to get done!!!!!   I will work on his some, and the shows some.

Mornin'  Uh........ Hmmm.  Lunch Time!!!! Laugh

Zoe I still need my breakfast though.  I'll have the #2 Special, eggs over easy, bacon, homefries, and a double order of sourdough taost with strawberry preserves.  And my dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug please.

Lee, you are right about the NMRA Division being assigned by your address.  You can attend and be active with any division you like though.  For instance almost all of the members in my division who live over near Syracuse are also active in the Central NY Division.  One of them has been their Superintendent for many years.  It is much closer for them to drive to Syracuse than to Rochester or Oakfield, NY for a meet (Although many do both).  Many "Snowbirds" from up here are active in the Divisions where they "Overwinter"......  As long as you can show your card, you can attend any NMRA event, anywhere.  Most divisions are "guest" friendly as well.......  Some have limits on the number of events you can attend before you are asked to join to attend.

Already got more lawn mowed this morning.  This side has a few less days of growth and is dry this morning.  Going much faster.  I'll finish later this afternoon.  I have to go down to church soon to reinstall some equipment and hope and pray THAT everything w*rks like it should.  Then need to do some shopping, pick up an Rx, and get back to w*rk on the shelf cleaning today.  Hopefully I will get another canner load of beans done.

Guess I better go feed the boys.  I have had both of them standing next to me by the computer with their paw touching my arm and the "Daddy, you gonna feed us" look.

Later!

Hey all!

Flo, may I please have a LARGE RBF, and a plate of Sausage and Eggs?  Thank you!

I have some good news on the 1:1 front...  I am qualifying as Engineer!  I've been trainhandling for the past week and a half.  Should have a check ride and Physiacal Characteristic Test for the NS potrion of the VRE...  I only need a check ride for the CSX portion.   Already have my Qualifying moves and check ride done for Washington Terminal (Union Station).

As always, I love the photo's y'all are postin' here!

Robby P.- What type of loco is THAT?

Hope everyone has a great day!  I'll try to stop back later... Adios!

I am back, well for a few seconds.

Here is a shoot of the Inter Mountain Hopper I am trying to build. Got one side of the walkway supports done, seems like there was 30 of them, but only 13. If you look at the left side of the Hatches you can see all the hinges I installed as well. None of he hatches fit right and all had to be sanded down so the hinges lined up.

Good Morning! Coffee to go and a glazed donut. Doughnut. ConfusedWhatever. Running late again.

Today:

Sunny, with a high near 91. South southwest wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph

Downloaded the latest issue of "that E-magazine" this morn. Don't know why, I haven't had the time to even look at the last two. There is something to be said about a hard copy magazine that can be transported to the indoor outhouse. A place where you are sure to have a least a few minutes to read. Guess I could take my computer.....nah. Anyway, a link caught my eye in their e-mail regarding a forum thread. I clickyed on it and it was about the MR index thing. I stopped reading after after a few pages and I continued to ask myself the same question. "Why is it people feel that someone needs to supply them with a resource for free and that it is their responsibility to do so or you are doing some nasty thing to those who support you so much." Of course, several of those who "support them so much" admittedly are not subscribers for some Kalmbach is dying reason. Now, I think the index is a great thing and, if possible should be kept for those who can use it. Personally, for me with what, 2 years of mags in my house and not sure I will keep all of those or future issues stacked next to my 30 some years of Car Craft that was kept for "research and Resource purposes" Thumbs DownGrumpyNo. But for those that do, and it seems to be a large number it is a good thing. Funny though, for all that bellyached how it should be no problem and such an easy thing to do, and how they could do this and that easily, most all responded to Mr Joe's offer with a (to paraphrase as a summary) "OH! Well, (ahem) uh....I would, but uh,(ahem) I'm too busy, or..... something."  TypicalLaugh

Good Morning,

Well I’m about 7 pages behind in posts this morning; I guess I need to get reading.  I wasn’t online much this weekend, but I did manage to get in 2 train shows.  The Toledo Show and the Sandusky show.  The next big show is in 2 weeks in Berea. 5 barns worth of train stuff at the fairgrounds.

I joined NMRA and asked for Div 5, but I was put in Div 4.  I understand if you live in a certain County you belong to a certain Division.  If I cross the road I’m in Div 5 where all my friends are, maybe I can get a button that says NMRA Division 4.5?

Robby there was a dealer at the Toledo train show with weathered buildings and rolling stock.  I was told by the end of the show he was almost sold out.  His stuff was priced in the $45 to $60 range.

 Good cool morning.

Took the car to the mechanic yesterday.  I rather make sure its fixed than having something major go wrong.   Its probably the wires/plugs.  I can change those but the wife insisted they do it Whistling.  So..........I have no car today!!!  I guess that means. I have some basement time.

I ordered some air hoses, and eye bolts this morning.  I'm starting to get everything ready.

I'm trying to fade my cars with a acrylic paint now.  Just add water and spray!!  Trying to get away from the testors.   So far its working good.

 Garry.......The show is in November 13th - 14th.

I will pop back in later.

Good morning All,

40F  just now but sunshine and 70's predicted for today. Looking forward to going to the museum tonight and putting down more N scale track though I confess the joiners are a real fiddle for me with my poor eyesight and stubby fingers. I keep toying with the idea of doing an N scale shelf railroad but I know that it'll just be another distraction in the long run.

Spelling - ah yes. I ended up taking college English three times before I passed so I can spell and usually convey proper grammar but it wasn't easy. I kept getting dinged for excessive use of colloquialisms (and parentheses). Far be it for me to criticize anyone elses' attempts.   CUL, J.R.

 Mourning Madison IN.

Looks. Like I the first customer of the day. Flo, just a blueberry muffin and Coffee for now.

Yesterday was another wasted day, did a little running and worked on the hopper. Called Digitrax around 3:30 PM and they had not gotten the DT 400 yet. I was told they will E Mail me when they get it, and there mail had not came yet for the day. Heart sank when I was told turn a round was 25 to 30 days. But she all so said they where not busy right now, so I am crossing my fingers.

I think I have figured out how the walkway bracing goes on the hopper I am doing. Hard part is cutting off all the little parts with out breaking them.

 See you folks later, Ken

Good evening. Dish of chocolate ice cream please.

Somewhat of a down tone in here. A lot of things going on in peoples lives. Me too.

(steps up on soabox and clears throat)

For the record, I hold nothing against someone for misspelling for whatever reason. I myself am a somewhat decent speller, but by no means perfect or even good. I am a horrible typer and make no excuses. I do re read my posts, but I know what I'm saying so that's almost a waste of time because as they said earlier, it doesn't take all the word to get you to see the word. Same with mis spelled and dropped letters. I make up words, have horrible grammar and sentence structure is well, frightening. Many times type as I speak, so when I use the word processor, it's already full of red underlines anyway. A misspelled word just blends right in. I'm not a professional writer nor an English teacher and I'm sorry if this stabs the English Teachers between the eyes, but I reeeeally don't care what a past participle phrase is or how to use it, or a current one either. Sorry, no changing me. Again, no excuses.

I judge no one until I know them. Even though I consider you all friends, truthfully, I know none of you. Therefore I judge none of you. You all are who you say you are as far as I'm concerned and I don't care if you're rich or poor. Able or unable. Excellent modeler, so so, or poor modeler. Have a layout or not. It makes no never mind to me.

I still believe anything taken in a bad way from anyone of us towards another is purely unintentional and not meant in a hurtful way at all.

(kicks soapbox back under counter and quietly walks out the door.)

Evenin' folks!

Flo, just a couple of those fresh baked cookies and a cup of decaf for me.  I'll go over and meet Bill's friends......  They look very, ah,  friendly.  Yep, they look very friendly. Smile, Wink & Grin

Got about half the lawn done today....  Grass is still growing around here.  Should have mnowed it 3 or 4 days ago I guess.  High, wet, and heavy.  It will probably stop growing fast about the time i have to fire up the snowblower. Grumpy

Did the wash and therefore had some time to do a bit of painting on a couple of projects.  Also finished assembled another of the Walthers conveyors for the stone operation.  Then I decided I hadn't cleaned the shelving above the sound board in a long time and should do THAT.  Bad idea.....  It did need to be cleaned, but I decided to rearrange and get rid of all the unused equipment in the rack with the mixer, and put all the other rack mount stuff THAT was on the shelves into the rack stand under the mixer.  I will end up with a much neater space with a lot more room for stuff, but my back is taking back to me tonight.  Probably won't be able to move by morning......Grumpy

Catch you later!

Good evening ..

Galaxy ... I always enjoy your posts. I poke fun at my own scambled typing. I type "teh" when it should be "the" more often than not. NExt, there is my spelling which is awful. I kant spel gud. (see what I mean) My fingers trip over each other.

Jerry .. It's good to see you are here. It's always great to "have a good one".

JR .... I miss seeing your old layout. I'm glad you are making progress and a new layout can be built in the future.

Robby .. When did you say is teh train show?

CHris ... Nice photo of CNW double track bridge and CNW's left hand running.

Worked on my power house today, but not as much as I wanted. Too many interruptions.

HAs anyone heard from Keith? .. His most recent layout pictures were looking great!

Happy Model Railroading!

Evening All,

Didn't make it in today - too much nonsense at the shop. No teamsters there either Ken LOL.  RBF and a slice of apple pie for me please.  So Bill, coffee, cookies, and the center pic shows some nice biscuits.

G - I didn't get the sense that anyone was ragging on you. I don't think I read anything that wasn't sympathetic. I know from talking to friends with dyslexia that it is real difficult dealing with it, but there are a lot of folks that have been successful despite it. I liked Rays' response to the post. There are lots of others out there in your boat so d on't let if get to you.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

A friend called me and asked if I had ever heard of a billion billion. Billion billion? I'm not in any honors classes, just a high school Junior in Algebra 2. Never heard of a billion billion before in my life. Sure would help if that dang school had the teachers doing their job. Angry

After being picked on yesterday I shant type much today. Wouldn't want anyone having to try to figure out what I typed...I can only say there ARE some people on here whose spelling and/or typing is absolutely atrocious and after reading some of that I would assume mine would be a treasure to read. {meant to be tongue-in-cheek}.

I sure hope I did not offend you, if I did I am sorry!

Todd I had a Auto Body shop in Springfield IL. My god some of the worst employees I ever had! The people that worked for me where Teamster's, after 6 months the Teamster Rep asked me "Ken, can you find anyway to get rid of these guys, they are driving me nuts".

Well, time for more NCIS and work on the hopper.

I talked to the LHS owner (by the way he gave me a 12% discount today), and he said he would like to sell my cars on his website/hobby store.   That made me feel good.  It kinda makes you feel like you know what you are doing.    Then after all of that, I get hit with the car wanting to act up!!!!!!!!

Well guys I will be back in later.  I hear a Neon calling me.
