Yep dead mouse smell gone for about 2 weeks now. We've had the door to the computer room open now for the two weeks, and don't need the windows open. That's a good thing. Geeked

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Barry & Galaxy. That train cake is pretty neat.

Did I hear Jerry dropped in? Hope all is well.

Took the manure spreader out for a test & a bolt ripped through a rusted spot on the frame. Ugh, need to take it to a welder now. Always something needing fixin' on farm equipment, especially as it ages. Must have it ready to go in 2 weeks, in time to seed the new pasture.

Take care all.

Didn’t make it out to Mom’s house today. I should have used the 2 hours there instead of here. Yet another decision that will more than likely come back to haunt me later.Dead

Garry- The photo you posted in WPF is exceptionally good. Very nice.Cool

Happy Noon Hour Gang,

Chloe, when you get a minute, I'll have two par boiled caraway seeds on dry toast,  wife says I have to try and lose some ballast.  Not my favorite thing to do.  I'll chase that with water, no ice, thanks........

Haven't been in for awhile, it is really hard to keep up with this crew as they are so talkative.

It was great to see that Bill T. spoke up and brought in some friends.  The diner really brightened up when that took place.

Many Happy Returns to Barry and Galaxy, I see that the cakes have arrived so I'll supply some sparkling apple juice for the occasion.   The last time I ate duck I found a bunch of the shotgun pellets still in the meat.  Maybe thats why I weigh what I do. Now honestly guys, I only wieght 190 lbs.

On the MRR scene,  it has been pretty slow as I have been real busy at work.  eight days straight some times.  But I have managed to get a GP-30 and a SD-45 in Reading Colors that I have chosen to use as the road colors for the LM&E.  I will just put a small green clover leaf in the black diamond on the side of the cabs and LM&E on the side of the tunnel ahead of the road numbers. Then with a little weathering I think I will be quite satisfied. That will add our own presense to the layout with most of the rest of it being WP. I have an old John Deere caboose that i will try and do up for the LM&E as well , as the colors match very close.

Still have all in need on the prayer list in the Chapel car.  Come on guys, snap out of the "DULLDRUMS"  as none of us are in the nursing home yet.   Hope all your situations improve greatly in the near future.

Have I missed the latest update of Cape Jim's adventures with the Ladies in his life.  Maybe I wasn't around for that when it occurred.  Would like to hear of the progress there Jim.....

Jeff, sorry to hear you have had a bad week.

Ulrich & Petra, hope you have a great visit with your son.  We always love it when our distant sons get home.

Also a BIG Hi to Jerry & Sallie, hope the I.S. is running smoothly.

We have had the wettest spring and summer on record.  Farmers can't get near their fields. What is still standing they probably won't get it off untill it freezes.  Temps have been very low as well.just above freezing, but now for the week-end they say it will get up into the 20s.. we sure need it.  Hope that means we will have a long Indian summer.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Keep smiling ya all...     It looks good on ya.

I have nothing but good things to say about Duracell batteries. The ones that were in my blood pressure monitor have been in there for YEARS. They were put in brand new and according to the power check meter on the side of the batteries they still test as good! The date on them is March 2007. I changed them out with Duracell rechargeable batteries anyway and put the old Duracells in my portable tape player. That should kill them off quite effectively.

Morning guys, er, ah, afternoon!

Happy B-Day Barry may you have Cake and lots of Gift !! Relax and enjoy a Beer or a Drinks if you like!

Mine is tomorrow {saturday}...aren't people born in September the greatest?!?!

I always hate when my b-day comes though, as it arrives with the first days of fall, and that means colder weather is definitely on the way! No doubt about it!  I litterally "fall" into my b-day. Time to break out the long heavier clothes and see what still fits, and what I have to replace with something that does fit.

Tonight we are going out to dinner at a fine restaurant to have roast duck to celebrate my b-day. My other half mentioned it 2 weeks ago and I agreed that we haven't had duck in a  long while. Years actually. WE both love roasted duck. WE also usually only fine dine out 3 times a year, our b-days and our anniversary and we typically go to one place and have the primerib. But the last time we ate there, the rib was horrible and as I said, it is getting boring eating the same thing when we eat out everytime for a special dinners. SO we are going to PS Restaurant to have the roast duck. We have never been there, so hopefully it will be good. We have to eat out tonight as tomorrow my other half has a 9.5 hour work day into the evening. {Now if I can fit into my good long pants and a shirt.....}

Well the funeral for our friend who died so mysteriously and tragically is Monday. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers from everybody! They were muchly appreciated by us and will be passed on to the family. Angel

WEll, that is all for now I guess.

Good Morning All,

And Happy Birthday to Barry. Haven't stopped by the last couple of days as it's gotten super busy again. Got one client through a big crisis and we're finishing up another fire drill now. And of course we're to battle the Canadian government. Seems my moms' PRI has expired (Permanent Resident Identification) for landed immigrants and the process for renewal is so lengthy that she might not be able to show up for her 90th birthday party October 10th  that's been in the planning for a year. She was told 12 weeks would do it, allowed far more than that and is now being told that it might be next year before she sees her replacement card. I thought the bureacracy here was slow. We are calling everyone we can think of to see what can be done and so far there is a faint glimmer of hope from her representatives office. Wish us luck.

Gotta run, I'll try to get back around noon.   CUL, J.R.

Jeff- Glad you’re feeling better today, but check your blood pressure. I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t have one of those at your house. But if not, maybe your Father could run you to Walmart. Mom has these Spells a lot. Low blood pressure spurts. Real low, like measured at 60 over forty a couple times when she's dizzy and the room starts a getting black. That's why she falls so much. Too much activity leads to Jeff passing out and falling wherever he passes out at. THAT could be very dangerous.

I know what low blood pressure is like. I lived with it for 26 years. When I was started on my diabetes medication it went the other way. Up. Way up. So now I'm on two blood pressure meds. It wouldn't surprise me if they periodically conflict with each other. And yes, I do have a blood pressure monitor. It's a dinosaur next to the super miniature units out there today but it works. Blood pressure this morning is 114 over 71.

Good Morning! Coffee please. Thanks.

Happy B-Day Barry!!! You’ve gotta have about 4,000 of them RS’s by now. Oh well, at least they don’t throw out the choke in the model world like they did/do in real life!

Guess I don’t need to describe the Diner. But, Welcome!

Rain today.

Atlas has four rivets and Kato has three? Gee, I don’t know which one to buy now.Bang Head

Ooops Garry, I forgot the rest of the crowd wasn’t there.

Sorry guys, my fault. Like Garry said, nothing secret, just leaned a bit too far toward the line in the roadbed for the diner I suppose. OH, well, maybe not.

Barry ... Happy birthday. Two Atlas Alcos is a good haul (so to speak) for a b'day present!  So you're heck out scenery at the corener booth. Does that include Bill T's "friends"?

I have a steam loco in my WPF picture again this time. Crandell likes steam. I'll wait until someone else starts WPF.

It's not a Berkshire if Duke is checking. It's a 2-10-2.

Good morning. It's 72 (22c) and partly cloudy. The high is expected to be 93 (34c) and there's a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Feeling somewhat better today but still have some problems with dizziness and disorientation but only while standing fortunately. Last night I was dizzy all the time. Not pleasant! I'm hoping that whatever is kicking me around decides to give up today. I have much better things to do with my time.

 Mourning Madison IN!

Flo, English Muffin with Ham and a large Dew please.

Well I guess it is Berry's Birthday. Hum seems I am not the only one that brought a cake.

Well it is again here in Maryville IL. Figures I did not cut the grass yesterday.

Garry, Thanks for the kind words on the hopper, but lets faces it, I did not do a great job. It looks OK, and I will see if I can get the hatches to fit better. I think the main thing I am disappointed about the Hopper is now that is together it does not really look that more detailed than the Athearn BB and Accurail Hoppers I all ready have.

Going to run to Lowe's latter today and pick up some more Luna. Heading down the hall way some more. And I will be taking my tape measure with me!

 See you all for lunch.

Today´s the day!

Barry! Gosh, you´re looking younger than ever, I say - younger than ever!

Chloe, a bucket of coffee, please.

Petra is getting prepared to go her GULAG - I am glad, that there will be only one more week to go. What a waste of time! Christian, our son, will be visiting us for the weekend to relax a little from the recent exams he had to take and to enjoy some of his mother´s cooking. We are both happy to have the little one with us (he hates when I say this, he is 6´3", missing me by 2")

A pleasant day to all!

Small bowl of mixed nuts & raisins, please.

Pickup update: I took the starter to a mechanic with testing equipment and he replaced the solenoid. I brought it home, installed it, turned the key....VAROOM. Nice to have our pickup truck running again. Thanks guys!

Been working a little on wife's (HO) layout some evenings. Wiring, lights, pavement, and little stuff.

Hope y'all are doing well.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Evening Madison IN!

Flo, Just a Beer tonight and don't care what it is in as long as it big and cold!

I am in the funk tonight, really don't know why besides the fact I am still breathing.

TMarsh

Ken- I know your frustration. When I was unexpectedly “retired” 20 years early, of course the bills didn‘t retire as well. Last year went to see about a refinance for the house. Lower interest, less time, lower payment. All looked good. Until….. The (Zip it!) underwriters. Since my income is now 40% of the old, we don‘t make enough to safely qualify for the loan. Now, I make the current payment. Granted not much at all left at the end of the month, don’t really have a hobby budget, just what’s left over after the end of the month whatever I feel can safely spend considering the things needed but not got yet, but we can make the payment without a huge problem other than just tighter than we‘d like. So if I can make the higher payment, why can’t I make a lower one??

Boy you are perching  to the chore today Todd! And the government wonders how things got messed up, and it was not Bush that did it.

One of the things that has me in the Funk is Sue got her first Disability check today. Guess I should be thankful we got the check. She got a check for $101.63, that is it for a month! Well it is better than nothing and I am thankful we got it. But thanks to the F*%#ing Bull Stuff the government but her through for 3 year's she had to hire a Attorney that gets paid $6000.00 up front by the Fed's?

I love my country, but man sometimes I just don't understand how this stuff happens! Might be time to build a log cabin in the middle of no where with my M 16. Hum, I mean AR 15. Whistling

Well lets talk Trains, see if I get in a better mood! Big Smile

Lee Any ideas on getting or keep buttons from getting stuck?

Robby P Guess I am lucky I only have a 7% loan. That was a good rate 18 years ago when I bought the house. By the time the interested start to drop, so had my credit score. Hard to believe I use to have a 800 score. OK, not train stuff.

Getting the DT 400 back Friday! Big Smile Need to make a sign for the UPS person to KNOCK and Waite! Digitrax made it so we have to sign for the package. Both Sue and I move a little slow and sometimes we don't here people when they knock.

Covered Hopper. Still got some thing to do, but here it is!

Free road strip. I see no one has taken me up on the offer so far. Oh well, maybe no one here at the dinner is doing roads. Here is a section I have done.

With some weathering I think the foam called Fun Foam by Creatology sold at Micheal's is going to work out great. I used a gray primer by Val-spar on the foam, it flexes with the foam. Far as the pinstripe, with some practices you can make circles with it. So a turn in the road is not a problem.

If you like some, let me know here at the dinner.

Time for NCIS and finishing the hopper.

I don't know about you folks but I feel like crap today. It started around noon. I started getting light headed and by 1:30 I couldn't hold my head up. I went to bed and went right to sleep, if you call watching the room spinning around you going to sleep. Woke up about 5:35 with a splitting headache. I can hardly stand and it's difficult to keep my balance. I still have trouble keeping my head up. I don't think I'll be online much longer tonight.

Afternoon Foks!

Flo, I'll just have a RBF to tide me over until dinner.....  Pie?  Ah, not now......  I'll wait until the catapult gets put away.

Had a good trip down here to York, PA.  We have already visited all the hobby shops here...  both of them.  Well almost, haven't been to the Lionel O scale shop.....  There is a young guy who opened a train hobby shop here last year.  So far he appear to be doing well.  The other shop is a model race car shop and stuff like THAT.  I did find the Gun Metal paint I have been looking for, so the trip is already successful.

Hey Barry, looks like you are wearing your birthday pie....  (Ducks pie being thrown his way!) Whistling

Best get going.

Hey guys, I think I'll have an apple pie. Ho Ho, thought you could get me didn't you?

Spplllaaat

Now that's not even fair. Good pie though. Think I finally got my Ipod fixed. the restore did work, now I think the problem is that I carry it in my pocket too much. No one here's from my school right? Well, I carry it on me in school because I don't trust the lockers at all. And the radio in my Jeep isn't working the best right now. I can only get one station by the school and I loose my morning normal half way to school.
