Hello again...

Vincent ... here is one of three cabooses I did. Bachmann lettered its for Santa Fe and I repainted them to be CB&Q. At the time, I also tookd two Athearn Santa Fe cabooses in Burlington colors and repainted then to be ATSF.

You may note I have a tank car almost ugly enough for Robby to like.

Yesterday went ok, having problems with one motor on a car we had dropped in our laps yesterday morning. I'll just have a reglular to go pplease - gotta get back to it. Today we have qualifying and the 3  hour enduro and at the end of the day a 1 hour night race so we'll see who's up for all that. CUL,J.R.

Jeff, Don't have either of those. I've got 2 50' boxes that could stand to be painted, maybe a trade is in order.

The boxcar and caboose I have are unassembled kits and I can't guarantee that everything is there. What kind of 50' boxcars you got.

Jeff- One heck of an engine. Lovely.

Thanks. It was one of those freebie gifts I get from time to time. That doesn't mean it's any less appreciated. It's a 2-10-2 T2-a from a Presidents Choice set. It came with a string of mine cars. I thought it could be better used on a tourist train. I numbered it 007 because I'm a James Bond nut.

Good morning all. French toast please. Yup, coffee too thanks.

Well, yesterday didn't turn out as planned. Never did make it out to Mom's to start loading the dumpster. Received a phone call from Brenda about the Arraignment hearing for the "beater" was postponed another week by the SA to allow more time to see how the child is going to be. A detective asked Brenda if she could come in and answer some questions and wanted to know if I would too. So since that was smack in the middle of the day and I had to work, I didn't even go to Mom's. Funny, The loser's attorney argued he was entitled to a speedy trial when the SA asked for a continuance for one week. The Judge informed him he has thirty days from the time of arrest and it only been 2 weeks. So, granted. They also have the opportunity to have one more extension for a week. We'll see.

Speaking of Anthony, the prayers and well wishes are paying off. Thank you. Had a bit of good news. His pancreas is healed. Now they just have to decide what to do with the cyst on it.

Jim- That's ok about the cards. I forgive you. (sorry about the piece of cobbler too. It was the closest, softest thing . Uh, I think there's still a little bit above your right ear. Sorry) But thanks for sharing the club photos. My hope is to get my layout to basically the same point in construction fairly soon. Not like this or next week, but not next year either. (crossed fingers)

Why is it Labradors must taste everything. She's licking the carpet where she ate a treat. I guess that's ok from the point of cleaning up "the table" but kinda unsettling at the same time. Makes me wonder just how much dog slobber is encrusted in our carpetDead. Good thing spring is about here. We will be doing the spring cleaning and that includes the seasonal carpet shampooing.

Garry- I know what Burgoo is. But what is Derby PIE? I know it's PIE so it more than likely is good.

Best get a movin

Good morning.  Its nice and sunny!!!!  Might hit 50 degrees Sunday!!!!!!

Well I worked on a hopper last night, and I hope to finish it up this morning.  I will get some shots up in a bit.  I gotta run to the bank right now, and gas.   Our car insurance is with Allstate.  So we get the "safe driver bonus".  Hey its money, and I guess its good we haven't wrecked in years!!

Flip......I kinda figured some were the wrong ones, but that's all the caboose pictures I have.  Seems like they are hard to find Whistling.

I will get some shots up of the hopper in a bit.

Todd ... Here is the website for the real KY Derby Pie. You may visit them in Louisville area or use their link to order. You can find unofficial recipes if you google "Kentucky Derby Pie".   http://www.derbypie.com/  They sometimes serve a version of it at our state resort park here.

Also, Todd... Best wishes for you and Brenda with the detectives. A speedy trial for the #@#&!* beater? Nuts. Is your grandson having a speedy recovery from both physical and mental harm? ... Where's the lynch mob when it's needed?

Flip ... I did not follow all the caboose conversations... Here's a wide vision looking as good as they could be in CB&Q silver and red. It is an Atlas model.

 Good Afternoon,

Zoe, nothing for me today - oh, well, then make it a coffee in a large mug for me, please.

Today, we have received the official and formal notification of the foreclosure auction of our house - it´ll happen within the next couple of weeks. Not that I was hoping to be able to save it for us, but it is just, that I don´t have the strength to go through all of this.

I´ve been trying to get my mind of this misery, but it just did not work. Even this beautiful video (for steam fanatics only) did not cheer me up.

So I´ll be better off now!

Sir Madog
Petra had to call the Doc to see after me, as I just blackened out.

Ulrich, Ihope it's nothing serious. I have blackout periods of my own from time to time.

Good morning. It's 37 and partly cloudy. The expected high is to be 64 and it will be partly.

Well I knew it would happen. I put up all those new lights in my yard to light a path where I know there's nothing for me to trip over. Yesterday my next door neighbor put in his bid to keep Lowe's in business by purchasing a bunch of solar lights for his yard, a few are the same type I have. I helped him get some ready while he put them where he wanted them. I looked at them last night and it looks good with the two yards lit up. Now maybe some of the neighbors will get off their duffs and put some up in their yards. After all, if a 50 year old cripple with all the mobility of the average 85 year old and his neighbor, a 57 year old with severe heart problems can do it, why can't they? I figure we've set the mark, it's time to see if some of the others can meet or beat it.

Der John,  I thank you for your reply.

Keith: Do you paint white lines on cobblestone for the car lanes?

see if this works, paint up a short length of that cream coloured masking tape a dirty white. (I'd suggest alkyd rather than acrylic if you think the paint may flake on handling.) When dry transfer to a sheet of glass, and using a metal rule, cut scale 4" strips. On the point of an X-acto blade lift a strip and lay it on the cobble street where you need a trial line. Press into the contours of the material.  How does it look? The beauty of this is that if you don't like it, just lift it off again. Not so Dorky, eh?

Well John,  your suggestion certainly has me thinking.  After reading your reply,  .. Decals.  You would think someone would have already made some.  Perhaps another trip to the LHS and check out some decal paper.

John.. lol... I really don't know what the heck I'm thinkin~  Unless you actually sit down.. and think of all the ways to divide up car lanes.

Yellow double lines.. Double Double Yellow lines.  Solid fat white lines for Crosswalks,  single fat line.. for Right Turn Only lanes.  Then there are ways to divide up opposing traffic with Center Lane Islands.. with bushes or trees.. not to mention the Plastic Flexible Reflecting White Post.. in the center of streets .. to divide oposing traffic, so when your car does hit these things.. they don't break but just go "Whop whop whop.. whop whop" and bend.

I must admit.. last night before I went to bed.. I was with the impression of perhaps.. painting the white lines with an airbrush.  I also realized I needed Double Yellow lines.

So I went to bed with the understanding I'll be painting Double Yellows today.  And went to bed with an approach of mapping out the Yellow lane.. but before painting it.. lay down a piece of thread (down the center to divide the yellow).. (kite string, Nylon) (no fuzzy stuff)  ... paint it yellow.. pull off the string.. and  Viola~  Of course a test trial would be in order.. not on the actual streets.

But then again after reading your suggestion.. Decals is the answer.  I can see it now..  "Right Turn Only" arrows painted on the streets.. via Decals.  Once again John.. you have pulled me from the fire.... lol.

Take care my friend~  Thank you~

 Mornin' again!

I ran out of coffee so I came back inside.....  Yes it is much better now, you could close the windows now and get some heat back in here.Whistling  Guess I'll have a short stack of buckwheat pancakes with NYS Maple Syrup (We are doing syrup here too Barry) and a side order of bacon.  Oh and a refill on the dark roast coffee please.  I'll go sit in the front booth near the door just in case....Whistling

It is currently 32°F outside here in the Finger Lakes under bright sunny skies!  Nice day!

Retirement Party for my son's MIL is tonight at a local restaurant.  She was a nurse at Geneva General Horsepiddle so it should be a safe place to be......Whistling  I already told her THAT retirement is great!  Six Saturdays and one Sunday in every week from now on.  Her new career is babysitting for the Granddaughters as she lives with them (Has a downstairs apartment).  I think I have it best because the granddaughters get very exited to come to Papa's house (as #1 calls me).  Might be because I have the trains.......  And they don't see me every day.

Computer beeped at me saying I have email......  First thing today when I turned on the thing I had no email....  This single time I had 42 emails, almost all from a NMRA AP group I just joined.  The group was set up just a few days ago and deals just with information on the Achievement Program.  Several MMRs have joined and are answering questions pertaining to the program.

The local schools have a half day today (or a full day before lunch as the case may be) so a big Yellow thing THAT I don't usually see before 3PM just rumbled down my street...  Think I better go do something useful.

Ulrich, I am keeping you and Petra in my prayers.  This is a hard time, but it will get better!  I can only hope that you may be able to break even or better on the house even though you don't think you will.

Barry I hope you get rid of THAT cold or whatever it is you have soon.

Coffee in a  SOUTHERN  mug, please.

I'll never get caught up on posts. Did work on the canyon of wife's layout a few nights ago. About halfway there on the application of tile compound. She likes the grey look which should require very little paint touch up here & there. Should work out ok.

Have a good day all.

Ulrich,  I don't know if you're still  up... but concerning your layout design.. and time on your hands.. well~  I've been having fun with plastic sheets.  Now concerning your design.. I bet you could think and plan.. and make a nice .. whatever using plastics.  I thought I'd share this with you and the others.  But this is fun.. I can see myself making all kinds of stuff. Here's the pic.

100_0926.jpg picture by Blazzin55

But anyways.. I was having fun last night.. just doing the foundations to this brown wall.. and its dividers.. and I said to myself in so many words... "Wow.. if someone likes to plan and design.. well this plastic stuff is it!~"  I'm really jazzed about this stuff.

100_0872.jpg picture by Blazzin55

I can see myself making a few bridges.. or cul de sac drainage ports.. or car portals... a walkway.. an overpass .. all kinds of stuff.. I can't wait to check out some other LHS's.  ok.. time for the layout.. and a movie.  Yesterdays movie was 5th Element.. while I played.

 Robby, sweet hopper.

Well, I slept in until about 11 today (I went to bed at 11 something last night). We're playing a real physical team tonight that works off of intimating people; we scrimmaged them earlier this year though and went out there and hit 'em hard as they hit us and they couldn't deal with it; their 8 man broke our scrum half's nose and we were ready to kill em so the other coach called the match. they ain't getting away with any of that BS tonight with an official referee, not jsut their own coach calling the match.

We've had two EXTREMELY hard practices in a row and I'm worn out, so today I'm going to focus on both writing my English paper and several projects on the layout to get my mind woken up but conserve energy. Believe you me, after I've worked on that paper for an hour I'll be ready to tear somebody's head off.

***Jerry, I'll second your assesment of those HK figures. Wife & I picked up a bunch of those for both our layouts. They will work well to fill her (HO) carnival/circusClown and mine will be in stocks waiting to be processed at the (N) Soylent Green Plant.Evil Hey, weren't you working on a small building recently, or am I mistaken? Wondering how it came out?

Picked up the (N) BNSF Dash 8-40BW loco at the PO today. Haven't had time to test run it yet, but sure is an interesting looking thing. Shorter than I expected, so I think it should still have a C44-9W.Whistling

Well hello everyone! Zoe, may I please have a Tuna sandwich on rye, along with a TALL glass of Ed's OJ?  Thanks!

I just came upstairs after running the NW2 on the layout!  I went to Lin's Junction (in Lansdale, PA  roughly 45 minutes from here) because I have dealt with them in the past, EXCELLENT people.  I got the NW2 reprogrammed to address #1, and I also picked up an N scale decoder to install in my boxvan (only $17, not bad)  I will be doing business with them again, as soon as I can convince the CFO to get me the Zephyr for my birthday, and then I can sell the bachmann ez-command and a few other things to make some extra space in the budget for more model stuff!  We shall see!

I just made a decision to move my existing layout up to me office until the basement gets "finished" and climate controlled... Having it set up up here means that I won't have to leave the 'puter to work on the layout, and or vice-a-versa!

Got to get to cleaning up the area I am going to set up the layout in... so I'll be checking in every couple minutes!

BLOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRTTTTT!!! What the???   O.K.!?  Who's the wiseguy, heh???  Now we gotta contend with whoopie cushions?

I'll be over here at the RC for a minute, where I can keep an eye on my seat and food at the same time!

Sam

May He bless you, guide you, and keep you safe on your journey through life!

Ulrich- Words fail me. All I can offer is friendship and prayers. Hang tough.

Went to my LHS. He has 3 W V cabooses. One each in Ill.Cent., C&O and SBD. I have his "E" address if anyone interested or I could layout the $$ and mail it/them. They are BB kits and either $7.95 or $7.75 each. I have been getting 20 off on most purchases.

He fixed my BLI and man does it creep. A snail could out run it. Use it in a yard and will hook up without moving the car.

It was BOTH! Mischief  Good luck to you in the upcoming battle...we're all hoping you make it out a) alive, and b) fully intact...above and below the scrum!Big Smile
