Afternoon all.

Why am I not in school?

Well I just got braces on my top teeth. And now mom is at the vet with our hampster that managed to throw out it's back and get an infection in a place lady hampsters don't want one.

So I'm here.

The big boys are shipping... Not from Wholesale yet. You see me with pt. 32 text when they've shipped from wholesale.

Anyways, Chloe, how about the chicken strips and fries? Also some onion rings for who ever wants to share them. Rings on me, not jeff.

Alright, See y'all later.

Afternoon Gang: JJohn has that diverticulitus. The doctor is going to keep him in the hospital untill Monday. We stopped to see him this morning and he was doing well. No more pain but not alowed to eat anything. Thay want to get him cleaned out before he can start eating again. When he does go back to eating his diet willbe very different. Mary Ann and I should also change our diets, more fiber. No I will not give up beef. That's a silly thing to want a rancher to do.

As for the weather it's snowing now. It started raining and sleeting while we at the hospital and by the time we left for home it was getting bad on the roads. When we got home I had to put out hay. Boy was it nice having that new tractor with the cab and heater. Right now there is about an inch plus of the white stuff on the ground and more coming down. Did I say something a couple of days ago about this winter being one without?

On the way to the hospital we went over the UP main in Ft Worth on an overpass and I saw that in the middle of the east bound track was grain that had been leaked. Would you believe it was sproting? Now that is something that I've never seen modeled. It was a real bright light green.

I think that it's time for a bit of late lunch. Girls I'll have a high fiber lunch, please. Oh? It's Jeff's tab. I'll have a steak with that.

See you all later.

Paul: I know how John feels. I've had diverticulitis myself and it wasn't nice. Fortunately the doc was able to stop it with antibiotics and I didn't have to go under the knife.

Hello Everybody...

Root beer float, please.

Philip ... a two story outhouse! ....... No thanks! ...especially would not choose to use the lower level!!!!!

Paul .... Sorry to learn of John's illness and pray for speedy recovery.

Gav .. Dood to see you, but ...... a tea and bacon sandwich?

JR ... I should have mentioned last night that I like your city scene complete with "Elliot's" sign!

A friend lost his Dad recently. It's sad.

I'm still working on the layout. I'm "kitbashing" a backdrop scene by adding pictures I cut from photo prints (landscape scenes) to an existing backdrop. I also, paint onto the backdrops with acrylics as needed.

Have a nice evening.

Evening folks!

Finally got a few minutes on the puter today.

I took a PTO day today to stay home with Ben, he's really sick. Dead [xx(]

Took Ben to the doc early this morning for a walk-in without an appointment and turns out he has the flu. My little buddy is sick and really not well, he had a fever of 102 last night and was 100.4 this morning. He is getting a little better, but man he is really pale and weak.

Looks like everyone eats well without the special menu, so I'll have one of those chicken and rice soups Chloe! And a Root Beer Float too, they sound good tonight!

I like all the great layout shots everyone has been sharing lately, that "Elliot's" sign is just great!

Garry, when can we expect a mini-clinic on your backdrop and photo kitbashing technique? Whistling [:-^] Inquiring minds want to know.... Big Smile [:D]

Howdy,

Does the diner staff deliver?  I sure could go for one of those root beer floats.

Weatherman says up to 10" of snow by Sunday morning.

Saturday night (Sunday morning @ 0200) we all need to spring ahead one hour (clocks)

Mark pt 32 font will not be sufficient, we want pictures! Now tell us you won't be running it off the layout or into an oncoming coal drag, LOL.  I hope the hamster is feeling better.

My current layout problems are the wall along the stairs is not square.  I was stupid and cut all my sections for the layout square.  Tonight I installed a transition section 48" x  27.5" to fix it.

Evening Gang: John is doing good. He will be in the hospital untill Monday. He is getting something to eat now, broth and water. It's a start.

The snow is melting. We got about 1.5 inches. It was very pretty out while it lasted. Some folks a bit north of us got 6 to 8 inches. That's the way it goes in Texas. At least the snow will slowly soak in to the ground and not run off.

Well It's bed time.

Good Night All.

Good evening all:  I haven't read anything much beyond page 2, so bear with me if I'm not up to speed, and a big to all new folks I haven't met yet!

Been really tied up with getting the passing siding on my upper level retro-fitted as per CapeJim's suggestion. (It's the black dotted line down from the fiddle yard on this plan)

Here's how the tracks were.

And the loco escape from the interchange directly onto the main. (It now connects to the passing track, which is way better)

Many problems along the way, mostly to do with b*m turnouts and out-of-gauge track.  The new track is mostly along a deep ditch that was between the main and interchange. This shot shows how the ditch looked in May 2006.

I laid the track "in the air" between fixed points, and had to back fill a roadbed under it once it was in place! Had to surgically alter a 60% diamond to get it fitted between the two existing ones. Anyway, got as far as painting the new track today, and so ballasting and painting the re-done scenery are the final stages for this weekend.

Here's the pre-track painting overview shots from a couple of days ago.

If I don't get back in before Sunday, don't forget the clocks go forward on Saturday night. (watch the Fall time-change for the contra-rotating version of that one, if we're still around!)

Goodnight all, and God Bless.  Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.Angel [angel]

Knowing me I'd get a video. It's hard to wreck on a 4x8...

I wonder if the club would let me borrow 320 freight cars for a big boy-challenger double header.

Good evening, another good weather day here, the snow is fading fast, most of the the yard is clear now. The Main Bathrom project turned out to be a royal pain. The tiles were stuck so bad to the floor that the first layer of Luan was tearing up with the tiles, now I will have to use leveler on those areas.

RYAN: Keep a close watch on your son, the flu is serious this year, the shots do help but they are not for this strain that is hitting us, we lost out first child her in MA yesterday from the flu.

ROB: If you can't sleep at night, dring a small glass of red wine about 1/2 hour before going to bed...you'll sleep fine. Works every time for me.

In fact, it has me tired right now, so I am hitting the sack, see you guys tomorrow,

Evening, Chloe - I'll have hot fudge brownie with a dollop of ice cream on top, please,

and a hot chocolate too. Thanks!

Looks like you all have been chatty while I was gone today. Wink [;)] We haven't see any of the white stuff they're predicting so far tonight (quarter of 10 our time). There's some on the radar, but it isn't reaching the ground, apparently. But from the forecasts earlier, I recall the heavier part of the snow was supposed to be tomorrow and tomorrow evening, anyway. Oops [oops], I think I just fell off the wagon, fellow Weatheritis sufferers...

Mark, hope your hamster gets better soon. And that your loco will arrive soon...

Paul, on my diverticulitis (after the expensive scan), my doctor gave me an antibiotic and instructions about fiber (just like John's doctor did/will, no doubt). I saw some video of Denton,TX getting snow with big, fat snowflakes on tonight's news. Is that anywhere close by you, or are you west of there?

Hi Gav, what've you been doing lately? Do you guys ever get snow across the pond?

Flashwave - on Colby's fry, depends on how big that thing is. Maybe it's made from some killer-sized potatoes!? Laugh [(-D]

Garry, I'd be interested in that backdrop tutorial of yours, also. Thumbs Up [tup]

Ryan, how's Ben coming along? Better fix him up some of that good ol' chicken soup to help the young'un get healed up.

DerJohn, good to see you've got a good start on the layout mods. Looks good with the '4-to-3-to-1' transition.

RT, that job letter sounds promising. Will keep that (and for it to continue well) in my prayers. It should be good on benefits as well. Is that full-time or part-time? Thumbs Up [tup]

I'd best get myself going to bed. On-call tonight and w**k tomorrow (if we don't get snowed out). Everybody get rested up to cover that hour of sleep we'll lose Saturday night!

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Whistling [:-^]

Hi Girls,   Seeing that Jeff is buying, I'll have the same as Jim.   Thanks much.

I would like you all to take a look at this and give your comments.  I know some collector items get a little pricey but I think this is just ridiculous or am I missing something ?

I believe it is a Plymouth, about 57-58. A poor copy of a police car too.

This is a Hot Wheels car that was up for auction on eBay. The auction ended on March 3rd, the reserve was not met. There were 18 bidders. The car is about 2 inches long, (dinky car size) and was a prototype police car. Click the link to see what the last bid was. Remember, the reserve price was not met.

Note: You do not need an eBay account to view this car. :

What a night!!!!!!!!!!!Banged Head [banghead]

no offence to our younger members but sometimes i can't understand some young peoples

mentalitySigh [sigh]. for the fun of it some of the students in one of the buildings I look after thought it would be clever to throw glass bottles  out of their kitchen window at another residents car. It wasn't just 2 but at least half a dozen. They cracked the windscreen and i've just spent half an hour cleaning up the mess.

I apoliges for the rant but just so fustrated. sorry JIm . yes we do get snow over here but it aint as bad as you over there. though up north they might disagree.

***Johnboy, A factory prototype... never produced.  There are likely only a few, maybe only one, in existence.  As with any rare item, it would sell for a high price to a collector.

Good morning,

Gav, you have all the right in the world to rant about these things.  I truly feel it's the parents' lack of involvement with the kids' education and a lack of discipline.  If I did something like that when I was younger I'd be begging not to go home to face my Father!

I'll call Rob, the owner of my LHS who is an avid collector, and ask him what he thinks of that car.  I do have a range rover (early matchbox) that was apprised for $380.00 US.  The luggage rack on the top of the car is red and blue swirl.  The original was red then they switched to blue plastic.  So this car is an in between unit and according to 2 collectors only 1 of possibly 50 still in existence.

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work I go..............
