From who? I can't imagine the current administration doing that... (EDIT: I mean who introduced the bill, not where the money is coming from...)

Also, did you see this? Lt. Governor Murray finally succeded in buying the Boston - Worcester tracks from CSX... after a lot of years of trying...http://cs.trains.com/forums/1545663/ShowPost.aspxCool [8D]

You have too many trains, start sharing...

I finally got my order in with walthers. Swing Bridge, Motorizing Kit, Bridge Abutments, Modelflex Engine Black, NH U25-b Decals, Red Jewels, Dullcote, and a couple Precision Scale Company 3-Chime Horns. It should be here within a couple weeks. I'm way in debt now! Big Smile [:D] Probably going to sell a couple things to get cash for Hub Div membership...

So the railroad I work on (Yreka Western Railroad) is hosting a special train chartered by the PLA (Pacific Locomotive Association) on November 2nd and I am pretty excited about that. Should be fun. Thing is a couple people on another forum (Trainorders) are saying the trip is on the 1st when actually that is when the McCloud Railway special trip is. I have confirmed with 2 sources on the dates and I have already bought tickets for the McCloud trip on the 1st and I called the railroad today and told them I will be there on the 2nd and they confirmed the date as well.

Guess nothing what I say means anything, quite frustrating. I don't want people switching the dates up, that will ruin the weekend. Argh.....where are my trains?! lol. Smile [:)]

Although I've settled on a railroad, I can't decide on the era.  So I am building Norfolk Southern equipment from the 1920s, 1950s, and 1970s.  I am also doing the ferry, John W Garrett, but that is a one-off from before 1910.

I also have some Beaufort and Morehead equipment.

Hey guys.

A fellow club member took some photos of my St. Laurence & Hudson GP9u, so I'll be able to show something for once! But it might be a while, since I don't know when I'll get those photos.

Beaufort SC?

No, NC.  And it's pronounced like 'bow,' as in a hair bow.

B&M was a railroad that ran between its namesake towns for a total distance of 3.8 miles.

@ Sawyer, I'd stay away from 4nscale. I ordered 3 decoders from them a month ago, and I'm still waiting.SoapBox [soapbox]

I e-mailed them after 10 days asking if it had shipped, they said they were on back order and were on there way. 20 days later, nothing. I'm probably going to call them monday.

@ Robby, you have more locos than me (I have 18, would have been 19 if I had 20 more bucks at the dothan show)

In other news, to avoid the confusion about people mixing me and Sawyer up, I'm putting my name in my signature.

OK.  Let's understand a few things about this bill.

First, Nothing, and I mean nothing coming out of Congress is veto-proof until the President signs it into law, and that has not been done yet, although all indications are that he will.

Second, the funding is actually 15.4 billion over 5 years.  This funding is included as part of Amtrak's Reauthorization.  The bill also includes instructions to study installing the following routes into the Amtrak system:

a.  The "Southern Montana Route" i.e., via the old NP between Sandpoint ID and Minneapolis.

b.  The "Pioneer" Route between Seattle and Salt Lake City

c.  A Florida Route from Chicago

It DOES NOT include studies of routes between Dallas and Shreveport, New Orleans and Florida or Las Vega to Salt Lake City.

The bill also provides a mechanism whereby host railroads can be billed for delays they cause to Amtrak trains.  The process is quite lengthy, so do not see any action anytime soon.

There are also Hours of Service provisions and modifications, funds to allow purchase of new locomotives and cars as well as meet obligations to unions that the carrier just settled with.

Any questions?  Ask away......

Well I have no Questions but...

Looks like I'm getting a Undec F45 form Athearn, and getting some one to paint her in WC. I'll also be ordering a ATSF FP45 and stripping the lettering and patching her that way

I also have no questions.

I'm drooling over the aTSF F45s over on M.B. Klien. I'm gonna wait until either A) they go down to 60 bucks, or B) I get the two locos I want for my b-day and ask for that for christmas.

Let's hope they get down to 60 bucks before Horizon discontinues them...Angry [:(!]...I choose FP45 100 on the Athearn Site because it hadn't showed "Discontinued" yet, but it looks like they did. So my LHS put it on back order, but if I can't get that I'll be on the preorder list for the next run.

I have the new Bachmann N scale 44 tonner on order and I have also ordered a kit for a 70 tonner.  The 70 tonner is a craftsman kit and should keep me busy for a while.  It will be painted for the original Norfolk Southern, probably the first (pre Tarwheel) red scheme.

Me and another person at my local MR club are both hoping Athearn releases the F45s before Christmas. He's waiting for his SF one, I'm waiting for m BN ones (I so want to MU the F45s with my existing SD45s)

Be sure to tell us how good that bachmann 44 tonner is please. It looks like a good deal, and I wouldn't mind having a little switcher.

Yep, F45, SD45, SD45 consist looks quite nice! I'd like to do that in WC, if Athearn Releases a WC F45.

Looks like Wisconsin Illinois and Northern (WIN) Will be purchasing 4 SD60s for the new Power Plant in Green Bay. They will be numbered in True WIN numbering system, the 60XX series. These will be former EMDX aka Oakway SD60s (that in the real world may be returned to EMD). 6000 is painted in a Wisconsin 150 year scheme that goes back to 1998 from the WC, with a Wisconsin and Southern inspired scheme. 6001-6003 will be in the normal WIN scheme. Two More SD60s may be added to the WIN roster; 6004 and 6005.

Here's some progress from me. Sorry for the poor quality pictures.

First, I'm getting close to a diorama to display my trains on while I'm still waiting on space for a large layout. Just out of frame at the bottom is a road crossing.

And my new yard office. I still need to make a sign for it.
