About EJE818
I am a railfan from Joliet, IL right by the EJ&E Western Subdivision and not too far from Joliet Union Station and the EJ&E's Joliet Yard. The EJ&E is one of the most facinating operations in the country, if not the world in my opinion, with a roster of SD38-2s and all kinds of unique lesser known stuff. They even have a high hood unmodified SD18! The J has won numerous safety awards and is recognized for its quality service. I have been fortunate to live so close to the J. Unfortunatly, the day February 1st, 2009 came along, The EJ&E was sucked away, into the vast network of CN. Sure, it will improve congestion in the Chicago area. Sure, it might make a lot of business sense. But the CN is nothing like the EJ&E. The CN doesn't have all the history and significance to the Joliet area as the EJ&E has for 122 years.
