Well GG, that is very interesting! I wonder what other railroads did in stations. I wouldn't think they all had crazy contraptions like this!

Yup! I imagine it would be fun to model the B&M in this Era... Hmmm... I think I will! Tongue [:P]

I unscrewed the plywood, and removed the track from the module today. I need to get a sheet of Pink Foam now... Anyways, here's an older picture

Mine was more the lack of work I have(my car hobby is directly affected by my job in a body shop..both money and motivation wise) and when things at work go bad..It made my hobby horrible....so I decided to can it and go back to something a bit cheaper and accesible at all hours :P

Some more tidbits:

My music collection spans 500 years, from classical guitar of the 1500s and 1600s to Three Doors Down, with the majority clustered around the late 1960s through the early 1980s rock.

I got to sit in the cab of Mallard a year ago:

The cab of a Whitcomb 75 tonner:

I also play around with electronics.  Here's a guitar tube amp I was working on a while back:

I build model ships.  Here is a Sharpie I did for my girlfriend

The cockpit is planked in mahogany, the deck was in the process of being planked with cedar, and the seats are teak

I am currently working on the Norfolk Southern rail ferry John W. Garrett in N scale; it will go on display at the Museum of the Albemarle in Edenton, NC.  I also volunteer at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, NC, where I am a Docent for the Repository, which includes artifacts from Blackbeard's flagship.  However, most of the work I do for the museum is either maintainance of the museum's model collection or work in the boat shop on restoration or construction of wooden boats.

My girlfriend's last name appears on the side of this hopper:

I believe that I am the only one my age to get a cab ride in a Fairbanks Morse diesel that was, at the time, in revenue service:

My operating system is Linux.

There's just something about sailing. Maybe it's the pretty girl serving as a bow ornament.

Hey guys!

I'm very happy, because I got my airbrush, and compressor today. They are second hand, but it is a great start. Once I get more into this, I will invest into a better airbrush. I only have a cheap Badger, and I'll later look into a Paasche. I'm not complaining! Afterall, the previous says he painted about $30,000.00 in brass locomotives with it, so it can't be that bad. Tongue [:P]

Welcome DarkTalon!

Tommrow I'm going for a 3 day railfan trip to the Iron Range for a final big bang to end the year. Friday we're going to stay in Superior, check out the yards there. Saturday we'll make out way up to Iron Junction. Sunday we'll get my last few shots I want and then make out way back to Wausau.

Looks great tyler Thumbs Up [tup]

I think I'll be building a small engine facility to showcase my locomotives. While only one is operating right now, hopefully I'm gonna get the shells for my other three sometime, and then I'm asking for some locos for my birthday in november.

I'm going to work on covering my ceiling with plastic sheet to stop dust falling from the ceiling...as soon as I finish drying off...

I just marched with my fife & drum corp in the Sudbury, MA muster in the rain, in full costume. Picture this type of thing except in the muddy grass with puddles and in the pouring rain... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-EcQuqTfaI My dad took that video, I'm playing with my corp near the end of the video. Fun, huh?Tongue [:P]

I just got back from the Green Co, WI model railroad show, and I got some awesome deals. 10 custom line switches (6 no. 6, 2 no. 4, and 2 wyes I'm going to turn into a double slip) for $40, a Pilsbury hopper and 15 feet of flextrack for another $20.

Well, I just spent $87.23 on a cement plant (looks almost exactly like the Faller kit), a Pikestuff single stall engine house, and 30 Caboose Hobbies Sprung Ground Throws. Then I have a Proto 2000 GP7 in PRR paint coming in the mail in a few days.

I'm hoping to start covering the ceiling tonight with plastic sheeting to reduce dust and keep my tracks clean so I can prepare my layout for the arrival of the GP7. Plus, I still haven't run WRS 1701 on it's home rails yet.

Funn!
I am stripping... ...my locomotives...
The 70 Tonner is down to bare black plastic. The S4 and 44 Tonner are soaking at the moment. The S4 and 44 Tonner will get Conway Scenic paint. I haven't decided on what the 70 Tonner will receive, but it may receive WRS or New England Northern decals, or it may receive something from my decal drawer... whatever I can find... Smile [:)]
I have yet to order my bridge from Walthers. My hopes are to place my order with Atlas prior to the November shows, so I can have handrails for the S4. After the last show in December, I'll either give the Conway Scenic shell to my friend, or keep it, but I'll be painting the new S4 shell into Claremont Concord Railway.

Found it! no scenery yet, but hey, I just finished laying the track.

overview:

servicing (has GP30) and inbound parts (boxcar) tracks:

open-air storage tracks/shop tracks (basically, not gonna spend on a roundhouse)

There will hopefully be at least some ballast down by next weekend, maybe even tommorow. I also know what parts I need to order from atlas for my other three locos, just gotta wait for the money lol.

Sounds familiar, I was in the West Carteret band, marching first semester, concert and symphonic second.

I want to get mine repaired, but I don't know if it's worth it.

Might be better to go out and buy a new one.

I got that engine terminal done. And today I was taking it outside for some pics, smashed it against the door frame, half the scenery came off (out of 50:50 white glue/water) and the tracks were jolted up, so I shook off the remaining scenery and relaid the track. Almost done too, should have it finished up this weekend. I'm gonna do the scenery right this time, so it'll have to wait.

That's a new one...Whistling [:-^]

Today the ceiling went from this; a dust-raining mess...

To this: covered and (hopefully) easier to keep my track clean.

That should help a lot. I used to have that when I had my 4x8. Just make sure that the light fixtures and frame don't get hot enough to start melting that plastic, because if it droops down and touches a light, get out of the house!

Nothing from me... I have to write an essay for History so I doubt I'll be able to decal the 70 Tonner... I'm placing my order with Walthers tonight, and with luck it will process by tomorrow afternoon... Smile [:)]
