Another solution would be to clear off the desk and paint it one color, I reccomend white. It's easy to find small parts on a white desk as they stand out! Plus it looks neat, at least until you spill more paint on it... (my work has a bunch of drips of black, brown and grey on it, and I spilled most of a bottle of silver as well...)

I don't have much table space, and much of my work is done on one of the 'self-healing' cutting boards, so I don't worry too much about ruining the nice ol' IKEA table.

Yeah, I normally know I post on TRP and not here, but I do have some important model information. I'm looking into purchasing a EJ&E SD38-2 in the new chevron scheme! It is the 663, but the seller forgot to mention what scale it was, and I requested that he e-mail me a couple pics of it. It is $70, and if it is as cool looking as I hope, I consider that a steal for a Kato EJ&E SD38-2! Hopefully everything works out so I can purchase it!

I think I saw the locomotive on another thread, I'm pretty sure it was an Atlas SD40-2. Am I right?

Since we're reviving it, I'll post some photos of what I've been busy doing, starting to rebuild the Concord, NH yard.

Yup, I've been busy...and I still don't know what the new yard plan will look like! I think the classification tracks may be stub-ended, but I'm not sure.You can count on longer locomotive servcicing tracks and a long siding to store "junk" and the MOW equipment. I've been slowly gathering that kind of stuff. Here's my "junk"/MOW roster, most of which never gets used.

figured id make an appearence... i'm 17 (18 on the 23rd) and i'm in the precess of tearing one (crappy) layout down, but i don't think i'm gonna build another for a while. i'm off 2 college in a year, so it's not really worth starting one until i'm done with that. dorm rooms aren't exactly gigantic, you see.

Well, the SD38-2 is up on ebay so I'm going to hopefully win it to add another EJ&E engine to my colloection, yes I have quite an extensive collection of HO EJ&E engines, what a surprize!

Oh and one favor, nobody go on Ebay and try outbidding me on this engine when I get my bid in!

We missed TMRP's first Birthday 11 days ago! An idea by a couple of teens on a forum, and now look what it turned out to be!

The EJ&E SD38-2 is now officially owned by me! I won it for $144, which is about what a Kato SD38-2 is worth. This was was actually scratch built and has a non-working red strobe, stripes on both the front and rear, and even the sill stripes along the frame. I'll try to post some photos of it and my EJ&E fleet when the 663 arrives at its next destination! It looks pretty cool, if you look quickly you can still see some photos of it on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220279635692&category=19134&sspagename=rvi:1:1v_. It was worth every cent! For comparison reasons here is the prototype version of 663. The model is pretty accurate of the prototype.

It is, I added the link to the ebay auction to the above post because it is still up for now, so look quickly before the page dissapears! The model has been extensively EJ&Etized (haha, I came up with a new word!). Like I said, everything down to the red strobe and the antenna is there, that is something you'll never find on any factory built EJ&E. It is a very welcome addition to the fleet and it will look good with its sister 665 (in the J-Ball scheme) here. It is also a very important addition because now all of EJ&E's road fleet paint jobs are represented on my layout, something I've always wanted to do.

Well, it is just a circle of track, I don't have any room for a actual layout, but the SD38-2 should run fine, plus I can always bring it over to a friend of mine's house so it can show me how well it really runs. Maybe someday I can get more room and have a real layout also.

I have a bit of a progress update. I finally printed out decals for 6 of the cars and 2 locos cluttering my bench, so hopefully after finishing painting a few of them I'll have some nice trains to show everyone.

I bet it will look even nicer when I see it in person for the first time, I might have to post some photos of 663, 665, 323 and 852 together! I'll also have to do a side by side mini-photo shoot of all 4. The 323 is another custom painted engine, SW1200 in the John Deere green scheme, another very rare find because nobody makes the correct logos for the green engines. I also have a scratch built model of a chop nosed SD18 I bought at a swap meet in Homewood. I know $144 is a lot for a HO engine but with the details on 663 worked down all the way to the antenna on top, it was worth it!

This is just to make GG mad, but here we go:

Today I got my spray booth. All sheet metal, with the right fan. It's got a fan designed like the furnace ones, so the actual motor never comes in contact with paint, fumes etc...

Also came with a really nice wood table, very well built.

And I got this for $40.00! The fan is worth over $40.00, what a deal!

Now next week I'm getting my airbrush and compressor, even better deal, $35.00! All good quality Paasche stuff, I'm really happy with it.
