Sorry, forgot to mention that. Yea, that F40 is nice, but I really like the Challenge Stradale. I'm F50GT, what's your name?

i know how to stop it and that is by not doing the grown folks like i really want to. you get the pic i hope. i have spen t more money on this little girl and the reason is her mom wants to buy every new invention that comes out, because she thinks she needs it, or mom just wants it. guess what we have more stuff that we haven't used still in the closet, and every time we don't use something i tell her i thought we needed and its still sitting here in the packaging that it came. i tell her i told you we didnt need this now look at the wasted money sitting there. that could've been spent on you or my trains, and not sitting here in the closet. so now i have told her don't buy another thing until i approve of it. now thats saving money 101.

Good afternoon all,

Doug, we had two short vans.  One was a 1990 model, the last year they made it with a manual transmission.  That was one of the smoothest shifting transmissions I ever drove.  It had the 2.5 overhead cam 4, which was a stretched version of the 2.2 that was in the Omni/Horizon.  That was a good combination and we had that for a long time.  The A/C went out on it and then the body started to go and we traded it in when we got the PT Cruiser in 2004.  We also had a 1998 model with the 2.4 double overhead cam, which would have been a screamer with a 5-speed, but Dodge only sold it with a 3 speed "slush box".  It was serviceable, but it ran out of breath quickly.  After it was totaled in a wreck in 2001, I told the wife we were getting the long wheelbase model, and it has been very nice to drive.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

At Prattville AL BPS.  In room at Holiday Inn across the street.  Resting.  Went to store and did my "entry chores" [restocked shelves as they are never done right, rearranged an end cap and put up two POP posters].  Then at 3 PM my time [they are CDT], I finally got to eat for the first time today.

Reggie, be proud of both of those pretty ladies.

Time for a cool one!!!!  [Pepsi One, shame on you thinking what you did Wink [;)]]

Reggie, beautiful family you have there.  You can be proud of the football days, but I bet you are more proud of that darling little girl!

Chief, change of plans, we will be heading to Montgomery tomorrow evening, and then I will be heading to Prattville Saturday.  After dinner, we will be heading back to GA as I have lighting duties for early church.  Let me know the plans regarding the get together.  Also, give me an address to meet y'all at as I can just plug it into the GPS.

Good afternoon for New England. I just finished priming and painting my yellow starter set boxcar. It's now "B&M" blue. Actually, it's Tamiya French Blue, and is an almost exact match for Lionel's B&M blue. This is the first time I've used the Tamiya paint and I wasn't prepared for how forcefully it came out of the can. That resulted in a small run way down at the bottom of the car...Lionel's had runs too. It's all good.

Let me get this right. The Chief goes into grocery stores in strange towns and rearranges the stock on the shelves? And puts up point of purchase displays? Does that sound a little coockoo to anyone else? Time for Wapner, Chief!

Got to get going. I'm making the kids some dinner. Wink [;)]

Reggie - nice family, have a 15 y/o princess..she thinks she's got me wrapped around her finger, but I know better....

Doug & Mike...Chrysler stopped make SWB vans as they aren't selling like the bigger ones and since GM & Ford are not making minivans anymore, they can preety much do what they want.  The imports have nothing on the American vans (in my opinion).

Hey Brent, I get the feeling that you n I are the only ones that get Fife's Birthday thing!!

That is very true. Normal for Chief.  He is the only passenger that boarded the plane, carrying his own " Big " seat. I wonder if it was a Cargo Plane.

Hey you OHIO guys...I passed the Silver Meteor heading South today and on the tail end was the Ohio Central heavyweight Sugar Hill.  An out of place passenger car on the streamliner Meteor.  I got a quick look, it is a very beautiful car, just wondering why it was here....

Any thoughts?

After a 1 day break from the shed I was back at it today... got both gable ends sided, trim along the roof line, and 2/3 drip edge on.  Moved more items inside the shed too... now that it is weather tight to an extent nothing should get damaged if we have another storm between now and completing the roof (finished drip edge, apply felt paper, install shingles).  Susan stopped out tonight to check on me and she asked if I had enough siding... Whistling [:-^]... I already had the gable ends finished... it's all good... still love her.

Oh Chief...Just having a little fun...

I was aways on the Architect side, but I usually walked thru with corporate after a soft opening, and discussed changes for the prototype.  I did see enough plan-a-grams to know exactly what you're talking about, and can walk into some of the retail I worked on and point to changes.

Stop by the Panera Bread at the Summit in Montgomery...I worked on that one.  Let me know what you think of the dining room, especially in the evening.  We put lights in the floor around the giant glass portico.

Good evening guys,

Good news on the insurance front.  It usually gets results when the guy who chooses the insurance carrier and pays the bills, gets in the act.

Don, Glad you are over the panic attack, thought you might have to call in your friend Jack Daniels to give you a hand.

Reggie, The little princess sure is a charmer, guess she takes after her mom.

I did pick up my MTH (sorry Chief) L&NE Mikado today.  Great runner, great sounds and of course lots of smoke.  Ran it with 15 mixed die cast hoppers and a Weaver L&NE caboose.  It's a keeper.  Laz, Barry was out in back unloading his Van.  The garage bay was full to the roof.  Looks like another batch of stuff has arrived.

Take care,

First sunday in march, first sun in nov.Been a seller at their shows for many years and also help the Wild Bill group set up and take down so I do know some of them however I usually only see them on show days and would not be able to ask about the bldg. maybe someone in this ho forum would know as they are a large club.

Fife - I got it, which is why I said unbirthday present in my reply. Whistling [:-^]

Reg - great pics - I suspect the princess got her looks from the Queen?  You know Reg is I think latin for king???  Regent is king, right?  Doug M or somebody check me on that, I'm too tired.

My son and I picked up our tuxedos for the big wedding this weekend.  My baby sister is getting married and it's gonna be huge.  She's number 6 up the aisle and the last of us.  I'll bet my folks are already in for over $30K.  I suggested my folks throw a much smaller party and give them a check for the balance for a down payment on a house, but that about got me skinned alive by my mom!  Oh well, gotta keep the economy going I guess.  Apparently nobody makes a wrench or nut driver that is 2.5 mm around here.  Have to buy like a $40 set of precision tools to get it.  Hmmm - might be worth it, but not now, already spent enough on trains this month for sure.

Chief, sounds like you are having a good trip, but have you stopped at any train stores?  BTW I heard a local restaurant offering meal ad-ons for 99 cents, including GRITS.  See, STL style pizza might not be to everybody's taste, but we aren't completely uncivilized!

Blueberry Hill Chuck - how's the bridge going?  You gonna ballast it after all?  Cooled off a little here after some rain, but the rain hit just North and South of Arnold, so no good for me.

Took about 45 minutes to go 2 miles in the city this morning.  Got off the highway and stopped.  Apparently there was a speaker thing with Colin Powell and others at the Saavis Center or whatever it is called this week - used to be Kiel Auditorium.  This is just a block from our office.  Guess what, the Censored [censored] were selling parking in our lot for $15 before management caught on and stopped it.  When I got there, I got one of the last spots that was left.  What a mess.

Colin - My uncle flew in bombers in WWII.  Also, I work for the government and see a lot of records from WWII.  I have seen an old record that was literally signed by George Patton!

Don - I don't trust those stores to cut my wood any more.  Go get a little saw guide for like $30 and a sheet of foam that's 4 x 8.  Put the plywood on the foam on the ground, attach the guide and cut it yourself, good side down.  Another thing, they use those same blades forever and they splinter your wood really badly.

John F - sounds like a nice MTH locomotive!  I read your post about Grandpa's pipesmoke mgasteam.  Have you ever tried the hot chocolate?  Is it good?  I think this stuff is safe for Lionel and MTH both, right?

Laz - sounds like you got a lot done for your friend and also had some fun shooting! Hope you are feeling better soon.

88 - that shed is a really cool project.  I forget, are you going to run electric to it?

Roy, Roger, Sir James, Nick, John Baker, Dave, Kevin, and everybody else - howdy!

PS - John, we stopped and got frozen custard at Culvers.  Sorry, didn't get any for you, but there is more popcorn, cookie-dough icecream (try it!), and also fudge bars in the freezer!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all.

I sure am glad I don't live close to Barrys, or some of the other shops.  I couldn't afford it.

Went back to Lowes, need one more sheet of plywood, got it, and the guy there tonight was good.  Cut correctly no splinters, lucky huh?  Ay way that was the last one.  Hopefully get it on tomorrow.  Had to clean up neighbors tree trimming tonight, what a mess.  Cypress trees they have all these lethal needles.  what a pain.

Lets see, I need to put down sound board, (approx 5 sheets), then do a dry run with track, want to verify alignments, then surface covering, wiring, facia boards, lay track, make bridge platform.  Hmmmmm, I have a presentation on Saturday in La Jolla, computer show following weekend.   I might need to rent a layout to meet my deadline.  The big boy may be here before I know it.  Wouldn't be surprised if its here in 3 weeks or so.

Hope the rondevous is a big success.

Got to go into work early tomorrow, people coming out to replace windshield in wifes car.  Never seen a window with so many options, moisture sensor, antenna, heads up display.... $$$$

Sure has been HOT here, in the upper 90's, and humity down around 28-34%. (That's unusual normally around 45-55% because of being so close to the ocean.

Talk to you all later.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a muggy 68 degrees. Suppose to clear, and go up to 88, today, with all sunshine. I hope so.

Today, I have a few errands to run and a few chores to do, then I am free to do what I like. Maybe run trains later. I have not gotten down to the train room for a few days. Everytime I plan on it, something comes up and I never make it. Bridge still needs to get ballast and the train station needs some detailing. I guess I have been spending too much time under the shade tree. Summer is too short to miss it.

Dining Car is here and breakfast is served. Later.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Good morning all,

It is some kind of weather in SE Indiana, but I am not sure what it is.  Last night was a disaster in soccer.  The girls got pounded by a very bad team 6-0.  On top of that, the game was delayed 30 minutes due to an isolated lightning strike several miles away.  I know safety rules, but some common sense is appropriate as well. Lord help them when they play somebody good.  The boys at least did not lose, but only because their game was rained (lightning) out.  This could be a very long year.  There is the usual fare on the dining car.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
