Dave, good luck with the meds for the wife.   Deputy is a real person.  Got off on the wrong foot with me but since then, he is OK.  The rest is, I'm not sure and I just do not discuss.   In fact, while I was out to dinner and touring Miami Beach, you all got out of hand!!!!!!!!!!  Stop arguing over who is who.

Dave:  Great news.  It's pretty amazing what one squeeky wheel can accomplish!  I'm still praying that she'll be off the meds all together.

Hey Dave, that's good news.  A lot of leg work but good news just the same.

Reggie, nice to see you again.

I'll just weigh in quickly on this deal.....knock it off, drop it move on, whatever.  I'm not donating giving or puting any money, credence or materials to this BS.  Like Brent said, go to your corner, iron it out and move on.  I and I think WE all have enough on our plate(s) in reality and come here for some common brother/sisterhood in toy/model trains and a small break.  I may not be a #1 all around popular guy here, but I enjoy my Northern Brothers and their humor and the endless banter with their foil the Sutherners.  It's all good here and I'm just really tired of 1 or 2 DA's screwing this up.  I like it here and think I have found a "home".  No other board compares in my opinion.

THAT said, I will no longer speak of this subject or any other relating to it.  If that's not acceptable to some, then TS.

Until my next raid, I remain Rich the NJ Devil2

Dave - good news!  Hope things work out now and your wife gets the care and medicine she needs.  I run into this a lot at work, that people lock in the little stuff and overlook the big picture.  I'll bet the cost for hospital ER care was like 3 times the cost of the meds to you, but like 30 times for the insurance people - they don't pay that same price for the medicine!

Reggie....  The moderators should be able to tell from the IP address of the poster.  Maybe we should email overlord and have him look into this - maybe one of the computer guys (Don?  Roy?  ???) could figure it out.  I know on another website a person posted 3 positive reviews of a book within a few minutes of each other posing as different posters and the moderator was able to comment next to the posts that they came from the same IP.

Sir James,

Thank you very much for the info regarding Legacy. This whole setup sounds very interesting. I better start saving up now.

Ok, I just needed to cool down. I'm going to let it go completely. Anyway, my dad walked into the house this afternoon with a new book for me called "Marine Sniper." It's a very good book so far. I also just joined a World War 1 and 2 history forum.

Chuck,

I had a family member in WWII that I just found out about. He was a medic. I am not sure where, but I believe it was in Europe. My dad told me about him.

WWII Atlantic is probably my favorite area during the war. I am really interested in the Ardenne. For some reason, France during this era is so interesting to me. I have a whole collection of WWII DVD's called ''WWII Battlefront." Maybe I will watch all of the Atlantic parts tonight. I also love learning about the Axis and Allied weapons, vehicles, and strategies.

What is your favorite part?

Well Don, I was considering going back to HO, perhaps I should hang out at the model railroading forum and the General Disscussion forum. Sadly, I have been accused of starting this. Dennis B-1 was the first to mention it, in a way intented to make it into an argument. I also find Reggie's post more childish than mine.

Now, I have respect for yall getting mad, but why? Even over this issue, I dont get mad---- I get aggravated, but not mad. I dont think I can find myself getting mad at somebody on a forum I dont even know. I think getting mad over this issue really isnt neccessary. Sure I'm tired of it, and I'm sure many other people are...But get mad? Soapbox mad? Hmm, somewhere I dont find that very "maddening"

Mixed feelings I think Don. I think your just in a bad mood, like many other people are. Your layout and all, its put you in a bad mood. Unless that comment has no relation to mood, then thats...kinda.... What happened with our chat last Friday? Your post that I'm a good person and we have all had times like this? Thats why I think your just in a bad mood right now.

I've got a real serious gripe !!   And this is NOT KID stuff !!

SoapBox [soapbox]

Now I AM serious, this is really big, I'm so upset I'm beyond anger !!! Here's the issue:

I finished up the framework for the next section of my layout.  And I'm putting plywood top on it.  The framework came out prettty good, everything square, seems level, and measures out correctly.  (What was suppose to meausre to the inch, did. That, that was suppose to measure 1/2, did.  That, that was suppose to the measure 1/4 did.  Etc., you get the idea.  No 3/16, 7/32, 5/16 etc.)  So I  then figure out which piece to get from a sheet and how to best optimize the sheet.  As it turns out only need two sheets.  As most of you know Lowes and Home Depot will cut for you.  (Fantastic)  I have used this service in the past and its been great.

So off I go, have the first sheet cut, (3 pieces), then the second sheet cut, (4 cuts), one cut ended up with a one piece being 20" wide, andother piece 28" wide.  Now I knew one piece was going to be smaller due to the saw blade.   So  at this time the guy says "You know I have a 1/4" tolerance, and the sheet is only 48" wide?"   Ok, yeah I know.  So he cuts the last cut.  I load up, pay out, and go home.

Go to put the pieces in place, AND not a DA----ED one is cut right.  This idiot was lineing up the saw blade with the measurement on the outside of his blade. So every piece is undersized.  The scrap pieces all are 3/8" bigger than should be.  Now I just cant believe this, does it assume a lot that a dimension of 32" means 32" and NOT 31 5/8" ??   This has never happened before, and OF COURSE I cant take it back.

I will recover and be able to overcome the issue, but it really ticks me off!  You would thing they would do some training.

As I said this is really upsetting!! I was so ticked last night I had a hard time sleeping.  And then that caused for a bad day at work,  and then came home and was too tired to work in the train room.

Then have to read all the identity crisis issues...................

I need a new hobby, I think I will start drinking !!!!SoapBox [soapbox] OVER !!

And,

if you don't know who you are, and you don't like it here, then go somewhere else !!    Grayson VERY bored with your antics, this is NOT a teenage forum for kids, we treat each other with respect.  If you can't do that then LEAVE.  If anything, being 13 gets you EXTRA free passes, but you have used them all.

(Note: The post immediately preceeding this post, was significantly altered, after my post was originally posted.  Maybe for the better.  Dont want to see this thread get "locked down" or even worse deleted, as so many of the previous subject matter has.)

Hello All!    I'm now in Scranton,Pa @ 1:00am & had dinner with a cousin & his wife a few hours ago. Having a good time & using the Computer at the Clarion Hotel on I-81 to check up on the posts & my e-mails also. Was late getting into Scranton as there had been a very bad Truck Wreck on westbound I-84 about 45 miles away from Scranton & sat in traffic for over one & a half hours wondering what had happened?  Hope the Driver is living as the Truck took out a very long section of Guardrail. It is a bad place for accidents as some of the Semi's go around the curves kind of fast.Sad [:(] I left Fairfield,CT @ 2:35 & got into Scranton after 7:30. We went to Olive Garden for dinner & visited at their Apartment afterwards. Had a nice time also. In case you're wondering, Grayson really did call me & we did indeed talk. He is who he is & no one else at all! He seems to be very nice as well & just wants to participate & contribute here also & not trying to stir up trouble. No need for anyone to leave the forum here or to get upset. If you want more details; Just PM,E-Mail or call me. & I'll talk to you about it. That's all. Don't know the next time I'll be on a computer? So, if you e-mail me, It may be a day or two depending on what plans Walt has for us to do while I'm in Jermyn,Pa.(My Father's Hometown) Take Care all.

Back to my normal, pleasant, friendly, self.  (Jack always seems to understand me)

Chuck, that sure is friendly, offering the OTTS private jet !   And I thought southern hospitality was suppose to be good.  You guys have that beat !

The only concern is the crew.  Buckeye got me to wondering, now has the jet actually flown? Or is it one of those modified turbine trains?

Dave - Great job !  Its not often a company will go to battle for one of their employees.  Must have been a compeling letter you wrote, and obviously they do care.  Great news for your wife, hope it all works out.

John - Can't  believe you  FORGOT the  camera !!!

Reggie - Your story line of your layout if really great!  Keep it going!  An occasional picture of your new daughter wouldn't be bad either.

Chief - Relax thing are under control here.  Buckeye is smoking and said he is going to be flying high,  Jim F is out laughing with the hogz, Chuck is lowering the boom, Brent has a typing tutor, Dave F has his company out buying drugs, John did leave the forum however, (he had too many posts), Fifedog has a mariachi band in his kitchen, Reggie is back, and Sir James went to the fair.   Colin and Chuck are going to refight WWII.  And finally Buckeye is sending me the Blue Comet he mistakenly sent to fifedog, he missed my birthday.  Oh yeah, John came back, he and Chewey are having a overnighter with ice cream at Jims house.

Beyond that NOTHING of importance.

That took a lot to write, Chris and his girlfriend are here watching movies,  So have a great day all.

John:  Haven't heard anything about the remote control trains here.  Denver was the start, with a UP switchman, going under a car.

Morning.  Yawn !!  Zzz [zzz] Big storms last night.  Happy Birthday fifedog.  Happy B-Day [bday] Late night last night.  Was up reading the instruction manual for the OTTS plane.  Reminds me of the TMCC manual, or was it the other way around.

Chuck, your Indians finally didn't screw it up.

Mitch, I must respectively disagree with your comments about the Chief being up too early.  At the Mayor of the Great City of Roseyville, he should be on the job 24/7.  He should be sleeping at city hall on an old army cot in a jail cell.  The citizens deserve his every waking moment.

Reggie, yes keep posting photos of your layout and daughter.  In fact everyone should post more photos. Big Smile [:D]

Good morning, all.

David Farquhar, Congrats on a job well done visa vi getting your wife's meds covered. I sincerely hope that what ever condition is causing your wife's nausea is not serious, and that she regains her health soon.

Colin, my dad fought in the South Pacific during WWII and had a ship he was on sunk while in battle. He didn't talk about the war much, but when he did, you could see why he came back a different person. He also served in the Korean conflict. The only good wars are the ones never fought if you ask me.

Don,  your boards are all 3/8" too small? Not something to get stressed out about. Pull all the boards to the front of the layout so that the gaps are in the back. Go back to HD or Lowes and buy your self a 2x4 sheet of plywood or MDF and cut filler strips with a radial or jig saw. I've purchased thes "handy panels", and they are only a few bucks. Problem solved.  Next time you have wood cut, bring a tape measure to measure the cut piece before you pay for it. Another problem solved. You now owe me a dime for solving your problems. Don't make me come after you for it!

My Lionel Maine Central box car arrived from Californy last night. Very nice! I have a starter set yellow boxcar that I was going to repaint as MEC, but bought blue paint instead and will make it a Boston and Maine car. My local hobby store is going out of business and everything is 50% off. Great deals, but I'm not happy to see it close. My best source of ridiculously cheap post war merchandise, but also a wonderful place to visit and get supplies.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clearing 65 degrees. Big storm, here too, last night. Lots of thunder and lightening. Looks like it is over with. Going up to 88, today. Sun is trying to shine.

Today, I am taking it a little easy. Been busy the last 2 days. Have a few things to do around the house and then, maybe, I can relax outside. I may even find time to run trains, later.

Buckeye...I found my copy of CTT, with you and Tom and LAZ, on the cover. That was a good issue.

Fifedog....Happy B-Day [bday]

Dining Car is here, and ready. No storm delay. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Brent, you're not far off. I actually looked into it once. A GED is OK, but you do have to have an associate's degree. But the degree doesn't have to be in biology or anything else relevant to health care. You just have to have one. Since I have a 4-year degree I'm probably overqualified, even if that degree is in journalism. Journalism has nothing to do with health care, but a journalist would ask the doctor some questions and we can't have that.

Dave,
A few years back I worked for an insurance carrier in thier IT department.  I had the misfortune of meeting many of their case workers due to the 1,000s of errors they constantly received.  I also had to support one of their case work applications... that is how I know how little education they require, it really is sad.  You have these very lowly educated people who feel the need to exert power over people and it is really sad.  Your wife's case is not the worst I have heard about, although it is disgusting none-the-less.  My father, who is a diabetic with high blood preasure, anxiety, and also a crohn's sufferer, has an almost monthly run in with his insurance people.  His G.I. Specialist is constantly having to call them to explain why he needs to be on the different medications he is on.  A few years ago they refused him the medication that absorbs stomach acids and helps to reduce his crohn's flare-ups.  Without it my father is in constant pain due to increased gas build-ups in his intestines.  Well he had to go 3 days without it and at the start of the 3rd day he couldn't get out of bed to go to work, he was just dibilitated.  My Mother called the insurance people and told them that if they didn't authorize his medicines and he suffered one hour longer then she was seeking legal advice, she called the VP for his company and told him the same (he was hired by them knowing he had crohn's and couldn't be without the meds), about 20 minutes later the pharmacy called and told he to come pick up his meds.  I still think she should have filed a suit against the insurance company due to his pain and suffering, I've never in my life seen my dad that bad off...

Good morning all,

Wow!!  You don't sign on for a few hours and look at how many posts were made!  Dave, I am very glad to hear your wife got her medicine.  I am sorry to hear it took such extreme action, but sometimes that happens.  At least you have a good result.  Went to the Chrysler preview at the local dealership last night to look at the new minivan.  They have droppped the short version, which I think is a mistake.  We have the longer one now, but we started off with two shorter ones.  I also went to the YMCA to do weights.  One thing I forgot to mention at the state fair was seeing a completely built up Erector Hudson with the original box.  It was in an antique exhibit and quite impressive.  I see where the dining car arrived from "Points East".  I hope everyone (especially on the pot) has a good day.

PS  The first home Greensburg high school soccer game is tonight.  The girls are at home and the boys are on the road again.  I can not wait!

PPS  It is hot and humid in SE Indiana again.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
