OK.... What has started out as a fantastic day, sure has had an interesting twist to it. School Educators, Adminstrators, Doug M and Roy note:
This weekend is the Sr. Prom for Chris, so he and his Mom were going to go and pick up his Tux, after school today. As it turns out Mom had a hair appointment this AM. The appointment was rescheduled due to the hairdressers mother's care taker was going to be late, and the hairdresser had to reschedule the appointment to this PM. So.. Mom sends Chris a Text message on his cell phone. That she will be late. It vibrates in his pocket, he looks at it and the teacher says "As You Know That's A Violation". So he is sent to the Vice Principals Office. The Vice Principal says that since this is your 3rd violation (over 3 years), it is an automatic 1 day suspension.
Now he is the Stage Manager for the school play, with opening nite, tonight. So he can go for that, but not tomorrow night. (Not allowed on campus during the day of suspension.) Since the Prom is Saturday night, and in order to be allowed to go to the Prom the student MUST have attended school on the previous day.
WHAT A MESS !!

Good afternoon everyone,
Wow, there are a lot of posts to catch up on. I have been reading them for a few days now. The reason for my absence is school work. It is coming down to 2 weeks, and the teachers have decided to pile all this homework on us now, plus little quizzes and some more major tests. It was a busy week here. I did a project over the weekend that was due yesterday which turned out better than I expected it to, and I got everything else done that was needed for the other classes. I haven't been playing as much soccer as I want, but my job is in the way during the weekends, so most of the time I am really tired when I get home. But, I make great money and I am outside all day, so I'm really not complaining.
We had some thunder storms here last night. The front gutter was leaking heavily so I got the ladder out this morning like my dad asked me to. I got the muck out and then flushed it clean with the hose. So far, my work is done for the day.
I had off today because it's a holy day of obligation, and I have off tomorrow because the school gave us off. A nice long weekend, and I really need it.
I hope everyone is having a good day.
A quick run by this afternoon. Got another emergency case on the table and so this afternoon's plans are nixed. I hope to catch up on the rest of the posts later. Like Chief says, where is Colin? Probably caught up in all them young ladies and trains have taken a back seat....just like most of us, gets caught up with the women, goes to college, and then gets married and kids and then he comes back to his first love.

Roy - Maybe this is meant to be! A new home! This could be the perfect alternative to the foundation issue you were having. Could be lots of benefits.... definetly worth considering. You could even get your own rail car for accommodating your travel requirements. Your kids would probably really like living in a train depot.

What a relief !! On my elevated shelf I had meticously layed out the track plan using RR software. Of course the shelf width is critical, wanted it to be safe and yet as narrow as possible. Decided that 12.5 inches wide would be OK. THEN REALITY SETS IN. As it turns out the RR software builds based upon the track being 2" wide. Actually the track outside dimension is 3.5" measuring the ties. (The rails are 2" apart). So when you do the math it ends up that with a 2" space from the wall, then track 1 (3.5"), 2" space between tracks, track 2, and that leaves 1.5" to the shelf edge.
Concern of course is the 2" spacing and ONLY 1.5" to shelf edge. ITS GOING TO WORK !! The 2" clearing allows just enough space that permits all the cars and engines to pass in opposite directions without touching. Then for the edge I going to add on a small 2" metal strap, which extends from the shelf 1 1/4". Then put a vertical threaded rod through the strap extending 4" above the shelf. (Probably brass). Then will run a wire from post to post. Undecided whether I will use .032 steel wire or heavy fishing line.
But it will work, was just a little worried.

It's that one time of year that all the windbags come out of Annapolis, claiming their love and committment to horse racing (while trying to figure out how to get the biggest piece of the SLOTS pie). Does Churchhill Downs or Belmont have the same issues? Thousands of idiots will be in the Pimlico infield, drunk,fighting,doping and walking around in their own waste...smashing good time, eh?

It is a cool, foggy 45 degrees. Going up to only 62 today with a chance of rain showers. Hope not.
Today, I have some work to do around the house. We are going thru old treasures, stored in boxes, in the basement. I wonder why we kept some of this stuff. If the weather stays good, then I will be outside enjoying it. I need to clean up the train room for company, coming on the 26th. After that, I will pull up the steel bridge for painting. Should look good in a deep royal blue.
Dining Car has arrived from " Points West ", time for breakfast.

It is cooler and cloudy in SE Indiana with temps only in the 60s today. I rain does not interfere with soccer practice tonight. I went for a walk with the missus last night and then did weights at the YMCA. Stayed up and watched "Lost". Interesting that Charlie saved Naomi in the alley. Even more interesting that he did not die in the episode. Next week should be quite action packed. What do you think, Jimtrumpie? I second Chief's comments about TMCC Man. I hope he is ok. Plenty of bran muffins on the dining car this morning for "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.

Brewed a fresh pot, finished that and about to start a second pot. NOt much train related going on here lately. Have get the layout (closet) straightened up because we will have a house full of friends over Saturday for the graduation celebration and someone will want to see some trains run.
Fife - new Man Law - don't kill or maim yourself with the lame jack that is standard issue hence the revocation of your Man Law against having AAA change a tire in your driveway. Plus I am too old and out of shape to be crawling around on the blacktop farting with the jack under a car....
