Hi guys, I'm still around, just been busy.  Read the last few pages and it looks like most are healthy.  Prayers for Dewey, Barbara and Doug.

Garden growing wild.  Just a small garden as the Chief can attest but getting more than we can use and giving a lot away.  I think I read that Sir James finally picked his first tomato, is that correct?

Oh, BTW had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and had grits as well.

Take care,

Spent the weekend working on the house with Susan.  Friday we ventured out to Home Depot to order the wood for the shed... Saturday we removed the shutters from the house (16 pair), washed the siding (lots of dead bugs, cob webs, and old bee hives), washed the shutters, and painted them black.  Then went to Home Depot (again) to order the vanities, mirrors, and shower door for the bathroom remodel.  So all in all a very productive weekend... also went to FiL's on Saturday (deliver groceries) and he had fresh peaches off the tree... Dinner [dinner] 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream and 3 fresh peaches... Dinner [dinner]

Forgot to mention... I also lost 5 lbs!  So I'm now almost back to where I was went I met Susan... only 5 more to go... 10 till I reach my target...

Back - took about an hour to catch up on the pot!  Prayers for Dewey, Barbara and Doug.  Well, I had a good time at Mattoon.  Got there Thursday night with Jeff and we stayed up all night discussing the problems of the world - can't remember the solution, though Whistling [:-^].  Went on an early cruise at about 4:30 to 5 AM just as the sky was lighting up and checked out the lake, then rested up until the rest of the guys showed up.  Ron and Jeff went night fishing Friday.  Fished about all day yesterday.  Ron won longest fish and most fish.  Jeff won first fish.  We are pretty sure I won smallest fish Shock [:O] - killed it by accident, since if swallowed the hook down.  At least I didn't get skunked like one guy (Sharpie - Jeff's FiL).  Got home this evening and went out to Cracker Barrel for dinner (Country Fried Steak, Mashed potatoes, corn and green beans).

I purchased a mountain bike about 4-years ago.  I used to ride a lot...Planning to log some time in the saddle each day with the girls in the bike trailer behind.  Been partial to the rollerblades the last couple of years, pushing a stroller.  It means loading up the kids, and taking them to the park with paved walkways.  We live on a gravel road, difficult to skate.

Yesterday yardwork, placed parts order to the good Dr..  Time to fix all the train ailments.

Nothing much going on today.. Church, bikeride, trains, dinner with friends.

My wife and I met playing sand volleyball through mutual friends.  We used to play 1-day during the week, and saturday and sunday indoors.

Kids really seem to cramp that lifestyle.  They'll be playing soon!  In the meantime I need to loose 3 more inches, and I am finding a need for more energy just to keep up with them.

Good evening all,

I am reporting in late tonight as I have been away all weekend.  More details will follow, but we had a wonderful weekend in the great state of Ohio.  I saw some mention of American Bricks as well and I will comment on that tomorrow as well.  It is late and I had a long day.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' to All.  Just brewed a fresh pot.  Had a beautiful weekend in G'burg.  Low humidity, high in the low 80's. Couldn't ask for any better weather.

The Mrs. and I are planning to take the Potomac Eagle excursion train near Romney WV in the fall.  Anyone else taken that trip?  We are thinking about taking a weekday rather than weekend trip, figuring it might be a little less crowded. I think one of our friends who is a real bird watcher is going along too. Supposed to be prime bald eagle watching.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a nice 58 degrees. Blue skies. Going up to 80, today, with some clouds, later.

Today, I am going to do some chores around the house. Need to clean up some things that have been needing attention. Maybe run trains, later. Grass is all mowed for another week. Garden is getting ready to have some nice , red tomatoes. Cucumbers are plentiful. We had green peppers with dinner yesterday. Very good.

I am planning on going to the Train Show in Berea, Ohio, on October 6th , as I did last year. Hope to see some of you guys. Planning on having lunch at the Station, again.

Time for boarding the Dining Car. Breakfast is served.

Y'all have a great Monday.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL

I was just reading last nites late post about exercise and I'm not so sure it's a good idea. Look what happened to Kurt;Married with children. I'm afraid the pot has got me hooked, I use to go to the Toledo Blade first but now this is my first stop. I ordered new travel guides from AAA this morn. as mine were 9 yrs old, prices have probably gone up since then. My daughhter made resv. in Pigeon Forge so I guess its a go. I have got to convince them we need time in the Blue Ridge also.            Later folks, got a paper to read.       Sir James

Mornin' boys.  70's and calling for drizzle all day here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Sat down last night with the Mrs. and watched BRIDEZILLAS and ate Jolly Time Marshmallow popcorn...I won't be doing either of those again.Dead [xx(]

mitchelr - Romney is kinda my home away from home.  The South Branch Valley RR is my favorite shortline.  You may see C&O 8016, B&O 6604,and Chessie 6240 all on the same trip.  If you go during the week you may get to see a passing SBV local with their great looking GP9's, SD9's and SD18's (painted in B&O blue with yellow sills).  It's a cool trip, and you probably will see an eagle or two (I think they are on the payroll).  If the weather is nice ride in the open gondolla for pics.  Let me know if you need an idea for hotel and eatem' ups...

Good morning from a sunny Chicago where I am back to work. The eye is still a bit tired at times but I'm happy to be back.

Sir James, Pigeon Ford is sure beautiful country.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's my favorite part of an annual drive to South Carolina from my part of Illiniois.

Jim.....Yes, it is a nice show. NMRA. It is on the 6th and 7th. We went last year, and I thought it was a big show. A lot of 0 guage. It is at the Fairgrounds on Bagley Road, right off of I - 71. Then we went into Berea and had lunch at the Station restaurant, which is next to some tracks that are very busy with train traffic. Got some good pictures.

LOL!  No, once she saw the pic of you holding the puppy upside down she pretty much gave up hope!  LOL! Laugh [(-D]

On Saturday during our return trip from Home Depot, we were passing a house and there was a cat on the porch roof.  She says, 'We should stop and help it get down.' I told her we would see if it is still on the roof when we go to the grocery store later in the day, if it is we'll stop.  Well as we are passing later in the day the cat wasn't on the roof and I pointed that out to her... 'Yeah it probably tried to get down and died. Now don't you feel bad? We should have stopped earlier.'  I told her if it got up there it got down.  Plus the window above the porch roof was open. Wink [;)]

She worries about animals too much.

Last night we opened the windows as it was nice and cool.  Listened to the night sounds as we fell asleep.  Was very calming and peaceful.  Woke up this morning to Susan having an allergy attack and asthma attack.  She loves to fall asleep to the night sounds (crickets, frogs, and owls), but she is allergic to everything...

Morning everyone,

Woke up late today. Felt good considering I woke up at 6am the past 4 days. I feel more energized than those few days.

I'm patiently (yea, right!) waiting for my Ferrari shirt and racing hat to arrive. I don't know when it is supposed to arrive, but I'll be waiting. I've also decided that I'm going to buy a projector with the money that I have earned working.

Chief, RE: Fife: Does his property have trees? If so, I am a master at tree climbing........but with my luck they are probably hemlocks, which aren't good for climbing except if you are a squirrel.Wink [;)] BTW, what roadname did you get the Atlas diesels in? If I continue to average $46.30 per round of golf, I will have a little more extra money lying around, if I don't go for the Legacy and the CSX Doublestack SD40-2 Legacy set.
