Yes I had a IT assistant posistion that lasted about 6 weeks 2 weeks longer than the contract was for I mostly accepted that job to"try" out and sharpen my computer skills as a learning experience and some extra change in my pocket. This microfilm job is more permanet and I will switch from 5 4 hour days to 3 8 hour days a week this way I will have 2 days in the week to take care of business and have a weekend as well. This is a far cry from 40+ hours(10 to 12hours a day in the week and 8 to 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday at XEROX. The important thing is that I like the job and I am not stressing out on a daily basis over the job
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s again. We won the first round last night 4-2. It was a hard fought game and we played very well. The other team only scored on set plays, once on a kickoff(!) and once on a penalty kick late in the game. Each team only had 12 players and our sub had some bad ankles so I wound up playing about 40 minutes. I was part of a nice "1-2" play that set up one of the scores so it was a good evening for me as well. We play again tonight for the chance to play in the championship game next Wednesday.
Just the regular fare on the dining car this morning for "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 59 degrees. Going up to 78, today, with a chance of rain, later this afternoon. Need some sunshine.
Today, I am driving up to Cambridge, to do the weekly grocery shopping. This is one job that is no fun. Gas prices have stayed around 3 dollars a gallon. Food prices have gone up too, probably for the same reason.
No time for trains today. Maybe tomorrow. I need to start putting ballast on th new upper level. I don't know whether to put ballast on the blue bridge or not. Have to think about that.
Sure is quiet on the Coffee Pot lately. Wonder why ??
Dining Car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Ooops. Furniture delivery is here.

Good morning from a coolish Chicago where I read all about the Lionel-MTH lawsuit(s) in the Chicago Tribune. Nice summary - the paper notes this has been going on longer than it took to build the transcontinental railroad, along with the usual quotes about the hobby dying off. I think you can read this if you wish: http://www.chicagotribune.com/services/newspaper/premium/printedition/Tuesday/chi-toytrains_tuejul24,0,5382196.story

JIM F - Yep - the corn did stand back up - well most of it. Pulled about 5 dozen ears yesterday. Froze about 4 doz. for my Mom and gave another dozen to my 91 yr old neighbor.
Another 0.5 in of rain over night. Clody and more predicted for today.
Is Jim A on permanent vacation?

My spouse and me have been enjoying some of Master Gardener Lisa's fresh Corn[on cob w/butter and salt], her tomatos and soon Barbara will fix my favorite, fried squash. Cucumbers and Onions soaked in vinegar with ample pepper is my appetizer.
Don't get no better but trip to Dentist Friday for more bone grafts will put a stop to my feasting. Back to apple sauce, soup and ice cream.
Hey Jim....Welcome back. Did you enjoy your vacation?? Tell all.

Dewey, That sounds like mighty fine eating to me. I've had everything but the appetizer, my wife doesn't like Cucumbers so I don't grow them anymore. I also like tomatos in vinegar & pepper. Good like on Friday.
Take care,

Even finer is Dewey's homemade STRAWBERRY or PEACH ice cream!!
Dewey - will be thinking of you on Friday and Barbara next week! Call me if you need anything!
Evening everyone,
It rained here a little. I just got back from looking at wall units for my room. I'm putting cable in my room soon, and I've finally decided to buy a 42'' LCD Flat panel TV. 2 HDMI inputs, 2 Colorstream HD inputs, audio out, PC interface, and a regular input.
Oh, I forgot to add yesterday that I am a big fan of Maserati as well.......especially the MC12.
Good Evening To All,
WE were blessed with about 15 mins. of rain this afternoon. Won't help but can't hurt. Only one page for the day means coffee is old by now. Maybe others had trouble logging on and gave up. Unless plans change I'll be at the train store most of Fri. and see the conv. on sat.I'll let you know how things go if anyone is interested. I'll wait till 10 then turn out the lite.
Sir james
Morning all!
Received 'media cabinet' 6'w x 2' hi w/ 3-glass doors for stereo, and DVD storage, and will hold up our #275 TV. Finally moving stereo out of microwave cabinet, and have adult furniture. One day my wife came home and said...OK lets go...we're going to buy a stereo cabinet and new coffee table. Took most of the day to re-install stereo equipment w/ 6-mo and 2-yo factor added in, and the 'help cleaning'. I am anxious to see just what windex does to carpet; was able to provide intervention for the new coffee table.
We had quite a bit of rain yesterday. Off and on most of the day, with afternoon showers for a few hours. Tour de Kurt & kids rained out. Backyard 'adventure' through 'jungle' (hosta gardens) and picnic in treehouse rained out.
Trip to Chinese grocery today...we're out of everything. Hopefully outdoor adventures today! Sorry about the rambling.
Morning all
Southern border secure.
Nice day yesterday. Got my friend's grass cut, about 3 hrs. worth this time, as it needed trimmed too.
Grandkids stayed again last night, mom had to work late. Always fun with them. Played ball, watered flowers, and trying to teach them how to weed the garden. Please keep my daughter Sarah, the kids mom, in your prayers as she is having some real struggles lately.
That tip from Laz last week on the Polar Express must of been well received. Got a emal said delivery set for 8/23. Oh well, not like it is going to be a birthday present.
Need to run, going to fuel up the truck, 36 gal. of diesel fuel at $2.89 a gal!!!!
May God bless
It is rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s today. We lost in a shootout last night. I missed an opportunity to score in the first half and it cost us the game. I am on the road to Fort Wayne today and will be back tomorrow late. There are bran muffins on the dining car to "Points East" this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
It is a cloudy 62 degrees. Going up to 78, today, with some sunshine, hopefully.
Today, I have a few things to do around the house. I am going to take it easy. I may run trains later. Working on some ideas for bad weather projects. Have a new item coming from a friend next week. I will take some pictures of it. Should look nice on the layout.
Dining car is here from " points west". Time for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
68 and a bit humid today. Only did a real easy 2miler. Met up with neighbor who started running a few weeks ago and jogged with him and had a nice talk. GOLF against brother later today, if no rain? Speaking of which, I hadn't cut grass in 5 weeks. Yea me.
Had beans, grape tomatoes and a kolhrobi from yarden. Tasty.
Wife and I are going to STRAUSSBURG, tomorrow. Looking forward to it and taking a train ride.
Happy FRIDAY EVE!
