lol true i have to say thank you to everyone here for all the advice, help and anything in between. without you all i prolly would have given up.

I did buy the truck its an older truck but i wont have to smog it, i own it, (no payments) and the engine and tranny are only 7,800 miles old. thats why i bought it over some others i  seen. i had a small budget to fingd the best available and reasonable truck $2000.00 was the limit. since the truck is mainly for hauling trash and hauling trains, lol.

 Cruisin

its a 1975 chevy custom 20 2wd 350 auto with 2 bl carb with a rv cam.  It has a 1 bad brake cylinder witch we be fixed this weekend, i think. i got it at a discount. the guy wanted 3300 but i talked him down to 900......reason being i got it so cheap is i know him for 1 i put a motor in a chevelle for him...and two he needs a motor put in a truck hes building...he does body not mechanical work. works out for both of us....truck has hooker headers and some glas packs, so its got a little rumble in the jungle!

Thanks for the info guys - I did a quick check on travelocity at work just randomly picking 10/5 to 10/8 as dates and it was like $290 to $320 for 2 way ticket to either one.  I wouldn't want to fly American as I have friends who had to use them for work and have lots of horror stories of the planes pulling away from the boarding walkway on time and then sitting for 2 hours before being grounded due to mechanical problems etc.  My wife and kids got back finally (I70 is apparently under contruction from Concordia to Boone County so it was about a 7 hour drive versus 5!  I need to start working on this now for next year.Whistling [:-^]  I think this would be great, but I figure I need to budget about $500 for the trip etc and probably another $500 or more for gotta have treasures!  Then there will be the doctor bills after I get back and the credit card receipts show up!!!Wink [;)]  Thanks especially for that offer Brent, very kind indeed!

Nice list Roy!  Chuck, congrats on 2000, looking forward to the next 2000 for sure.

Laz - I agree, this will be a real blast - I mostly got interested in TCA due to you guys having all that fun without me!  Need to get hold of my Division Pres or Sec'y and find out what's going on around here.  As far as I can tell, there is very little O gauge in my area, although it sounds like it's better than some other guys have it.  I do have one good store and another that's not too bad, but not much O.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Jim,  Harrisburg, HIA, is the closest, but I am sure you will find Baltimore is the cheapest to fly to.  About 1.5 hour drive to York.  York doesn't have a lot of motel/hotels.  A lot stay in the Lancaster area which is another half hour beyond York.

The Fall show is a little bigger in my opinion.

Evening all

Been out of the loop for a few days travelling with the bride.  Started in Cincinnatti for brides carpel tunnel post op visit.  All well and back to normal.  She can return to doing dishes!!!  Then went northeast to Millersburg where we picked up a table and 8 chairs made by the Amish.  Great furniture and reasonable.  Stayed at a nice B&B then travelled around on backroads.  Beautiful area.  Stopped at a place in Dover Ohio called the Warther Carvings and Gardens.  This guy was a master carver and carved BEAUTIFUL trains in mahogany, ebony and ivory.  Incredible detail, the pictures do not do them justice.  Here is the site http://www.warthers.com/carvings.htm.

A real rivet counter.

Roy - great definations

Everyone down south - great news with the rain.

Zeke- Congrats on selling the Saab,

Chuck - Congrats on the posting milestone

Need to do some studying before bed

God bless

Afternoon.......

Just finished cutting the front grass and the hill. Then, I cut the other side of the drive. Then, I trimmed with my new Stihl wacker. Pretty nice. And light too. Now I am taking it easy the rest of the day. About 92 degrees now. House is nice and cool.

Roy.......Love your translation list.

Jim......Tell Chief about me being the " quietest guy on the Forum ".  That ought to get a good response.

Well, be back later.

I didn't realize that members of that tribe were allowed to leave the reservation, I could have sworn that they had to stay within the confines of Capital Hill. Except of course when they are out fleecing the public or looking for corporate support. Angry [:(!]

Jaabat,

I asked the Indians closest to the West Palm Beach and Miami areas, anyway they say that a rain dance performed outside of a local area by more than 150 miles doesn't affect the intended area, also need to have medicine man from local Florida tribe.  Cheif down here say you smoke too much on piece pipeTongue [:P] and watch too much HollywoodBlack Eye [B)] movies!!!!

Not gonna worry about any rain coming from your area Jaabat as it seems that you have flown the coup!!

Thank you Jaabat, anyway the local tribes of Seminal & Tequasta Indians have not heard of a naked rain dance or hurricane dance. Is that a northern Indian Tribal dance?  P.S. You are the Jive Turkey that asked for a bribe or to be paid!!

Getting some much needed rain here in south Florida and I didn't have to send jaabat anything to get the rain either, sorry no money Jimbo!  Just hope that I can stay dry!   Also we might get a let-up in water restrictions usage if we get enuff rain, currently can only water my lawn once a week on sunday from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, also outdoor burning ban lifted yesterday-which means no outdoor trash burning!

CSXect you are talking about a city & cownty next to where I grew up in Pennsylvania, only we pronounce it a little differant than you do, Lancaster-Lanc cast ster, the Berks Cownty PA pronounciation.

A lot of American city names came from Europe or Russia or are Indian names, maybe not all but a lot are that way.

Morning all; Looks like most of us yanks will be hot today. Received a copy of the MTH club letter and it has 21/2 pages of corrections for their Vol 2 catalog. Makes me wonder what is going on there. Got an old "new in box"Lionel  frt. car from ebay last nite. I thought someone would bid last minute but no, so now it's mine. It's a nice car, good price but I did not need it,you know how that goes, just had to bid.  Mi. Jim
