Colin,

I read on a Gamespot forum that most people were not happy with the demo, but they found the full version of the game to be much better.  I'll let you know.  I played a demo of GRAW 2 at Wal Mart, and I was really impressed.

How appropriate that on the Chief's birthday, the Bass Pro Shops car wins the race at the Monster Mile.

88 - thanks for the helping hand offer.  I actually built the wall separating the layout room from my laundry area, as well as 3/4 of the new benchwork in 6 hours today.  You just be ready for the Golden Spike beerfest when the trackwork is complete.

Jim Trumpie,

I went to college in Pittsburgh and dated a girl from Washington, PA.  Her parents lived right on the golf course.  Still have some friends up that way, but have not been there in many years.

Chief, hope that your special day was great.

Colin, good luck on the exams.  Miss you checking in, but please let us know how it goes when you are done.

It is absolutely beautiful here as the sun sets, a pink/purple sky and the battle of Midway is on the Military Channel.  Today is the anniversary.

May y'all have a great night.

Evening to All

I ran some trains tonight for the first time in a few months.  I received my Lionel 6-19704 Western Maryland Extended Vision Caboose with Smoke that I won on eBay.  I thought $23.50 including shipping was a decent price.  Man does that thing pour out the smoke.  While I was working on the layout, I set up the Gantry Crane and played with it for a while.  It sure is lots of fun.  Have to make some revisions to the layout to put in tracks for the crane to ride on.  I should be getting a K-Line Western Maryland Gondola with crates some time this week.  Put a bid on it a few days ago and forgot about it until I got an e-mail that I had won it.

Take care,

Mitch

Well, here is how it went.  Pond looks great [at 10:30 AM], picked up laptop carry bag [nice one], dropped off two payments at stores [Macy's and Belks] for wife, ate a great mongolian stirfry with Oldest, sat through long County Comm. meeting, rushed home to steak kabobs wife cooked and rushed to Town Board meeting.  Got home at 10:45.  Birthday shot.  Did get to run trains 15 minutes before I left the house this AM.  May have to go to Dr.  Left shoulder has sudden sharp pains like knife being stuck in.  Had same several years ago with right shoulder.  That was shortly before I had the "all joints" lock up believed to be from tick bites.  Well, had a bunch this year.  Actually hit Sat night when I went to type on computer.  Sharp pain.  Getting worse and more often.  Seems worse when I am on desktop [not laptop].  Could be I am allergic to fife or maybe [this sounds more like it], Buckeye sticking pins in Chief doll. Shock [:O]

Past popcorn time.  Got to go get my "fix".  Good night.

PS: Fortner, what is all that #^~* junk hung behind your name in that email?  Couldn't reply as digitally signed.

Chief - dunno, please forward it to me at jwf123@charter.net, okay?  I just now finally got online at home.  I sent that email from work, so I guess it was work security stuff?  I can resend if you want and have my computer guy send it out clean I guess?  Or just send it from home?  They recently upped our security like crazy again at work.  I think the paranoids have taken control.  Our emails have some kind of electronic signatures and also default to being encrypted.  I turned off the encryption, since I wasn't putting anything but personal fun stuff in it, but bet I left the signature on.  Sorry.

Hope you liked the pics.  Did you get them?  If not, I'll resend from home.  As you can tell, John and I eat our grits regularly, while his Father in Law and my friend Dave do not Wink [;)]  John will turn 30 this Summer and need to figure out something good for his birthday.  I told him that at 44 this year, I'm really old enough to be his dad.  So, then he wanted his backdated allowance!

Happy real birthday - man, somebody spread the word on Saturday and you got 3 days worth of good wishes -- hope they are working right now Big Smile [:D]Evil [}:)]Whistling [:-^]

Mowed the lawn, then came in and the laptop was messed up.  Norton was renewed in January and I have had to reinstall it like 10 times.  Well, it said to activate again, so I tried.  Errors.  Website says we are active, but computer says expired and turned off all protection.  So I bottom blew that mess and just installed the security stuff from Charter.  Norton will never see a single dime of my money ever again.

Roy - great post on the 1002nd use for grits - that one got a lot of laughs at the office (I can read CTT website at work, but not post).

Colin - good luck on the exams!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good morning from New England.

Not a heck of a lot going on as the wife was home last night. John and I did run trains (HO) for a while in the living room.

I bought some lunber on the way home last night to build shelves with. I'm tired of crawling under the layout looking for rolling stock!

Have a nice day all. Even you, Chief!

Good morning all,

It is another beautiful sunny day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s.  It was a long day yesterday as I went in at my normal time, took a half hour lunch, worked 'til 5, grabbed some supper, went to a class for two hours, and made it home around 9 PM.  Whew!  I am glad I have only two weeks of this, but I do get Fridays off as a result.  I saw a double-headed CSX train westbound thru downtown Indy this AM so that got the day off to a good start.  Just the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

PS.  Good to hear from Tmcc-man!

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a partly cloudy 60 degrees. Going up to 70 today. A little cooler. May get some rain later. Ground is still dry.

Today,  I am just relaxing. I have the normal chores to do and then I will take some time for myself. Mowed the back grass yesterday. Didn't grow too much with all the dry sunny days. Watering the garden every night. Doing pretty good.

Well, Dining Car is here. Time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

WOW - 11 days and counting... only 2 more days till we are down to single digits! Shock [:O]

Colin - best o' luck on the exams!

Chief - glad to hear your pond is clearing up... glad to hear the grits filtration solution worked...

Buckeye - use 1010 for grits - water filtration

Mitch - nice EBay grabs!  I stopped by the LHS last week to make a payment on the MTH Firehouse and ended up walking out with a Western Maryland GP-7!  My first smoking Diesel Engine!  So now the first RR project is going to be the elevated track... Smile [:)]

Fife - do you think it would be possible to add a smoke unit to the C&O switcher? Mischief [:-,]

zeke,

$225 is outrageous!  I'd avoid that guy.  For that kind of money, you could upgrade the loco to PS2 (it would cost more to have a shop do it) and have about $45 left over.  You could try contacting Mitzell's in Denver.  They have a good rep.

Colin,

Bought the 360, love it.  Let me know when you are done with your finals.  I know how important/stressfulthey can be, don't want to interfere with your studying.

Here is photo of the house fires I told you all about.  One house set the other on on fire.  Damaged the ones next to them.  Later

Chief, glad no one was injured.  Sad when folks build houses so close together, another reason for living more in the country.  Have a friend that I used to work with on the FD had an aneurysm and is in a coma.Sad [:(]  Light schedule today, have only to help on one case and then I am off.  Plan on hitting the gym for a few reps and then, time to get the tractor out.  Rain has brought lots of growth with it.  HOpe to get some train time in this afternoon.  I have to run lines to strips and power up the main lines.

God Bless,

Dennis

Morning all. Chief, sounds like your day went by mighty fast. I had a problem with joint pain had the Dr. change my cholesterol medic. that helped a lot for me and I am not telling you to do that but in my case it helped, even gave me what they call a frozen shoulder. Cloudy and cool today so I just might have to stay in and play choo-choo. I'm thinking old here, you my not be on that type of  medic.

Thanks JB for the JD. Laugh [(-D]

Pond looks great after all the worry.  "Thinned" out [less turbidity for Buckeye] and turned brown.  That is what I wanted for three years but not such a shock.  Actually the Good Lord took care of it.  The hot dry days let it do its thing and not die out quick and cause fish kill.  Then when it was ready, he sent the rain.  Walked the sewer line for over a mile.  Hot, ticks and deer flies.  Got to run.  Lunch time.

Good morning or afternoon all!

Looks like the rain has finally ended here. 90's for the rest of the week and sunny. Gonna be extremely humid too with all the moisture in the ground. Mosquitos are on the prowl! Can't open the door with out a few of them getting inside. Ouch!

Hope your day is a good one!
