Brent - how many days, 12?  Zeke - great scores man, you need to start working on the uncle, maybe he doesn't want that stuff anymore?  You could clean it up and get it working for him, you know? Wink [;)]  Sounds like a great deal at that train show.

Upgraded our cell phones last night at best buy, but they could't do the contract, just the phones.  So I stopped at the Cingular store today to update and upgrade the contract.  The girl was really a jerk because we didn't buy the phones from her.  Finally got everything updated/upgraded by calling the Cingular help desk while she was telling me she couldn't do this and that and having the guy there tell her she was w-r-o-n-g and how to do it.  Suddenly stuff worked.  Quell suprise!  Then I came home and logged into their website and double checked everything.  You guessed it - she only updated one phone, the other one was still on the old plan.  Had to call and have the help desk fix it, which I double checked later.  Banged Head [banghead]  Everything is finally right, so printed out.

Sirjames, RT and everybody else, you guys take it easy - sorry, too much to keep up with here most days for me, and I forget to comment on stuff, but I do read everything.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

First off, Chief, Happy Birthday!  May you be blessed with many more.  Good to call you FRIEND.

Dr. John, great news on your bride.  When they do the EP study, they will do a "mapping" in which they check impulse triggers all across the myocardial tissue.  It may take some time, depending on the methods, but, when complete, they should know for sure and make a informed decision regarding the Defib.  Sure has come a long way, we used to do these on the heart lung machine and then do a procedure where we would Cryo-ablate the ventricles.  It took several hours, and now, they do it all through a small cath.

Well, we had rain just about the whole day.  Not really heavy, but steady and I think it did a world of good.  I think the trees like it.  I thought I heard them all give a sigh of relief as the water started to soak in.

Zeke, seems like some blessings have come your way.  Before you know it, you will be looking for more room to store all your trains.  Just make sure you stay on top of cleaning and lube and they will give you years of enjoyment.

Hope everyone has a great night.

Dennis

Zeke, I am sure that engine can be fixed.  You still got  a good deal.

Well, I am getting ready to do a case this morning.  I enjoy what I do, but really miss when I can't go to Church.  I need the church charge to get me through the week.  Anyway, hope y'all have a great day.  The smoke seems to have cleared with the rain.  Hopefully the firefighters will get a jump on the fires and get them out.

God Bless,

Dennis

1320 here in a sunny, warm 23degC. Stockport.

Chief.

If you light all the candles on the cake? Will it set the fire alarm off?

Jim, tried 060 on Nicks 36" Fastrack ran OK, the coupler didn't appear to be very tight. Thanks any way.

Greg, I have high blood pressure, my Vet. calls it Hypertension, stopped the drugs, made me poorly. Gout affects 1in4 of the western male population, caused by a genetic defect in the kidney making it unable to efficiently deal with uric acid, again drugs worse than complaint, now exercise dietry control and am largely clear of problems. I know this, I am growing old disgracefully, nodded off in DIY store other day, the sight of all that work in one place sure tired me out. Her indoors wan't happy-tough!

CTT arrived Thursday.

Doug, our 0 gauge is 7mm=foot same as Lionel track 36mm. power is usually 12vDC with DCC becoming popular. The price of UK 0 gauge is frightening with a small 060 settiing you back around 1400 bucks.

Lion----, Butterly is about 50 miles from here in quite a nice area, or at least it was 30 odd years ago.

Went to the Ilkley meet yesterday, met some interesting and pleasant people, came away a lot wiser. I didn't realise how noisy Lionel and his friends can be.

First Off --

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIEF !

AND THANKS FOR THIS THREAD !!!

Brent - Have you got your revolving account at Lowes, Home Depot, and OSH yet?  Its getting closer and your going to need them.  BTW, train activity.... Proabably not for 12 to 18 months, will be too many other tasks coming up!  And you will enjoy them too.

Chuck and John - I can't watch the race today, don't leave out JR.  I don't expect much from him this year, maybe next year but that may be overly optimistic.  My second choice is Tony, he has some personality.  Necessary in the cookie cutter cars on the cookie cutter tracks.  I long for the "old" days.

John F - Hope you have been "good" this weekend, home alone, with all the train activity going on?????  That car show down at York, sure would have been tempting.

So far been an interesting weekend....  Found another issue to take on with the School Board, and High School, tried bouncing a cash register yesterday morning BEFORE our show opened.  Found a new great steak house last night.  Today going to try and get to BIG TRAIN(s) Train Show this am, and work the computer show in the pm.

Going to do a FINAL layout review this week, and then start BENCHWORK.   Yahoo !!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Got a big rain here again this morning while on the way to early church. Might hit 80 today?

Happy pre-birthday Chief! Happy B-Day [bday] Tomorrow's the big day in Rosyville?

Daughter off on Church Choir tour today. They are going to San Antonio. Fiesta Texas is on the agenda.

The Ms. and I are going to try to go to Pirates of the Carribbean today

Hope all have a great day today!

12 days and counting...

Been packing all weekend... tired...

Got call from FiL last night, his lawn tractor 'blew up'.  So we are over at his place this morning... went to Sears to look at tractors... fun time... he ordered his new 20HP, will be here on Wednesday...

Jon - had to buy a paint sprayer for the compressor.  Wife wants the shutters and front door painted black, will probably do that Monday after the move.  While at Sears we found the gas grill (our anniversary gift to one another) and the new weed eater I've been eyeing... 4 cycle engine 54" shaft!  Little projects are adding up... she'll be happy once they get started!

Gotta get the trains running before 12 months, her friend is coming over from England with her daughter and she loves trains, so have to have them running before then!  Looks like another Frank layout thread!  LOL!

Good afternoon guys,

Going to hold my happy birthday for the Chief until the big day tomorrow.

Nice to see pictures of our English brethern.  I assume Nick is the tall one. Big Smile [:D]  John and I appear to be built pretty much the same. Smile [:)]

At the show yesterday I ran across a vender called Model Stone Works.  They make model stone arch bridges, great looking products.  Wish I had a place to use one.  Anyone planning a layout (Brent) may want to take a look at them.  Although they are designated for HO the owner told me that he sells quite a few to O gaugers.  Since they are modeled on PRR prototypes, and since the PRR used very large stone blocks, they look pretty good in O gauge for any other prototype.  He said you can run double track O gauge on the four track HO bridge and single or double track on the 2 track HO bridges.  Here are a couple of pics I took of his display.

I'll also hold off on my Birthday wishes for the Chief until tomorrow, it's always nice to be recognized on your special day.

John--thanks for the pics, those stone arch bridges are wonderful.

It's raining again, we have broken all kinds of records this year with the precip, I wish we could move it east and south. The last time we had this much rain was 1903.

Ran lots of trains last night, sure felt good to do that again and have the time to enjoy it.

HI GIZ,

Happy B-Day [bday]CHIEF, wish you many more.

RT thats my boy.

ZEKE nice find at the yard sale.

JELECTRIC, you were right with all the boxes at BARRYs TRAIN SHOP.  BARRY told me he has to go back down to KY, and get about 2 and a half more vans of stuff.  Lots more engines and rolling stock.

SPEAKING of BARRYs, I scored big yesterday got a uncataloged K-LINE ERIE F3 ABA, both A units powered by two motors ,and the ABA all have smoke units plus a set of 5 PULLMAN HEAVEYWEIGHTS, they are all lite and have people in them, a list value ofver $1000 all for $422 out the door.  He bought up 31 of these sets and had them listed on his mailing list on Thursday.  I got the 30th set there is only 1 more there.  It is a beauty and ran them last nite for my brother and friend.  We ran trains for about 2 hrs, only one minor pile up, friends first time on TMCC.  Got him hooked though and sold him my other TMCC set.  He also bought the K-LINE GP38 BARRY had there all TMCC and smoke and 2 motors he was selling them for $195.  GREAT DEALS AT BARRYs.

2 and a half days left o school.

BIG TRAIN STORY on the SOPRANOs tonite the title of the show tonite is "The BLUE COMET".

By the way all 3 pics taken from the same corner it was the worst corner. in the first pic you can see the mold that I washed with bleach water what you acually see is the stain from it after drying for about a month painted back of boards and then put them up in the room and then painted them today. Looking real good so far.

NICE work RT.

Heres my find and BARRYs TRAIN SHOP yesterday

Its a K-LINE uncataloged EIRE F3 ABA dual motors in each A unit, all units have smoke and 5 Heavy Weights all for the unheard of price of $422 out the door.  He had 31 sets as of Thursday and I got number 30.  I was lucky.

Laz, A guy bought one of those Erie sets when I was in Thrursday.  Funny part was that his wife was with him and she kept urging him to buy more.  He better hang onto her! Smile [:)]  Those sets sure were nice, no doubt about it.  I'll have to ask Mike to let me know when the next batch arrives, so I get the inside track.Big Smile [:D]  I normally stop in once a week but hadn't been in for a couple of weeks so it was just luck.

I didn't buy any as I have a self imposed rule about only buying 5 road names for engines and cabooses.  Also don't buy anything of a prototype newer than 1959.  This helps me to not spend quite all my money on trains.
