Doug, have a safe trip.  If I was not on call, it would have been great to catch up with you and the family.  Savannah and the area is one of our favorite places.

Sad to say, but RFD-TV doesn't have "I Love Toy Trains" on anymore.  I emailed them and they said that perhaps if they come up with more programs, they may put it back on next season.  Oh Well.

It is smokie here....again.  I will be going in a bit later, watching the kids for the time being.  Hopefully it will rain over the weekend as we really need it. 

For those with HBO, the Soprano's episode on 3 June will have scenes from Trainworld's Long Island store.  We don't have HBO, so we will have to see it on one of the stations when the kids are grown.  Perhaps Lionel should come out with the Soprano's Train.  They could use some of the K-Line war train items...a machine gun car, etc. with the Badda Bing Station, Sleeping with the Fishes Aquarium car, and perhaps the 44 magnum (I mean Ton) locomotive.  

Well, it is Friday and after some late work, I hope to get some track time in today.  Have to get the trains running and the room straightened up so I can store some of my purchases.

Good Morning from a still wet Iowa where we can't shut the rain off.  Flash flood warning are in effect just south of us and we just dodged an early morning storm.  Wed. night we had 1.6 of rain in a very short time, our ground is totally saturated.

Last week I had the privilege of visiting the Freedom Rock, it's about 25 miles west of us so there's no excuse for not going.  Every year a young man, Bubba, paints the rock white and then paints scenes of Vets.  There's only one word to describe it, awesome.  It takes him about 3 weeks to complete the project and he receives no money for his efforts.  I was able to watch him work 3 days last week (in between storms) and also visit with several Vets who would stop, kind of emotional at times, especially when parents of fallen heroe's would stop by.

I know I'm late with this post but it's never to late to say thanks to the Vets.  I have many pics of the project but this is my favorite.  The front completed.

         I have an EGR problem with my car too.  I always get code PO400 EGR Flow Malfunction.  Too lazy to change valve, I just erase the code.

Same code as mine.  Not valve but tube stopped up.  Dwight was suppose to clean it out or check it anyway when he installed valve.  Guess what?  That was what was wrong.  Tube to intake was plugged up with carbon.  Bet we don't get a light anymore.

Wonder why?  Guess she will be busy next year if several of us QUIT.  My partner Joe does the NORTH and wanted CA.  Joe is a little upset.  He is a great guy.  Doing well on the Walleye Trail.  Hope he gets a major sponsor.  If so, he will be gone from do a lot of the events.  I got Phoenix.  Should get Prattsville and LA.  Asked for northern ID this fall [go see Pigseye Tim].  

Still hot and dry.  Watering today.  Think I will do some layout expansion.  Got plywood to do the "shelves" under layout in the back room for rolling stock storage.

You may want to rethink that... you could be doing some damage to your engine.  The EGR Flow Valve is rather important on today's vehicles... my wife had to have her's replaced on her Toyota Solara, before she did that the car ran like it was misfiring and had limited to no response.

Chief, I'm not going to trash our good buddy from Massachusetts.   How can you even say anything like that after all the great things he has done for you this last year.   He built your bench work, put down the track, repaired your engines and made you customized tunnel portals.

Thanks for the invitation!  This weekend is out for me too.  Maybe June 16?  We can work out the details.  I've not been the the garden tour sounds neat.

Zeke- On my diesel truck, that is fuel injected if I run completly out of fuel and air gets in the lines after fueling up, you sometimes have to bleed the air out at the injector, you may have a fuel rail.  Also suspect dirt, esp. if the car has been sitting for a while.

Doug- Be safe traveling.  Hopefully your teens will be cooperative.

Pretty good deals, I thought.  Most stuff is 1990 and later.  I was tempted by a CNJ Trainmaster but after checking found it had a pullmore motor, so it must be early 90s.  Everything is in new shiny boxes, must have been stored well, not faded from display.  T shirts are very nice.  Logo like Barry's name cards.  Saw a welding car from a few years ago.  Since I have one I didn't buy it but these don't come up to often.

BTW to those who are car nuts, the National Street Rod Show is in York this weekend.  I don't go to the show but you see the cars all over.  Check out this video is interested.

Back from Boulder CO. Did get a chance to stop at Mizell's Trains and talked to Warren Mizell for about an hour. Bought a magazine and some trinkets.

Tired - flight was late and was supposed to be full, but I ended up with a row (3 seats) to myself . Better than a big chair up front (which was full).

Hope Doug has a safe trip although I wonder how he drives holding that drivers window up???

 Nick - looks like you have been able to keep the "D" in great shape! The joke here some years ago if all recall Delorean's demise and subsequent legal entanglements - why were Delorean's banned from the highway's - they kept sniffing up the white lines!

         That problem has been there since we bought the car in 2001 when it had about 45,000 miles on it.  Ford didn't want to change the EGR valve, and nobody wants to try it now.  Have to take headers down to get to it (97 Probe GT).  It has Mazda's KLDE 2.5L V6 in it. It is still running great with 186,670 miles on it, so I am not overly concerned.

Jefelectric, it's a good thing I don't have any close train stores like you guys have or I'd be broke.  Closest one is 1/2 hour and has only a couple aisles of trains total with maybe 1/2 aisle of O gauge.  There's a better one in Kirkwood, but I don't get over there much and they are mostly HO and N gauge.

Nick - Is your Delorean powered by Mr. Fusion?  Does it have a Flux Capacitor?  Enquiring minds want to know!

Evening [almost morning].  Been reclinerizing.  St. Louis?  Yes.  Several times.  Well, airport and across the river to St. Charles.  BPS in in shopping center to the right of interstate and turn left off of a main street.  Stayed at the extended stay back across the river in industrial park.  Great wings place in sports bar in shopping center where BPS is.  Sorriest pizza is in a strip mall near the motel in industrial park.  Called it St. Louis style.  No outer crust so topping just slid off and it was square too.

Nissan is fixed.  57 miles and no light.  Off to the inspection garage up the street in Roseyville tomorrow morning first thing.  Pond looking good too.  Watered all afternoon.  Planted more tomatoes and peppers.  Got a basket full of squash and zucc.  Got first cucumbers.

evening all.....set out to buy paint today but never made it....instead i was detoured helping this elderly woman get her car fixed...it broke down on I-5 and she was stranded in 100 deg heat and nobody had stopped..so i did...after a quick evaul and finding out nobody ahd stopped in 45 min of her breakdown.....i determined her alternator went out and so i took her and helped her get one and then i put it on for her.....she tried to offer me cash and i nicely refused...it just felt good to help someone out...dont see this much anymore...it bothers me that ppl dont stop anymore....you  see it often sadly...

 

so today was productive in a way....

 I also tried grits for the first time every and wow.....why would anyone eat that stuff...

well im bushed..heat tore me up...gonna toss back a cpl           

         and watch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 68 degrees. Ground is still wet from the rain last night. Going up to 88 today, with a chance of an afternoon shower. Grass is going to start growing again.

Today, I have a few chores to do around the yard. Better do it this morning. I may run trains for awhile, later if the weather gets bad. This is a busy month. Wife has foot surgery scheduled for the 28th, now. This is the third try. She'll be able to walk, afterwards, but with care.

Next week, is bridge painting. Hope the weather is good for it.

Dining Car is here and full. Time for breakfast.

Morning lady and gentlemen.  You too, fifeDOG.  News from Roseyville.  Two houses burned in very nice neighborhood [Villages of Rolesville] and another damaged.  After 6PM yesterday, I was watering my grapevines when the fire alarm went off and fire trucks went by.  The main entrance to the subdivision is in sight of my back fence.  Saw trucks zipping down the street.  Looked up and over the trees was this big BLACK smoke.  Per the occupants, they heard an explosion and the whole back of the house was in flame.  They bailed out.  It burned ans set the neighboring house on fire.  It burned and damaged the house nest to it.  The horses pulling the two man hand pumper were over come by heat and the chief was quoted saying that they needed bigger buckets [this was for the YANKS].  NO, Roseyville has 8 trucks [big fire dept] and neighboring towns arrived so about 25 fire trucks were on the scene.  First house was fully engulfed when the arrrived.  News tickertape on loacal channel says that a "coal train" has derailed near Smithfield NC [not far away].  My guess it is a CSX but NS crosses there too.  Smithfield is split by the dual CSX tracks that run from NY to FL.  Said no danger and no injuries.

Off to get car inspected.  Probably go to Miss Edna's after that.

Good morning everyone! Guess where I am! I just found out that the library will not be open weekends for the summah starting June 16. Ain't that a kick in the head?!

I repainted a K-Line Pacific yesterday in my driveway. Came out great! Will decal and add a real coal load to tender next.

We had our last Brownie scouts meeting of the year last night. That's overwith for a few months!

I see that the annual Red Sox swoon has begun.
