Is anyone else having difficulty with this forum today?  Doesn't seem right to me today.  When I checked the pot today, it shows that we are still on page 317, but when I clicked the thread, I saw that we are up to 319.

Just want to let everyone know that the problem seemed to be on my end. I shut the Cyber Defender safe search toolbnar off, and also ran the cache cleaner in Zone Alarm, and now the forum seems to be working correctly.

Good afternoon,

After lunch I stopped in at Barry's Train Shop for a regular visit.  Wow, boxes stacked everywhere.  Mike told me that Barry bought out someones inventory in KY.  Thay had a clipboard with typed list of the items on sale, about 6 or 7 pages.  Multiples of most items.  I was like a kid in a candy store and of course the word is out already as the store looked like the Christmas season, crowded.  I managed to get out without breaking the bank, but did pick up 4 Lionel 3-bay diecast hoppers with different road numbers for $34 each and 2 K-line diecast composite 2-bay hoppersfpr $10 each, all PRR.  Also got 2 packs of BEEPeople & a FREE T-shirt.

Dr. John, Our prayers go with you and the Mrs. on your trip to Birmingham.

Don, I saw the notice about the Ontario Show on the MTH newsletter, but thought you would not be able to go since you had said you had a show this weekend.  Hope the wife will let you sneak out a little.

Doug, Hope that you and yours have a nice vacation in the south.  Only been to Hilton Head one time and it was just a short visit.  Very nice place.

Well I am going to be spending a 3-day weekend "home alone".  The wife and DIL are heading to the Delaware Shore with a group of ladies from the DIL's church.  I am planning to make good use of my free time and Saturday will head to the PA RR Museum for Pennsylvania Days.  The Liberty High-Railers are going to have an O gauge modular layout set up and lots of other special exhibits.  Should be fun.

Take care,

Just when the smoke was getting better around here, a house up the street burned down and now it is back to heavy smoke conditions in the area.  We have a scale train exhibit that is opening this week at the local museum.  I hope to make it this weekend, but am on call and have also been recruited to help a preacher friend load up a moving van to head to Florida.  Oh well, it is here till September, so I should be able to make it over there.  I also understand that a train show will be in Pensacola next weekend, so we may make that too.

Hope y'all have a good day.  If it started with Grits and a prayer, you know it will be good.

Buckeye, actually we are hundreds of miles from the fires. The smoke is covering several states, including Alabama. It is much clearer today, though. Thanks for the good wishes!

Nope, not yet.  But I have found my two good digital cameras sitting on the kitchen table... problem is everytime I hear the whistle I'm no where near them!  Gotta get some pics of the MM rolling by from the deck... Sad [:(]

88 - You'll just have to settle for listening to CSX rumble by.  At least very photogenic Point of Rocks Station will be a short half-hour drive S/W of Mt Airy.

I don't have the answer to your question, but here is the web site.

http://www.rrmuseumpa.org/visitors/seasonal/prr/Pennsy%20Days%202007%20Flyer%20050107.pdf

A friend from the TCA Museum, Phil Ritter, is going to have a display of 'Paper'.  You will note that the Hi-Railers layout is not mentioned on the Museum site but their web site has it listed and Bill Parkinson has announced it on the OGR forum.

Zeke, we are waiting for the pictures of the mountain to comment.

jefelectric - thanks for the site, John.  Appears to be a lot of seminar/diplay items set up.  Getting a print signed by Lerro might be worth the trip.  Also, gotta love those LEGO guys.  Mrs fifedog and I checked out Lego Land while we were in Niagara Falls, and spent almost two hours in there.

Zeke - let's see the Holy Mountain, Alejandro!  Bring it on!

Fife - Don't get me started on LEGO's!  I've got about $1000 worth of Harry Potter Lego sets with the train and all in boxes in the basement.  Now I got an email, they are putting out more sets, including a new castle section....  Man, I just don't know whether to get it or let it all go.  The problem I have is with other people's kids.  My kids and I could play with this stuff and take care, but other kids just see LEGOs and have no respect at all, they start ripping stuff up.  AND this stuff gets expensive.  Now they also have a lot more train stuff that is making me nuts as well....

Hand getting better and better, just little twinges today.  John, thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers.  Cool in St. Louis, only up to 80 and storms every day.  Laz, we spotted your bear in Hillsboro, a very few miles from me!

June 28 thru July 1 is the Grand Opening.

VP's SIL is going to do that one [you can guess why].

Got company and my Pizza is ready.  Nissan is fixed.  EGR valve tube [should have been cleaned out when Dwight replaced the valve] was stopped up completely.  Ran Atlas and Lionels this afternoon.  All ran good.  Later

Chief,

I have an EGR problem with my car too.  I always get code PO400 EGR Flow Malfunction.  Too lazy to change valve, I just erase the code.

For the New England Yanks, RFD-TV has a show called Trains and Locomotives.  On Saturday Morning 9am Eastern, they have a show on Steam in N.E.  Several different RRs are shown.

We had a Cabella's open, but no word from Chief on any trips to St. Louis, Don -- better get in line, man!  I used to love RFDTV, especially the Train Show and Bluegrass and Backroads.  Our cable doesn't carry it though, but we do get DIY so I can watch Norm and all the Bob Villa I can stand.  Sir James, I have some pirate stuff, but it was already oop when I got into the lego stuff.  Check out my website button below to see some of the lego stuff we have or go to http://webpages.charter.net/jwf123/Hogwart_s_Express.htm

Popcorn anyone?  Good night, John Boy.

Zeke, Try the fuel pump pick up hose. If the tanks been run dry chances are that it sucked up  muck from the bottom of the tank. Look in the pick up inlet on the pump as well. If there is muck chances are thats the proplem.

So Alabama and the rest of the south is turning into a desert. Not to worry says NASA administrator Griffen, just enjoy it.

thanks for comments on wheel cast; gonna pick up a cheap brick of solder from hardware tonight and try casting wheels from that. The RTV can take a lot of heat and already had success dripping solder in the mold, but it cools too quick and makes splatters. I'll try a steel chalaise and heat it with my torch and then quickly pour

Good morning all,

It is hot and sunny again today in SE Indiana with temps in the high 80s.  We got a brief shower last night, but it only settled the dust.  I practiced socccer with the high school kids last night, and I am tired today.  Just the regular fare on the dining car for "Points East".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a humid , but sunny 68 degrees. Going up to a hot 90, again today. We had a few thunderstorms yesterday afternoon, for about an hour. Not much rain soaked in.

Today, I have a few projects around the house to work on. Then I plan on taking it easy, the rest of the day. I have to buy the paint for the steel bridge, yet. Also, some primer. I probably will start painting it next week. Outside.

Well, Dining Car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Good morning from a foggy and humid Crystal Lake where I am ready to try to pack up the minivan with 4 kids and the bride and all their gear without using the clamshell top. I hate the thing: it's like driving with a barn on the roof. Wish me luck. I hope to be in Knoxville this evening via. Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington. Then Asheville, Columbia, Hilton Head tomorrow...

Jim F., we have tons of Lego kits. I made the crucial mistake of sorting it all together in giant plastic bins -- now one cannot find anything to put together the right arrangements out of thousands of the little bits... Nothing more painful than unexpectedly stepping on an errant Lego. Hope your hand continues to heal.

Nick, do you really have a DeLorean? A fellow here just opened a shop servicing only those cars.z

See you all in a week. May you be safe.
