Morning y'all,  we actually had RAIN!  just enough to make the dog mad, but it did put the smoke down a little in that visibility is up to 1.5 miles.  I would tell the NE yank that they have a good show on NE railroads in steam on RFD-TV, but since he is posting and the library is closed, that means he is at work and not at home.  Is a great show, even if they are NH, VT, and MEC railroads.  They even had a break down train working a wreck.  Was neat to see.

Was supposed to do a case today, but had to switch to tomorrow.  I hate having to miss church.  Anyway, some friends of the family are taking a pastor's position in Florida, so I will be helping load the moving truck.  Hope I don't break my back.

They are opening a model railroad exhibit at the local museum which also has several full size pieces to check out.  The exhibit goes through till September which is good as it doesn't look like I will be getting there today.  For those familiar with it, this is the same layout they had in Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport.  I am not sure if it is O or Ho, but from the photos in the paper, it has great scenery.

Hope everyone has a great day.

CHIEF - pick your poison:

WRAL has CSX with a minor coal train derailment in Smithfield...

WAVY has NS with a major derailment in Suffolk...

...either way, bad week to be on a coal drag in NC.

The good news, did you know that NORFOLK SOUTHERN turned 25 yesterday?

...and Altoona Shops just rolled out NS #4271 yesterday.

By the way, if you are close to Smithfield, have you ever been trackside at SELMA?

Morning, all! Overcast this a.m. but not as smoky. Chance of rain today - praying we get some.

Well, the visit to the cardiologist in Birmingham went well. They did a few more tests on my wife. They've ruled out any problems with the heart except the Brugata syndrome. Also said since she has never shown any symptoms thus far at her age, may not need defibrillator. To determine this, we'll go up in a couple of weeks for an EP test, much like a heart catherization. If she develops an irregular heart rythm during the test, they'll put in the defibrillator, if she does not, then she doesn't get a defibrillator and no worries. Thanks for everyone's prayers and kind words. We should know when she's scheduled for test the first part of the week. Smile [:)]

Got to clean up old '90 Caddy and put up for sale. She's running great, just needs some detailing and she'll be a great ride for someone (with the $$$!) I hate to sell her, but need the room for a layout in the garage! Wink [;)]

Good morning all!

Chief - as the mayor pro-tem of Rosyville - looks like it is about time to pass that ban on using gas BBQ grills inside one's home Wink [;)]

Dr. John - That is great news. We will keep the prayer level on "high."

Jim A - lol!

Got another great rain last night. Perfect timing. The new sod has been laid in the back yard. Looks great (compared to what it looked like before). They still need to finish the front.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Zeke, That is one of those little blue thingies.

Spent the morning at PRR days at the PA RR Museum.  They had the repainted, interior, GG1 back on display.  Took a lot of pics including interior of the E44 & GP9.  Bought a few books.  Several modular layouts on display One O gauge, 2 HO and one N.  About a dozen vendors set up in the big hall between the tracks.  Worth the trip.  Will post some pics on Sunday if I get time.

Take care,

Dr John - Good news, prayers remain on high alert as per Roy's directive.

Good buy, Zeke - it's a deisel industrial loco or switcher, I'm sure someone has all the data for you.

Chief - so, you didn't like "St. Louis Style" pizza?  Unless it was IMO's pizza, it wasn't really St. Louis PIzza.  Most places call their thin crust pizza around here St. Louis style.  I personally just like regular pizza, like Pizza Hut or a local place called Bartenolis.  IMO's is okay, but not my favorite - it's like eating a soggy cracker covered in stuff that really should taste better than this....!

Let me know next time you are at Bass Pro in St. Charles.  They might have one open here in Arnold in the recently Blighted then TIF'd area, which will be a big collection of stores and restaurants.  NOw, if you come to Arnold and don't shoot me an email, I'll have to come to your house and make you eat an entire IMO's pizza!!!!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Zeke I want to go to your yard sales thats a navy switcher nice haul for $.25 I bet it was supose to be $25.00 but some one priced it wrong .

well heres the joke of the day

The head Greenie Tree Hugging Lady Activist, who was responsible for

getting horses banned from National Parks and State Forests, was

climbing a big tree to have a look out over the forestry when a Tawny

Frogmouth Owl attacked her for invading its nesting site.

In a panic to make her escape, she slid down the tree, getting many

splinters in the crotch of her designer shorts. In considerable pain

she hurried to the nearest Doctor, told him she was an

environmentalist, and how she got all the splinters.

The Doctor listened with great patience and then told her to go into

the examining room and he would see if he could help her.

She waited for three hours before the Doctor reappeared. The angry

woman demanded: "What took you so long?"

He smiled and then told her: "Well, I had to get permits from the

Environmental Protection Agency, the Forestry Service, National Parks

and Wildlife Service, Rural Fire Service, and Conservation and Land

Management, before I could remove "Old Growth Timber" from a

recreational area... I am sorry but they turned me down."

Dr. John, she is on our prayer list.  BTW: anything from fife is not good.  Even his good luck wishes. Shock [:O]

RAIN IS ON THE WAY.  Big Smile [:D]  Will say one Yank is fair.  Had a birthday surprise when I got to Miss Edna's.  Thanks Jimbo.

Raleigh Train Fan, don't faint but your Berk is in lots of peices.  steve and Jerry are really cleaning her up.  Corrosion was bad but not too bad.  That model used smoke pills [on the lamp] that were corrosive.  They are real impressed she is not damaged.  She is in great hands.

Later.

Just got an email from my buddy Jim Young in SC and he said their water tower went empty and they are on a boil order and total watering restrictions.  Apparently they just got .4 inches of rain?!

Happy Birthday Chief!  Hope you get everything your heart desires!  Happy B-Day [bday]  I tried to order a pizza delivery while just out at dinner at Bertonolis in Arnold, but they said you are out of their delivery area.  But it's the thought that counts, right?  Seriously, have a great one!
