Why do you call Neil Young whiney?
See you in the Pimlico infield?

jaabat - his singing-style, that's all. I didn't mean it the other way; although I do tend to tune out on the green speak...
...and no, I tend to drive the other way during Preakness. Last year I was trackside at ENOLA.
Yeah where is Colin?Fife - I've never been to a horse race, would like to go to Preakness sometime, but wife says it isn't any fun in the infield. Told her we should get tickets in the grandstand - she just laughed - Mitch - - You have that problem too? It keeps the wife out of my way!Chief - Did you use the bbq sauce on the ham last weekend? I tried it last Thursday and it turned out awesome - wife stole my last ham slice for lunch yesterday and she called to say she liked it better on the ham than on chicken Buckeye and Chuck - Only in OH could two guys who have been chatting (and seen each others pic a thousand times) eat at the same eatery at the same time and not realize the other is there! Sorry to hear about Popeye - wife is going to be devastated. He was her favorite childhood cartoon character because he liked spinach and so did she.Don - Send me an email bleister88@gmail.com and I'll forward a pic from York.
Morning, all. Alas, no rain yesterday. So much for 60% chance. Oh, well. Very pleasant and cool this morning - low humidity and a mild breeze. Wish I could be outside today.
Nice to see so many folks posting on the coffee pot on a regular basis. Makes it harder for me to keep up, but I'm happy to see the participation. If I have not "spoken" to any of our newer posters, my apologies.
Morning. Got a little rain. Now loading truck to go to Frankie's to do some construction work. Load nailer, portable compressor, tools , nails and pressure washer. Then I will be tired. Got to go. Back later this evening.
fife, don't get me started. We ALL know that the only whinny and spoiled BRAT is MIKEY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

88 - pick a pretty day and go to LAUREL instead. Then you can watch the ponies and some real horsepower (CSX goes right past the track). Across from the restored Laurel B&O station on RTE 1 is an old fashioned TASTY FREEZE...good eats!
WHOA, they had to cancel the Traditional Preakness Balloon Race, due to a sudden burst of warm air from the SOUTH!!! Not kidding!
Mike C.,
I didn't realize that that was Naomi in the alley. Makes things interesting. Desmond claims to see the future, and Naomi seems to talk about what happened in the past. I liked last weeks show better. There will be a Lost special on ABC tonight.
What a relief !! On my elevated shelf I had meticously layed out the track plan using RR software. Of course the shelf width is critical, wanted it to be safe and yet as narrow as possible. Decided that 12.5 inches wide would be OK. THEN REALITY SETS IN. As it turns out the RR software builds based upon the track being 2" wide. Actually the track outside dimension is 3.5" measuring the ties. (The rails are 2" apart). So when you do the math it ends up that with a 2" space from the wall, then track 1 (3.5"), 2" space between tracks, track 2, and that leaves 1.5" to the shelf edge.
Concern of course is the 2" spacing and ONLY 1.5" to shelf edge. ITS GOING TO WORK !! The 2" clearing allows just enough space that permits all the cars and engines to pass in opposite directions without touching. Then for the edge I going to add on a small 2" metal strap, which extends from the shelf 1 1/4". Then put a vertical threaded rod through the strap extending 4" above the shelf. (Probably brass). Then will run a wire from post to post. Undecided whether I will use .032 steel wire or heavy fishing line.
But it will work, was just a little worried.
EDIT -
JUST GOT EVEN BETTER NEWS, GOT A CALL FROM TAS, THE N&W J-SERIES I PICKED UP AT YORK AND HAD UPGRADED TO PS-2 IS COMPLETE AND SHIPPING. (JUST IN TIME FOR A BIRTHDAY GIFT)

Morning all!
The City of Addison here in the Metroplex has recovered its original Cotton Belt depot that was built in early 1900's. It had been donated by the RR to a church in 1966 when passenger operations ceased. The church used it for classrooms, etc. Last night the depot was moved from the church, which expanded and did not need the space anymore, to a lot in Addison that is next to the old Cotton Belt tracks and not too far from its original location. The city predicts it will cost about $300,000 to renovate and is in the process of building a new foundation for it. Pretty cool.
Beautiful day here - high about 78! Sunny!
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Brent -
THANKS for the picture! It is a real good copy! I really appreciate it, it is going to be hung up in the train room.
Thanks again!

Roy - Maybe this is meant to be! A new home! This could be the perfect alternative to the foundation issue you were having. Could be lots of benefits.... definetly worth considering. You could even get your own rail car for accommodating your travel requirements. Your kids would probably really like living in a train depot.
A quick run by this afternoon. Got another emergency case on the table and so this afternoon's plans are nixed. I hope to catch up on the rest of the posts later. Like Chief says, where is Colin? Probably caught up in all them young ladies and trains have taken a back seat....just like most of us, gets caught up with the women, goes to college, and then gets married and kids and then he comes back to his first love.
Have a good one.

Good afternoon everyone,
Wow, there are a lot of posts to catch up on. I have been reading them for a few days now. The reason for my absence is school work. It is coming down to 2 weeks, and the teachers have decided to pile all this homework on us now, plus little quizzes and some more major tests. It was a busy week here. I did a project over the weekend that was due yesterday which turned out better than I expected it to, and I got everything else done that was needed for the other classes. I haven't been playing as much soccer as I want, but my job is in the way during the weekends, so most of the time I am really tired when I get home. But, I make great money and I am outside all day, so I'm really not complaining.
We had some thunder storms here last night. The front gutter was leaking heavily so I got the ladder out this morning like my dad asked me to. I got the muck out and then flushed it clean with the hose. So far, my work is done for the day.
I had off today because it's a holy day of obligation, and I have off tomorrow because the school gave us off. A nice long weekend, and I really need it.
I hope everyone is having a good day.

Gee, Chuck I have never seen your picture. I have only seen you in person at places like Bob Evans in Cambridge, two or three times, at my house at Roger's Corners at least a couple times and at the Berea Train Show. Please send me a photo so I can recognize you the next time you sit across the table from me at a restaurant.

Doug - how does student driver and discount on insurance end up in the same sentence?
OK.... What has started out as a fantastic day, sure has had an interesting twist to it. School Educators, Adminstrators, Doug M and Roy note:
This weekend is the Sr. Prom for Chris, so he and his Mom were going to go and pick up his Tux, after school today. As it turns out Mom had a hair appointment this AM. The appointment was rescheduled due to the hairdressers mother's care taker was going to be late, and the hairdresser had to reschedule the appointment to this PM. So.. Mom sends Chris a Text message on his cell phone. That she will be late. It vibrates in his pocket, he looks at it and the teacher says "As You Know That's A Violation". So he is sent to the Vice Principals Office. The Vice Principal says that since this is your 3rd violation (over 3 years), it is an automatic 1 day suspension.
Now he is the Stage Manager for the school play, with opening nite, tonight. So he can go for that, but not tomorrow night. (Not allowed on campus during the day of suspension.) Since the Prom is Saturday night, and in order to be allowed to go to the Prom the student MUST have attended school on the previous day.
WHAT A MESS !!

Did you have yours on backwards again? BTW, mowed grass tonight, edged sidwalk and swept up afterwards. The John Deere performed flawlessly. I would say that JD is about the only thing that the Chief and I are in complete agreement. Of course I run behind mine and he rides.
Zeke I heard it was Fred's fault there are no cabooses on the rails
They now use F.R.E.D or some call it EOT on last car in consist. Which are flashing rear end device and End of Train.
