Nice Lisa thanks for sharing That Civil just had a real bad day!
Had one of these sort of moments a few weeks back. Had a phone call from a Hospital where we had installed a 2000Ltr 316 Stainless steel tank. The gist was the tank had sunk into the plant room floor! As a bit of background, when we first looked at the job we asked about the state of the concrete floor (it did not look good, I am a "mechanical" so not a concrete expert). Our Customer asked the question as did the Hospital's own Project engineer.
The reply came back from on high that the floor was fine......I guess the guy who made that call was having a bad day
Tank stayed undamaged even though it was at a near 45 degree angle and it was full. It did a great job of showing how tough our tanks are LOL.
Have a good day all
Nick
Tanks for sharing that, Nick!
Boy, it's cold out there today! Brrrr. I went out at lunch to do a weather check and nearly froze! When is spring gonna get here?!

Hey Bluegrass, my Sunday School teacher is a former professor of Theology at a seminary up your way. It is wonderful to have such a learned person leading our class. Just about every week ends up with heavy material of scripture. Also, one of my friends went to seminary up there and then became a missionary in Africa. He is now in Texas....Interesting caracter, used to be in the SAS (our friends across the pond know of this group).
Hope everyone has a great Friday eve as tom would say.

Hey Dennis, which Seminary did he teach at up here? There are a couple around, Lexington Theological (Presbyterian), Southern Baptist (Louisville), Vanderbilt (Nashville), and of course my personal favorite Asbury Theological Seminary. There are probably some other one's that I'm forgetting.
Evenin' boys...kinda feels like I stumbled into vacation bible school here today. I suppose I could use some devine guidance lately.
On second thought...
Bakeer - Sorry to hear about your family from Cleveland.
Uncle Buckeye - that's the new Woodrow Wilson Bridge (outside DC). We're trying to make it as difficult as we can from invasion.
Laz57 - ...is it just a matter of time,S-H-A-R-O-N-A! You know you're old when you tell teens that they actually played music videos on MTV...

Oh, wow, I've been trying think of a good theme for this Summer's VBS........Trains!!!! Yes! thanks fife!!!
Gotta love engineers. I "discuss" differences of opinion with them on a frequent basis. It is interesting when the engineer says the equation says it will do this . . . and me with 30 years experience says it will not do this, it will do that, and when the dust settles, experience usually is closer to the fact.
Got the other three trees topped, it was beautiful outside today! Cleaned rails this afternoon. Wow were they dirty. Trains runs real well. I think a good indication of conductivity is watching lighted cars like passenger cars and when the light blink something is amiss. From another thread I tried something different. I used a scotchbrite and isopropral alcohol, with a wipe rag. Worked real good, minimum effort.
There appears to be several folks here who are ministers the like. Good company. I am studing to be a Deacon for the Diocese of Columbus. I've got two years completed and about a year and a half to go before ordination. The classes are at the Pontifical College Josephinum. The trains are a great means of relaxing. After a rough day at work or my brain has maxed out it's ability to absorb any more info, I tell my wife I'm going for a smoke break, and it's to the train room to run trains. Check back later,
The proper balence in the electronics field is 3 technicians to every engineer, the job of the techs are to fudge component values to "make" the engineers idea work.
M-m-m-m-m-my Sharona! It's stuck in my head too! Arrrgghghg! My daughter was fine this morning, thanks! I'm feeling pretty good too, first time in a week! I'll never share my water with some kid I don't know again - I felt bad 'cause we were on a fieldtrip and I was there with my daughter and had some other kids assigned to us. Two kids didn't bring water to drink so I shared Next time I'll just tell them it's too bad their parents don't love them like I love my daughter and let them choke on their lunches Just kidding. Next time I'll take extra bottles and not be so dumb as to drink after them. I got my copper cars and my caboose hooked up - need to clear some debris off my layout and play with it later. Off tomorrow, so might get some wiring done. Also need to pick up some wood for a project with my son.
John Baker - apparently your Channel 4 is going to have a documentary on teh Great Global Warming Swindle - do let us know if it's any good!

Years ago on a bridge in NW Indiana this came close to actually happening. I was working on an adjacent project about twenty miles away. They brought the steel beams to the site and began their preparation to be placed on the piers. In this case the bridge was on a curved exit ramp and the piers followed the curve. They lifted the first beam in place and then the cussing and swearing began. The beam was too long. Measurements were taken and it was found that the piers were not at the correct skew. All construction was halted for about three months until they could design and roll new beams. It was all a surveying error. The center of the pier was in the correct location, but when they turned the 90 degree angle to set the skew of the pier either they turned the angle incorrectly or the theodolite was not accurate.

The Chief spotted in northern Michigan. That is all.
Thanks for posting Lisa!
I have graphic designer 'friends' that laugh about this stuff! OK...if I make a mistake then its red and should have been blue....If you make a mistake...
And we both get paid the same???
Kurt
PS HEY wait a minute. Those 2-beams in the center look like they line up! Just move the other ones over. I'd blame the contractor...The drawings don't look like that. ALL the beams line up on the drawings.
Good morning from New England!
The temps the next few days are supposed to be mild. High 40's low 50's. Finally! I think I'll change the oil in my car this weekend.
My Sharona . . . Had a lot of great times in the back seat of my 76 LTD while that song played on the 8-track. I was dating a girl named Sharon at the time. I saw her recently. She didn't age well!
Jim Fortner - don't ever, ever, ever, ever drink or eat after a kid! Not even your own! They are disgusting little germ factories.
The kids and I hooked up our free HO trains last night and set a train on the tracks. Nothing. So I cleaned the rails with a bright boy and lubed the loco. It started running. Slow at first but each lap got faster and stronger. Eventually got all three units running. An F3, a steamer, and a trolley. I'm going to buy some of the new HO track with plastic roadbed this weekend.
I continued my coal dragging ways last night. Had a 2018 pulling 15 hopper cars. It did it with ease! 12 volts and it was humming right along at a pretty good clip! And it was smoking like the Chief had worked on it!!
Maybe tonight I'll take apart my PE Berk's smoke unit and tune it up.
HI GIZ,
15 and cold today might be last cold day til next winter?
TGIF.
later,
I would say that the engineer who built that put too much emphasis on the "bike" lane.
