TGIF - I'm exhausted!!!

Skipped fire drill last night went to a neighboring town for their weekly Cruise night.  One of my female friends, who actually works on her own cars (a '73 Charger SE 440) got her car fixed and a couple of guys came in to support her.  Met a few guys (one I knew from years ago...) all Mopar guys.  Was a good time, BS'ing about cars and Mopars in particular, Our little group was a 68 Charger 383,  70 Road Runner Hard Top, My convert, 69 Dart Swinger 340, 68 Cuda convert and a 2000 Viper.  With the assembled horsepower, we could've taken anything in the parking lot.....
So I have to go again next week, it's Convertible Night......oy......and then Friday I leave for Bethlehem.  The 'ol convert will be gettin a workout...

60 when I left the house this morning, up to 80 maybe and the sun is out.  Nice weather, low humidity, comes back with a vengeance on Monday.

Tomorrow is house cleaning top to bottom, and if I have time, I'll be getting the trains separated by rolling stock and clearing the area in the attic for construction while the weather is cool.  May have to get at the Hot Wheels as well.  I have found the stuff I'm keeping just need to find the stuff I'm getting rid of......lol.

Dougnotta.....This is excellent news!!  I'm glad the hernia is getting address!!!

Softball Game 3 of 3 tied 1-1, elimination game on Monday......Getting excited......hoping for another dinger.....lol!!

Back to work, check back later!!

Class A was overnighted back to me.  Surprise  Will test run it later after the crew leaves.  They did run trains this morning.  Did a good job for kids not use to it.  They learn fast.

Later.

Sun and 80s today. Maybe some rain tomorrow.

I say this every year but this time my feelings are much stronger about No York in April. It would have been nice to meet Buckeye though. After all these years I still don't think he knows I was born and raised a Buckeye.

Good evening all,

The junior high kids got pounded tonight 10-1.  That happens.  Ran into a buzzsaw after playing 5 games in 9 days.  6 in 11 days was too much.  Weather is nice.  Work very very quiet.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Banks.... I'll be at YORK. I'm looking forward to it!  Teacher retirement and healthcare are usually the best.

Mrs is a classroom assistant in a special needs classroom. Her salary is low but the healthcare is top notch. Currently our maximum annual out of pocket is $500. Too maintain her current coverage our maximum out of pocket will be $19,000. Including priemium and deductibles. Seems like a lot but I've done some shopping and with our health issues I couldn't come close. If she finishes this school year I'll be 1 year from Medicare and 2 for her.

Doug good luck with the hernia and immunology

Afternoon/Evening All.

Going to be busy for the next several days. Tomorrow will be at oncology dept learning immunotherapy +'s and -'s and what to look for as indicators of problems that will need to be addressed immediately should they arise. Monday is pre-op with surgeon who will be repairing this blankety blank hernia and the damage it has caused. Tuesday have an early check-in so they can install a port for my immunotherapy infusions starting on 9/4. Wednesday is SURGERY day. FINALLY !!!!!! Hopefully will only be in there overnight, initially was scheduled as an out-patient procedure but anistheseologist said no-way and had it transfered to the surgery center in the hospital. Gee, tried to tell them that from the start but it fell on deaf ears. Bang Head I mean all it takes is to give a serious look at my medical history.

Oh well, enuff grousing. The BetterHalf and some other hens will be heading out to play Bingo shortly so it's only me for dinner. Maybe I'll make a run to pick up some Fish-n-Chips. Dinner Guess where Shake-n-Bake.........

Later all.

RT....I have learned to make RealTrax reliable and quiet. The rubber ballast is the key to making it quiet.  Sodering wire to the underside is better than MTH track connections. Do you remember when I posted the modification for the switches? I used a small piece of plastic to increase the width of the guard rail. Has been working for now 10 years.

Chief....Thank you sir! Big Smile You will need to visit again and see the new one. It will be similiar to the old one but much longer and I might be able to get it up to three levels. I hope now to change over to Legacy control, too. My CAB-1 units are on their last legs after 18 years of use. I will also install blocks to I can have the conventionals running with the TMCCs.

Hello there,

quick check in while grilling steak and corn on the cob.

Mrs started school today. Hoping to make it through the year but any time after August 29 she can tell them to stick their job. Healthcare will be  $$$$ but finance guy says we'll be OK. Met with him again Tuesday.

Yesterday we made 17 quarts of tomato soup. Spent today farming.

Buckeye. .....is the bankruptcy and move gonna interfere with your York trip?

Roy.......looking forward to some BS time at York. Seems kinda early to put the boat away for the winter.

Chief  a lot of kids today need more reinforcement in their lives.

Best get back to grilln.

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work. Very nice weather for walk.  Did part of the practice with junior high kids.  Mowed yard.  Wife home from her visit with sister.  Some of the short auto carriers that are in volume 2 should find their way home to the layout.  Can finally do a model of the Honda plant....  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Doug,

$2.599 was the gas. The beer was $4.91 a gallon. Or $13.83 for 30 cans. Laugh Wink

Well, went to see the oncologist yesterday. Will be changing from the Votrient, which seemed to be losing it's efficacy after reducing dosage to reduce the tough side efects. Early next month will be starting an immunotherapy program and see how that works out.

Had a moment of weakness over the weekend, "want vs need" and want won out. Ordered a LionChief+ Halloween Berk. Fortunately I got a pretty good price on it. Should be a real hoot at the museum and on the Halloween garage display.

Good evening all,

An epic battle tonight as the junior high kids won 4-2.  Both sides rained shot after shot on the goal but both keepers did outstanding jobs in the net.  The local squad got the early lead but the visitors answered back.  The local kids got a lead before the half and extended it to 4-1 and the away team got one back just before the game ended.  Wow.  Work was busy.  Still humid but hopefully the rain will get rid of that.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening from sunny 74°F Southern Ohio,

Crazy weather.  It will rain, then clear up and be beautiful, then rain again, sometimes when it is sunny.

I did a little more arranging accessories on the layout and cleaned the glass shelves I installed.  I put a small workbench in the train room, and picked up a table from the high school they were throwing away to set the layout control panel on.  I also picked up a stool they were going to pitch because the seat was broken.  After repairs it should be just about the right height to sit on when running the trains.

8N - I like the idea of your “to-do” lists.  It feels good when you look back and see where your time and money went.

Fife - I agree 100%. Looking back on raising our daughters, and now raising our grandkids, it really blows your mind on how fast time and opportunities fly by.

Rich - Bring in the big bat! Good job

Brent - Hopefully it will be several years before we even need to think about “the question”.  Our girls are 14 & 15, but too cute for their own good.

The guys are running some post maintenance tests so I’m going to go see how things are going.

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Whoa, hold on cowpokes.  The ring was a boyfriend-girlfriend thing.  No picking out place settings for Alexis...not yet anyway.  Fifey's expression was no less priceless.  Middle Princess (our nurse) exchanging vows in 5 weeks.  Sorry for the confusion.  Still, those who've been watching the youngest grow up here (like Brent) just gotta be amazed how time flies.

Bird feeder survived last night.

Inside kind of day, so may work on layout.  Need to tack down AF loop.

Banks - Red is definitely in my future.  I'm not sure I'd ever want to handle a passenger train on 2.8% maximum gradient.  Shunting equipment around Ridgeley Yard would be more of my focus.

LOL! WHEW!!!!!!!!

Crisis averted, we can resume regularly scheduled programming.

I was about to start worrying about when Christina was asked that question... SurpriseDevilPirateGrumpy

Quick Check In -

Fife - glad all is well.....congas on the Princesses!!  Glad Fifepup is gonna visit!!

Yeah, they all grow up way too fast.......

Hit my 2nd career home run in softball, alas we lost the game 15-14.

Cooler and cloudy here, mid 80s, humidity comes back tomorrow.

Just trying to work, getting busier here....

Check back when I can...
