Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 72 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Plumber just left. Had a couple leaks around the circulator, and Fifey don't mess with pvc. Gonna pay folks a visit after while. Did finish another section of benchwork yesterday. Still have an eleven foot stretch with return loop to go. Didn't realize AF used a 36 inch curvature...
Banks - Yatchett still up on the stands. Gotta put some pics on spf eventually. Still kinda working track plan out, but won't even come near to being as complex as the past layout. Remember, this layout is being built to suit my collection of Lionel Generals, so my level is always nearby.
Good Evening all,
Dennis, Hope the situation with your dog improves quickly!
Banks, Sounds like you had a rough week-end, hope it gets better soon.
We went on a short vacation the past couple of weeks. We went up to Durango and rode the Durango Silverton RR, then down to New Mexico and rode the Cumbres & Toltec RR. What fantastic scenery! Not to mention the fantastic equipment.
Got home just before the heat, as close as we are to the beach our temps have only been in the upper 80's. Going to get the pool cover off and stay cool.
Take care guys and stay healthy.
Don
Good evening all,
Busy day at work, but all caught up. Nice walk at noon. Picking up granddaughter after her ballet class went well and will improve. Watched Izombie tonight. Another excellent episode. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Hello there,
checking in this evening from Indian River Inlet at Delaware Seashore State Park. Wierd looking sky a bit ago.
Looked like something from Star Trek.
Arrived here Sunday evening after a long day. Had to call AAA after stopping to eat. About an hour and a half after the call and a smack on the starter with a big hammer I hit the road looking for a new starter and some tools to change it. By the time we got to the campground the AC had died. While changing the starter I found a leak in the line to the rear AC. I'm going to fill it and head for home Saturday morning. I'll be looking for a permanent repair as soon as we get home.
88.....congrats on the Flyer set that will be something to cherish.
Phish.......glad the move went well. How many days a week while on the 12 hours?
Fife was thinking of you while crossing the bay bridge. Yatchet in the water yet?? How bout some new layout photos or maybe a thread with progress? ?
Grandson's team moved to the 3rd round of playoffs this evening 11to5.
Bugs are eating us. Goin to the camper and bed soon.
Prayers for those in need

Sturgeon-Phish Brent, Welcome to the world of two rail! The Post war AF are not that hard to service yourself. As always there will be lots of help here on the forum to help. Get the number of the engine as that will help. If it is a smoker don’t run it till you soak the smoke wick with smoke fluid. The drive wheels don’t roll by hand. You can rotate the armature. More than likely the reverse unit will stick and if not worn a cleaning and adjusting of the fingers usually do the trick. The train has a wonderful history. Jim

Good Morning from beautiful 72°F Southern Ohio,
Suppose to be in the high 80’s today. The morning has been beautiful. Last night I finished putting in the clothes line for my bride, finished the storm door installation and replaced a toilet flapper valve. We saw two bucks and two does while I was mixing the concrete setting the clothes line post.
My supervisor just “asked” me to return to the 12 hour shift from the 10 hour shift I asked to work while moving. Bleh. By the time I get home at 7:30 pm it is hard to do much in the evenings.
My bride is going to light up the Spectrum internet provider today. Of all the transition to do’s this has been the most frustrating.
Kev - I cannot remember off the top of my head but I believe the total transition for American Flyer from three rail to two rail was right after WWII. Prior to WWII they were three rail like Marx and Lionel. For a short period of time both were offered. Some of the early two rail still had the brass buttons in the center of the frames. (Greg) North West Flyer is more knowledgeable and hopefully will chime in.
Got to go
Good weather, but had some rain. Visit with financial adviser went well. Dental check showed no cavities and better insurance coverage. Got oil changed on Encore. Spent rest of day getting paperwork squared away again. Back to work on Tuesday. Found out I did fairly well in the 5K. I hope everyone has a good day.
Busy lately.
I don't remember who mentioned they had sailed a Gurmman canoe with a sail rig. I agree, I got the impression that when I finally get it right, it will be a lively thing to sail.
By the way, has anybody seen any of the America's Cup races? Amazing things - sail powered catamarans tunning on hydrafoils. They run with both hulls out of the water. The announcer mentioned that they were running a little over 30 knots in a 13 knot breeze!
Worked on the G scale elevated loop in the freight house. Have the track places and hooked up some temporary power to make a test run. My package from Digi-Key got here today, so I can get the proper wiring installed this week. Still need to make the loop about 2 1/2" longer over the length of the room - the ties are hanging off of the shelf on the sections of the loop across the width of the room.
We've got a kid's program coming up at the museum this weekend. In preperation for that, we got the tables for the Thomas the Train layout painted 'grass green'. We will have the elevated layout running, the Thomas layout, and a layout running some postwar equipment. I'll try to work the 164 log shed I just picked up into the set up.
Someone else mentioned an interfaith service they had attended. One of the more memorable experiences we've had was having a Passover dinner with a Jewish family.
Ome of the items I ordered from Digi-Key was some bridge rectifiers. I didn't read the spec sheet very well. Turns out they are surface mount items that are about 1/8" by 1/8". No way I'll be able to work with them for what I want to do. Back to the catalog to find something bigger.
About all for now.
Sturgeon-Phish Welcome to the world of two rail! Jim Jim My 1936 AF is three rail, when did they go to the 2 rail S gauge system?

This morning I went out back to cut up a tree that fell on one of the trails the other day when we had 75 MPH winds and swallowed a f@$#!&g bug that decided to look in my mouth UGH!. Puked twice and still feel like it is in there. Been all day.
Good afternoon all, the story here is hot weather. Triple digits or near it for the rest of the week. Brush fires in some places but not near us. Father's day was good and my kids took me out two days in a row. First place was a local place called the North Woods Inn for steak. Place has fake snow on the roof and is built like a log house. Sunday we went out for Chinese food in a Chinese community and shared the meal with my DIL's family. Had everything including lobster. Stayed up late last night so I got up late today. It's already afternoon and I just finished breakfast a while ago. Neighbor brought me some home cooked Mexican food last night and saved me from cooking. It was good. Getting ready to face the day now. Talk later,
Ray

Afternoon fellasIt has been a while since I posted. Been very busy, and only getting worse.Last month my parents came for a visit and my mother brought me quite the surprise. Back in 1947 my grandfather purchased an American Flyer trainset to celebrate my Mom's 1st Christmas. It is in exceptional condition (at least it was 15+ years ago), still need to unwrap it, take some pictures, and then I would like to have it serviced. Not sure where to take it as the LTS recently changed hands and I'm not familiar with the new owner or the fellas that work there... we'll see.Got news on Friday that TheQ may have to go to Biberach, Germany in August to do a training. If she goes it will be very hard for me to not go, just not sure what to do with the kids because I just can't see them enjoying it at their age... we'll see. TheQ wants to go to Zurich, Switzerland since it is only 2.5 hours away... me I want to go to Garmisch, Berchtesgarden, Salzburg and spend a day in Munich. Just not sure we will have enough time to do it all.
Morning. 83 degrees and 79% humidity. WOW. T'storms foreccasted this afternoon and evening. Busy day. County Commisioners' and Mayors' Assoc. Home late tonight.
Had great time at the Muslim service. Learned more about the Muslim faith. Had Christians, Jews and Muslims at the service. Couldn't eat dinner until 8:30 EDT. Official sunset. This is the month of Ramadan. Fast from sunup to sunset.
Banks, how do you think I pay for everything.
Hope all OK.
Later.

Good Morning from currently beautiful Southern Ohio,
I rained quite a bit yesterday and last night and it is to rain more later today but for right now it is nice outside.
We still do not have internet at the new house, hence I can’t start the Sunday Photo Fun or any other internet access. Getting a little aggravated at this company or more specifically with the local work control.
We moved the chicken coop and chickens to the new house over the weekend. Gabriel was a big help. So now all the critters, rabbits, chickens, dogs and kids are moved. The Honey Do list is being worked between unloading boxes. A new storm door to the kitchen was on the agenda yesterday after Masses. We’ll just keep plugging at it. I want to get the essential jobs done so I can start thinking about the new layout since I have a spare bedroom that is the train room.
Rich – I agree that parents should just stay out of the coaches and umpire’s and referee’s business in youth sports. Sure there are some that are better than others but for the most part they are volunteers and are giving of their time. Sometimes we tend to forget that it is just a game and odds are none of the kids will be making a living at the sport they play as kids.
Break over, time to get to work.
not much activity here lately. That's what lead to my " Where is everyone ".
Chief. ..that looks like quite the addition. Skimming more off of Roseyville to pay for it?
Dozing off gonna post this before I lose it.
Prayers for those in need.
Did nothing today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Have a good Father's day guys.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL US FATHERS OUT THERE!
Nice breeze this morning and less humid. High 80's today. Nice!
Grilling some steaks tonight.
Regards, Roy

Happy Fathers' Day.
Good morning all,
Some days just do not go well. Both my running partner and I had various issues that kept us from a good run today. I timed us at about 47 minutes, which is less than we are capable of. Vintage races were a big disappointment as the grid walk was a joke and there was not any old Indy cars different than last year. Wife was a trooper, but somehow I do not think either one of will be back next year. Sarah Fisher did win her class, but she only got to drive one lap so whoop-de-doo. Did watch Indy 11 break losing streak on TV tonight. Not the best day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Happy Father's Day

Now kindly wait until Rich is in position before you light those candles....
SJ,,,,,
Been raining some this AM. Small showers. Missed a biggie about an hour ago. Suddenly turned. Had 2.2 inches last night in a short time period. Hole behind house has water in it.
Happy Birthday SJ.
Hope all have a great Fathers' Day weekend.
