Good Evening.

Went for a mall walk this afternoon and found I can walk for a long distance...around the mall 4 times!! Now, to keep that going. Whistling

My sister told me that she still has my original Lionel set from way back when I was about 7 years old. And my trainset will be back home with me on Monday...

I also found I have two whole photoboxes of old photos I took from the train station in Woodstock and from the footbridge...from around the same time period. Things are coming back to roost here. Whistling

Good evening all !

Been absent for awhile, still trying to work thru the changes in my heart meds. Seem to be helping but progress is so dang slow.

BOC, Angelget better soon. Been there done that. My downfall was mixing CHF & salt. Oops

Did spend most of Monday morning at the museum, it was time to take down the Christmas decorations. Got that done then pulled some new cable thru the ceiling for some future changes to our systems.

RT, Good job on the broken screw. Thumbs Up

Well, time to rummage thru the fridge and dig out what I'll be cookin' for supper.

Night all.

P.S._Chief, hope you're feeling better.

BOC slow down there buddy that not good but glad your okay today

Well I got another 736 in the other day and knew it had a screw broke off in the one wheel

Well I carefully removed the wheel last night and noticed there was a hole all the way thru so turned it over and put a couple of drops of Hob-E-Lube ( which I have been using this bottle for about 15 years to oil my trains. ) in the hole on the back side I noticed within a 1/2 hour it had seaped through which gave me a good feeling any way took it to the drill press this am out in the garage put one of my tiny drill bits in and started drilling it from the back side I could feel it starting to come out so stopped and turned it over to see and there was enought for me to turn it out the rest of the way by hand. Big Smile

Now just a couple of parts and that will make number 3 ready to do her duty when I get my layout built again.

Not much else going on here today hope all have a good day and remember tomorrow is TGIF

That was close BOC, bruises are better than what it could of been. Take care! Angel

Good morning Guys, today had a Crummy start.  Bang Head

Well went to get fish out of the freezer for dinner tonight and thought I should check for water,,,,,,,,,,yep water in the bottom again. So I took everything out again and this time I did what I should of done last time. I pulled the back off the thing and looked at the drain tube. It looked okay but I pulled it out to check and sure as heck it had a big wad of crap in it so I took it to the garage blew it out then modified a tooth brush so I could scrub it out clean. Thawed the drain hole out and cleaned up the mess. We shall see but this should fix it for sure this time.

Have a good one.

Good Morning

Just got out from pris--I mean, hospital--whew that was close.

My heart took a dumper and I collapsed into my bathroom sink...so, now I am sporting a wonderful collection of bruises for my viewing pleasure.

Evening all!

Phish - nice work on the viaducts.

Mike C - I have had a lot of pain 1 & 2's in my career. The more noise - the less capable. Never knew anyone that was any good at their job that would complain about a team member moving things forward. Be proud of what you accomplish in spite of 'em!

Have a great evening all!

Good evening all,

Interesting day at work.  Both pains were here and both let me know it.   I may have gone "a bridge too far" on this project and may have to retrench a little.  Still the exercise has not been an entire waste of time as there are some benefits that will continue.   Weather still cold but drives were more timely today.   Wife and I finished puzzle tonight.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Afternoon all!

Headed to 65 today - sweet!

Chief - get well soon!

Ray - good luck with the care giver interviews Angel

Noon news all jammed up with a police contained stolen semi blocked off on the I-30 Access road east of Dallas. I-30 eastbound blocked off. Not sure why one stolen truck in all of the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex is enough to stop all programming?

Have a great day all!

Banks, prayers for your mom.  I know about caregiving.

Chief, get well soon, saw my doc yesterday and he says I might have a partially deflated lung.  He put me on prednisone for 5 days to see if it will bring down inflamation on my neck/arm problelm.  Don't know if the two things are related.  Also going to physical therapy today.

On top of everything else just got a late e mail about our group dinner of the month which is tonight at 5:00PM but won't get out of therapy until 4:30PM.  Drop back 5 yards and punt.

Also having a snafu about two of my prescriptions.  Need more input from my doctors.  More phone calls etc. etcc . etc.

Been shopping again for caregivers for the wife.  Checking out references etc. Had interview with one outfit but may get more.  All are expensive.  That's life.

More snow in the Sierras this week.  That's good for our water supply.  Had a good rain last week.  No more in sight yet from El Nino.

V8, glad you got your clothes exchanged.  I made the mistake of throwing away all the tags on some of the stuff we got for my wife and now she says it won't fit so we will have to donate it and buy some more I guess.

Ray

Aloha from an even-colder Chicago where i hope the car starts after being in the lot for 12 hours. I am posting on page -3; this forum sofware is funny.

Jim, I remember that name thread. cnw1995 = Doug Murphy (btw, cnw = Chicago and North Western = the line I ride every day - and 1995 is the year of amalgamation into the UP.)

JT, that is good advice for deadling with medicos of all types. I brought my skates to work today (got some looks on the train) so I can go over to the rinks at the park during lunch. Hope to try out the 'ribbon' rink path.

Get well soon, Chief!

Thanks for the video link, SJ.

Fife, do you just lever up the old tile and press down the new ones? I have a few broken ones in the laundry room I am supposed to fix but I've never done it.

According to the website I am on page 3. Cold, 12 degrees. I check in here everyday but not much to write about anymore. Except for the Flyer I put under the tree and the club meet, no toy train news lately.

Good Morning from a cold 10F Southern Ohio,

We too have the first accumulation of snow on the ground for this season. Kids had a two hour delay for cold.

Fife-Been a long time since I heard "Prom dress on a pig" Thanks for the laugh.

Banks-I'll include your mom in my prayers

JT-Thats good advice you put up to Banks; I'll try and remember it if I need it in the future.

Chief-I agree. The "improvment" does not seem to be an improvment. I wonder if the ads are messing with the program. Maybe the IT guys can figure it out. Sometimes returning to an eariler version of software, tried and true is the better improvment.

May God bless

Morning from the frigid tundra that is the Chicago suburbs: 0F and a -16F windchill!
Ordered a few parts yesterday so I can complete repairs on my #8204’s tender – looks like the Sound of Steam board is still good, just that the pickup on the truck isn’t making consistent contact anymore.

Banks

My frustration with this place and their Doctors grows. There is a different one every day and they won't call me when  they see her.

Banks: so sorry to hear about your mother.  Having went through nearly 20 years of medical care for my first wife before she passed as well as seeing my younger brother recently have two strokes in his 30s, I learned a couple of important lessons. 1) noone cares more about your (or your loved one’s) health than you, and 2) the guy who graduated last in his med school class is still called “Doctor”.  Taken together, I learned that you have to trust your instincts if you feel something isn’t going right, be your own advocate to make sure things get done right, and be vocal if they don’t seem to be.  If folks aren’t calling you back, take a look around the hospital room for information about an “ombudsman” or “patient advocate” and contact them.  That number likely rings in the hospital’s risk management department (i.e., the folks whose job is to keep the hospital from being sued) and that should get some attention.  It also lets everyone know that you are an “engaged” patient – and I’ve found that the polite-but-squeaky wheel will likely get well-greased.  And if not, consider going someplace else.

Actually cold of last week turned in to a slight case of pneumonia in left lung Friday night.  Breathing treatments and meds are making it better.

Buckeye sent that to you Chief, pay back.... Think he did it to me too.

Get well soon. It is better here but not over. Maybe I should see a doctor.

Page numbers have been screwed up since the last up-grade CTT got screwed on. Zip it!

Good evening all,

Great day at work.  Work on project went extremely well.  Some teething pains, but I expected that.  Pain 1 was not at work at all today and Pain 2 left early.  I did not have to drive either, which was nice.  Wife and I made progress on puzzle.  Izombie is on tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Cold. Funny page numbers showing today so difficult to track back to catch up.

Have a great day all! Stay warm and dry!

Has always been "funny" software.  Why I don't visit much.  Can change in the middle of typing.

Actually cold of last week turned in to a slight case of pneumonia in left lung Friday night.  Breathing treatments and meds are making it better.  On house arrest per Dr. and Wifey.  Will drive to Dr. tomorrow.  Pam took me yesterday.

Hope all are OK.

Later.

Hello there,

still watching the PA Farm Show. This time from room 719 at Altoona Hospital.  Brought Mom here Saturday and they decided to keep her. UTI again.  Must be a good one. They have her on IV antibiotics.  My frustration with this place and their Doctors grows. There is a different one every day and they won't call me when  they see her. There is talk of switching to oral antibiotics.  That's a good sign they're working on sending her home. Nurse asked "Did your mom have two hearing aids?" (She did) " We can only find one.  We'll cover the cost if we can't find it" while I'm thinking what about the agrivation of getting it?

January 12th and we got the first snow to stick on the road.  It was a slickery trip from work to here. Saw a couple of close calls.

  best move on

Prayers for those in need

Good day from cool (34F and snow flurries) Southern Ohio,

Got to the boy's game by the second half. He had a great game and scored the wining shot 49-47 with 2 seconds to go. I was proud, mostly as it was a rough game and he kept his cool even if it was an effort on his part.

It will probably be Friday before I get to work in the truck again because of sport schedules and 12 hour shifts makes for a really long day.

Question; a few years back there was a post that took people's form names, and put their real name together, for example, Sturgeon-Phish = Jim Sturgeon. Has that been done recently or would ther be interest in something like that?

lion88roar- When I see what the kids, particularly the boy eat, the saying, "What don't kill you only makes you stronger" comes to mind. He eats the leftovers from his friends at school all the time, (he is a bottomless pit when it comes to food) and he is like never sick.

Bill- That is a lot of spaghetti! Let the hutch wait or try and get some help. I'd come over but it's a bit far, unless a plate of spaghetti is on the menu!

Fife- What kind of floor you doing?

Got to go. May God bless

We got an extra 1.5" or so of white stuff over night and it is 7 out there. Lots of blowing going on with the wind we are having to. Got to check the lane for drifts.

Aloha from a frigid and sunny Chicago. Just enough snow fell to make it annoying to get home and clear everything off, Ray. And the Loop is still messy - though that's probably because I came in so early. RT, I envy the amount of freezer space you must have! Don't move that hutch until you feel aces!

Morning all. Cold down here. SJ I know you don't like  it but you don't have to share it because you don't you share things you do like not the things you don't. It's 30 going to 53 today.

Wife wants me to move this heavy hutch type thing she bought that we temporary put in the garage but I pinched a nerve or something in my left shoulder yesterday some how. We will see as the day moves on.

Bought like 25-30 pounds of ground beef yesterday and about 16 pounds of sausage to make spaghetti sauce and some meatballs all so out of it. So I have my work cut out for me already today.

Not much else planned for today so guess that's enough to get me started breakfast first then Spaghetti and meat balls next.

Talk to you all later hope you all have a good day.

Went to TTOS meet yesterday.  Saw D. Baker and a few other friends.

Impressed with an old Lionel C&O streamlined Hudson running on the club layout.

Might like to have one if the price was right.  They are very heavy.  Tender felt like a brick.  Maybe they roll good.

Got my new driveway gates installed last week and they look real nice and are more secure than the old wooden one.  Now I don't think the Santa Ana winds will bother them

Doug M., saw the snow on the weather map for Chicago and thought about you.  Stay warm.

Have a good week,

Ray

Afternoon Fellas

Not much going on these days.

DJ - BigBen had to leave the game because Burfict dropped for a sack and Ben fell on his right shoulder with all his and Burfict's weight on it.

Had a fun experience with Christina on Saturday. We were out to eat and the ladies room was locked, so I took her into the mens room. When we walked in she says 'Hey Dad there are two potties in here, but that one looks funny'. Me (without thinking) "That is an urinal", 'What's that?', "Where men pee", 'Cool, how does it work, can you show me?'... "Ummmm... No. We need to get back to the table to make sure Matthew eats his dinner." Seriously why???? Then as we were leaving Matthew noticed a french fry on the floor, bends down, picks it up, and eats it before TheQ or I could stop him.

Fife - TFA was indeed awesome. Hope you didn't do too much damage.

Speaking of damage. Christina asked me when I was going to wreck my car again so I could get a new one. UGH.
