Good night and HAPPY NEW YEARS.  BTW: I now eat oatmeal for breakfast.  Has brown sugar flavoring.

Chuck was a long time member of the Pot.  One of the early ones when it got started.  Use to be Elliot [Big Boy], Buckeye and myself when it started.  Then Chuck joined us.  Will never be forgotten.

God bless all of you.

Hello all

Well it was 0100UT Jan 01, 2016 when I came on shift:)

New years is not that big a deal for me. Have to change the calender sometime, but I hope everyone does have a good 2016

Did I mention here that the trolley/bus group I volunteer w/ got our new building recently? That will make a big difference for us. More (and better) work area and onsite indoor storage. Of course, the fun of moving everything...

'ok everybody, grab both ends of that PCC car...':)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Imediately or not sooner after I joined the forum in 2004, the Chief started his relentless interrogation of me.  He believed I was a fraud because he could not find Roger's Corners on a map of Ohio.  He continued the interrogation for many weeks until he demanded that Chuck  check up on me.  By that time he suspected I was an excaped prisoner from a NC chain gang.  So Chuck shows up on my doorstep to check me out.

As you can see Chuck deemed me completely legit and reported back to the Chief, but the Chief by now thought that Chuck and I were in schemming against him.  Actually we were.  After several months, guess who shows up on my porch, the CHIEF to check me out himself.

Needless to say the Chief had never seen a layout like mine that was not on a carpet and didn't wind up.  I taught him how to build benchwork and to wire everything. Most of the time spend was on the differences in three rail vs two rail track.  He was really intrigued on how we just plugged our transformers into a wall socket.  He exclaimed, "What will they think of next!"  Now that the Chief knows about electricity, he goes back to Roseyville gets himself elected Mayor and tells Duke Power he wants some of that electricity for the town.

And now you know the rest of the story as I kinda remember it. Whistling

BTW,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAZ!Cake

Good Morning and Happy New Year from overcast, dry and cool (mid 30's) Southern Ohio,

Going to miss Chuck too, never hear "Blueberry" without thinking of him.

I fininshed up the passenger side of the fuel injectors on the truck last night after Mass, then my bride and two of the kids sat with us to watch a movie, but I was in bed by 11pm and up at 5am for work. I'm starting my 7 day/night streach so not much progress is expected till I'm off again.

Youngest daughter was in an antique shop and picked up a Lionel 58-19 lamp post. It needs re-wired but the cast is not broke.

Buckeye- I remember those posts! Wasn't there an accesory for the layout with a hunter you and Chief had going a few years ago?

Have a safe day and may God bless this New Year

Jim

Happy New Year, Guys......

Miss ya, Blueberry....

Happy Birthday LAZ!!!

Spent New Years at the GF's(actually the ex-GF's) small party, watched Terminator Genisys and paused at midnight for a champagne toast.  Was home by 4 AM (fell asleep on couch at 2).  First time I'd been out on NYE since I left Florida.

Well, the old year ended with a literal BANG as the Princess' Relaint had finally been repaired for the 2nd time in 2 months, $2400 later.....and against my advice, she and her BF decided to take a trip to Fort Worth (from JAX, FL - Roy, are you listening? LOL) to visit her BF's Mom, step Dad and sisters.  Made just inside Tejas and the bottom end of the Reliant scattered like a Funny Car explosion....3 hours from their destination.  She was upset and broken hearted....she loved that car.  Well, as it turns out, luckily, they broke at a truck stop and were "interogated" by some woman, who as it turns out, is a reporter for Time Magazine....maybe it shows up next week.  That lifted her spirits a little.  So, they are on their own, as far as the car goes.   She's already upset at herself, and there is no reason to pile on.  Experience is the best teacher in this case.  No, I'm not flying to Dallas to fix it, either...sorry Roy...see ya at York...lol!

Other than that, I'm up and alive and God has blessed me with a great family and bunch of friends....May your New Year bring all of us success and happiness!!

Cen'tanni!

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 41 on this New Years day in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Stayed in bed 'til 1300, which I never do.  Pulled the 2026 (Father's Day engine) out of the case, oiled it up then cut it loose in front of acquisitions from rt and submmbob.

My new saying for 2016 - Life's short; run 'em fast!

Laz -birthday wishes are in order. Cake

anjdevil - They insist on learnin' the hard way.  Time to cut the financial cord.

Hoping everyone has a very healthy New Year.

Happy New Year all!

Lazy day here. Slept til 11:30 this morning. That was refreshing.

Missus and I went to Star Wars this afternoon. Only about 30 folks in the theater so that was nice. Good show and return to some of the theme/story "roots" of the orginal 3.

Phish - the custom accessory was a conversion I did of a Lionel fox and hunter to a beaver and hunter to celebrate the victory of beavers over the chief in his pond drama. It is so valuable the chief has it locked up in a vault at Rosyville city hall.

anj - did your daughter make it to FW?

Happy B-Day LAZ

Watching some football.

Regards, Roy

Roy, they did. The BFs step father had a truck and trailer and hauled to their house. Just need to decide what to do which the Reliant, unfortunately.

Actually it is on the unfinished layout.  Have to tell all the kids the story of the beavers and who made it.  They see it real soon after entering.

LAZ, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Buckeye will NOT post the photo of him and myself at Rogers Corner and me handing him a bag of GRITS.

Deer season is over.  Saw only one doe.  Plenty of turkeys.  Turkey season comes in and I'll see lots of deer and no turkeys.  OH WELL!!!

Later.

Good evening all,

Got the bay in the lean-to cleared out so now I can put four vehicles enclosed and under cover again.  Wife and I been working on the jigsaw puzzle from h---.   I had suggested we not do this one, but as usual that idea fell on deaf ears.  Have been reading the latest Trains.  Good issue.   Weather is still lousy here.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Buckeye, how you doing?? Any better yet??

Won a Lionel ALCO basket case A-A set #210 for parts last night. I need the parts for my dual motor B-unit like 8N has that I am going to build. So slow but sure I am getting everything readdy.

Chief, none taken here this year either. Tongue Tied But they show up every daay since the snow to eat. Laugh

You guys have a good one.

Good late morning from cool (mid 30’s) sunny Southern Ohio,

My bride and I had pork and sauerkraut for supper when I got home from work last night. The kids went and spent the night at their mom’s, so we had the house to ourselves and fell asleep on the couch!

LAZ-Happy Birthday

KRM-Glad you’re starting to feel better.

Mike-I bet when the frost and snow are on you’ll be glad the cars are under cover

Anjdevil2-At least the princess is safe.I hate to think of the time and money we’ve spent on our oldest daughter’s car related issues. Someday I’ll learn, maybe.

Roy-Now I remember, it was really neat how you modified the fox to look like a beaver with Chief shooting at it.

I am rewiring a Lionel 58 lamp post second daughter found in an antique shop.Need to go to the hardware store now for some small screws, nuts and washers for the terminal connections. It looks really neat, all fancy and the like.

May God bless,

Jim

Hey all!

Deconstructing Christmas today. Indoors is done and after a short rest I will take the outdoor lights off the eaves.

Cloudy and will hit 50 today?

De-Christmas decorations done we really didn't have any outside other than a wreath on the door so that part was easy wife took care of that, I did the tree.

Got my $30 8872&8873 in the 8872 had the non power truck just hanging well it was a rough fix man Laugh it was a C clip and then on other end of the truck the spring and the rectangular clip to hold the truck on and clean and relube the motor and runs like a champ.

Not much else going on the 2 K-line SW-2 are fine also so all where a great buy at a great price.

Hope all enjoying the weekend Talk to you all later

Good evening all,

Had the oldest daughter's family down for a visit today.  After lunch, we played "Ticket to Ride".  That is a fun, low pressure game for everyone to play.  Weather was sunny and that made the train room more enjoyable for all.   Ran the trains tonight as well.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

here was what got the great groundhog caper started that Roy had to make the ground hog going into the hole as the hunter ( chief ) raised his rifle

ChiefEagles

WAR!!!!!!!!  YANKEE GROUNDHOGS!!!!!!

Came back from pond and drove up to garage.  Saw big groundhog at greenhouse just inside fence.  He ran under tractor/boat shelter.  Sneaked around the shelter and no groundhog.  Walked under shelter and there was a groundhog hole behind the tractor.  The rascal has burrowed underneath my tractor and has a second hole behind some plywood leaning against a big work bench.  Time to die!!!!
