Good evening all,

Good day at work if I had to go back (5.5 more years.... or less....hopefully).  One of the 2 chatters was gone so the other one had no one to talk to.   Got caught up on case reports.  Two weeks of labs start tomorrow.  Did not have to drive.  Going to bed early as right leg not doing well.  Fortunately the left one is fine.  Really tired of this pain junk.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Evening all!

The accessory I made for the Chief involves the great beaver incident at the Chiefs pond. Ground hogs and beavers look similar at a a distance or if you have the Chief's eagle eye vision. Whistling

Not a bad day here today. Sunny-hazy and I think it hit 50. Cooler than yesterday.

Saw some great football this weekend. Almost turned off the TCU-Oregon game Sat night at the half and for some reason decided to keep watching. Great comeback!

Have a great evening all!

Regards, Roy

Suppose to have big rain all this week but all we got today so far was a couple of sprinkles.  I spent yesterday getting everything outside ready for the rain.  Suppose to be heavy tomorrow.  Beleive it when I see it.

Mornin' Fellas

Well I'm back to work after being off since Christmas Eve Eve. Got very little of what I wanted to get done, sigh. Went to Pittsburgh with the family on New Years Day and returned on Saturday. Kids had fun. Don't like making that trip as an overnighter, but having to pay for a hotel room is a pain in the rear-end, so we do what we have to do.

Think the cough is finally done with. We'll see.

Happy Birthday (belated) to Laz.

See Chief is having issues with another rodent... first it was beavers, now groundhogs? LOL

Hope everyone had a happy and joyous New Years.

Doug you better make sure the washer can be fixed. Remember the dishwasher, she might want a new fridge to go with the washing machine. Or a matching dryer.

Piratecnw1995 - Well, 10 straight days of rain, 37 year old toe-rails, bad cockpit drain hose that SIL never got around to fixin'...  The bilge pump is working, but if the float freezes in place (which it would've today probably), the water will just keep freezing and pushing upwards.  An hour of prevention...

Aloha and HNY! Sunny and cold in Chicago. Hey, wait a minute, it's sunny and snowing. How's that happening? Watched a lot of bad bowl games this weekend. But finished cleaning all the track using SJ's method (elbow grease, clean cloth, alcohol) and ran Ivor a lot. Married kids finally left! I drove their loaded car into the city yesterday so they could go to watch the Bears lose and then took the milk train back home. Then discovered the washer isn't working. I tore it down but it's nothing obvious so will call someone. That's the third appliance in a month. . . :)

Fife, how does water get into the yatchet when it is out of the water?

Morning all from a now-snowy Chicago!  Getting back in the swing of things now that the holidays have passed, the seven guests have left, and all the holiday decorations are back in their boxes.  Got some good train-running time with the boy over the weekend - he’s now got the hang of using a railer to put cars back on the track by himself.  Also, he took a shine to one of my small levels – he now goes around the layout, places it across the track, and checks it to see if all three rails are level. Fun stuff to watch.

Good morning from cold (28F) Southern Ohio

We got a dusting of snow last night. I'm off this morning and start nights tonight.  The kids were glad to be back to school.  I'm helping with a funeral Mass of a friend today.

Getting another cup of coffee then straighten up the garage some.

May God bless

Mike that on the chief was back in 2008 lol

Fife them 2055 are nice been playing a little with mine and the 675 out in the garage I have a test strip about 7' long now so I can do a little switching and test some engines like my 2055. I've gotten rid of the tmcc I had not sure if I will buy legacy or not when I get running trains agin probably will but I'm likeing running in conventional again been a while.

Not a lot going on at present. Just ordered some more parts from Jeff K. so they should be here like wednesday which is good. After listing the 8872 noticed I had to repair a couple of things on it and I needed some other parts for other things so I'm good now for a while I hope lol.

Starting to chill down here also were supose to have frost warnings tomorrow and tuesday morning. Remebered about 1/2 hour ago we still have soda in the truck so had to go out and get that so it don't freeze over night. and back in the 60's starting thursday. no wonder I can't get rid of this cold.

Hope all had a good weekend

Good evening all,

Good news, bad news.  Did my walking at a 17 minute mile pace today.  Bad news is that I only did 2 miles.   Left leg is fine.  Right leg is about 90%.  Wife and I finished the puzzle today.   Even the last few pieces were not easy.  Weather still cold.  Chief, your attitude toward ground hogs is like mine towards rabbits and squirrels.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Evenin' boys.  The sun finally showed itself all day, but it never got above 50.  Temps are s'posed to nose-dive, so I drove down to the marina, climbed up on the yatchet, and pumped out the bilge, manually, until it was bone-dry.  Came home and watched my Ravens go 0-for-Cincy this year.  Can't believe 88's team squeeked into the 6th spot.  Oh well, 49 days 'til Daytona.

It's cool that Spank and Rich got together.  I've met a lot of great pals via the Coffee Pot.

Did run the 2055 today.  Life's short; run'em fast!

Well, I do agree with Mrs. Buckeye.  We all have always known that.Whistling

Well, had a light frost this AM.  Second one this fall/winter.  Unbelievable for NC.

Sir. J sending his cold air down though.  Forecasted high Tuesday is 39. Surprise

Hope all have a great week ahead.

BTW: Ground hog made big mistake.  Was mowing a few years ago.  He sat on top of his dirt pile at back fence.  Ignored me.  Second round with mower, still there.  Drove to shelter, left mower running, went inside and got rifle.  .17HMR sent him raiding the happy gardens in the sky.  No more ground hogs.  Message got out I guess.

here was what got the great groundhog caper started that Roy had to make the ground hog going into the hole as the hunter ( chief ) raised his rifle

ChiefEagles

WAR!!!!!!!!  YANKEE GROUNDHOGS!!!!!!

Came back from pond and drove up to garage.  Saw big groundhog at greenhouse just inside fence.  He ran under tractor/boat shelter.  Sneaked around the shelter and no groundhog.  Walked under shelter and there was a groundhog hole behind the tractor.  The rascal has burrowed underneath my tractor and has a second hole behind some plywood leaning against a big work bench.  Time to die!!!!

Good evening all,

Had the oldest daughter's family down for a visit today.  After lunch, we played "Ticket to Ride".  That is a fun, low pressure game for everyone to play.  Weather was sunny and that made the train room more enjoyable for all.   Ran the trains tonight as well.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

De-Christmas decorations done we really didn't have any outside other than a wreath on the door so that part was easy wife took care of that, I did the tree.

Got my $30 8872&8873 in the 8872 had the non power truck just hanging well it was a rough fix man Laugh it was a C clip and then on other end of the truck the spring and the rectangular clip to hold the truck on and clean and relube the motor and runs like a champ.

Not much else going on the 2 K-line SW-2 are fine also so all where a great buy at a great price.

Hope all enjoying the weekend Talk to you all later

Good late morning from cool (mid 30’s) sunny Southern Ohio,

My bride and I had pork and sauerkraut for supper when I got home from work last night. The kids went and spent the night at their mom’s, so we had the house to ourselves and fell asleep on the couch!

LAZ-Happy Birthday

KRM-Glad you’re starting to feel better.

Mike-I bet when the frost and snow are on you’ll be glad the cars are under cover

Anjdevil2-At least the princess is safe.I hate to think of the time and money we’ve spent on our oldest daughter’s car related issues. Someday I’ll learn, maybe.

Roy-Now I remember, it was really neat how you modified the fox to look like a beaver with Chief shooting at it.

I am rewiring a Lionel 58 lamp post second daughter found in an antique shop.Need to go to the hardware store now for some small screws, nuts and washers for the terminal connections. It looks really neat, all fancy and the like.

May God bless,

Jim

Hi guys,

Think today may be a bit better.  I am still getting my butt kicked by this hack and cough but at least last night I started to cough up some loose stuff for the first time since Monday. Sleep is hard to get coughing so much. Bet Sandra is sick of me being sick.  Dead

Buckeye, how you doing?? Any better yet??

Won a Lionel ALCO basket case A-A set #210 for parts last night. I need the parts for my dual motor B-unit like 8N has that I am going to build. So slow but sure I am getting everything readdy.

Chief, none taken here this year either. Tongue Tied But they show up every daay since the snow to eat. Laugh

You guys have a good one.

Good evening all,

Got the bay in the lean-to cleared out so now I can put four vehicles enclosed and under cover again.  Wife and I been working on the jigsaw puzzle from h---.   I had suggested we not do this one, but as usual that idea fell on deaf ears.  Have been reading the latest Trains.  Good issue.   Weather is still lousy here.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Phish - the custom accessory was a conversion I did of a Lionel fox and hunter to a beaver and hunter to celebrate the victory of beavers over the chief in his pond drama. It is so valuable the chief has it locked up in a vault at Rosyville city hall.

Actually it is on the unfinished layout.  Have to tell all the kids the story of the beavers and who made it.  They see it real soon after entering.

LAZ, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Buckeye will NOT post the photo of him and myself at Rogers Corner and me handing him a bag of GRITS.

Deer season is over.  Saw only one doe.  Plenty of turkeys.  Turkey season comes in and I'll see lots of deer and no turkeys.  OH WELL!!!

Later.
