Good morning as always gray out there. 24 going to 36.

My friend Mark's daughter is a meteorologist and she said you can't trust any Forecast more than 3 days out...

And now we know why Healthcare cost so much!!!!  Angry

You just can't make this stuff up.  Bang Head

So Brent if they are out of network then you on the hook for 50% now???? That is the way it would be for us. That is the way it was when I went to Mayo Clinic and why I had to pay. But on the other hand Mayo found out in four days what the network never figured out in six months. I was born with Hemangioma on the bone and liver and it may of looked like cancer in the MRI but was not.

Mornin' Fellas

The twists and turns in this saga are as plenty as in a grand prix race! Apparently the company TheQ's company used for insurance isn't the company processes claims, so you call company 1 to find out if the provider is in network and if the service will be covered, then the provider places the claim with company 1 - who then forwards it to company 2 to have the claim processed. Company 1 has multiple departments, one is responsible for picking up the mail, another to input the claim, another to review the claim, another to approve the claim, and yet another to process the claim and forward to company 2... What The......????? It took some leg work by a very nice and even more helpful lady at company 1 to get this all figured out. The claim will be paid, but no one really knows when, 'probably in the next week or two'.

Then I come to fing out that the provider (who I was told was in network last November) isn't in network... this is one of the things that has got to change. I don't give two rats' rearends if they are in network or not - every doctor should be 'in network'........

SoapBox

Snow has been melting quite quickly here, esp along the roads (guess the Sun heats up the road surface and that helps melt the snow along the edges)... woke up this morning to a frozen stream from the top of my driveway down to the street. Pretty neat as you can see the 'flow'. Some ramblings that we could get another dose this weekend... guess I better check the weather forecasts... Sigh

Good evening all,

Quiet day at home.  Went to watch niece's husband to be put on a Christian rock concert (now there is a contradiction in terms at some level) with the band he is in.  It was high energy for sure.   The drummer was fun to watch.   I do have some really really good news.   I am sure some of the long timers here recall my tales of my Norwegian soccer friend.   She and her longtime GF finally got engaged!   I am so happy that she has found someone.   No date is set but sometime in 2017 is the plan.   Tomorrow we go to Bloomington to see the younger daughter and her son.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening all,

It was bit warmer again today and we had a few raindrops.  There was a possiblity for snow overnight but I don't see it happening.  Had a long, but productive day.  Tomorrow will be another busy Friday for me.

Jim - Photobucket does run slow on my PC and it is probably due to all the ads and everything else it runs.  The study is based on the book The Exemplary Husband

BOC - Glad the shakes went away.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all.

Yesterday morning when I left for my walk, 6:30am, I saw some marks on the sidewalk and I thought no that's not what it looks like. I walk on up the street and there were all kinds of piles of road apples so yes the sidewalk marks were definitely from horse shoes. They were all over the place, both sides of the street and the sidestreets as well. Ran into one of my neighbors who always walks her dogs about the same time and she confirmed it. She said her dogs were going nuts barking about 3:30am so she goes out on her balconey and there were 6 or 7 horses just wondereing around so she calls 911. The police come out and more or less just follow them, traffic control I guess, around the neighborhood for awhile til they go back to there pasture. One of them must have preferred to stay out as the police had to come back a little after 5 to wrangle the stragler. "Head'em up move'em out, Rawhide"  Laugh And here we slept thru it all. Zzz

Museum day tomorrow, all packed and staged in the garage to load-n-go before 6 am. Gotta leave early to beat the cr***y traffic..

Gotta finish fixin supper.

Later all.

Good Evening.

Gee, what a dull day we had here. Got to 36F here but now we are only going to 28F tomorrow...in the snow.

So, everything seems to be non-tremoring now. Kinda wonder what brought that on this morning

Anyhow...got some layout work to get tonight ...so have good evening!!!

Buckeye, Wow! Such a deal!  I think the original price was around $60.

Obviously, the store didn't know what they had.

Kev - I did... they received the claim in 1/8/2016 (I have the certified letter return receipt), but they did nothing with it. Called Dr and they faxed it to med ins yesterday, gotta call them today to ensure they received it... this really should not be this difficult!!!!!

Yes Brent, I think it is just by design on the INS companies part. They just hope you will break down and pay.  I had the same problems before the ACA so I can’t blame that. I ended up going to Mayo Clinic on my own dime back in 2008 when I was mis-diagnosed with bone cancer. The INS company UHC was a joke. It is a shame they take advantage of you when you need them the most. It should not be this difficult!!!!!

Waiting for my parts for the twin motor ALCO B unit to get here.

Morning Guys,

33 with something they call the sun. Heading to 40. No plans.
Got my awg 22 wire connectors yesterday from Mouser  that I will use on the ALCO project, They are nice and small and black to boot, Should work out great.

JimPhish, The thing about Menards is they don’t stock most of the train stuff in the store. It seems to be a seasonal thing for the stores. I was at Menards on Sunday and they had two sections of curve track a handful of cars and buildings next to some flower pots. I think your better ordering off line for stuff this time of year.
Buckeye, glad you are doing better. I am much better but still not where I need to be. Still fighting the post nasal glue.  Ick!

Yes, I'm getting my stamina back, but when I hit the hotel rooms I fall asleep fast. Still have some soreness in the kidney area but it is minor.

Good Morning from cool (28F) Southern Ohio,

Wrapping up night shift, start dayshift Friday.

Doug-There is a Menards about 50 miles north of where I live. A lot of guys here at work go by the store and would pick up some track if I asked. I may do that.

Mike-Sounds like the leg is doing better!

Buckeye- Glad you're getting out and felling better

Joe-What is the name of the Bible Study?

Messed around some with the Photobucket yesterday. The program starts and loads then the screen goes blank. When I open the program with my bride's brand new MAC it runs fine. Maybe I need to do an upgrade with the old MAC I use. I've heard that since there are so many ads it uses alot of capacity to run.

Have a good day, and may God bless

Good evening,

It's just about bedtime but I have time for a quick post.  Had a decent day at work and then a nice dinner out with the wife.  I have an early start tomorrow but it is for a good reason.  I will meet with some other neighborhood men to work through a Bible study on becoming better husbands.  I am looking forward to it, and to getting to meet some new men in my neighborhood.

Buckeye - That is a great find.  I hope the trip went well.

Good evening all,

Had a very good day.  Got all my work that had to be done this week so I am taking both Thursday and Friday off.  Going to see other grandson Friday now.   Played soccer with the high school kids.  My side won 10-7 and I had a good walk at noon today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning,
Like Doug said,
27 going to 35 and gray. I am ready for winter to take a hike.
Shuffled trains around on the layout last night and ran them for about an hour. That 0-8-0 USRA #123  I got from Bob sure is a good smoker and has wonderful gear drive action.  Yes
John has sent my ALCO back that he pulled the wheels and replaced the pinion gears on so maybe in a few days I can get back on the twin motor 200 series ALCO B-unit.   Wink
Deer have cleaned us out on feed corn so a trip to Farm & Fleet is on the to do today.
Still trying to figure out how I want to go on a grapple for the John Deere  The get by option will be about $700 the what I want option is $1,500. Not much cost price value in either since I will not be using it every day but it will sure take the back out of the work if I do get one.  Hmm
Dennis, behave!!  Devil
RT get checked out!  Angel
Brent, I am finding it is best to get everything pre-approved before you let the doctors order or do anything. I just got a EOB on some blood work the Dr. did with a big NO Won't pay from BCBS, ( lack of medical necessity ) SO I guess the INS co. knows more than the doctors.  Now I am out $913.00 for something I guess I did not need or even know why it was ordered. And to boot it came out negitive anyway. Bang Head

Aloha. Grey and cold downtown. Quiet night. Catching up on some reading. Nothing new at work today - Jim, you'd love perusing the train section in Menards  - it's like a hobby store; I think their track looks great and is priced well - the accessories are very nice and they sell 'sheets' of flats and all sorts of other cars.

Morning all from the unpredictable weather of Chicago!

Many thanks to all for the steam ideas KRM, lion88roar, rtraincollector, and fifedog - I'm doing some deep dives into each of them and will start shopping once I get my next consulting gig.

In the interim I did buy a couple of AC relays and circuit breakers from Automation Direct, which has a a really good web site - reasonable prices, lots of detailed information, and the products are intelligently organized to make finding the right thing pretty easy. If you haven't been there, might be worth a visit.

I'm also not much of a commemorative car sort of guy, but with the new release this week Menards is continuing to do some really interesting things.  Kudos to them for their continuing commitment!

Good evening from 35F Southern Ohio,

Going to drop into the mid 20's tonight. I got up a little early and messed with the Photobucket

Doug/Joe- I did the drag and drop from the desktop to the photobucket and it worked great, thanks! I'll check on the app for the phone. As it turned out my bride when setting up her new computer changed the passcode on my phone too somehow and I was using the wrong passcode and wore out my welcome with too many attemptes to sign on.

I ran the portable generator for a while today and used the garage circuits for a load, all worked well

The Menards train really does look nice, at that price they must be selling almost at cost I'd think. Is their price on track reasonable? I need to pick up some, forgive me AC Gilbert, 3 rail track.

Fife-I like the way you think; check out the work ethic and stick to it drive.

RT- could the new leads be infected?

Roy-70 degrees! wow.

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Hola Dudes & Dudettes.

Finally got the batteries recharged.

Fife, Should have warned you to wear some shades so the glare from the baldies wouldn't hurt the eyes. Laugh. The ball cap guy was running the Texas Special, earlier he had his old steamer on(fotgot the #).

RT, I seem to have a bit of discomfort with mine, thing is big, when I sleep to long on my left side. They tell me not to but unless I am in restraints there is no way to keep from rolling onto my left side. Between the defib and the c-pap it is extremely difficult to find a really comfortable position.

It's a couple days late but I've got a few photos to post on the Photo Fun thread from last weekend.

BOC, That is one cute kitty, amazing eyes.

Later all.
