Hi,

First off: Thanks Buckeye, Just keep working for us SS guys. Brent, I have seen no evidence of Menards selling any info. So I agree with you on it not making good sence.
Second: Cold Cold Cold 2 right now and heading down to like -7 tonight. Worse for Doug up north.   But looking up after tomorrow.
Third: For you want-to-be hunters. The neat side of in the woods. This is 25’ from the front door.

Good evening all,

Got to chapel on time this morning.  Fired up the old 87 Buick and took it out for excercise this afternoon.  Stopped by produce store and loaded up on veges.  While I was out I took a tour of the Azusa end of the new Gold Line light rail line near us.  Looks like the catenary is all up to the end of the line except for a couple of breaks near the freeway.  Whole thing should be electrified by next month I think.  They are already running test trains on the line.  They are also building a 200 car parking garage at the Eastern Terminal near us at Citrus College.  Won't take long to fill that up.  During the first phase, the end of the line was in Eastern Pasadena at Sierra Madre Ave with even more parking and that place is full all the time now.  My son rode the Gold Line from there to downtown Pasadena to see the Rose Parade.

Made some oyster stew this afternoon and OD'D on that.  Got left over chicken and Pork chops for dinner so should not have to cook.

Got another appointment for wife to get physical therapy for her neck pain today.  She went there once but they did not give her a follow up appointment.  I guess they were waiting for us to do it but nobody said anything.  I am sick and tired of so many appointments between doctors and dentist.  Bad enough keeping track of my own.  Now have to do it for both of us.

Neurologist said he is having a conference with my family doctor to decide if wife needs to see yet another doctor.  Enough already!  Not going to push it until they call me.

My wife made it to her first train meet with me last Sunday and it went OK.  Might take her to the next TCA meet too if she wants to go.

later,

Ray

Hanen't got the snowplow on either of the big tractors yet. Highs were in the teens Tuesday & Wednesday.Heat wave on Sunday up to 32 is predicted. May take down some outside decorations. Then back to the deep freeze next week.

Off t bed soon........I should spend a couple hours at the office tomorrow

Prayers for those in need

Tremors - Great movie!  I liked the sequels, too.  They didn't live up to the first one, though.

Ice/freezing rain coming Sunday.  Char has a doctor appointment on Monday - just a checkup on her bone marrow.  Five years since her bone marrow transplant, my wife is doing great.  Thank God, her sister (a close match) and the prayers of family and good friends.  :)

PS - I see they changed the software again.  This is better, but the defaults were backwards?

Morning gang.  Chilly but warming fast with sun.

Rich, thanks for the work.  You are doing a better job than Buckeye.  He takes weekends off.

Think today may end up "Wifey day."  Wants to go here and there.  Usually has buddy lined up and they shop most of the day.  Hinting for me to drive her around.

Later.

Hi GUYZ,

Cold start here at 8.  Glad my Flintlock season was over yesterday.  I scored on a nice doe at about 435 yesterday afternoon.  Took it to the butcher and helped him skin it.  Gonna be real cold here today with wind chills in the negative numbers.

BRUTUS, Yes TREMORS was a great movie!  Loved REBA in it with all the guns.  Still get a kick out of it.  Never saw the others. It's one of those movies like Escape from NY that when its on you stop and watch for a while.

Stay frosty my friends,

Morning all!

A balmy 32 this morning. Temps to return to normal mid-fifties next week. Gray here and will just stay in today watching some football.

Daughter has flu. She had the flu shots early so she got the bad one not covered. Took her to the doc. Hope I escape it.

Jim - always great to hear that Char is doing well! Congrats!

SJ - get better soon!

Hair cuts are over rated... I'm going to take to just pulling mine out - seem to have plenty of opportunities to do so lately.

Laz, congradulations on getting a deer.  Did you get it with the flint Lock?  Not quite sure the way you said it.  Nice thing to have a butcher to cut it up.

Still juggling appointments here.  Discovered this morning that we have three things scheduled on the same day next week.  Got one of them changed today.Oops - Sign

Still looking for gardener to come back about the broken pipe in the sprinkler system.  Suppose to rain tonight.

Tanks SPMAN RAY.  Yes it was with the Flintlock.  To my amazement it did go off without a hitch.  Sometimes they are quite finicky.  Hope your WIFEY is doing better.

Good evening all,

Good day.  Saw all the grandkids.  Spent some quality time with the one who stayed the evening with us.  Did some shopping in Indy as well.  Scored a couple of CDs and the wife got some movies and books.   Weather supposed to be nasty tomorrow.  Probably will stay home Monday the way it looks now.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  My birdies' season ends on an ill-advised pass.  What kills me is they were gashing NE on the ground.  Oh well, DAYTONA in 42 days....

Morning all.  Lazy morning for Wifey and I.

Now she is off to her Mom's who has called being sick.  Main thing there is she is old, will not eat, smokes and sips wine after several heart thingys.

I will represent us at a reception for the retiring Church pianist.  Then a later reception for Human Services with Legislative and County leaders.

Fifey, my "CATS" dropped the ball too many times too.  But my most favorite Cowgirls are still in there.

Have a great week.

Good morning all,

Light rain during the night and this AM.  Gardener came yesterday and found that we have a broken water pipe in our sprinkler system.  It is galvanized metal and has rotted out from age.  He can't fix it so have to get estimates on putting in new pipes.  Might just wait until spring and water by hand until then.

Dinner out last night at Chinese place.

Church today and lay low this afternoon.

Good evening all,

Quiet Day.  Slept late after long day yesterday.   Watched Southampton defeat Man U. 1-0 today on Telemundo.  Got boxes down from attic so we can start "undecorating".  Still not sure about weather for tomorrow.  Watched 2 more Sherlocks.  Wife will be watching Downton Abbey.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening,

I was in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, for work from Wednesday to Saturday and didn't have any time to post.  The weather was cooler there too (mid-40s) but not as cold as back in Ohio.  We are supposed to get some freezing rain overnight.  I hope so, but I hope it turns to snow even more.

Cloudy, misty, drizzle today.  Opposite of the nice sunny day that we had yesterday.  Too bad I was tied up indoors yesterday.

Stopped by the LHS yesterday.  My PE trolley is still not here.  Next week, maybe.

Brutus - Tremmors was a good movie.  I don't remember much about the sequels.

I noticed that the new Forum format has brought back the number of posts.

All for now.

Aloha. Grey and cold but after last week, 17 feels warm. Just got an inch of snow overnight. Nothing to worry about. Glad to be working in the office. Laz, the Bear's new GM should be interesting. Next up: a new coach. Lovie is having his problems in TB though I miss him too. I think as my next project I'll either fix up or replace the blue plastic banquet table cloth I have used as a 'sky' backdrop - just hanging off the rafters to cover the puffy pink insulation in the wall.

Good afternoon,

We had a mix of rain and sleet throughout the night which made the roads a bit slick this morning.  The news reported plenty of accidents overnight.  I was able to work from home today so that was nice.  We had a few flurries later in the morning, but it didn't last long.  The kids are in school today, but it's supposed to get much colder tonight so I'm expecting the now-slushy roads to freeze.  We chose not to have cable when we moved back to the US; we use an antenna which gets us about 12 free HD channels and a Roku which lets us stream Hulu, YouTube, Amazon, etc. through our internet connection.  It has been great, but the downside will rear its ugly head tonight as we will miss the championship game since we don't get ESPN.  I will try to find it on the radio, but at the end of the day it's just a game.

Good morning all,

I just got my umpteenth phone call to upgrade our house to make it more energy efficeient.  I tried a new tactic with these birds.  Instead of just hanging up and have them call back again, I just let them give their whole pitch and then tell them I'm not interested.  I don't think they will call me again.  I burned up enough of their time to have made several calls.  I just don't think I will live long enough to break even on expensive upgrades compared to just paying what my utilities are now.  For some reason, they just don't get it.  Anyway it's fun to play with them.Devil

We had a nice little rain over the weekend.  Won't have to water the lawn for a while.  Got a nice new crop of weeds coming up in the back yard.  Time or weed killer again.  We have a little more snow on top of Mt Baldy today and it looks nice.

Had a good walk this morning and we are going to lunch with the widow of my best train buddy.  Been wanting to do it for a long time and finally found a good day for both of us.

Have a good one,

Ray

Good evening all,

Slow trip into work today, but got all caught up.  Finished fixing labs from before Christmas so maybe certain people will shut up about it.  Trip home tonight was ok and roads should be good the rest of the week.   Will help wife "undcorate" tonight.  She is working all the rest of the week.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Ray if you really want to have fun get a can of the horn blast that boaters use works well make sure you actually have human on other end of line first thou

2nd idea is just lay the phone on a towel as this way they can't hear you putting it down. and just let them keep talking every once in a while check to see if there still on the line. but don't say anything theres other things you can do but thats the easiest 2.
