RockIsland52 Greetings from Cape Ann Taxachusetts! I am wiped. The storm dumped 27 inches of Snohio. Winds were a sustained 35+ with gusts to 65 around here. Snow drifts to 5 feet. And it is STILL snowing and windy. As fast as I cleared snow the wind put it right back. So after 4 trips out snowblowing today I had to give up. Tomorrow is another day. Schools are closed of course. But the driving ban will be lifted at midnight. More snow on tap for Friday and possibly next Monday. I'm off to pop an Ibuprofen or two and hit the sack. As JoeyD would say, sayonara! JACK

Remember JACK, pace yourself. It will still be there tomorrow. Also a few OL Mils at the end of a sesion really does help. Watch that back.

Good evening all,
Absolutely miserable day at work, but an excellent night playing indoor soccer. I guess it all evens out overall. Did have some excitement at work as a bathroom overflowed and our floor started getting wet. Problem was fixed and all was back to normal before I went home. I hope everyone has a good day and Jack, be careful with all that snow.
Keep on training,

Tonight, I have invaded the South again.
Drove over the New River Gorge today. I need about a week to explore that area including Thurman.

Mornin' boys. Bright & cold here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Freezing precip tonight. Just got back from Penn Station, as Fifepup on his way to see his gal in Schenctedy. His train was an hour late due to enginge failure. On the up-tick, he won't have to hold over 90 minutes at NYC.
Buckeye - I believe it is customary to bungee off that span. You first.
Mornin' Fellas
24 hours post car accident, nose is broken, and therefore swollen so it is even larger than normal. BMW is a mess. Other drivers were OK and drove away from the site. Just lovely as I just spent over $1,000.00 putting new brakes all around, new tires all around, and a new serpentine belt on... to make it last 5 more months! UGH!!!!!!Stopped by the repair shop last evening to get some stuff out of it and all I can say is, she saved my life (which I am grateful for), and very sad to see her in that state. May never see her run again, which would be a shame, very sad day.Fife - most EXCELLENT observation! BTW - laughing does hurt.Hope everyone else is holding up.Banks - not sure I said anything, but prayers for you and your family on the loss of your dad. Hope to see everyone in York in April! Maybe I'll have something in B&O\Chessie blue to tool around in by then...

York - yes, I plan to be there. Got the flyer in the mail last week but we preregistered at the fall meet so good to go!
Sunny here and cooling down. Back to 40's/50's next week. Rain for the weekend.
Regards, Roy
Hi GUYZ,
Cool one here at 7 above. Gonna have some flakes this afternoon, then big storm tis Sunday? Been doing the crosscountry skiing the past 4 days. Getting in about 5 miles a day with my MINNIE dog, on ol railroad bed. Nice and quite out there. As JERIEMIAH JOHNSON would say "nothin wrong with quite". Going again tonite when WIFEY gets done teachin.
BRENT, sorry for the PILE UP. Maybe nose is an improvement?
ROY, I'll be there at YORK. Gotta go online and register.
BUCKEYE, watch your topknot.
FIFE, 17weeks?
JACK, keep pacin yourself.
CHUCK, polish up that CANNON and send some down South.
Stay frosty my friends,
Morning guys. Cloudy, windy, cold and damp. Stinks out there. The crud is kicking my butt this morning. Been over a week now. Brent one of the nice things about today’s cars, they can save lives. Glad your okay. Sorry about the car.......My daughters Taurus saved her a few years back… On the other hand I saw something on the news yesterday about how out east Ins premiums can jump as much as 74% for one claim and up 46% here in the Midwest. Get ready for that!

Good morning all,
Brent, glad you are OK. Too bad you couldn't salvage those new tires but I suppose the insurance company or somebody along the line will. Can't see putting new tires through a car crusher. However, I remember a wreck on the railroad where a lot of new Cadillacs were involved and they just crushed them all and put in an empty gondola car.
Yesterday was a trying day for me like trying to put 10LBS in a 5 LB bag. Took wife for her physical therapy. Just prior to that got a referral from the neurologist to another doctor and it upset my wife. She took it badly so had to back off and put some things on hold. Will talk to all involved soon and see if we can iron this out. She had a bad attitude at the therapy session so I slipped a note to the person taking care of her explaining what the problem was. She has a regular doctor appointment next week. Bottom line is just too many things to do in a short time but she needs all of them.
Thinking about selling most of my train collection because I don't have time anymore to deal with it. Checking out prices on the bay to see what things are going for. I was surprised on some of it that it was doing as well as it was.
later,
Ray

Brent, glad to hear you are ok. Cars can be replaced, you can not. Work was quiet today, but some aspects were challenging in a good way. Saw a reference to a new Lionel catalog appearing online Monday. Also on Lionel's Facebook page, there was a new Polar Express mail car that will be mine when it is available (very nice). Quiet evening at home as well. Weather was miserable on my walk today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Cloudy, crummy, windy day here today. Temp. was about 40, but there was a pretty good wind making it feel much cloder than what it was.
Bummer on your car, Brent. Glad to hear that you are realitively undamaged.
Got back from a business trip to Windsor, Canada this week. Business part of the trip went OK. Had to cut it short, though. When I called my wife Tuesday night to find out that the doctor put her on some heavy duty meds to treat her sore leg. It appears that she has another pinched nerve. She had an appointment at the imaging center yesterday, so ws should know something soon.
We had some pork loins wrapped in bacon tonight. I fired the grill up, put them on, then went inside to cook the rest of the meal. Back outside a little later to turn them only to discover that the propane had run out! Took them inside and finished tham off on the George Foreman grill. Re-filling the propane bottles is now on the to-do list this weekend.
All for now.
Mornin' bo--yoyz. Whoa, Brent, what's with the face? Leave it, chicks dig wounds. Walk around the house going, "Yo, Adrienne..." Seriously, glad you're ok.
Last night on-the-road tonight. Woke up with mixed thoughts. 15 weeks to go.
Scale show this weekend @ Timonium.
SPMan - Any 19th century era stuff....?
Morning all!
Sunny and cool this morning. Rain tomorrow.
Dinner out with neighbors tonight.
fifedog Scale show this weekend @ Timonium.
I'll be there tomorrow when the doors open. Gotta pick Ms Kelly up @ noon. Not sure if I'm returning Sunday, but since you will be in the neighborhood, stop on by.
Enough already!
So I guess it is our turn. Weather guessers are calling for a min of 4.5" to a max of 12.5" of the white stuff starting tomorrow night.
A bit less for Doug.
So I go into the basement this morning to get the softener salt bags to put into the trash and the basement is flooded.
Seems last night when the grand kids and I were running the trains the little guy pulled the trash pump cord out of the socket and both the sand filter and the water softener did re gen cycles last night and all of the discharge water,,,,,well lets just say a mess. Missed most of the carpet and I managed to squeegee most of the water back into the sump pit and the trash pit. I have a fan and the De-humidifyer running and it is drying up. Heck of a way to make me clean the basement floor.
Going to look into one of those water alarms now.

Hello there,
Been a long week. Dad's funeral was Monday. Tuesday was spent dealing with a 2 million+bid on a project I'd love to land . Wednesday I stayed home and started to get dad's stuff in order. Yesterday and today was catch up at work.

Hello all
Back for another week on the mountain. We are in the process of getting better than one ft of snow.
Got the frame ends finished and the bumper installed and levelled on the 'A' end of the Brill trolley. Next time we will hopefully finish the work on the 'B' end. It's been fun trying to stay out of the way of the guys working on the electrical.
Drive train came out of the Corvan and was re-installed w/ the correct clutch parts. We now have shift and clutch. Got the bench seat disassembled and off to the powder coaters. Apparrently it was a home for a pack rat for some time so the springs have a bit of surface rust. Got in the suspension parts for the 4dr but have yet to install them.
Also got a new 'roomate'. This time it is a Flat Rock scorpion. He was making himself a home before I left to come back to work.

TGIF....From the land of the Chiefie. Head back to beautiful Ohio tomorrow am.
Great day at work. The coworker who is a pain was not there today, and I solved 2 issues programmatically. Weather could have been better for my walk outside. Tonight at home was great as well. Watched an English Premiere League match that I had taped and then Grimm. It was a good day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Sun and 22 degrees
First real snow expected tomorrow through Monday morning. You are all invited over to watch the Super bowl game. Oh yeah if you don't mind bring shovels, chips, dip, drinks, chili and pizza.

Afternoon all!
SJ - don't start without me...
Assisted daughter this morning. Her pup apparently has a bladder infection so met her at the vet since she has to work and we brought the pup and meds to our house. May have the pup spend the night since we have a yard to let the pup run to vs her getting the pup out of the apartment.
Cloudy cold and waitin for the rain to show up. Same weather that hit Phoenix the last couple of days.
V8 Dennis, glad you are getting some good out of the fellowship at your church. I have a widower friend who would benefit from something like that. Our church has some things but probably not as much as yours. Meanwhile, he goes out to eat with us a lot. I don't mind but it's getting too repetitious. He wants to go every weekend. He needs more friends than me.
I noticed lately on my statement from my credit card company that they no longer show the total air miles I have accumulated accept for the current month. It used to be on the statement. I have tried accessing American Airlines on the internet but so far have not found the right website to get the information I want.
I am watering my yard manually now since my sprinkler pipe broke. Very time consuming having to move sprinkler so often. Got a call in for a guy to check out my broken pipe and estimate cost of a fix.
Fife, don't have any 18th century trains unless the MTH early American open end wood passenger cars would fall into that catagory but I plan on keeping those.
That's ok, SPMan.
Oldest princess was trying to win me a Halloween 1882 general on ebay this evening. It went for $350, which was 100+ more than I was willing to shell out.
Did pick up another 3656 cattle car (ARMOUR version) for $20 at the show, along with some second hand station buildings.
A good day. Scored a couple of items at a train show. Got some books at Barnes and Noble, and nice socks at the Carrhart store. Had a nice visit with grandkids. Got the latest Train magazine on Friday. Looks good as well. Weather could be interesting the next day or two. I hope everyone has a good day.
