Well finally got the engines in around 3P.M. different mailman so he must of got stuck with 2 routes. The only problem I see is I'm going to have to drill nose holes on the Lionel 1998 to get it to fit or 3rd option is sell the shell as a shell on ebay and get another shell that I know will work. Been a pretty good day today. Need to get some of the aluminum tape like they use as need to tape some things in place and like the reflective from the tape. ( need to goto lowes tomorrow anyway tomorrow if I can. Was right next to it this evening but car was full of groceries so didn't want to put 1" x 4" x 8' boards on top of that. )
I didn't realize when I bought those trains from the chief he was selling for his friend in TX that the aluminum passengers wasn't aluminum in color plastic shells on those williams but actual aluminum shells on those cars so need to build a shelf to put that set on along with some other trains too so need to do like another 5 or 6 shelves after that not sure where I will put shelves lol. Well just answered that question I have room here in the new computor room lol ( If she doesn't have a cow )
Well continuing prayers for tyler, BOC, brutus dog chewy and all else who may or may not need them.

Good Evening All!
As most of you know SANDY IS COMING! We winterized the back yard today, furniture stored away in the shed, gazebo put away, etc... Latest info shows a good chance it hits landfall here in Ocean County. Since HudsonJohn is 5 blocks to the east of me, he gets it first so I'm counting on you for a warning
All kidding aside, we get these about once a year and we can only hope it will be no worse than last year. Irene gave us a lot of rain and wind but aside from some downed trees we did ok.
Had to take my wife to the cemetery this morning as it's two years ago he passed. He was 48 years old. The whole family was there and later we all went for breakfast at a local diner.
Banks - Congrats on the grand daughter! Nice to have a little one around to steal all the attention.
BOC - for your battle again.
Laz - Hope you get just a good breeze and some rain.
Fife - I bet your pulling in your yachtet. Good luck with this storm.
Later.

Aloha from a sunny, cool autumn day. Congratulations Banks! Prayers for protection from Sandy. Had a nice if late evening at a former freight house turned art gallery up in Harvard, right along the tracks. I was less interested in the art than in finding out the provence of the building.

Lunch Time:
It is the calm before the storm. 65 and 11 mph ENE winds, 68% humidity. I have been doing aerial lift dielectric testing. Have to record the weather.
Sp Ray, I agree with you about smoking. Lost relatives and friends to it.
Brutus, Get well.
Jeffrey, be careful around your service line.
Chief, thanks for the well wishes. The guys and myself are tired of the OT. We knew that when we took the job. But it adds to my pension and 401K. The key is to stay focused and work safe. A routine look up can be a disaster especially in the rain and dark.
Laz, How close are you to the snow line that the weather maps are showing? good Luck and stay safe.
Thoughts and prayers to all in need!
Morning all. Was up late on the tardis last night. charlie and SJ bailed out close to there normal time a little late for them to thou and then brutus and I took turns doing loops and dive bombs with it till we heard something go clank so will have to look at it this afternoon I guess. That was about 1:30 am eastern time. Expecting my 2 Santa-Fe Gp-20 and the shell from the one will fit the present one I believe but not sure the Lionel 1998 will mount to the Santa-Fe frame thou not sure if it has holes for bottom mount time will see should be here this am/early afternoon
BOC Prayers for you buddy you can beat this. It sounds like you have good DR.s as there on top of this it appears. Hang in there Guy.
sir james I I have switched to flannel shirts as of this morning. We don't have any warm weather left on the weather chart.
I have switched to flannel shirts as of this morning. We don't have any warm weather left on the weather chart.
So right SJ, meee tooo, flannels are out and shorts are put away.
Morning guys,
Watch out, out there on the right coast, stay safe witht he big blow from Sandy.
Banks, Congrats on the new addition, Grand Daughters are great.
I was at Menards the other day and saw one of the Menard's Cycle Shops like in last months CTT. VEARY VEARY COOL, Now if I just had some more real estate and the $100.00 I would suck one up for sure. Very nice detail. The photo in CTT did not do it justice. There is much more detal in the yard around it than you could see in that picture. Woodland Scenics did a great job on this.
Well off to the town of Henry to pick up an old AC D14 tractor the neighbor is getting to restore.
Have a great day.
Prayers for all of us and those in need.

Morning. Sandy making things windy and wet on the coast. We have clouds and some breezes. Actually need some of the rains. We may not got much water. I 95 east will get most of it. Not good for the farmers picking cotton and soybeans [just getting ready to combine].
Now saying Sandy will become a stronger storm as it goes to NY, NJ and PA. John will get more overtime than he wants. Prayers it does not do much damage.
Halloween for the kids in the park this afternoon if not raining. Should have been canceled but one stuborn person says no. We'll see.

LAZ.... I need to change the roller pickups on my set of Williams Budd cars. I just recieved them from Williams. Those cars run on Gargraves track and I noticed they were getting grooved out. You can see sparks when they go past. About 5 years of running did it.
I noticed that the GG-1, which runs on tubular track, mostly, are not grooved out. I keep all the rollers on my engines well lubricated, so they roll good.

Hi GUYZ,
Awaiting SANDY. Not SANDY EGGO but the big surge o storm that PA. has a big bullseye on our back.. Got all outdoor furniture taken in and sucked up a truckload of leaves yesterday. Got them outta here and now its just the waiting game. I wanted to get a generator but was awaiting January to get one. Now you can't find one. Oh well cross the fingers and hope all goes well. Ran trains last nite for two hrs NO PILE UPs all ran well. Was a cool site pulling my 12 Reading & Northern 4 bay hoppers with the NS Genset, whilst two MTH T1 in Reading and Reading Blue Mt. were on the other tracks. Gotta start on some scenery this January. Hope to get lites installed and lots o work done thia winter.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a rainy 52 degrees. Going up to 64 today with more rain.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I will relax. Maybe do some reading. I have a small train project to work on. I will probably take a nap this afternoon.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Good morning. It's 44° with 100% humidity. It'll be mostly sunny with a high of 62°.I didn't get much sleep last night, a couple of hours at best. Around 10:45-11:15 last night a tree fell in my yard and pulled down the power line and TV cable. It also snapped my service pole off at the ground. The power and cable however are still on and functional at this time. The power company was called last night. I expect them to show up sometime today to cut the power. The question now is where am I going to get a new service pole? Later this morning I'll move the sparse contents of my fridge down to my parents place. I also have medication that must be kept refrigerated. Other than that there's not much that needs to be done. I'll still be able to access the forum from my parents place. I have an old computer set up there.

Good Morning....
I'm up and getting a few things cleaned up in here...all kinds of rain has been falling on our'n heads here and, of course, with Sandy getting ready to to do her thing I'll be watching my inland lake/ocean thing here...in fact, our neighbour to the other side of the crescent has already been seen creating a canal so the water can have somewhere else to go other than straight through my front yard...
Our forecast has us getting at least one more day of good ol' fashioned downpour city...a small sunny break or two on Sunday..then, right back to the swing of things with a few inches of rain...oh...and wind....
Well, with the generator here all prepped and at the ready...we'll see what happens around here...everyone be careful!!!

Well even though it was very painful I had to get out to take care of a dangerous situation. A tree came down on my power and cable lines and snapped the service pole off at the ground. So now the lines are down but I still have power and cable. However the lines are hanging low over the road. I tied a couple of white T shirts and a couple of those snap-lite green safety lights (those break and shake things) on the lowest line so they can at least be seen. The power company has been called (niece called) but they probably won't be here until morning. Seems if it's not one thing it's another. Old Murphy definitely seems to be getting his jollies!
BANKS! Congrats to you and your expanding family, man! Our best to you and your grandchild!
BoC - prayers for you man!
Have been getting a cold for the past few days - seems like last night was pretty bad, coughing and ran a temp. Woke up in a bad way and took the day off. I goofed off and watched some tv shows etc, took a nice nap. Went out to get some medicine for Chewy and take my son to the store, but other than that just took it easy.
Prayers for us all and our intentions. TARDIS is ready, so let's get going!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
I've been inside all day today. Woke up this morning with bad pain in my ankle. As much as I was on my feet yesterday I wasn't surprised. It only got worse as the morning went on so it was imperative I stay off my feet as much as possible. Well my father calls a little before noon to tell me he's leaving for work soon and will I come down to keep an eye on my mother. I told him no and why. He says all I have to do is sit with her. Well it's not that simple. It's constantly get up and get this, do that or go here or there. So no, I didn't go down there. Good thing too. By 1pm I was having a hard time getting from my bedroom to my kitchen, a distance of about ten feet. Add four feet to get to the computer chair. This is bone pain that I'm feeling and it is intense. I seriously doubt I could have stepped down the front steps. I'm not quite as sore now. Will I be able to get out tomorrow? That's a good question. Even if I can I probably won't. This needs some time heal. If he doesn't like that it's just too bad. My health is more important to me. I don't need another bout with osteomyelitis.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Home!!! Cloudy and real warm all day. Cotton pickers going strong. Then the rain hit about 30 minutes before dark. Got soaked. Breaking down rifle and cleaning. No deer. All on trail camera at night. All they leave us is tracks in the morning.
Here is some photos of my trail camera under a bucket feeder hanging in a leaning tree. The dates are not right. This is where I was hunting this afternoon about 1 mile into the woods. My stand is 50 yds from this feeder.
Hello all
Fairly quiet day today. Met a candidate for the director of Mt. Graham International Observatory (the guys who run the basecamp) and found out I have a flat tire on the university vehicle Guess I'll have to deal w/ that before I drive home next week.
I guess the two people who looked at the house on Wed. are coming back for a second look. Must be bringing the other half or something. Who knows, I could be out of there before the end of the year.
All you folks back east. Take care in that storm. We keep several weather maps open on the computer screens here and it looks like you're going to get squeezed in between a front coming in from the midwest and the hurricane. Good thing the Chief went hunting instead of deep sea fishing off Cape Hatteras. Better vote early I imagine. Be interesting to see if this has an effect on the election. So much for all the electronic voting machines!
Anj - did you find any new wheels yet?
BOC - continued prayers
Anybody heard from Joe D.?
Nothing new on the train front other than I will probably be packing most of them up soon. Still need to sell the Willaims NW2 switcher. Nice engine, but a bit big for my 0-27 setup.

Banks, congrats on your new grand daughter!
Good evening all,
Got home today and the December CTT was there. What a great issue!!!! Standard gauge layout, Marx clockwork set article, AF collector set, classic Lionel display layout section, and a segment on one of the last surviving major postwar Lionel personnel are all featured. This was what made CTT great in the past and perhaps could make it even more enjoyable in the future. The length and breadth of the toy train world did not start in 1945 and end in 1969. There was even a discussion of Lionel starter sets in the 70s and 80s in the Underground column. This is what we need. Two thumbs up! Congrats to Banks on new grandchild as well!!!
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Banks, congrats on the new grand daughter. And to the parents as well.
It is 49 and still overcast, temp didn't move much today. Two homemade waffles for supper , no banilla yet but I got plenty for the thingy crew...S.J.
Home for now!
Banks: Congratulations on the birth of your Grand daughter.
Rich, Good Luck with the weather. Next week you can get a generator cheap after all that are brought back where they were bought. They were all sold out yesterday at Home Depot in Manahawkin, according to News 12. A friendworks at Lowes and we laugh about after every storm how many come back.
My wife and I are going out to dinner tonight and spend a quiet evening at home. A bottle of wine, some cheese, pepperoni and crackers.
Be careful with the storm. Do not under estimate it.
RT, V8, et al, I quit smoking five years ago after being hospitlized for emergency abdominal surgery. I was in the hospital for five days so I already had a head start on quiting. Also, I had to be on oxygen for a while 24/7 so it would have been crazy to smoke anyway without blowing myself up. The surgery was a blessing in disguise or I might not have quit when I did. Cigarettes out here are about 4.50 to $5 per pack now. I did put on a lot of weight too after quiting. Probably about 50 lbs which I'm still trying to work off.
V8, you're right about attititutes toward smoking in years past. The movies glorified it. Humphrey Bogart looked like a chain smoker and it finally did him in. Even my doctor smoked during the 60's. Anyone who takes it up in this day and age is just plain nuts. I just lost another old friend whom I met in the late 50's. He had Lou Gehrigs disease for the past three years but kept on smoking until the end. Guess he figured he had nothing to lose. Sad ending though. Another close friends wife, a smoker, just had surgery last week to remove part of one lung due to cancer. It's catching up with a lot of people I know. Three sisters all had lung cancer. One died, one had lung removed, third one is surviving for now diagnosed with stage 4 *** cancer.
Need to get my house trim painted if I can find a good guy to do it. Also the whole garage needs it too. Wish I had Chief's energy. I just did a little work yesterday cleaning out an old berry vine near the new fence and my back is still complaining from bending over.
Jeffrey, sounds like you did a good job taking care of your mom when her blood sugar was too high. That's pretty scary.
Prayers for those in the path of the storm

Good Afternoon.......
Spent the morning looking for a generator for one of my ex's and her hubby....they live outside Asbury Park. None to be had and none to be delivered until Tuesday.......crazy...the irony is I just got coupons for a generator at Harbor Freight......
At drill last night we were told that we can expect upwards of 15" of rain, Irene-esc weather and flooding. My Fire Chief has already stated that "There is no way in F*in H*ll I'm rebuilding this fire house again!". We JUST got new furniture on Wednesday...go figure. On the bright side, we just got a new boat.....
So we are on emergency standby Monday night/Tuesday morning.....I may just stay in my bed until they need me this time, or just bring my queen air mattress....
Cloudy and in the 60's again today......
Blown Out - a minor bump on the road..... for your quick recovery!

BOC you CAN lick this.
Everybody here is freaking out over the pending storm "Worst since Agnes in '72" or "In the top 15 weather events of the last 100 years" we shall see. I remember Agnes. There was severe flooding. They closed the gates on the recently completed Raystown Dam well ahead of schedule They say the damage it saved downstream more than paid for the new dam. I will batten down what is lose and hope for the best.
I quit smoking near 30 years ago(don't remember the year) I was near 2 packs a day. Tried the gum but it gave me nausea so I went cold turkey. I would absent mindedly reach for a smoke for many years afterward.

DJ, I sent you a message.
Lunch Time from Storm Central:
We are in full storm mode now. Mandatory OT! Working 8 tomorrow and beginning Sunday 16 hr days. We have crews on their way as far as Texas. So much for an easy last 35 days!
The projected path of Sandy is a direct hit on NJ. The local TV station projected the hit at Long Beach Island, Ocean County. The storm coupled with the full moon and high tide equals FLOODING.
Thankfully my son is getting everything ready and I have never flooded. We have to be watchful for the trees and I have many big oaks.
DJ, what a time to move back to Wayne.
Prayers for all affected by the storm and all that are in need.
Good afternoon all,
Cold, cloudy, and miserable in SE Indiana. Did nothing last night. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
