Good morning everyone.  Been absent for the past week.  I had photographed my daughter's recital rehearsal last week and had to edit the photos to give the ballet studio.  As it turned out, I had over 4,000 usable photos.  Then, the actual recital was this weekend and I did some group shots and helped film the recital for the production company.  This was on top of my regular work, which kept me quite busy.

Happy birthday Doug! Hope you have a great day.

We have been getting a fair amount of rain  lately, so I hope to get several trees in the ground this week.  My back has been in pain so I have not done it yet....anyone wanna make some side money?

Hope I didn't miss too much over the last week.  Too many pages to go back on.  Pray that everyone is doing well.

God bless

Dennis

Good night.  Been raining since early evening.  Dentist apt early this AM.

Heard there was a gas grill explosion in IL earlier today.  Brutus was drinking Jeffrey's moonshine and hurt his back.  Got to keep an eye on that Carpetbagger from the Bronx living in FL.

Sleep tight.

John,

               Happy B-Day

Rich,

Open the Bascule Bridge's gearbox and clean it out and put some fresh grease in there.  The top of the box is held on with a few screws, and they can be removed with the bridge's structure in place.  The grease that is in there now is probably solid, and the motor doesn't need to be overloaded anymore than it is normally since it is undersized for the heavy span.  Oil all bearings and pivot points, and give the motor a thorough cleaning.

The counterbalancing spring will also need to be adjusted.  Let me know when you are ready for that.Wink  I've done battle with these 313's before.

Hope everybpdy had a good Mother's Day.

Was a nice day here, so my wife and I went out for lunch, stopped at a box store to buy her the traditional Mother's Day present of Boston firns for the front porch, then took a short bike ride on the KATY Trail.  First time my wife has been on a bike since she was in college.  She said that the ride did not bother her knee or back.  Looking forward to more rides.

A bunch of stuff came in at the LHS last week.  Some rolling stock and the All Hallow's Eve locomotive.   I was planning on posting pictures on SPF, but spent most of yesterday at work.  I'll try to post next week.

Lost about 10 pounds whith the bug I picked up on Easter.  Trying to keep that going.

Prayers for healing and happy birthdays for those I missed.

All for now.

Time for me to call it a night. Mowed the parents yard this morning then came back home and got some rest. Later I did some work on my current project. A 70's era Athearn GP35 painted in GT colors. Yep, one of the old wide hood units. It was pretty much stock mechanically when I got hold of it. Since then the old black ring magnet motor, spline shafts and coffee grinder trucks with their sintered iron wheels have been relegated to the junk box. In their place are are Proto 2000 motor and flywheels from an FA1, a pair of Proto 1000 Blomberg trucks with nickel silver wheels and a pair of drive shafts made from Proto and Athearn parts. The last thing done to it today was to patch the shell for the L&A. It sounded like a rolling coffee grinder when I got it. Now it's as quiet as any of my Atlas locos.

See y'all tomorrow.

Happy Birthday John!

Well I stepped in a hole and staggered yesterday working on the yard, pulled a muscle in my back and my hammy a little bit.  Later it all tightened up - oh boy.  I woke up in terrible pain about 3:30, took some Aleve and slept in the recliner with a pillow in my back until it finally let go.  I was in a lot better shape this morning and tonight I'm just a little sore.  Have to watch that stuff.

Today we met my folks, my sister MB and her hubby, and my brother John and we all went to a steak house.  They put us at 2 separate tables, which was too bad.  Nice to see everyone and it was a good Mother's Day celebration.

TARDIS Is ready and we have a full crew running tonight, so let's get going guys!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all!

Had a great Mothers Day today! Got up early, made bacon, toast, scrambled eggs with cheese. Went to church. Hit the mall. Relaxed at home for a bit and then the family went to a nice dinner (steak, crabcakes, and son had lobster with his steak). Now watching the conclusion of Desparate Housewives (pretty funny - for once). Oh - and lots o' flowers and cards sealed the deal today!

John - Angel

Have a great evening all!

Regards, Roy

Evenin' All.

Hope all the Moms & Grannies out there had a great day. Went well here, Daughter & Grandson came out for a few hours this afternoon to honor to the "better half". Got some taters baking to go with a couple of nice rib eyes for dinner. Dinner

Boy was yesterday a long one, last minute operator cancellations so a couple of us spent the day from 6am to 5pm running trains. Unfortunately what made it so long was the gremlins messing with DCS ops. Bang Head The museum sponsored a "swap meet/sale" prior to opening, didn't see anything I couldn't live w/o plus it was predominantly HO or N.

Payers for all in need, got to get back to the kitchen.

Well I got my parents yard mowed. The front wasn't too bad but the back was almost a hayfield. I windrowed the clippings into rows every ten rows apart so they could be collected easily. I'm not going to collect them. Not my job. Now as for this afternoon, the bed is looking really good.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers....male or female....Laugh

Beautiful day on tap here in the Delaware Valley.  Up to 80 and SUN!!!  Smells like Harley weather for sure.  Mom is not here, She is with Dad on the Inner Banks, enjoying 5 days with out us and stress.

Was told by Princess that her Mom has sent her tickets to FLA, leaving in June and returning in July.  I'm not happy about this, as I explained that early August was more opportune to do so.  Mom, in her wisdom, has screwed this up.  Not sure what to do next.  But, Princess has finished her freshman college year and 2 courses on tap for July and early August.

Later in the evening I think, I'm going to break out the Bascule Bridge and ZW and see if both are working.  These are part of the items Dad has left for me.  I just to see what they need (the bridge will most likely need a cleaning and lube,,,

Rangers v Devils tomorrow.....Let's Go Devils!!!!

Good morning all!

Happy Mothers Day! Make the most of it!

Jack - I hear you. And I think, unless things turn around soon, you're in for a long season. I think last September was a bad omen and doomed to repeat itself because of many things. One of which is your manager. He just doesn't impress me at all. I watched him up close and heard him often when he managed the Mets. Heard him weekly.

When the leadership supports thier players in the media I take it with a grain of salt. I can't believe that they are ok with it behind closed doors.

Another problem you have is when some of the players with high contracts don't take a leadership role. They NEED to be a role model for EVERYONE on the team. This is true in every walk of life and when that breaks down.....watch out!

Well, try and ejoy the games anyway.

Later,

Ray

Happy B-Day John Hudson

hey All got the NS Dash 8 all up and running in tmcc. Engine is 20 years old and basiclly new out of box I had previously when I go t it about 6 months ago put it on track to make sure it ran. and that was about 1 minute of run time only. Its doing well now It along with my GG-1 scale PRR 5 stripe will be a good contender to pull my atlas cars once I get it and convert it to tmcc also.

Well hope all have a good day and Happy mothers day to all our mothers especially those who suport our intrest what ever they shall be.

Jack - I feel the same way you do about wanting to beat a team at full strength. But years late, who will remember unless you're a fan of the team. Having Mo and Joba out really hurts our bullpen and I was really counting on Michael Pineda this year to be our #2 or #3 pitcher and he's gone for the year. Oh well!

Later All,

Ray

Ray.......our starting rotation from the season opener to date has remained relatively unchanged and healthy, and yet we have the highest ERA for the starting rotations in the Majors, I think.  What's our excuse?  Have you seen our payroll?!?

A youngster up from the minors started last night for the Red Sox, pitched 6+, and only gave up one earned run.  He gets paid relative chicken feed.

I say trade the high paid spoiled rotten starters, eat the salary, and acquire some players who want to work and excel for a living.

Beckett, our alleged "ace," is a disgrace.  He was kept out of his last start due to a strained oblique muscle.  What did he do?  Get therapy and rest? Nope.  He promptly used his unscheduled day off to go golfing!!!!  His response about the golf escapade to the media after getting mega-shelled in his next start Friday night?  "We players deserve a day off."

He's the same knucklehead who along with a couple of others got caught drinking beer and eating fried chicken in the locker room during a game in the midst of last September's total collapse.  Did he learn his lesson?  Not a lick.  This is the "fine" example the older players with guaranteed contracts are setting for the younger ones on the team.

Where is the manager all the way up to the GM and President during all of this????  Remaining outwardly supportive of the players despite their blatant disregard for the players' responsibilities to the team and to the fans who are paying for this!!!!

I'd fry them privately and I'd fry them in the press, then I'd start benching them.  Make it difficult for them to appear in public!!!!  I would shame them, guilt them, humiliate them, and make life as difficult on them as I possibly could.

I can imagine what my wife would say.  "Jack!!!  Could you please explain to me why on earth you would go golfing when you were given the opportunity to heal and to rest?  What were you thinking?  Life isn't all about you!!!  I have to live in this town too, as do our children.  Start thinking about your responsibilities to me and to your children if you profess your family comes first!!!"  Then my wife would say to me some things not suitable to a family forum such as this. Happy birthday Hudson John.

Good morning. It's 64° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 82° and it'll be partly cloudy.

Looks like I'll be able to mow the grass today. There's no mention of rain in the forecast until Tuesday. As for the rest of the day, no plans as of yet.
