Good Evening

It has been something of a productive day...I got home in the early afternoon and did discover that Audrey had a small HD list for me..mostly outdoor backyard cleanup..I did not mind as I was out in the sun and enjoyed every minute of it....Mischief...the scenery looked very good....Whistling

Oh..and I got to run my trains again tonight...and no accidents, derailments, head on collisions, gone to ground thingees occurred .....Whistling

59 now, 67 earlier.

RT you've been busy today. The TTOS show was a thumbs down, a lot of empty tables but the regulars were there with there 1980 prices. I talked to # 1 son this PM, he was cleaning house while his wife was cleaning dads house, they have relatives coming from out of town. A sandwich this afternoon and Banilla tonight. that was my day...S.J.

Ohayō,

It was about 29˚ F when I went for my six-mile run this morning.  Since then it has warmed up and it is very sunny.  The high today will be around 55˚ F.  I don’t have too many pressing issues at work today so I may leave early and take the older boy to the baseball field for some practice.  He hasn’t fielded grounders or shagged any fly balls in a few months so he may have some cobwebs to shake off.  We don’t change the clocks in Japan so I am now only 13 hours ahead of the east coast.

SJ – I thought that was yours.  It is a very nice looking engine and it appeared to run great.

Dennis – Having Adrian Rodgers’s sermons and notes available would be an awesome resource to have.  Who is working on it?

Kev – I don’t have the Rio Grande set, but I do have The Nutcracker Route set which has the same type of locomotive.  The General is a pretty cool engine.  I know of one eBay seller who usually has good prices on set breakups.  I sent you the info in a private message.

RT – The commemorative plate is pretty neat.

Sayonara,

Joe

Evening all,

Sorry it's been a long time since my last posting, I've just been very busy with school and work. I started spring break Friday, and I kicked it off by spending the day trackside in Harrisburg. It was nice to be with some good friends for the day, and sitting trackside was an added bonus! I got home later than I was planning on, but I didn't have a problem with it at all. Yesterday morning I met a few friends and we headed to the outdoor shooting range to shoot some clays. It was a lot of fun, I haven't shot clays since last summer! A few of us went to Old City for dinner and drinks last night and that was a lot of fun as well. We started the night at National Mechanics which is a pretty good place and then made our way to another bar, which I can't remember the name of. I didn't get back to my friends house until around 3am and woke up around 8am to go home to get ready for work. I was a little hungover but it worked itself out later in the day. I'm headed to bed now, I'm still pretty exhausted.

Night guys.

Good evening everyone.  Was a nice afternoon with the nap and some Lionel Nation on RFD-TV that I had DVRed.  Church was great, I had to jump on a camera I rarely use as the normal operator for that one was sick.

Ray, we have a very complicated, but good lighting system.  We have everything individually controlled at the light board computerized system.  It is very expensive, so we had to do it in stages.  If your church does production for broadcast, they need the lighting a bit brighter to make the lighting look good on TV.  You need a well controlled balance of bright at the pulpit and toned down in the rest of the worship center.

Joe, I know our pastor and some other key leaders that were in that group were working on these efforts.  Some material is being done on web sites for free access and some is being compiled for book form. I am not sure who is publishing the print form, they have worked with Holman and also Lifeway.  I will ask around.

Brutus, glad you are on the mend.  I have had to work through that junk and it was rough.

Gotta run, I pray that everyone has a blessed week ahead.

Dennis

It's a late sign-off for me. One of the storms passing through earlier knocked out the cable service to this area so everyone out here who has cable internet was off line until about a half hour ago. That was around 5:45 pm. Anybody needing rain water for anything, get your tank car down here. Rain is forecast for the next couple of days and after a short break it looks like we're in for a week of rain from the 17th to the 23rd. The lake is already overfull and water is roaring over the spillway. I can hear it from here and the spillway is almost half a mile away.

See y'all tomorrow.

50's and drizzles today.

Blownout Cylinder - That's why they called him 'Wild' Willy.  Didn't he hang on to the roll cage with one hand and steer with the other?

Ran some trains today.  My N&W J Class was intermitant on the trainsounds.  Turns out the transmitter and receiver on the tetherless connection between the tender and locomotive were not lined up very well.  Tweaked the height of the drawbars and solved the problem.

All for now.

Mornin' Fellas

Sore, sore, sore... installed hardwood flooring in our Family Room over the past 4 days. Looks nice, but I am sore!

Hope to finish laying the tile in the kitchen today to patch where the railing used to be, then grout it Wednesday night, and install the last piece of threshold Wednesday night as well, have to cut and install one last piece of 1/4 round in front of the fireplace then do some touchup paint and this project will be complete.

Hope to take a 1/2 day on Friday... we'll see.

Aloha. Wet, grey and warm in Chicago this am. Missed my usual train. Lost an umbrella to the 'breeze. Started the day damp and somewhat tousled.  Ah well. It was a fine commute working out an Ivor the Engine layout scheme just for fun. Sending  all the weather muck on to Points East. This is a week that the bride will be all in planning a birthday party for her mom. I will try to lay low and out of the way. I now realize I can't add photos unless they sit somewhere as images - which Shutterfly and surprisingto-me Flickr doesn't easily do.

Brent,
the family room looks great. Brutus, glad you're finally on the mend. Joe, glad you could see the photo as a link. The youngest was climbing over the crawl space Sat. night 'fixing' things on the layout.  Ray, there are dimmable CFLs for large scale settings like churches. The ones our church uses are huge but riggged very high -since our church buidling was a warehouse, so they set the mood.

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana.  Oldest daughter was down yesterday with her family.  She and wife and  girls went to a baby shower.  Ran trains, played foosball, and played with a wooden train set with grandson.  Watched "Once Upon a Time" and 'Desperate Housewives".  Both were good.  Long day.  Had bran muffin on dining car.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning. It's 67° and partly cloudy. The high will be 78° with a 20% chance of thunderstorms.

My father has something planned this morning so any plans I might have been thinking of have been moved to this afternoon. I'll know what they are as soon as I think of them.

Aloha. Wet, grey and warm in Chicago this am. Sun is coming out here in North Central IL.

Missed my usual train. Doug Blame it on the time change.

I now realize I can't add photos unless they sit somewhere as images - which Shutterfly and surprising to-me Flickr doesn't easily do.

Doug, I use Shutterfly and it is easy just click on the picture in Shutterfly and copy, then paste it to the forum post.

Must be warm, the cat wanted out. Nothing much on the plate for today.

I did not think it was going to rain last night. If I had I would of left Moma’s planter in the shed to dry more.  Surprise

Joe and SJ got your PMs thanks.

Chief , I have a nice low budget 9mm carbine from High Point with a red dot mounted on it, works good, fun gun you don’t have to worry about. Got it in a package deal with my SW 686-1 357

Good Mornin' Y'all From Crystal Clear Taxachusetts,

Now 3 days behind on the POT!!  Bang Head  Got 2 inches of the white stuff overnight into Saturday and decided snow removal this time would be left up to the Powers from above.  Smile, Wink & Grin  Thank you guys points West and Southwest of my place for sending me this unseasonally warm weather.  Another record high for this March 12 day (69 in 1902) is on tap for today.  Yesterday hit 69, temperatures (naturally) 3 degrees above the prognostications of our zillion dollar meteorologists.  I've got it down now: the sun rises in the East and nearly as dependable is an inaccurate forecast.  OK, I'll give them a break and concede at least it didn't snow  Laugh

Chuck.........had to laugh when you noted the daughter's car broke down and the scheduled visit to your domicile cancelled.  Our kids are trained.  It's OK for their car to break down, but don't call us to borrow one of ours.  The answer was, is, and always be an emphatic "NO !!!!!!!!!!  Learn to be self sufficient!!!!  We don't come running to you when something automotive goes South on our end.  Learn from us!!!"  Big Smile

SJ........you have my prayers for your the loss of your DIL's mother. Thumbs Up on the Warhorse J class!  From the sounds of things, your wifey is giving you far too much freedom to wander away from home to these train events.  How does she know if one of these days the horse will not return to the barn? Whistling

JoeyD........a 6 mile run?  Are you in training for the next tsunami?  The news media here has been providing a somber retrospective and a prospective on that terrible event.  Re the ground balls and shagging some fly balls with your boy, better make sure the little guy is wearing a helmet and a mouth guard or your better half will be suspending all baseball privileges.  You know how mothers are.  They don't understand how much more quickly a child learns from fatherly instruction through trial, error, and a bonk on the head.  Big Smile

Blownout........thanks again for the pictures.  Thumbs UpThey bring back fond memories from 50-60 years ago for me when I was a kid.  I am no expert, but that chopped coupe with the fender skirts looks so similar to one I spent my summers drooling over (sight and sound) which was owned by the next door neighbors to my grandparents in the relative wilds of Northern Wisconsin back in the mid 1950s.  That isn't a black Mercury with a flathead V8 and lake pipes, but close enough.  What is it?  Nice picture of Spring the cat!  BTW.....get well!

RT........nice picture of Chalrlie the cat!  We (dog) train with a guy with a rescued Doberman that has a jagged, wicket looking scar down the dog's entire back.  rescue organization not sure how he got it but when the new owner  got the dog it was all healed, looks like the pup got it trying to squeeze some chain link fence.  All of the guys think the scar looks neat and the women in training are all apalled and shocked, making up all sorts of stories how the dog got the scar.  Doesn't bother the dog. Reminds me of some of Brent's skin decorations, but he did his with a power saw and not a fence. WhistlingYou have me confused.  Re  your current landscaping projects.....last year you were chopping down, cutting back, and hauling away.  This year you are planting and putting yourself right back into the same predicament.  You will be sorry!  Whistling Hope the PC holds up this time around!

DougDG.....enjoyed your grandson's little league update.  Youse guyz get such a jump on the rest of us.  Little league here doesn' start for another month with the first game scheduled for April 28!!!   My home town has the very first little league to be formed and chartered in Taxachusetts.  Sure would like to sample some of your chili!!! Dinner

KEV.........good idea, the inside-the-house air exchange after Winter!!!!!!  That's on tap for my house today after it warms up to 60 today, probably by noon. Thumbs Up[:D

Brutus.........your crud is still hanging on?  I think you have an allergy........to plumbing!!!!  Whistling  Did you ever wrap up the basement r&r?

JEFF.......based on what I can glean from your posts, Sundowne LA must rank right up there with the tropical rainforests of the Amazon in terms of rainfall.  How many feet of rain do you get a year? Surprise

Chief..........buying ammo for birthday presents? You've got to be kidding me!  Laugh

LAZ........re Fife's question how can one tell if two U-Boats collide under water Laugh while you run your U-boat with no pileups,  I have one of those U36B Spirit of 76 u-boats.  What a life Minnie has with you, every day an adventure. Thumbs Up

DougM.........re wives and light fixtures (chandeliers in your case), what bothers me is twofold:  what was wrong with the old one and if the old one was so crummy why can't we throw it out? Bang Head

V8Dennis.........however will you survive with the Sylmar CA. temperatures in the 60s? Whistling  Out here it was 40 this AM when I went out with high 60s expected later today and everyone is running around in shorts and t-shirts. Stick out tongue

SP Ray........dogs that are totally friendly and quiet off their property with everyone and everything still enjoy guarding their property boundaries, hence your one neighbor's dog yapping away while the party is going on next door.  That can be mitigated with training.  Put a 15 foot leash on the dog and issue a slight leash correction with a command which tells the dog barking is OK until you say it is not.  Works for me.  Dogs bark, that is what they do, as is patrolling and guarding their homestead.  The other night my son came home 11:30PM, parked his car in the driveway, could not get in because the garage door opener wasn't working, then commenced to pound on the front door to get us to let him in.  All the wifey heard was the pounding while Maximus remained totally silent the whole time.  Wife was scared, asked me to go check things out.   "What kind of guard dog are you?" she observed.  The dog just stared at her while we let the son in.  Dogs can tell whose car is coming up the road and who is out there.  Why they go ballistic long before the mailman shows up at the front door. Thumbs UpLaugh  Need to train Maximus better so he warns us that the son is approaching and the refrigerator is about to be invaded. Whistling  Dog probably figures it's Dinner and son is the meal ticket. Laugh

FIFE........time to start prepping the yatchet?  Music to my ears. Pirate  Hoping tha backside is toughening up. Smile, Wink & Grin

JimmyT.........re the color of the transmission fluid in the Mustang.  Think "severe service" (livery, short hop, and towing) in the owners' manuals calls for a 50,000 change interval.  Mixed or normal service @ 100,000 miles.  And light duty @ 150,000 miles.  Pretty sure I know why yours looked as it did @ 45,000 miles.......Bang Head  Blame the prior owner's heavy right foot!!!!

Later gang.

After the sunroom addition TheQ had me paint the room a light sage green. That and the medium brown carpet just made the room look like a dirty cave. We decided to change the wall color to yellow as part of this project and I have to say it REALLY changed the look of the room! It is so much more inviting now.

Hello all

Busy weekend beautiful weather. 37 for the trip to w**k this AM. 60's & rain predicted for the return trip

Mrs and I fried fish, shrimp & clam strips for 780+ Friday evening.

Gave the fence a quick once over and left the steers out in the barn yard, Several fence posts need replaced before they go to the pasture.

York pass arrived in Saturdays mail, not bad considering I sent it Monday. Now keeping my fingers crossed that nothing screws up my trip there.

Best get busy.  Try to get back later

Prayers for those in need

Lunch Time,

Great weekend. Went to my nephew's wedding reception Saturday in Arlington, Va., and left early Sunday back to Jersey for a trade show for my wife's ice cream shop. I just go for the food.

My York passes came this weekend also. I can not wait to go.

We had a great talk on the Tardis last night. SJ shared the banilla.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Have a Great Day,

John

Secret Service fugitive caught in Peabody

PEABODY — An alert Peabody sergeant was able to turn a routine traffic stop on Saturday into the arrest of a man on the United States Secret Service's Most Wanted list.

Miguel Argenys Jesurum, 30, of 609 W. 151st St., Apt. 4, New York, N.Y., was arrested at 2:43 a.m. at the junction of Route 1 and Interstate 95 on a motor vehicle violation. Though he withheld his real name, police subsequently determined through fingerprints that he is the man wanted by the Secret Service in what is described as a $250 million cellphone cloning scheme.........

JEFF.......based on what I can glean from your posts, Sundowne LA must rank right up there with the tropical rainforests of the Amazon in terms of rainfall.  How many feet of rain do you get a year? Surprise

Not enough! Louisiana Annual Precipitation Average - 62.7 inches, 2nd wettest state in the U.S. We get a lot of that rain this time of year. Much less during the summer when you could probably melt rocks together. The summer is our wildfire season.
