Good morning. It's 48° and wet. The high will be 55°, mostly cloudy and wet. Chance of rain 50%. NE wind 15 to 20 mph gusting to 30.

Nothing planned for today. Didn't get much sleep due to storms. I'll be trying to rectify that today.

Evening all made BLT sandwiches for supper tonight no the tomatoes weren't like garden fresh but it still tasted good. Been a while since had them.

Not a lot going on tonight waiting for my computer to get delivered for the 3rd time lol. hopefully this will be the last and all will be fine. this all started about a month and a half ago I believe. ( just checked and it started like back on the 17th of January so almost 2 months ago. ) Bang Head But all I have paid so far was the original shipping of the computer to them. this is the 5th shipment they have paid on this 2 to them and 3 to me. I would guess there getting close to having the cost of a new putor in shippings alone.

Oh well. Wife wants to goto the flea market again tomorrow since I'm off and I enjoy the walking as does she so guess thats where we will be going tomorrow morning.

Ohayƍ (O-hi-o for Chuck),

We had the pastor and his wife over for dinner last night.  They have been in Japan for quite some time and enjoy it.  The wife spent some time in Japan as a child and speaks Japanese.  Their son is in the Navy and will be stationed here in Japan very soon so they are thrilled about that.  I’m glad you all liked the Tokyo Tower photos.  I’m sure we’ll visit it a few more times while we’re here.  I would like to visit it at night.

It is supposed to rain all day today so we do not have any outdoor activities planned for the day.  We may have to go on a toy store hunt.

Doug – Godzilla hasn’t made an appearance in a long time.  We should not let our guard down as he can emerge at any moment.  Surprise

SP Ray – Yes, they design and build their structures here to be able to withstand the many earthquakes.  At 35 mph you’ll be cooking; at that speed they’ll probably make you wear safety harnesses.  Laugh

Hello all

We were just closing due to the Chief's favorite as I walked into the control room tonight. Supposedly a continued chance of showers thru the night.

Powered up Kev's smoke unit last night and got it to smoke, but need to get a connector for it so I can flip it over for testing w/o disturbing the connection. You'd think w/ all the connectors we have in this place there would be one. Not so much. Got close w/ a couple different electronic pieces in the junk drawer, but no dice. I have to go down to the big city (Safford) tomorrow afternoon for groceries so I will see if the local Radio Shack has one.

Will continue to work on the 1664. I have some spacers to get the side rods installed on the other side.

Time to find some breakfast.

Hey Bob, Thanks man!! Smile

Yeah I got it to smoke but the fan would not spin. I just touched the wires to the male post but if you find the connector I will buy it off of you because when you get it fixed I want to use it in a building and will need one. thanks again for checking that thing out for me.

Good evening everyone.  Has been quite the day.  Had to come down on someone, which is not something I don't like to do.  After work, I was able to help out for some friends who's parents are moving into a house here.  The father is confined to a wheelchair as he has MS.

Dennis V8, regarding the electronic devices in church, I have several bible applications on my iPad2 that are great.  I use "Olive Tree" app and have several bible versions and also the McArthur Study Bible in that app that allows me to research the texts in real time to verify the statements of the speakers.  I do not get to use it most times during the church service as I am usually on camera for that, but it is great in Sunday School.  One great thing about the iPad is that you can very quickly jump from chapter to chapter, so you are not looking for the scripture while the preacher is already talking.

Jack, regarding cell phones, we used Tracfone for years.  The deal you can get with some phones, you get double minutes or more.  We used to purchase the one year with a total minutes over 1000 for $100.  I rarely used it, and never used more than the alotted minutes in a year's time.  Now, we gave up our land phone line and went with AT&T's family plan which has unlimited text, and more minutes than we will ever use for less than the cost of the land line, and that gives us two phones.  My wife really likes that I can quickly give her a text with such things as who will pick up the kids, etc.

Chief, that is a great CQC weapon.  Hope you only have to use it at the range.

Rich, I have carried that smell too many times to remember.  Have had people ask if something was on fire and I had to admit I had just gotten back from a job.  One of those things you hate to smell later, but it is great right after a job well done.

RIP NavyJack, his was a wonderful presence here.  You could tell how much he enjoyed the interaction with the folks here.  I know many here offered advice to try to help him get his trains running in such a way that he would be able to operate from his bed.  Sad that his days were spent confined by his condition.

Laz, I would love to get that Southern Cresent, but bad timing as I am not going to make any purchases till after we are done with the adoptions.  Too many potential expenses, so we are saving.

Well, I hope to check in later this weekend.  May each of you have a blessed day.

Dennis

Kev,

I saw your thread about diesel fueling stations, and Marx made their own version.  K Line also used the Marx tooling to produce the fueling station.

Not much going on today.  I managed to get a partial 264 Forklift Platform on ebay that should provide what I need to get my dad's original back into shape.  I tried several years ago and gave up due to the destroyed vibrotor and missing springs that are impossible to find.  There is some surface rust on the one that I bought, but that shouldn't be a problem. It also looks to be '58 production from the black plastic camslide and ribs in the track channel of the base.

Spent some time earlier today under the Mustang replacing the transmission fluid.  The old fluid looked more like used oil than Mercon.Ick!  I didn't think it would be that bad at 44,583.  Pumped in 3.2 quarts of fresh Castrol Dex/Merc and it seems to go into second and third without the crunchy/notchy feel that it had before.Thumbs Up

Evenin' All.

Museum run went great today, ended up with just two of us today. All of my engines saw track time although one of them just pushed the camera car around most of the day. The passenger consist didn't even get unpacked. Only problem was trying to get a MTH/DCS lash-up built, wanted to run it tail/tail but after three unsuccessful attempts had to settle for head to tail and ran great. Took in a crockpot full of Chili (Roy's favorite) along with Fritos(reduced salt), Cheddar Cheese and onions for toppings. Oink, Oink !

The munchkin has his first Little League game tomorrow morning, we gotta be out the door at 7am so we can be there in time to find a parking spot and seats for an 8am game, Dead. My saturdays are now spoken for til early June. Thumbs Up Smile, Wink & Grin .

Laz, I need to take a better look at your list.

Eyes are gettin' a bit tired & droopy, time to call it a nite.

Nite all !

Prayers for all in need.

Sunny and high 60's today.

Blownout Cylinder - neat picture of the Nanook executing a hard launch.  Those old top fuel alterds were known for being unpredictible.  That picture demonstratd one of the reasons why.  Years ago I saw a VW with an injected V8 at Tri-City Dragway near Saginaw, Mi. make a launch that had all four tires off of the ground.

Laz - the problem in the Burro crane were the wires connecting the field windings.  They were routed at the corner of the field laminations.  The cab hung up on them as it rotated.  Untaped the wires and moved them more towards the center of the field coil.  Lubricated evering while I had it open.  Runs fine now.  Really looks neat polking along with a gondola in tow.

All for now.

Good Morning

Getting ready to go to w**k at w**k this fine morning..supposed to go to a high of 33F today with a 30% chance of little tiny snowfluffies this morning...tomorrow it will go all the way to 60F!!Smile, Wink & GrinWhistling

I may, if I'm lucky get something of a chance to see if the turnout works tonight..as I might get a chance to run some choo choo's....Mischief

8n:  I've seen Willie Borsch do things like that..the frame was almost like a spring in the sense that when it would come down of a wheelstand the front would hit the ground so hard it would lift the rear off as well...then again Willie was such a nonchalant driver..Whistling

Konbanwa,

It rained all day just as forecasted.  We may get some flurries overnight but I will not hold my breath for anything serious.  I took the older two kids out for lunch to the Japanese curry house; the Princess enjoys the curry as much as I do, and my finicky son likes the cheese Nan they serve.  However, he did have some pork cutlet today as well which is a big step for him.  The older son and I were off to the barbershop after lunch and then we all lazed around the rest of the day.  The wife and Princess made a quick grocery run but all the other chores were already finished.  It's time to finish some schoolwork and get some sleep.

Bob - That 1664 will be like brand new by the time you're finished with it. Bow

I'll pray for all of us and especially those who are ill or grieving.

Hi GUYZ,

Cool one here today at 30 only gonna hit 42.  Tomorrow 60s again.

Took my MINNIE for a two hr walk in the woods, and along the creek.  Saw some nice trout in the fly fishin only area.  TROUT SEASON is only 3 weeks away.  Happy time for me.

Ran trains last nite for two hrs.  NO PILE UPs!!!!  Ran the UBOATs and the Reading T1 all good.

8NTRUCK,  yes they are cool running down the track.  I had mine set up with the reverse changer prongs on a nice flat area about 10 feet going back and forth.  Pretty cool, with all the coffee grindin going on I was starting to crave some coffee.

JEFF, is that a spray can in your hand while standing next to that car?  You gonna put some GRAFFITTI on there about ROSEYVILLE?

Stay frosty,

laz57

Good morning. It's 54° and cloudy. The high will be 65° and mostly cloudy. There's a 40% chance of rain today.

There's still a bit of cleanup work to do on the layout, put away some tools, sort some things out etc.

Well, my nephew had a starter problem on one of his trucks. It seemed to be hung up and wouldn't engage with the flywheel. The starter would just spin. A couple of weeks ago he crawled underneath and tapped on the end of the starter with a hammer while one of his friends tried to start the engine. After several hard taps there was a loud clack and the starter worked and it's worked every time since. He knows it will eventually hang up again but he's hoping it'll work until he can get another starter for it. He's between jobs (nothing surprising there) so funds are a bit tight.

30 with sun, going into the high 40s today.

Our first DIL lost her mother overnight, she was 82, from what I was told this morning it sounds like her heart just stopped. She had no medical issues but did have mental problems. Today is club day, we will gather this evening for our monthly play night. I am taking the TMCC Warhorse J, hope to run it with the military train...S.J.

Good morning guys. Bright sun no clouds 40 and rising with a good breeze.

RT, good to see the puter is working this time. Seems like you and BC know cats can be good friends too. As long as you let them have their way. Smile, Wink & Grin

Jim Probe, Would you know any part numbers of that fueling station? Confused If not that is fine I will look for them. I have a small area on the layout where I want to put a storage tank and fueling station but I just don’t like Lionel’s that much. That trans fluid should have looked like new with that mileage on it. Somebody been beating that car? Laugh

Laz and SJ thanks for the help. I found the OGR sell board. Do the adds just hang out there for ever and not go away? Seemed like there are a lot of them.  Huh?

Where is Chief?? Have not seen him since page 19?? Him and Buckeye ( who has been missing since page 17) must be up to something?  Mischief

SJ, Sorry for your DIL’s loss. Guess if you got to go, in you sleep would be my pick.  Angel

Have a good day all,

Kev.

Kevin glad you found the OGR board, I don't use it but I believe the items listed are still for sale. I would think sold items would be removed or marked as sold. DIL said her mother woke saying she couldn't breath took a couple deep breaths and was gone. Thus my conclusion her heart had already stopped.

Oldest son and 90 of his student's plus chaperon's left this morning for the Nations Capitol, it's their spring break as they do a major trip every 3 years.  They will do several concerts while their and of course take in all the sights.  Buckeye & Chuck  -- they are in Cleveland tonight so take good care of them, they will hit DC tomorrow and be there until Thursday eve.  He asked me if I would like to chaperone, after I stopped laughing I said no thanks, I've paid my dues.  His wife and grand kids will arrive here tomorrow and be with us through Wed., really looking forward to the kids & trains.  I spent most of Thursday in the train room putting out new trains and fixing some stuff that needed attention.

Next project is to get the blade off the ATV and hook up the buggy so we go for rides through the woods, forecasts are fabulous with rain only tomorrow, Monday & Tuesday temps in the 70's!  Doug M. -- son is doing a daily blog of the trip, if you want I can send you that url as I remember that you teach blogging, I think he's pretty good but I am biased :)

Good morning all,

SJ, sorry to hear about your DIL's mother.  My MIL went the same way.

Had a nice get together yesterday at my train layout with friends.  Ran trains for a couple of hours with no pile ups.  One of my friends took my ACL MTH E6 proto 2 engine home to see if he can make the headlights come back on somehow.  I have already spent too much on repairs to put anymore into this thing.

Neighbors across the street must be having a birthday party for kids today.  They have on of those bounce houses set up this morning for the kids.

Laz, I would go for that Southern PS4 if I didn't already have one.  That's a great engine.  I sold my first one which was PS1 and bought the present PS2 that I have now.  Like it much better.

Dennis, I'm not up to date on all the modern gizzmos for reading the Bible.  Sounds like it would be helpful to some.  Although I spent many summers in vacation Bible schools growing up, I still can't quote chapter and verse on everything but I am familiar with most passages at least in the New Testament.  If any speaker got it wrong, I would probably notice unless we are talking word for word.

Looks like another pleasant day here weather wise although a little cooler than yesterday.

Yapper dog across the street is at it again and it's not even time for the mailman yet.  Probably barking at the birthday party next door.
