SPMan

Yapper dog across the street is at it again and it's not even time for the mailman yet.  Probably barking at the birthday party next door.

We used to have a couple of them little yap-yap dogs out here. One committed hari-kari by running under one of the front wheels of my van as I drove around the backside of the loop. Guess it zigged when it should have zagged. Imagine that. And I only drive ten mph on that part of the loop. The other one disappeared last week after an all night yap session.

Good evening everyone.  Has been a good day with warm temps and sunshine.  Daughter had ballet recital practice, while I had to change out a faucet in the bathroom.  When the wife and daughter got home, we all went to a new BBQ place, was good.

Dennis and Ray, yeah, the new electronic bibles are great for keeping up with the sermon, but folks really should have the anti-glare screen covers on them or they will cause issues with distracting reflective light.  We have had to ask some folks to put them away during services because of it.

Sir James, sorry to hear of the loss.  It sounds to me like it may have been a pulmonary embolism.  We were discussing these cases this past week.  They really can seem like God's way of letting us know He is in charge.  You can have a routine case that has no problems and the person seems fine, only to have them go home and die without warning.  This even happens in the hospital where they have life saving abilities right at hand and the patients have been tested and otherwise fine.  Happens suddenly and without warning.

Jon, sent you a link for a free photo book for kindle.

Well, don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour tonight, or you may be late for church in the morning.

God bless,

Dennis

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 50s.  Worked on various projects today with some degree of success. Finally got the correct 1099s from the local financial institution.   Went to see "This Means War" last night.  Much, much better show than I thought it would be.  Would make a great date flick for those of you with wives or girlfriends (or both???).  Got the quote on some home remodeling we were looking at doing.  May have to re-evaluate a lot of planning.  Not much else going on.  TBIL and I can drive again.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Howdy.  Passing through.  Two busy days.  Cleaned out the "little house" [storage building attached to garage] yesterday.  Moved kitchen cabintes [minus double sink] from box into the little house.  Now storage of 2 cycle equipment on top and drawers for other items.  New small Craftsman compressor goes under where sink use to be.  Picked up and mounted scope on Remington 700 50th Aniv. edition.

Today, Fred and I went to Baptist Men's breakfast and then to Edgecombe Co. farms.  Filled feeders, new batteries for feeders and cameras, swapped SD cards in cameras and changed timers on feeders.  Loosen straps on ladder stands and took skirting down.

Just got home.

Later.

Konbanwa,

We had a very nice Sunday.  It stopped raining and it was decently warm outside.  The wife and two older kids went to church this morning, but I stayed home with the youngest as he was a little under the weather.  He has a bit of a runny nose so it was best he not be around other kids.  I watched an older televised sermon by Adrian Rodgers.  I’m not sure how old it was because he has been dead for about 10 years; however, the message was still certainly relevant, especially to me.  We spent the rest of the day lazing around.  I was able to have a quick chat with RT; the rest of the Tardis crew was off gallivanting.

SJ – I’m sorry for your DIL’s loss.  I hope she is coping well.

Doug M. – I was able to view the photo by clicking on the link.  Are those Hornby cars in the forefront?

Charlie – Thanks for posting the video.  Was that’s SJ’s J class I saw?

Sayonara,

Joe

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....

It is a cold and frosty 30 degrees. Going up to 70 today with sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I will relax. Ballgame today on TV and the Nascar race. Maybe I'll run trains for an hour or so. Need to do some cleaning in the train room.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Granny fixed me a big breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns so I won't be needing lunch today. Going to the monthly TTOS show at noon.....S.J.

Good morning. It's 63° and cloudy with patches of rain. The high will be 72° with showers and thunderstorms. Chance of rain is 70% this morning increasing to 80% this afternoon.

It was very noisy here early this morning as a band of thunderstorms came through sometime before sunrise. I didn't bother to look at the clock so I don't know what time that was. The storms are moving to the northeast at 25 mph.

No layout work planned for today.

Good morning all, don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour.  Did mine last night.  Got up early to watch Meet the Press but felt like I was still asleep.  Wasn't worth getting up.

Need new roof on our church according to report.  Removing old roof maybe a problem because of asbestos issues and therefore more expensive to do but we have no choice.  Also they replaced lighting recently with new "energy efficient" flouresent type lighting.  Too bright and distracts from the soleminity of the church IMHO.  Looks more like Dodger Stadium.  There must be some kind of energy efficient lighting that's more subdued.  I think somebody sold them a bill of goods.

Gotta get ready for church now.

Later,

Ray

Hi guys - feeling a little better, but still getting rid of the crud.  I had the flu shot this year, too - go figure.  Stayed up watching tv and waiting to change the clocks last night, like SJ told me to - now I'm really tired.  Oh well, guess I'll take a nap.  TTFN!

Morning all.  Back from lunch and about to take a nap.  Very good service this morning and I was able to sit with my family, which is novel as I most always am on camera.

Joe, Adrian Rogers was one of the last truly great men of God.  He was dynamic and instructive, I learned a lot from listening to him.  Another is Vance Havner.  They have been doing a project to make their sermons and notes available.  A very good resource.

Chief, I don't have any 45autos, but hope to pick up a 1911 some day.  I do have a 45long Colt that I have yet to fire.  Have fun up there.

Well, time for a nap as the girls have gone to the mall.

God bless,

Dennis

A quick Hi guys,

Been working in the yard all day, it is been between 68 and 70 since 10:00 so I thought I had better do something.

Stained the wife’s anniversary gift, the 1926 antique grain drill implement. Soon to be a flower planter. Pulled it out of the shed and placed it in line with the three other antique implements. They make a nice property fence.

We opened up the house to do an air exchange.

Got out the 3203 Deere hooked up the grader and did the lane. No more pot holes,, for now.

Do any of you have the Rio Grande General set??? If so, what do you think of it. Been wanting one because I like the engine in black. I see you can get the whole set for around $225.00. Or is it junk??

Anyhow got to check in on the race and get back outside.

Later,

Kev.

Afternoon All.

Nice day out today, low 70's and blue sky. Got a little yardwork done now need to take a little break and do some more in a bit when the batteries get a lttle recharged.

Went to the munchkin's first Little League game yesterday, at times it resembled more of a Chinese Firedrill then a baseball game. For six & seven year olds though it went pretty well, a great bunch of coaches and parents that all seemed to realize at this age level it is about learning the basics and having some fun. We had to leave the house very early so needless to say grampa crashed for a bit when we got home just before noon.

Took the MTH M&M's handcar to the museum friday, got lots of chuckles from the visitors. It's all about the toys and giving our guests an enjoyable visit. I keep thinking that one of these days I'll make up a consist of nothing but cabooses(cabeese?). Clown

Well breaktime is almost up, back to work.

Later all !

Afternoon all been busy day here but took it easy most of the day anyway. Went to flea market, saw a A.F. 303 engine but don't know enough about them but thought he was asking to much seeing theres no way to test it and all. ( $50.00)

Did pick up a plate with some German engine on it believe it was made by Volkswagen but not sure. (see SPF)

Then went to lunch at a Chinese buffet and then went to big lots and bought a tree so had to bring it home goto Lowe's to get mulch and compost and then plant it

now time to rest.
